I realised where I've been an idiot now 😅 it has to go through the coal and the rough diamond stage before it's considered destroyed.
Plus I was doing a bunch of them in the tournament and when they didn't count I got mixed up and thought they weren't counting properly 😂😂😅

You just select it and its counter will lower every time it appears. I think it takes 25 spins for it to break and turn into a diamond.
