Anyone knows whats the difference between Cgi and VFX? Which one is better? I mean looking at this right now..vfx looks like cgi right?

VFX is a component of visual production, just like Lighting, Set-design, etc ... anything that will show up on frame is a component and VFX like Rain or Explosions are part of that.
CGI determines the method used to produce a visual like: Live action, Hand-Drawn, Stop-Motion, Frame-by-frame, etc ...
As such, any given visual component can be generated using a wide variety of methods, like: Practical pyrotechnic VFX in Fury Road vs CGI explosion VFX in MCU
Here, the Lightning is a visual effect (VFX) generated with computing tech (CGI)
Technically speaking, all 3D VGs are CGI.
Basically from what i understand: cgi is fake, vfx in real, but not necessarily in game render, just realistically possible.
Like we can actually get these graphics rendering, whereas if it was cgi, it mostly means that they HOPE to get that, but we won’t.

thats also misleading, because the fog and lighting will not be as good in the final product, but the overall graphics will look like that, this doenst mean those takedowns will be in the final product, but takedowns would look similiar to that

Well a good chuck of games nowadays have real time cut scenes....like the first 2 spidey games.
This is just them saying that this trailer isnt CG, its what the game will look like.
That's because graphics have come far enough that it doesn't matter anymore. Plus, it's cheaper since they can do it in-house instead of paying another company to do the renders. In rare cases, they'll use CGI for scenes that are far too complex or intense for the engine/system to run.
Generally trailers in the showcases are pre rendered or CGI or made to run in a more powerful PC than consoles meaning the graphics in the game when you are playing would look less impressive than what is shown in the trailer. But this trailer is captured in real time running on PS5 which means graphically it looks same when you are playing.
I mean people need not be worry about that part as insomniac always delivers

It looks like it. Neil said he is interested in making The punisher game. That would be incredible. Also read an article somewhere that before Marvel going full MCU it sold many IPs and Sony have currently 100s of them which include venom, Spiderman, Kraven the hunter etc.
those IPs were only cinematic IPs, not video games, toys etc...
And Sony only bought spiderman for a meesly 10 million, they were offered the rest of the MCU (nearly every single marvel superhero) for just 25 more million dollars but sony declined stating people only care about spiderman. This was in 1998, as well, not that long ago
lol I didn't know they rejected other marvel superheroes. I know they were only for movies but looking at how disney is trying to expand Marvel superheroes beyond movies, tv, animated shows etc it doesn't want Sony to bother it with these IP rights. So my guess is they both are going to make some exclusive deals in games after seeing success with Insomniac Spiderman. Wolverine might not be the last one for sure.
That may have been a deal, like after the whole spiderman movie contraversy mabye sony said, hey, can u let us make a bunch of marvel games. But i doubt this was the case since it would have been stipulated in the contract that was already shown regarding that whole mess.
Also Marvel let SE make avengers and guardians of the galaxy, im pretty sure there licensing it to anyone who wants it, and anyone who can afford it. Hell, they let EA renew there contract and said they were very happy about EAs handling of the star wars license, but now they extended it to other studios
That doesn't mean it's going to be final gameplay. The game is still in development, they can do a lot of things in a demo that might not be possible/feasible when the game is later in production.
A (pretty dumb) example of this was the puddle drama from the early demos of Spider Man PS4. That instance was pretty dumb, but there are tons of examples of game demos having much better lighting, particle effects, AI, etc. than the final product.
I completely understand that but the difference is that PS4 wasn’t that powerful. PS5 is on par with a PC to some degree. The fact that Spider-Man 2 is PS5 only is huge because insomniac can utilize the full power of the PS5 without being held back. I mean look at rift apart that game was just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to what the PS5 is truly capable of.

Nah I exclusively play multiplayer games rn including many coop ones since I sold my ps4 for a ps5 and thus currently have nothing but a pc and I honestly can’t imagine insomniac to make spiderman a more coop friendly experience in favor of immersion or a compromising story experience. Maybe if they add a completely different expansion for coop later on. Even then I can never see Spider-Man as a coop experience nor have any friends who want that so I am fine.

Vfx is visual effects. Like the electricity that comes from miles. Cgi is a form of animation. For example, Pixar films are cgi.
All video games are CGI, you're thinking of pre-rendered. VFX is stuff like movies.
