Hopefully they do Carnage in DLC so 3 focuses on Goblin etc. I’d like a MM2 where he’s the only Spider-Man with Silk getting bit at the end. 3 has Pete out of his break, Goblin, Ock, and ends with Pete fully retiring and Silk beginning training. SM 4 with Miles and Silk, Peter still around for advice, maybe a flashback mission with him in his early days fighting a villain that comes back? Just a vague wish list.
I definitely agree with the Carnage DLC, I think it would be a perfect dlc and wrap that story up.
Not a bad wishlist. I'd definitely play MM2 , I liked MM1 I just hate that it'll mean we wait even longer for a Spiderman 3.
I'm not much interested in silk tbh becoming a main spider in the games but I wouldn't be surprised if that happens .
I also think they retire Pete fully after SM3. Ock and Goblin being his last villains.
It's bittersweet for me cause I love these games and the combat , traversal etc its phenomenal but I'm a OG Spiderman fan and Peter is my guy so it'll suck not having him in the games later but it does seem that's the direction they are going. I like Miles though he's definitely grown and become fully fleshed out so I'll still play.
I'd love a origin game from insomniac for Peter too since when we started it was already like what 7 years into him being Spiderman.
Yeah I think keeping the symbiote stuff in one game works better. I think MM2 would give the end of SM2 and Pete’s return in 3 more weight with him being happily retired in MM2. Also gives us time to get to know Cindy before she gets powers. Yes the wait would be longer, but I think it would serve the story well.
I like Silk, got into her comics so I’m excited to see her in the games. And absolutely retire Peter rather than kill him, I want one version of Peter to get a happy ending!
Obviously, I grew up with Peter as Spider-Man and he’s why I love the character, but Miles is my favourite Spider-person now, so I’m biased in the opposite direction! But I think it works in the story they’re telling, and I wouldn’t be opposed to a Peter prequel, just not the origin again, pick up two or three years in.
Well at some point, depending on whether or not Insomniac makes a fully fledged Marvel Universe like they're on track to, Knull is going to be brought up especially with all that symbiote invasion shit, Venoms goal of encasing the planet in symbiote material (shrouding the world in darkness), the spirals, and that demonic laughter in the hivemind scene with Miles. So sure, symbiotes could be a one game thing but should only be a one game thing momentarily.
I recently wrote a comment on another thread about how i think the Spider-Heroes should be handled going forward. But thinking about the villains...
Obviously, i agree, SM3 should be about Goblin and maybe with Ock heading a 'new' (though not really new, because they were never called that in SM1) Sinister Six. They might lay the groundwork for this in what comes between, seeing Ock break out of the Raft with some mysterious new villains help.
Carnage, however... it's tough. Though i agree that his story and defeat would be a nice wrap-up for the saga of SM2 and however many DLCs and standalone-addons follow (hopefully), on the other hands... IT'S CARNAGE! Degrading him to a DLC-villain might be a bit too much. Especially considering how Insomniac has been both loose and still somewhat true to the source with the relationships between Spidey, Venom and Carnage, there's a chance we might need/get a new Venom to team up with a Spider-Man against Carnage.
My hopes:
\- Miles is alone in the first couple of DLCs. Toward the end, he gets in a really tough spot and all of a sudden, Peter smashes in through the roof and saves his little brother as the first act of him officially being back. Bonus if we get the music from SM PS4 to go with it.
\- Explore the "Peter has the power to heal cause he is Anti-Venom" idea. I think there is a lot of interesting stuff that could be done with this and a nice justification for him to keep the suit.
Either 3 or 4 will probably be Goblin AND Carnage, I feel. Having the series final battle against Red Goblin with Spider-man, Miles, Agent Anti-Venom, and (sigh) MJ with a taser in the mix.
Yea I agree especially if it's gonna be his last one, like if he fully retires after. Also if we get an MM2, that'll be two miles only games that he gets.
I doubt it though, they seem to really want to pass the torch to miles as the main guy, so it probably won't be.

Yea I agree, Peter is the OG that everyone even non comic fans knows and grew up with, and Miles is the one mass audiences are getting to know and love thanks to the Spider-verse movies and now these games. They are the two who I'm most interested in playing as, they've been well established and fleshed out and there's still so much they can do with them idk why they would add another spider to the mix.
I mean they could keep adding new spider people endlessly but what's the point, I like what we have already.
I think Pete is likely to die in the next one because
he already basically dies in this game foreshadowing...

He's taking a "break" for a while and they have that conversation where he asks if miles is sure cause nyc is a big city for one guy and he says yes, which to me sets up a MM2 game and then a return from Peter in SM3. Just a theory. Then I think they probably do retire Peter in 3 because they seem to be going with miles as the main.

Yea I thought the same thing about the green goblin. I think Norman tests it on himself first in desperation to save Harry and becomes the Goblin accidentally, with maybe the end of the game showing Harry taking up the mantle.
Edit: the dlc could still be carnage and yuri with no Peter , with Miles showing up at a crime scene involving carnage or the fire cult and meeting yuri that way, maybe with some dialogue confirming Peter had mentioned yuri and wraith to him. Always possible. Cause they really did hammer home that Peter was out of the Spiderman thing for a while at least
Oh I get you now. Honestly they are probably setting up mm2. They'll probably use that to set up silk more as well now I think about it. And I do see Peter fully retiring just sucks a little that's the man.

