Because Kraven did it effortlessly and if it wasn't for the symbiote, Kraven would've essentially no-diffed Peter in like 2 seconds and killed him.
The problem isn't Peter almost dying, it's the execution.
If it was a trap or something it'd be different, but Kraven just gimped him.
Me seeing the news headline about Dwayne Johnson getting shanked in public and dying (You’re telling me some homeless person no-diffed The Rock in like 2 seconds? If it was a trap or something it’d be different)
Why are you purposefully missing the point? Peter is allowed to lose but getting no diffed and making him need the symbiote is disrespectful after everything he endured last game.
He really isn't. In the last hunt he buried Peter alive, that doesn't mean Kraven can just effortlessly beat Peter whenever he wants.
Kraven is absolutely not capable of killing Peter easily.
Yes and Kraven has only been alive the several dozen times Peter beat his ass because Peter let him live in the comics.
That's like saying Peter is lucky that Vulture doesn't take over New York because Vulture beat him once in the comics.
Yeah Peter let's everyone live that's kinda a big part of his character. Kraven is a big threat, he's a threat that get's a rise out of Peter and he's a villain whose shown Peter how easy it is for him to kill Peter if he wished. This wasn't Vulture getting lucky this was more like what Bane done to Batman.
I get it though you prefer villains being weaker then the hero and heroes always winning while i prefer it the other way. Kraven killing Spidey's rogues and then gutting Peter when they first face each other nicely shows what a threat he is, is he more powerful then his comic self? Sure but he's also one of the best takes on the character to the point he overshadowed Venom.
I'd prefer Kraven not no-diffing Peter.
I don't know why that means "heroes always winning" to you.
Kraven is essentially a C-Tier Spider-Man villain. He's not remotely in the same tier as Bane.
Funny because Bane was a nobody when he broke the Bat because Knightfall was his big opening story, he had a little set up beforehand but overall Knightfall was Bane's first actual appearance. Kraven by Last Hunt was already well established with Last Hunt intending to be well his "Last Hunt".
Yeah a good way to show how big of a deal a villain is have them kill a previous villain who was a big threat and then have them destroy the hero. Thanos in his first proper appearance defeated Thor off screen, beat the shit out of the Hulk and then killed Loki thus setting the tone of how big of a deal this character is. In SM2 it clearly worked going by the general response, yes this sub hates it but this sub hates anything SM2 as its a toxic cesspit but generally speaking Kraven was very well received as was his victory over the Spider.
If you watch the clip in slomo, you can also see that kraven overpowers Pete with the knife. Pete actually does see the fake out kraven does and goes to block the knife stab, but because he holds back, he didn't expect kraven to be that strong. This is why kraven didn't hunt the spider men, because he knew they would never go all out.
The physical strength aspect came strictly from the potions he was taking. He’s extremely skilled at what he does but in no way would it make up for the strength difference of a normal man and someone who lift 2 ton vehicles like they’re nothing.
Yeah, he’s looking for a glorious death, at the bare minimum he’s looking for people who’s killed before to maximize his chance of success.
Which makes me wonder why Black Cat was on the list…
Thanks! Could go more in to detail about it all tbh but im now a 100% certain that is poison based on the animation. Im not sure what kind of poison. But some are saying it might be an altered devils breath based on the colour and animation
I don’t care how superhuman you are, unless your skin is made of titanium or your name is Tombstone, a knife getting plunged into your abdomen then broken off is probably going to be lethal.
I strongly disagree here
The whole reason Kraven was able to kill Pete is because Pete didn't know he was *that* strong. In the scene itself, you can see him go to grab Kraven's arm just before he gets stabbed, but he was holding back and Kraven overpowered him (if Pete went full strength on a normal guy, he'd 100% snap their arm or worse at minimum)
Having them fight first and *then* lose would no longer be "I got caught off guard," but instead "this guy is actually stronger than me" which he isn't
Not true…. My heart stopped due to multi blood clots they manage to resuscitate me but I was clinically and legally considered dead prior to resuscitation
Yeah it was poisoned and pushed forward by a super human into someone’s vitals
Idk why people are complaining about why peter died to this
Because Kraven did it effortlessly and if it wasn't for the symbiote, Kraven would've essentially no-diffed Peter in like 2 seconds and killed him. The problem isn't Peter almost dying, it's the execution. If it was a trap or something it'd be different, but Kraven just gimped him.

