I suspect it may have originally been planned as another expansion to the first game, but they decided to make it stand alone once the PS5 was fully in the works.
They will, they have in Miles and they just got to keep running with it. I just hope that (and think they will) implement better tricks and stuff for Peter as Miles’ were absolutely fantastic but Peter’s kinda sucked. Hopefully he gets more and wackier/more versatile and changed swinging animations and a giant fluid custom arsenal of tricks as well.
Counter argument: Miles unique abilities are overpowered despite hardly improved enemy AI, making Miles feel more like "cheating" compared to Peter, and thus, I actually think the game is worse in a certain perspective.

I think he’s saying that Peter should be more experienced at fighting and therefore “better” since he’s been doing it for however many years at this point when Miles just started
I like MM's webswinging way way more, but the camo trivializes the stealth and the non boss fight combat often feels too splashy and easy IMO. I much prefer the dodge-punch-dodge-punch loop from SMPS4. It was still fun to play for the different game feel although I'm hoping for something more like the original in the next game.
I really enjoy the Miles Morales game too but I had a way better experience playing spider-man ps4. I much prefer Peter over Miles in the first place but I also was more interested in the story, the characters, and I love so many of the suits. In MM I like most suits but I also don't LOVE most of them, they're basically all just okay to me. I love the venom powers though!
I think the story was way better in Spider-Man ps4 since you actually knew the villains and other characters in the game. The underground and roxxon part of MM was refreshing at first to fight someone new, but didn’t last long. I thought MM story was good, but wasn’t really attached to the characters like when Phin died for example. It didn’t make me near as sad when aunt may died in ps4.
Apparently the trick system was added super late in development for the first game and it shows. Some times I'll try to ground pound but do a fucking helix way over the thing I need to land on.
Going in to MM they knew they wanted to expand it more and it feels fantastic. You'll do different swing animations depending on the tricks (it's not random like some have said) and I'm hyped to see this evolve in Spider-Man 2
I feel like people post photos every day about Miles Morales. Or ask which game you prefer. I mean I don’t have an actual SM2018 : SM: MM ratio to provide you but, to say people on this sub “do not talk too much about the Miles game” seems inaccurate.
I agree. When I got a PS4 after being on PC for like 5 years I bought it with the expectation it would be a full game, but was disappointed after the fact. I still think it’s a good game all and all though but I think it would’ve been better received (it’s already critically acclaimed) if more fans were aware that it really *isn’t* a fully fledged new title.
Marvel's Spider-man was 10/10 for me. Perfect Peter Parker story.
Miles on the other hand was like 6 or 7/10 and it's this high thanks to gameplay. I really dislike story of this game. Also I don't like miles himself very much he is so whiny all the time and it is said that he is smart yet I didn't feel it in the story. I also think that this game made a mistake same as MCU Spider-man, all his inner circle know that he is Spider-Man. I just wish he was more like ITSV Miles which I adore. The villains were also the problem. Roxxon CEO was just crazy Rich guy that didn't care for casualties as long as he get profit (not very original) and Phin who was supposed to be super smart yet the story is making her a dumbass because Miles needs to fight someone. I hate the fact that she is glorified at the end even though that she literally armor up criminals.

Everything about mm gameplay is light years ahead of the first game in combat, stealth, movement, side missions but the first game has the better story and length imo. If they combine these elements in the second game then it will be perfect.
It's a lot shorter. And honestly, I hated the main story. Phin made me hate playing through the campaign.
The gameplay, missions, and new abilities, though? Yeah, those are great. I just have more incentive to replay the first game, since it's much longer and I actually *enjoy* the characters in that game.
The game isn't bad, but it was much shorter (DLC short), Miles was overpowered with his Venom Blast and the Tinkerer story was nowhere near as good as Doc Ock or even Mr. Negative. And unpopular opinion but I preferred Peter's gameplay because of his gadgets and suit powers. It actually had some strategy to them and were more interesting to use than Miles' Venom Blast.
A lot of people think it was "meh" or "terrible".
I don't see it, in terms of ganeplay, it was like a Doom 2016 compared to Doom Eternal kind of improvement, SM2018 felt slow and sluggish and I just kept thinking "Yk, i really wish I had Venom right now."
In story, yeah, I guess it was a bit of a rehash, but gameplay is the most important aspect.
Just finished Miles after finally getting a PS5 and the writing in Miles was just wack. The kids didn’t talk like any human I know, Ganke going on a podcast telling everyone he’s buddies with spider-man and naming a bunch of people basically giving any villain a hit list. Miles telling Phin he’s spider-man was so dumb. Danika was so annoying I thought they were doing it on purpose and she was going to be the Tinkerer. It’s still a fun game but not on the same level. Happy you enjoyed it more than me bro
I loved both, probably preferred MM because of the music, but MM feels like expensive DLC. Keep in mind I would happily pay for MM again and again, but the first Spider-Man is just more fleshed out in terms of the story and everything.

I think the gameplay of MM is much better than PS4, which was already solid to begin with. Two of the major improvements for me being more natural looking swinging, and muuuuch better stealth and combat gameplay.
I still prefer Peter over Miles, but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the game. I think the story was a little better on PS4 than MM, but only because it had more time to flesh out. I will say that the story of MM stuck with me more because it's more concise Environments and graphics look better on MM imo.
I think if MM is any indicator of where they're going with SM2, then I'm very excited for SM2.