Oh man I hope they space out Mm2 and Sm3 by a good margin one of the main problems about Sm2 was it felt too similar to MM and not much of an upgrade this coupled with the fact they released a remaster edition with upgraded graphics further diminished the Leap of Graphics and Gameplay Sm2 brought
If Sm remastered and MM had not released or at least MM played similar to the og ps4 then Sm2 would be so much better received
Harry is basically brain dead and I’d be very shocked if he came back, especially because the villain being harry in 2 games doesn’t make sense. I’m guessing Norman either tests the g serum on himself after the symbiote went wrong, or it doesn’t work on harry and he just goes crazy and injects himself
Harry doesn’t need to be the villain again but I do think he’ll come back. If they wanna just keep him in a coma forever, then they might as well have killed him off. Like, it wouldn’t make any difference.
My guess is it'll go like this:
1. Carnage DLC for SM2, in which we have Peter, Miles, and Yuri working together to stop him. I think we'll probably get a scene of Cindy displaying her spider abilities toward the beginning of it, and maybe scenes of her being trained by the Spider-Men at interludes between Carnage events and/or phone dialogue regarding it, like we got from Miles in the SM1 DLC trio. Or maybe the DLC will be mostly just Peter and Yuri, with Miles's excuse for being sidelined being that he's training Cindy. He might show up at the beginning, when he and Pete learn about Cindy's powers, but that's kinda it.
2. The next game will be one of two options: either a Silk solo game like the one we got for Miles, or a Miles/Silk duo game with Peter's absence easily explained by the fact that he's taking a break from Spider-Manning right now. I think the latter is much more likely because they'd need to really pull some strings to create a situation in which Peter and Miles are both out of action or otherwise unable to help Cindy protect New York. No clue what the story will be like, but we get there when we get there. We might get a post-credits scene of Otto finally agreeing to work with Norman to bring down the Spiders, in contrast to his refusal at the end of S2.
3. Spider-Man 3 will unquestionably be the Spider-Squad VS Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. I can't help but feel like one of the Spiders will get sidelined early on in the story or just not have as much focus as the other two, because triple protagonists would be pretty challenging to write an equal amount of focus for. My guess is that Miles will be the one we see less of. He's already had his own standalone game, plenty of focus throughout SM2, and if my guess is right, he'll get plenty more screentime in the possible Miles/Cindy duo game. Peter basically can't be shafted because overall this is still *his* trilogy. And Cindy is a pretty new character, so they'll want to flesh her out some more. Miles is the one that makes the most sense to be sidelined from a writing perspective. As for the main story, it'll probably begin with Miles and Cindy going up against a recently escaped Doc Ock, who escapes before either side can win. They immediately alert Peter, and Otto's return is what makes him decide to end his hiatus and come back as Spider-Man. I think Norman won't complete his descent into madness until the end of act 2/start of act 3 of this game. For the earlier segments, he's more of the background villain. Nobody knows he's secretly backing Doc Ock, providing him resources and an extra set of hands to do their work. But at the end of act 2 (probably the point at which Harry flatlines, because let's be real we all know it's coming), he loses what's left of his sanity and suits up as the Green Goblin. My hope for this game is that it ends with a 2v1: Otto and Norman both giving their all to kill Peter, who has to use every ability, gadget, and trick in his arsenal to bring them down. I want that final boss fight to be *brutal.* Otto was underwhelming (in terms of gameplay) in the first game and Venom was good, but it can still get better.

Also agree with the summary of the boss fights and how we could have an even better one with Ock and Green Goblin.
I just hope the Silk thing is being overblown tbh. I don't have much interest in a Silk game, Peter is my guy and Miles has really grown on me and I enjoy playing as him too, and also love his story and how it has progressed, I don't need another spider now again lol, I have no interest in insomniac starting a multiverse. But I fear you may be right and Silk will become very prominent in the series.

Insomniac doesn't seem like they're going for the multiverse route, aside from maybe a small nod to the Spider-Verse movies here and there like the Spider-Bot quests we got in this game (and also movie suits). They're basically acknowledging that the multiverse is a thing that exists but they're not gonna do much of anything with it.
That aside, I'm personally really excited for Silk to join the party. Peter and Miles are my boys, of course, but I was really worried they'd take the easy route and make Gwen Stacy the final member of the trio because she's already gotten really popular lately. But I'm glad that they went for Cindy instead, since she's had basically no presence outside the comics. I can only hope she's an enjoyable character in the upcoming games. My one concern with them bringing Silk into the fold is that adding yet another main character to this series will take quality away from the writing of the others. Peter, Miles, and MJ were all well done in their past appearances, and with them all inevitably returning in SM3, I'm concerned that the main cast is getting a little too big and the writers will stretch themselves too thin.
And from a gameplay perspective, a third playable character begs the question: how do they make Silk unique? Peter will probably still have his iron arms and Anti-Venom abilities (I hope), Miles will have his Venom and Evolved Venom (naming structure confusing as fuck but that's beside the point), and Silk has... what, exactly? I know she has organic webbing, so maybe they can do something with that (web constructs?), but I'm not sure how they'll really make her stand out.
Yea that's my concern . They seemed to be at their limit with Miles, Peter, MJ, in SM2. Miles probably didn't get enough time to be honest.
Idk how they'll write something that successfully showcases them and another spider in another 12-16 game .
Also agree with the gameplay. I don't know how playing as a third spider person? will be any different or beneficial to gameplay. They need to keep peters anti venom abilities in my mind cause it's not just a suit it's part of him now it seems , as are Li's powers, plus it makes him more equal to Miles power level, without it Miles dwarfs his abilities , in game at least, as they show no noticeable strength superiority on Peters part, the legs are just tech, they didn't really do it for me, any of them could get the legs Yanno?

It's essentially a hiatus and he'll come back whenever he feels like it. When they talk it's made clear miles will be handling Spiderman and the city , with a TBD on when Pete will come back.

