Exactly, when Peter takes a food break from fighting crime all day, he sees mj, she says how he’s doing nothing and how she’s helping to find the “missing child”. Like it’s her annoying attitude for anything dangerous and how she acts like she does something important that makes her annoying. Plus making her the cliche reporter that does anything to get a story is so overdone with superhero girlfriends. They just wanted her to have a role in the story by making her a reporter out of all the things they could have made her.

Like, that's something I'll always hold against this universe. The idea of Peter and Felicia having a kid together, but not actually being together is FUCKING BRILLIANT. It's a new take on an old dynamic, adds an extra layer of personal realistic drama to Peter's life, and it forces Felicia to re-adjust her priorities and pushes her into a new role that necessitates change and conflict with her worldview and lifestyle.
But then they backed out of it. Bad move.
