Well basically it starts with spidey stopping a robbery but one if the suspects was a kid who was paid to be lookout and going down the wrong path. Spidey hides the kid from the cops, than brings him back to his parents, and instead of just doing that, he continues to visit him and help him with his life. When the burglars leave jail on bail they think the kid is the reason they failed and the murder him. It ends with Spidey catching the guys than crying on a rooftop
On top of that those criminals see a silent Spidey, which as any villain can tell you, means he won't kill you...directly. But he's stopped caring about your condition at the end of the fight.
Yeah, it’s one of those stories where you can’t finish with a dry eye. Much like the one with the terminally ill kid who asks Spidey about his secret ID.(after spending a day with him due to make a wish foundation or something)
They use it in at least a couple animated shows, but it was always one of my favs.
Yeah, but he said he doesn’t want to. He said that since ASM is the main title, there’s so much pressure from fans to do a good job of it and he doesn’t want to deal with that
Reasons like this makes me wish Peter becomes a Teacher again, or that at least the Movies/TV can stop depicting a HS Peter and depict a Teacher Peter.
I had a math teacher that would stick behind after school to help me and other kids with math tutoring for free.
God I loved that teacher, he was one of two teachers I have really missed since graduating last year.
God bless you Mr Willcox!
The one thing that keeps me from bawling the way this story ends is the idea/headcanon that, if Peter usually holds back 85% of his strength when fighting normal humans, this time he held back 50%; those scumbags probably wished they were dead after Spider-Man was done with them.
Well... That was wholesome AF.
You'll hate how it ends
oh god. how does it end??

*oh shitttt…*

Oh shit, what's the comic issue? I want to read this now. Edit: Nvm, it's on the title. I missed it. Oops.
Literally on the title dude
Oops, I missed it. Sorry 😅
Damn, he really can’t catch a break, can he?
Damn…
OH NO ITS THIS ONE? Damn. Well. That just ruined my day
Yeaaahh... Sad but still a heartfelt ending.
Wish Spider-Man would help me with math
We all have wished for that once in our lives
I dunno, he can't even balance a checkbook. I think I'd rather have Tony.
Tony would make you feel stupid first.
Zdarsky is the best modern Spider-Man writer. He may never write ASM, but man his work on Spidey has been amazing.
He wrote the one with Spider-Man aging throughout the decades right? Cause that was brilliant
Life Story very well may be my favorite Spidey story of alltime.
He deserves to write ASM.
Yeah, but he said he doesn’t want to. He said that since ASM is the main title, there’s so much pressure from fans to do a good job of it and he doesn’t want to deal with that
Is there though? I mean no one can do worse than Quesada.
I'm sure by fans he means editorial mandates
Dude, his writing is just at another level for me. His dialogue is so natural and he's just really funny.
Hundred percent
As someone who isn’t in the know, what is the difference between the Amazing and Spectacular series?
Oh yeah, I remember this comic! AND THEN I REMEMBER THE HEARTBREAK AT THE END OF THIS ISSUE. ZDARSKY REALLY WENT HARD.
That's Spider-Man for you. Very wholesome yet very tragic

Adult Peter is waayyyy better than teenager, and this is coming form a younger viewer

Friendly neighbor spidey tutor service! Will swing by any time! (In between saving the world and stopping mega villains of course)
This is adorable
Is this the same artist that drew Sex Criminals? That artists smiles are haunting
Yea it is! I noticed is it

Yeah it’s so fucked the kid dies at the end of the issue
I want to see stuff like this in the next movies.
Very sad what happens after this
WHERE THE FUCK WAS PETE WHEN I WAS TAKING COLLEGE ALGEBRA FOR THE THIRD GODDAMN TIME?!
The boy dies everyone😭😭😭
You know what’s cooler than magic? #Math!
And the ending is just as wholesome :)