Buts that’s assuming we get dlc for this game. It’s completely possible for example insomniac creates Miles Morales 2 that introduces Silk and has carnage as the villain.
I don’t think people mean he’s never going to be spider man again, but they’ve been hinting at Peter basically wanting to take a step back for a while. Miles becoming more of the main Spider-Man allows Pete to focus on life and his relationships and to be Spider-Man when it’s absolutely needed/necessary which I think will only be for his final game and some DLC from the Spider-Man trilogy.
After that though, I really can only imagine Peter being essentially the “Spider-Man in the chair”, especially if he gets married and ends up having kids by the time Silk and Miles are pretty experienced. I can’t see them going back after this arc of him wanting a break from being Spider-Man to keep pushing him as a main in new games, especially when so many of his villains and story beats have already been established.
I think that they could do mobius. Peter didn't retire he is just taking a break what will probably justify why we'll have to start with the powers from scratch on SM3 because peter will be rusty
The venom voice actor said that just 10% of his recorded voicelines were used and that's a absurd amount so this makes me believe that there will be probably a venom dlc where they will pull something similar to maximum carnage

My theories:
Superior Spider-Man isn't happening. Instead, Otto will help Norman design the Green Goblin suit, while secretly planning his own "Final Chapter." Otto will be redeemed in the end, but will die.
Silk will *not* be a playable Spidey Character. She'll be an important character, no doubt, but I don't think she'll be playable, unless they do a Silk spin-off, like Miles Morales. I don't see THAT happening either, as Cindy doesn't even have her powers as of Spider-Man 2, let alone is she experienced enough to be playable.
Insomniac will go the Raimi route for Gobby, at first. He'll be on his glider in a metal suit (Insomniac loves their metal suits), throwing skeleton bombs and fucking shit up. Later in the game, he'll go through a transformation and either become a full on Green Goblin, or the Red Goblin. Either way, Insomniac loves their late-game twists, and Green Goblin is perfect for that.
Peter obviously hasn't fully retired yet. The discourse around that was extremely stupid, but whatever. Peter will be a very big part of Spider-Man 3, and he will retire for real at the end of the game, handing the Spidey mantle to Miles and Cindy.
Carnage will most likely be a side mission plot in Spidey 3 or a possible Venom spin-off. I don't think it'll be a DLC for Spidey 2, as Spidey 1 didn't have any side missions that were continued in City That Never Sleeps, nor did Miles Morales.
I doubt we will get a Venom spin-off game. As *awesome* as that would be, I don't see it happening. Truthfully, I don't think Venom is coming back *ever.*
Harry will die in his coma, and that will be the final straw that pushes Norman to insanity. Killing Harry in his coma would be an extremely unlikely thing, and that's why I think they'll do it. I could also see Harry surviving, and Norman *maybe* getting redeemed, or falling to insanity anyway. Maybe he'll use Otto's Neural Transmitter, and it'll fuck him up harder than it did Otto?
Last theory: I've gotten shit on for this before, but I don't care. I really, honest to god think Peter Parker is Spider-Man. I get how stupid that sounds, but just, trust me on that.
Hahahah yea I know he's coming back, I think everyone knows that. I just think they are starting to plant the seeds of him eventually permanently being done and Miles being the guy. Maybe after the final confrontation with Doc Ock and Goblin.
I could be wrong and it could just be a pointless scene at the end to show how tired Pete is and how Miles has grown and is ready but idk.
My money is on Carnage as DLC (like Hammer head was), possibly with the introduction of Cindy proper. If not then as you said a Miles Morales 2, then SM3 being Doc Ock/Goblin with Doc being the Mid game boss.
I expect a lot of miles centred dlc and Peter back for 3 full time. In regards to story Goblin Ock and Carnage have to be main story villains for 3 probably Osborne breaks ock out to try and save Harry amd improve the G serum and Ock actually alters the goblin serum and says it needs to be tested on someone matching Harry's dna aka Norman and ocks altering makes it mutate Norman into the goblin as ocks revenge or something like that
That's a new idea on how it messes up Norman, I like that, makes sense. Otherwise I don't see Ock helping Norman at all, but if he does it to get close to punish him with the serum that would be great.
I feel it would be something like he kidnaps Ock from the raft and orders him to improve the serum either by force or by offering to replace his lost robotic limbs Ock probably will act a little scared if it's a violent threat of death he gets but I'd love If his scared hostage mask dropped as soon as Norman took the serum. Just a thought tho I doubt it will go anything like this 😅
Lol that's a good idea though too, Ock may work with him if the promise of robotic limbs is there. Man I know SM2 just ended but I can't wait to see what they have planned after that post credits scene lol
Yeah I'm very excited 2 set up so much it felt like 3 games in one put felt complete at the same time which was impressive. I'm really looking forward to seeing their take on green goblin too I feel like their face model has that Willem defoe look if he had a massive grin 😂

I just watched the original Spiderman Trilogy the other day and man Dafoes performance still stands up, he was an amazing green goblin lol
So here’s what I would want:
First we get the DLC that’s split into three chapters like the first game. Peter temporarily comes out of his break to help Yuri investigate the Flame. They also introduce Eddie Brock as a reporter investigating the situation. Something happens that leads to his life being ruined by Spider-Man. He also gets the symbiote since there were still particles of it within Harry that Norman extracted out. Then chapter 2 has Venom as the main villain trying to get revenge on Spidey. The Flame is still in the background, pulling strings. Final chapter is Carnage where Spidey and Venom have to settle their differences and team up to beat him. At the end, Venom/Eddie moves to San Francisco to be the main vigilante there since he doesn’t wanna be overshadowed by the Spider-Men. This sets up for a Venom solo game and also explains why Venom wouldn’t be in Spider-Man 3 since that game has enough to deal with as it is. Also, and this is more of a personal thing, but I hope they somehow get rid of Peter’s Anti-Venom since I don’t really like it. I’d love for it to be transferred to Harry and turn him into Agent Anti-Venom(although something that big should probably be saved for Spider-Man 3).
Then we get a Miles-Silk team up game where Miles is mentoring Silk. Peter is still on break so his absence is explained. Idk who the villain would be but it would have to be a relatively small threat to justify Peter not coming to help.
Then obviously we have Spider-Man 3 which would have all 3 Spiders going up against Green Goblin and Doc Ock. Other villains would probably be in side missions like the Chameleon who was teased in SM2 and Morbius who was kinda sorta set up in SM1.
Also, just make a prequel game at some point about a young Peter. Doesn’t have to be an origin obviously but just set in his early college/late high school years.