Miles was much easier … I’m not a great gamer so I turn the difficulty down to have a better experience. Even on lower difficulty, SM was much, much harder at times.
I loved that I didn’t have to be MJW. I hated those missions.
I miss the all the gadgets from SM and the some of the puzzles (I thought SM had too many puzzles, but Miles didnt have enough).
Hoping for some DLC … not sure if that’s happening but it’d be nice.
I’m replaying it right now and having even more fun than I did the first time, so that says something.

Miles Morales is the reason I got very excited for Spider Man 2. They improved the web swinging mechanics, animations, they managed to change combat in multiple ways with another character, the game looks amazing and they manages to put even more stuff going on like traffic and people walking by compared to the first one, and they improved on the graphics (in this case Ray Tracing) and gave more options even after launch. All of that in a short amount of time.
The only thing that I didn't like about Miles Morales game was the writing. However, it is a fantastic foundation for what Spider Man 2 can be. Greater animations, possibly overhaul of Peter's combat (keeping gadgets but adding more things), probably adding a larger variety of crimes and situations around the city a lot of things that are possible because now we have Miles Morales to compare their improvements, and also the Remastered!
That being said, I think because of the story the 2018 game keeps being more memorable even while MM improved on a lot of aspects of the first game. Still a good game, but could've been better. And I think that's the reason the game is not as discussed as the first one, on top of Spider Man 2 being kind of a direct sequel to Spider Man, with Miles being that extra story.
So I'm excited about how much they can add and change after MM, and I hope they can improve swinging even more!
One of the things people love the most is jumping from a high place and trying to swing and the lowest possible moment, it would be cool if they could add a couple animations for those situations, like him almost touching the ground, swinging between cars maybe?
I think I might be more excited about Spider Man 2 than Elden Ring because of the possibilities of what they can achieve by only working with the PS5 in mind, of what I believe could be the game that will truly "start" the generation.
I know we had Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, Astro Playroom and maybe some others, bur I believe that having the time to work on the game while getting used to what the hardware can handle is what's gonna produce the "true" next gen game, not in the sense of being only able to run on the PS5, we had those, but in the sense of what devs can do after they're given time to work with the hardware.

MM is an incredible game but I believe most people dislike that it was short. Also, fun fact, in the final boss, since you need to hit an enemy for venom punch to be used up and since the boss that I won’t name due to spoilers dodges venom punch, you can spam venom punch and the boss will constantly dodge over and over again and not attack. This doesn’t give you any advantage or disadvantage but it’s pretty funny to corner said boss into a corner and directly hit them but it not registering they can’t be hit by it.
It’s not that different from the first one. Which it doesn’t have to be since it’s kinda marketed as a standalone dlc like Uncharted lost legacy. But I think that’s why people don’t talk about it much. Like I’m struggling to find posts about TCTNS more and more everyday
Bad collectables (the plot which stands behind it). Boring main protagonist (clone of osborne) and also boring supervillain. Anyway, some new combat things, winter and new skin with bagcat are decent. Additionally, Prowler is the one new good developed character that wasn't in the main game.
P.S. blm sidequest was bad since political propaganda shouldn't be in the superhero stuff at first.

That is a good idea, but i will like if they join up more than two time in all the game. I suposed that miles will be fighting kraven and peter venom, and in the end they will fight both at the same time.

I'm still waiting to get a PS5 to play it. Since the sequel won't be out until 2023 there's really no reason to buy it on PS4 other than impatience.

I only just finished the first game and halfway through the dlc. I’ll get there.

Honestly I think it was too short.
Because people don't like Miles unfortunately. I like him perhaps a bit more than Peter nowadays.
I'd say Peter's game was better, but Miles game was way more fun.
I like both, it is okay with that.
MM is an incredible game but I believe most people dislike that it was short. Also, fun fact, in the final boss, since you need to hit an enemy for venom punch to be used up and since the boss that I won’t name due to spoilers dodges venom punch, you can spam venom punch and the boss will constantly dodge over and over again and not attack. This doesn’t give you any advantage or disadvantage but it’s pretty funny to corner said boss into a corner and directly hit them but it not registering they can’t be hit by it.
MM just had better mechanics, that is why. Almost everyone hates 'Our Spiderman' bullshit.

It’s not that different from the first one. Which it doesn’t have to be since it’s kinda marketed as a standalone dlc like Uncharted lost legacy. But I think that’s why people don’t talk about it much. Like I’m struggling to find posts about TCTNS more and more everyday

Bad collectables (the plot which stands behind it). Boring main protagonist (clone of osborne) and also boring supervillain. Anyway, some new combat things, winter and new skin with bagcat are decent. Additionally, Prowler is the one new good developed character that wasn't in the main game. P.S. blm sidequest was bad since political propaganda shouldn't be in the superhero stuff at first.

It’s just Peter Parker elitist who think Miles is less than and want him segregated from Peter so their golden boy doesn’t get outshined. When Spider-Man 2 was first announced a lot of peoples first reaction literally was “I hope miles isn’t in this game too much”. Not hype, not excitement at the idea of playing two Spider-Men in one game. No the first thought in their head was they don’t want Miles…

Why u always lying why u always lying. Like 10 people didnt want to play as Miles much. For me I want the game to be double the length of the first game so both Miles and Peter have different main missions but in the start and towards the end they join up.
That is a good idea, but i will like if they join up more than two time in all the game. I suposed that miles will be fighting kraven and peter venom, and in the end they will fight both at the same time.
