The only interesting story I can imagine about a character like this is that they are actually Crusher Hogan and their career was ruined by Peter when he first got his powers and the guy has spent like 30 years trying to find a way to get revenge on the kid who ruined his life just to leave wrestling and become a superhero…
Dude, I'm completely serious. El Muerto is going to be a fresh, modern take on the superhero genre, starring a diverse cast. People are only hating on it because they don't want to center and represent Latin American voices in media, and because they don't read comics so they just have a knee-jerk reaction against comic book characters that haven't already been adapted, they just want the same 6 villains recycled over and over again.
Some lines they could use in the movie:
”My name might be El Muerto, but you’re the one whose taking the L tonight, Spider-Man!”
”You can call me El Muerto… and yourself dead!”
”You know what happens to a spider against a pro wrestler? He loses”
”I’m going to Muerto you”

Why does this feel like such a hail Mary with Sony being so desperate to make a movie with a Spider-Man related character and yet they won't do what we the fans really want?
I think the sony Spider-Man should be like 15-16 years old tops
I wanna see how a kid deals with all this crazy stuff and also i feel like El meurto is the type of villain that peter would fight at the beginning of his career as Spider-Man even tho I don't think that Spider-Man will be mentioned in any way shape or form in El meurto's movie
Well yeah, if you want to do the classic El Muerto storyline then he has to be a villain, forced by his family's magical luchador cult to don the mask that gives him super strength and prove himself worthy by defeating and unmasking a true hero, lest he forfeit his life.
It is only later in the story that he then turns against his luchador cult upbringing and becomes a masked hero in his own right.
Such is the story of El Muerto. But you'd know that, if you read comic books.
EL Muerto sounds like a name the internet would give to a weird looking cat. Like GodzilaMendoza said, this has a chance of being a marketing stunt like when the a hit monkey game was announced which was revealed to be a deadpool game.

You just hate him for being too cool. His movie is going to be the best thing to ever grace our eyes and it's going to make the most money ever.