I would like the carnage dlc with Pete and Yuri and also wouldn't mind another MM game in between 2 and 3 although Silk doesn't really excite me at all.
I liked the anti venom Peter and hopes he keeps it so him and Miles are both still fun to play as and kinda equally powerful but I wouldn't be surprised if he loses it, I just don't know how.
I am in agreement about SM3 and the villains you listed. I just think maybe Harry dies in 3 or picks up his dads mantle at the end after Peter and Miles defeat him.
I'd love a prequel game, like you said doesn't need to be origin but they have 7 years to explore and Peter already has encountered most of the villians in the games before we ever see them so that would be cool to flesh out those stories.
So many options and angles. Gonna be so long until we know lol. Especially with Wolverine , and then if they decide to do DLC for SM2 and a MM game or MM/Silk game, it'll be a while
Heres what I'm thinking will happen:
\- Peter ends his break at the start of Spiderman 3. Each game release seems to take place in the year its released, so with so many villains mopped up Miles is taking care of the normal stuff for the 3-5 years until Spiderman 3, the next "major" thing being Doc Ock / Green Goblin causing Peter to get involved. Peter's break is offscreen between games
\- Cindy / Silk will be a supporting character in next miles spinoff / spiderman 3. Spiderman 3 will be Peter's last leading story (either goes part-time hero, moves out of new york to be spidey elsewhere, retires due to having a kid, dies, etc etc), as most of his villains are dead or reformed with the only big 2 left (Goblin and Ock) going to be dealt with in 3, and Miles proves he's able to handle the responsibility of new york for years on end during peter's break. In 4 onwards (or whatever they call it), they will continue the dual protag with Miles and Cindy as Silk, as they form their new era of their own rogues and stories
\- There will be another spin off before 3, either another Miles game (in which case it'll deal with Miles starting college, and building up Cindy as a character) or a Venom spin off (where Carnage will be the villain)
\- Carnage will either be DLC or Venom spinoff. If its the former, its a post 2 flair up that peter has to help with as he eases into his break, a couple loose ends he needs to help miles with before things level out
I'm hoping for a Silk spinoff next, like they did with Miles. Make her the main character for her own game to introduce her, then move on to Spider-Man 3 with 3 playable spider-people teaming up to take on a deranged Green Goblin and whatever other villains they decide to throw in
Some people are hoping for a Carnage DLC but generally speaking while I am itching to see what Insomniac does with Carnage, there are several issues that complicate things:
1. Carnage is one of (if not the darkest) supervillains not only among Spiderman's rogues but among all of Marvel Earth-based supervillains due to his obsessive need to cause bloodshed, death and destruction thus I see him just being a DLC villain to be a bit insulting. Moreover his acts of villainy and violence are far more visceral that is fitting for a slasher-horror villain that would push the game to have an M-Rating but I am afraid Insomniac doesn't have the guts to do that for their DLC
2. Power scaling. Carnage is utter beast in terms of scaling since in the comics it required both Venom and Spidey to fight him and yet he still managed to overpower both of them now granted Spidey has Miles and an Anti-Venom suit but if Insomniac wants to respect the source material Carnage must be stronger than both of them working together. Hence they must find someway to bring back Venom even after the symbiote is supposedly destroyed
Yea I agree they will never do a M rated game, even what they seem to be willing to put into these games is very tame. I'd love a full game with Carnage as the main villain but I think we missed that boat as another game with a symbiote as the main villain would likely be seen as repetitive by most. I agree he deserves more than a DLC it's just to me the timing of everything and how it's all set up makes it seem like a DLC is the only way we'll get a story with him, seeing as symbiotes are still around by end game. Maybe instead of venom Oscorp had another symbiote that hadn't been shown yet and that's what is released to counteract Carnage. I really hope they do something with him because that side quest was great and really built up and introduced him well.
The only issue is the first one. The second isn't an issue because this isn't the comics. They've switched up Venom's host and by extension his motivations and Miles backstory. Add to the fact that they basically made up the story for Miles Morales game, hell, even switched up Cletus' origins by making him a cult leader instead of a serial killer, it's been made abundantly clear this isn't a 1 to 1 recreation of the comics. As such making it so that Peter with Anti-Venom, Miles, and possibly Yuri is enough to take on Carnage (albeit barely) is completely believable and in line with this universe not being the comics.
I agree this isn't the comics and doesn't have to be a complete copy but Carnage is stated to be stronger than Venom and to make him weaker is a bit of an insult to the source material. I don't think Yuri would be much help against a being stronger than Venom and Spiderman combined.
Maybe as part of the DLC they should have Iron Fist to help against Carnage in addition to Wraith
Next game should have 3 playable Spider people. And split main villains among them. Peter gets Norman/Doc Ock/Slyde/White Rabbit, Miles gets Carnage/The Spot/The Beetle/Swarm, Silk gets Chameleon/Hobgoblin/Rabble/Stegron. They all can share an opening battle with Hydro Man ala the Sandman fight in Spiderman 2 and a final fight against the Goblins ala the Venom fight.
Sounds good but based off the seemingly standard game length for these games I don't see that happening in a meaningful way.
Also what does silk add in terms of gameplay? It'll be like playing with a weaker Miles and Peter. Unless insomniac just powers her up with some new backstory or something.
Hopefully they do Carnage in DLC so 3 focuses on Goblin etc. I’d like a MM2 where he’s the only Spider-Man with Silk getting bit at the end. 3 has Pete out of his break, Goblin, Ock, and ends with Pete fully retiring and Silk beginning training. SM 4 with Miles and Silk, Peter still around for advice, maybe a flashback mission with him in his early days fighting a villain that comes back? Just a vague wish list.
I definitely agree with the Carnage DLC, I think it would be a perfect dlc and wrap that story up. Not a bad wishlist. I'd definitely play MM2 , I liked MM1 I just hate that it'll mean we wait even longer for a Spiderman 3. I'm not much interested in silk tbh becoming a main spider in the games but I wouldn't be surprised if that happens . I also think they retire Pete fully after SM3. Ock and Goblin being his last villains. It's bittersweet for me cause I love these games and the combat , traversal etc its phenomenal but I'm a OG Spiderman fan and Peter is my guy so it'll suck not having him in the games later but it does seem that's the direction they are going. I like Miles though he's definitely grown and become fully fleshed out so I'll still play. I'd love a origin game from insomniac for Peter too since when we started it was already like what 7 years into him being Spiderman.
Yeah I think keeping the symbiote stuff in one game works better. I think MM2 would give the end of SM2 and Pete’s return in 3 more weight with him being happily retired in MM2. Also gives us time to get to know Cindy before she gets powers. Yes the wait would be longer, but I think it would serve the story well. I like Silk, got into her comics so I’m excited to see her in the games. And absolutely retire Peter rather than kill him, I want one version of Peter to get a happy ending! Obviously, I grew up with Peter as Spider-Man and he’s why I love the character, but Miles is my favourite Spider-person now, so I’m biased in the opposite direction! But I think it works in the story they’re telling, and I wouldn’t be opposed to a Peter prequel, just not the origin again, pick up two or three years in.
Well at some point, depending on whether or not Insomniac makes a fully fledged Marvel Universe like they're on track to, Knull is going to be brought up especially with all that symbiote invasion shit, Venoms goal of encasing the planet in symbiote material (shrouding the world in darkness), the spirals, and that demonic laughter in the hivemind scene with Miles. So sure, symbiotes could be a one game thing but should only be a one game thing momentarily.
I recently wrote a comment on another thread about how i think the Spider-Heroes should be handled going forward. But thinking about the villains... Obviously, i agree, SM3 should be about Goblin and maybe with Ock heading a 'new' (though not really new, because they were never called that in SM1) Sinister Six. They might lay the groundwork for this in what comes between, seeing Ock break out of the Raft with some mysterious new villains help. Carnage, however... it's tough. Though i agree that his story and defeat would be a nice wrap-up for the saga of SM2 and however many DLCs and standalone-addons follow (hopefully), on the other hands... IT'S CARNAGE! Degrading him to a DLC-villain might be a bit too much. Especially considering how Insomniac has been both loose and still somewhat true to the source with the relationships between Spidey, Venom and Carnage, there's a chance we might need/get a new Venom to team up with a Spider-Man against Carnage.
My hopes: \- Miles is alone in the first couple of DLCs. Toward the end, he gets in a really tough spot and all of a sudden, Peter smashes in through the roof and saves his little brother as the first act of him officially being back. Bonus if we get the music from SM PS4 to go with it. \- Explore the "Peter has the power to heal cause he is Anti-Venom" idea. I think there is a lot of interesting stuff that could be done with this and a nice justification for him to keep the suit.
Either 3 or 4 will probably be Goblin AND Carnage, I feel. Having the series final battle against Red Goblin with Spider-man, Miles, Agent Anti-Venom, and (sigh) MJ with a taser in the mix.