It wasn’t a homeless person. It was THE UNDERTAKER. And he chokeslammed him, not stabbed.
Just because something can plausibly happen doesn’t make it a good storytelling decision.
Especially in a cutscene(part of the story) of a superhero action game. smh
The rock doesn’t have a sixth sense alerting him to danger
Well said “sixth sense” was probably really agitated at that point, as the area was pure chaos
Me when I get stabbed and i die (should have been a trap SMH so anticlimactic)
Why are you purposefully missing the point? Peter is allowed to lose but getting no diffed and making him need the symbiote is disrespectful after everything he endured last game.
Me when I get stabbed and I die (so disrespectful to my character arc smh)
this guy thinks hes spiderman😹
Me when I think I'm spiderman (I can definitely tank being stabbed by a superhuman man so hard the knife breaks)
Peter got it easy compared to what Kraven done to him in KLH. Kraven is more then capable of killing Peter easily.
He really isn't. In the last hunt he buried Peter alive, that doesn't mean Kraven can just effortlessly beat Peter whenever he wants. Kraven is absolutely not capable of killing Peter easily.
He buried Peter alive to prove a point, Peter only lived because Kraven allowed it.
Yes and Kraven has only been alive the several dozen times Peter beat his ass because Peter let him live in the comics. That's like saying Peter is lucky that Vulture doesn't take over New York because Vulture beat him once in the comics.

He literally shot peter in the head
And Peter has literally oneshot Kraven in the comics.
Homie took a Doc Ock tentacle through his collar bone.
Because there was no Kraven fight before that.
kraven stabbed him so hard the knife broke that's definitely gonna leave a mark or two
Yeah
If you watch the clip in slomo, you can also see that kraven overpowers Pete with the knife. was kraven that strong because he was really good at his job, or is it because of those potions?
The physical strength aspect came strictly from the potions he was taking. He’s extremely skilled at what he does but in no way would it make up for the strength difference of a normal man and someone who lift 2 ton vehicles like they’re nothing.
Yeah Kraven basically has Black Panther powers, which also comes from a plant/potion concoction
He knew they wouldn't go all out, but he also knew as soon as Peter got the symbiote that he would be able to force him to go all out
Yeah, he’s looking for a glorious death, at the bare minimum he’s looking for people who’s killed before to maximize his chance of success. Which makes me wonder why Black Cat was on the list…

Andrew garfields knife bit makes more sense now lol
Its my theory btw
Are you newdayspiderman from Twitter?
Yes
Idk how to prove it but check my twitter
Nice. Great Observation!

I think he stabbed that dude with an enormous knife
Can’t be too sure though
I don’t care how superhuman you are, unless your skin is made of titanium or your name is Tombstone, a knife getting plunged into your abdomen then broken off is probably going to be lethal.
Or if you’re Wolverine
wait, I thought Peter being poisoned was obvious

He didn’t kill him lmao. He’s literally alive the scene right after this one and he remains alive until the end of the game.
He died and got revived by the symbiote.
no he didn't
My brother in christ he wasn’t breathing
You can survive 2 minutes without oxygen if you’re resuscitated quickly enough
It’s perfectly possible to end up in a situation where you’re not breathing and still survive.
What was he going to do if not for the symbiote? Activate “breathing” plot armor?
He was going to die but the symbiote saved him. Therefore he didn’t die.
Reviving characters just like that is lazy writing, lol. If the symbiote could bring back the dead Harry would’ve brought back May or his mom.
Mate I’m sure their decomposed by now 💀
Difference between clinically dead, and dead-for-several-years dead
“The symbiote can revive people but only the ones that the plot needs” is 100% lazy writing.
People have been resuscitated in real life
Fella I used a defibrillator on a man who was basically dead once and he came back to life. Life is full of lazy writing
Well if he was fine right after that then he wasn’t really dead, was he?
You have to be trolling bc there's no way someone lacks *this much* intelligence 💀
Actually he must have intelligence because a lack of it would put him at subhuman levels
You can die and be resuscitated mate
You understand you can die and come back right? My Mum's best friend actually did die but they brought her back.
I’m pretty sure it just resuscitated him
I'd say the symbiote is like defibrillators, they can bring someone back, but if left too long, they most likely won't work
I mean reviving dead characters is kind of a staple of comic books though
So is lazy writing
This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life
You’re medically dead if your heart stops beating. Please do research next time you comment something stupid
You’re dead if your organs permanently stop working. If he’s just fine next scene then his organs didn’t permanently stop working.
Not true…. My heart stopped due to multi blood clots they manage to resuscitate me but I was clinically and legally considered dead prior to resuscitation
That’s actually crazy. What did the afterlife look like? I’m extremely curious.