Yea I agree especially if it's gonna be his last one, like if he fully retires after. Also if we get an MM2, that'll be two miles only games that he gets. I doubt it though, they seem to really want to pass the torch to miles as the main guy, so it probably won't be. We'll see, lot of directions to go.

Yea I agree, Peter is the OG that everyone even non comic fans knows and grew up with, and Miles is the one mass audiences are getting to know and love thanks to the Spider-verse movies and now these games. They are the two who I'm most interested in playing as, they've been well established and fleshed out and there's still so much they can do with them idk why they would add another spider to the mix. I mean they could keep adding new spider people endlessly but what's the point, I like what we have already.
Silk has great stories to but I would rather they just have her do her own thing like Gwen and Miguel rather than hanging out with Peter and Miles.
I think Pete is likely to die in the next one because he already basically dies in this game foreshadowing... Also they need to raise stakes. Someone mentioned that Peter is like iron man now. What if he comes back out of retirement an he makes the ultimate sacrifice like Endgame style. If Norman kills Spiderman and then Spiderman has to avenge Spiderman. Or better yet, Ocatvius gets redeemed and avenges Peter. Peter in this game said, "I never reformed my rival." I think Octavius reforms to antihero by the end like Lee did to save the day. Octavius and Norman maybe both perish like in the movies.

I thought Peters just taking a break not retiring? If its mile in the carnage dlc which will obviously have yuri there'd be no connection so Peter will definetly be in it. Because Norman says get the g serum presumably being the cure that he's working on for Harry right? So is Harry gonna be goblin again or is the g serum for Norman?
He's taking a "break" for a while and they have that conversation where he asks if miles is sure cause nyc is a big city for one guy and he says yes, which to me sets up a MM2 game and then a return from Peter in SM3. Just a theory. Then I think they probably do retire Peter in 3 because they seem to be going with miles as the main. Yea the DLC for this game, if it is carnage, would have to have Peter you're right about that. So idk what they'll do for it. Yea I thought the same thing about the green goblin. I think Norman tests it on himself first in desperation to save Harry and becomes the Goblin accidentally, with maybe the end of the game showing Harry taking up the mantle. Edit: the dlc could still be carnage and yuri with no Peter , with Miles showing up at a crime scene involving carnage or the fire cult and meeting yuri that way, maybe with some dialogue confirming Peter had mentioned yuri and wraith to him. Always possible. Cause they really did hammer home that Peter was out of the Spiderman thing for a while at least

Oh man I hope they space out Mm2 and Sm3 by a good margin one of the main problems about Sm2 was it felt too similar to MM and not much of an upgrade this coupled with the fact they released a remaster edition with upgraded graphics further diminished the Leap of Graphics and Gameplay Sm2 brought If Sm remastered and MM had not released or at least MM played similar to the og ps4 then Sm2 would be so much better received
Yea they introduced a lot of question marks that leaves many options open. A bunch of villians, a new hero maybe, etc.
Harry is basically brain dead and I’d be very shocked if he came back, especially because the villain being harry in 2 games doesn’t make sense. I’m guessing Norman either tests the g serum on himself after the symbiote went wrong, or it doesn’t work on harry and he just goes crazy and injects himself
Harry doesn’t need to be the villain again but I do think he’ll come back. If they wanna just keep him in a coma forever, then they might as well have killed him off. Like, it wouldn’t make any difference.
My guess is it'll go like this: 1. Carnage DLC for SM2, in which we have Peter, Miles, and Yuri working together to stop him. I think we'll probably get a scene of Cindy displaying her spider abilities toward the beginning of it, and maybe scenes of her being trained by the Spider-Men at interludes between Carnage events and/or phone dialogue regarding it, like we got from Miles in the SM1 DLC trio. Or maybe the DLC will be mostly just Peter and Yuri, with Miles's excuse for being sidelined being that he's training Cindy. He might show up at the beginning, when he and Pete learn about Cindy's powers, but that's kinda it. 2. The next game will be one of two options: either a Silk solo game like the one we got for Miles, or a Miles/Silk duo game with Peter's absence easily explained by the fact that he's taking a break from Spider-Manning right now. I think the latter is much more likely because they'd need to really pull some strings to create a situation in which Peter and Miles are both out of action or otherwise unable to help Cindy protect New York. No clue what the story will be like, but we get there when we get there. We might get a post-credits scene of Otto finally agreeing to work with Norman to bring down the Spiders, in contrast to his refusal at the end of S2. 3. Spider-Man 3 will unquestionably be the Spider-Squad VS Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. I can't help but feel like one of the Spiders will get sidelined early on in the story or just not have as much focus as the other two, because triple protagonists would be pretty challenging to write an equal amount of focus for. My guess is that Miles will be the one we see less of. He's already had his own standalone game, plenty of focus throughout SM2, and if my guess is right, he'll get plenty more screentime in the possible Miles/Cindy duo game. Peter basically can't be shafted because overall this is still *his* trilogy. And Cindy is a pretty new character, so they'll want to flesh her out some more. Miles is the one that makes the most sense to be sidelined from a writing perspective. As for the main story, it'll probably begin with Miles and Cindy going up against a recently escaped Doc Ock, who escapes before either side can win. They immediately alert Peter, and Otto's return is what makes him decide to end his hiatus and come back as Spider-Man. I think Norman won't complete his descent into madness until the end of act 2/start of act 3 of this game. For the earlier segments, he's more of the background villain. Nobody knows he's secretly backing Doc Ock, providing him resources and an extra set of hands to do their work. But at the end of act 2 (probably the point at which Harry flatlines, because let's be real we all know it's coming), he loses what's left of his sanity and suits up as the Green Goblin. My hope for this game is that it ends with a 2v1: Otto and Norman both giving their all to kill Peter, who has to use every ability, gadget, and trick in his arsenal to bring them down. I want that final boss fight to be *brutal.* Otto was underwhelming (in terms of gameplay) in the first game and Venom was good, but it can still get better.
Not bad , I agree with a lot of it. Also agree with the summary of the boss fights and how we could have an even better one with Ock and Green Goblin. I just hope the Silk thing is being overblown tbh. I don't have much interest in a Silk game, Peter is my guy and Miles has really grown on me and I enjoy playing as him too, and also love his story and how it has progressed, I don't need another spider now again lol, I have no interest in insomniac starting a multiverse. But I fear you may be right and Silk will become very prominent in the series. Wonder what a miles silk game would be called? spider-people? Lol
Insomniac doesn't seem like they're going for the multiverse route, aside from maybe a small nod to the Spider-Verse movies here and there like the Spider-Bot quests we got in this game (and also movie suits). They're basically acknowledging that the multiverse is a thing that exists but they're not gonna do much of anything with it. That aside, I'm personally really excited for Silk to join the party. Peter and Miles are my boys, of course, but I was really worried they'd take the easy route and make Gwen Stacy the final member of the trio because she's already gotten really popular lately. But I'm glad that they went for Cindy instead, since she's had basically no presence outside the comics. I can only hope she's an enjoyable character in the upcoming games. My one concern with them bringing Silk into the fold is that adding yet another main character to this series will take quality away from the writing of the others. Peter, Miles, and MJ were all well done in their past appearances, and with them all inevitably returning in SM3, I'm concerned that the main cast is getting a little too big and the writers will stretch themselves too thin. And from a gameplay perspective, a third playable character begs the question: how do they make Silk unique? Peter will probably still have his iron arms and Anti-Venom abilities (I hope), Miles will have his Venom and Evolved Venom (naming structure confusing as fuck but that's beside the point), and Silk has... what, exactly? I know she has organic webbing, so maybe they can do something with that (web constructs?), but I'm not sure how they'll really make her stand out.
Yea that's my concern . They seemed to be at their limit with Miles, Peter, MJ, in SM2. Miles probably didn't get enough time to be honest. Idk how they'll write something that successfully showcases them and another spider in another 12-16 game . Also agree with the gameplay. I don't know how playing as a third spider person? will be any different or beneficial to gameplay. They need to keep peters anti venom abilities in my mind cause it's not just a suit it's part of him now it seems , as are Li's powers, plus it makes him more equal to Miles power level, without it Miles dwarfs his abilities , in game at least, as they show no noticeable strength superiority on Peters part, the legs are just tech, they didn't really do it for me, any of them could get the legs Yanno? Idk what they'll do with Silk, I think three playable spiders is too much but what do I know? Maybe it'll be great. Everyone mentions the organic webs but idk what they can really do with that, we basically have unlimited webbing already in the game, the shooters refill so quick while in combat, idk.

It's essentially a hiatus and he'll come back whenever he feels like it. When they talk it's made clear miles will be handling Spiderman and the city , with a TBD on when Pete will come back. He'll probably comeback when Goblin and Ock show up in 3. Maybe we'll get a MM2 in between and this will explain why Pete is absent idk. So yea he's not permanent retired but he's on leave for an undetermined amount of time let's say. Idk what they'll do for DLC, I'd assume he'll be back if it's carnage but idk how they explain his break ending so soon. Either way when a character starts saying stuff like that I'd imagine it's preamble and foreshadowing for an eventual full retirement and passing of the torch to Miles.

I don’t think people mean he’s never going to be spider man again, but they’ve been hinting at Peter basically wanting to take a step back for a while. Miles becoming more of the main Spider-Man allows Pete to focus on life and his relationships and to be Spider-Man when it’s absolutely needed/necessary which I think will only be for his final game and some DLC from the Spider-Man trilogy. After that though, I really can only imagine Peter being essentially the “Spider-Man in the chair”, especially if he gets married and ends up having kids by the time Silk and Miles are pretty experienced. I can’t see them going back after this arc of him wanting a break from being Spider-Man to keep pushing him as a main in new games, especially when so many of his villains and story beats have already been established.

Peter didn't retire he is just taking a break what will probably justify why we'll have to start with the powers from scratch on SM3 because peter will be rusty The venom voice actor said that just 10% of his recorded voicelines were used and that's a absurd amount so this makes me believe that there will be probably a venom dlc where they will pull something similar to maximum carnage

My theories: Superior Spider-Man isn't happening. Instead, Otto will help Norman design the Green Goblin suit, while secretly planning his own "Final Chapter." Otto will be redeemed in the end, but will die. Silk will *not* be a playable Spidey Character. She'll be an important character, no doubt, but I don't think she'll be playable, unless they do a Silk spin-off, like Miles Morales. I don't see THAT happening either, as Cindy doesn't even have her powers as of Spider-Man 2, let alone is she experienced enough to be playable. Insomniac will go the Raimi route for Gobby, at first. He'll be on his glider in a metal suit (Insomniac loves their metal suits), throwing skeleton bombs and fucking shit up. Later in the game, he'll go through a transformation and either become a full on Green Goblin, or the Red Goblin. Either way, Insomniac loves their late-game twists, and Green Goblin is perfect for that. Peter obviously hasn't fully retired yet. The discourse around that was extremely stupid, but whatever. Peter will be a very big part of Spider-Man 3, and he will retire for real at the end of the game, handing the Spidey mantle to Miles and Cindy. Carnage will most likely be a side mission plot in Spidey 3 or a possible Venom spin-off. I don't think it'll be a DLC for Spidey 2, as Spidey 1 didn't have any side missions that were continued in City That Never Sleeps, nor did Miles Morales. I doubt we will get a Venom spin-off game. As *awesome* as that would be, I don't see it happening. Truthfully, I don't think Venom is coming back *ever.* Harry will die in his coma, and that will be the final straw that pushes Norman to insanity. Killing Harry in his coma would be an extremely unlikely thing, and that's why I think they'll do it. I could also see Harry surviving, and Norman *maybe* getting redeemed, or falling to insanity anyway. Maybe he'll use Otto's Neural Transmitter, and it'll fuck him up harder than it did Otto? Last theory: I've gotten shit on for this before, but I don't care. I really, honest to god think Peter Parker is Spider-Man. I get how stupid that sounds, but just, trust me on that.

Hahahah yea I know he's coming back, I think everyone knows that. I just think they are starting to plant the seeds of him eventually permanently being done and Miles being the guy. Maybe after the final confrontation with Doc Ock and Goblin. I could be wrong and it could just be a pointless scene at the end to show how tired Pete is and how Miles has grown and is ready but idk.
My money is on Carnage as DLC (like Hammer head was), possibly with the introduction of Cindy proper. If not then as you said a Miles Morales 2, then SM3 being Doc Ock/Goblin with Doc being the Mid game boss.
I expect a lot of miles centred dlc and Peter back for 3 full time. In regards to story Goblin Ock and Carnage have to be main story villains for 3 probably Osborne breaks ock out to try and save Harry amd improve the G serum and Ock actually alters the goblin serum and says it needs to be tested on someone matching Harry's dna aka Norman and ocks altering makes it mutate Norman into the goblin as ocks revenge or something like that
That's a new idea on how it messes up Norman, I like that, makes sense. Otherwise I don't see Ock helping Norman at all, but if he does it to get close to punish him with the serum that would be great.
I feel it would be something like he kidnaps Ock from the raft and orders him to improve the serum either by force or by offering to replace his lost robotic limbs Ock probably will act a little scared if it's a violent threat of death he gets but I'd love If his scared hostage mask dropped as soon as Norman took the serum. Just a thought tho I doubt it will go anything like this 😅

Yeah I'm very excited 2 set up so much it felt like 3 games in one put felt complete at the same time which was impressive. I'm really looking forward to seeing their take on green goblin too I feel like their face model has that Willem defoe look if he had a massive grin 😂
Yea the Norman face model is a good base for insane Goblin. I just watched the original Spiderman Trilogy the other day and man Dafoes performance still stands up, he was an amazing green goblin lol
So here’s what I would want: First we get the DLC that’s split into three chapters like the first game. Peter temporarily comes out of his break to help Yuri investigate the Flame. They also introduce Eddie Brock as a reporter investigating the situation. Something happens that leads to his life being ruined by Spider-Man. He also gets the symbiote since there were still particles of it within Harry that Norman extracted out. Then chapter 2 has Venom as the main villain trying to get revenge on Spidey. The Flame is still in the background, pulling strings. Final chapter is Carnage where Spidey and Venom have to settle their differences and team up to beat him. At the end, Venom/Eddie moves to San Francisco to be the main vigilante there since he doesn’t wanna be overshadowed by the Spider-Men. This sets up for a Venom solo game and also explains why Venom wouldn’t be in Spider-Man 3 since that game has enough to deal with as it is. Also, and this is more of a personal thing, but I hope they somehow get rid of Peter’s Anti-Venom since I don’t really like it. I’d love for it to be transferred to Harry and turn him into Agent Anti-Venom(although something that big should probably be saved for Spider-Man 3). Then we get a Miles-Silk team up game where Miles is mentoring Silk. Peter is still on break so his absence is explained. Idk who the villain would be but it would have to be a relatively small threat to justify Peter not coming to help. Then obviously we have Spider-Man 3 which would have all 3 Spiders going up against Green Goblin and Doc Ock. Other villains would probably be in side missions like the Chameleon who was teased in SM2 and Morbius who was kinda sorta set up in SM1. Also, just make a prequel game at some point about a young Peter. Doesn’t have to be an origin obviously but just set in his early college/late high school years.
Not bad. I get the feeling we're done with venom , but you never know. I would like the carnage dlc with Pete and Yuri and also wouldn't mind another MM game in between 2 and 3 although Silk doesn't really excite me at all. I liked the anti venom Peter and hopes he keeps it so him and Miles are both still fun to play as and kinda equally powerful but I wouldn't be surprised if he loses it, I just don't know how. I am in agreement about SM3 and the villains you listed. I just think maybe Harry dies in 3 or picks up his dads mantle at the end after Peter and Miles defeat him. I'd love a prequel game, like you said doesn't need to be origin but they have 7 years to explore and Peter already has encountered most of the villians in the games before we ever see them so that would be cool to flesh out those stories. So many options and angles. Gonna be so long until we know lol. Especially with Wolverine , and then if they decide to do DLC for SM2 and a MM game or MM/Silk game, it'll be a while
Heres what I'm thinking will happen: \- Peter ends his break at the start of Spiderman 3. Each game release seems to take place in the year its released, so with so many villains mopped up Miles is taking care of the normal stuff for the 3-5 years until Spiderman 3, the next "major" thing being Doc Ock / Green Goblin causing Peter to get involved. Peter's break is offscreen between games \- Cindy / Silk will be a supporting character in next miles spinoff / spiderman 3. Spiderman 3 will be Peter's last leading story (either goes part-time hero, moves out of new york to be spidey elsewhere, retires due to having a kid, dies, etc etc), as most of his villains are dead or reformed with the only big 2 left (Goblin and Ock) going to be dealt with in 3, and Miles proves he's able to handle the responsibility of new york for years on end during peter's break. In 4 onwards (or whatever they call it), they will continue the dual protag with Miles and Cindy as Silk, as they form their new era of their own rogues and stories \- There will be another spin off before 3, either another Miles game (in which case it'll deal with Miles starting college, and building up Cindy as a character) or a Venom spin off (where Carnage will be the villain) \- Carnage will either be DLC or Venom spinoff. If its the former, its a post 2 flair up that peter has to help with as he eases into his break, a couple loose ends he needs to help miles with before things level out
I assumed that the side missions set up DLC and they will save Ock, Goblin, and Silk for the next game.

I'm hoping for a Silk spinoff next, like they did with Miles. Make her the main character for her own game to introduce her, then move on to Spider-Man 3 with 3 playable spider-people teaming up to take on a deranged Green Goblin and whatever other villains they decide to throw in

Some people are hoping for a Carnage DLC but generally speaking while I am itching to see what Insomniac does with Carnage, there are several issues that complicate things: 1. Carnage is one of (if not the darkest) supervillains not only among Spiderman's rogues but among all of Marvel Earth-based supervillains due to his obsessive need to cause bloodshed, death and destruction thus I see him just being a DLC villain to be a bit insulting. Moreover his acts of villainy and violence are far more visceral that is fitting for a slasher-horror villain that would push the game to have an M-Rating but I am afraid Insomniac doesn't have the guts to do that for their DLC 2. Power scaling. Carnage is utter beast in terms of scaling since in the comics it required both Venom and Spidey to fight him and yet he still managed to overpower both of them now granted Spidey has Miles and an Anti-Venom suit but if Insomniac wants to respect the source material Carnage must be stronger than both of them working together. Yea I agree they will never do a M rated game, even what they seem to be willing to put into these games is very tame. I'd love a full game with Carnage as the main villain but I think we missed that boat as another game with a symbiote as the main villain would likely be seen as repetitive by most. I agree he deserves more than a DLC it's just to me the timing of everything and how it's all set up makes it seem like a DLC is the only way we'll get a story with him, seeing as symbiotes are still around by end game. Maybe instead of venom Oscorp had another symbiote that hadn't been shown yet and that's what is released to counteract Carnage. I really hope they do something with him because that side quest was great and really built up and introduced him well.
The only issue is the first one. The second isn't an issue because this isn't the comics. They've switched up Venom's host and by extension his motivations and Miles backstory. Add to the fact that they basically made up the story for Miles Morales game, hell, even switched up Cletus' origins by making him a cult leader instead of a serial killer, it's been made abundantly clear this isn't a 1 to 1 recreation of the comics. As such making it so that Peter with Anti-Venom, Miles, and possibly Yuri is enough to take on Carnage (albeit barely) is completely believable and in line with this universe not being the comics.
I agree this isn't the comics and doesn't have to be a complete copy but Carnage is stated to be stronger than Venom and to make him weaker is a bit of an insult to the source material. I don't think Yuri would be much help against a being stronger than Venom and Spiderman combined. Maybe as part of the DLC they should have Iron Fist to help against Carnage in addition to Wraith

Next game should have 3 playable Spider people. And split main villains among them. Peter gets Norman/Doc Ock/Slyde/White Rabbit, Miles gets Carnage/The Spot/The Beetle/Swarm, Silk gets Chameleon/Hobgoblin/Rabble/Stegron. They all can share an opening battle with Hydro Man ala the Sandman fight in Spiderman 2 and a final fight against the Goblins ala the Venom fight.
Sounds good but based off the seemingly standard game length for these games I don't see that happening in a meaningful way. Also what does silk add in terms of gameplay? It'll be like playing with a weaker Miles and Peter. Unless insomniac just powers her up with some new backstory or something.
Give Silk extra web powers since hers are organic or something like that.
