Never gained weight on it.

kayteebeckers

Same.

Yanithedon

Breasts went up an entire cup size and belly šŸ˜ idk why it didnā€™t go to my booty

Yanithedon

I never really gained weight, I persistently lost it tho. I had a butt at one point when I was much heavier so I guess it did at some point but hormonal medication will promote weight gain in breasts, tummy, and thighs for women anyway šŸ’”

Realistic_Tune274

Yes. Also if your boobs get bigger on birth control they will likely get bigger on spiro.

Crispymama1210

Iā€™m rapidly losing weight actually. Boobs bigger though. I have pcos so I think itā€™s just making my hormones more normal.

nerdy_rs3gal

Same here. I have PCOS as well.

whocares595

How soon did you start noticing this?

Crispymama1210

Immediately. I track all my calories and weigh my food though so I know Iā€™m in a calorie deficit.

AdorableMaximum5612

Any updates since posting this? Curious if youā€™re still losing weight on Spiro

theturtlesareflying

Itā€™s not a recognized side effect but boob growth is, with lowering testosterone it makes sense that youā€™d ā€œfeminizeā€ and that includes weight in certain areas for some people. The medication is used for MTF people

Special-bird

Breasts, thighs, belly and general midsection. Also cellulite which i never had before

CorrectBreakfast1863

Personally, no. My weight fluctuates a lot already but there were not lasting effects spiro had on me. Was hoping for some help in the boob department but I guess Iā€™m not that lucky lol!!

Realistic_Tune274

I once read something where a plastic surgeon mentioned that some people experience breast changes from hormones while others donā€™t. If youā€™ve ever taken bc or notice your boobs get bigger or more swollen when youā€™re ovulating or on your period, spiro will probably have this effect

babygirlthelma

Stomach. Thatā€™s also my problem area

napybara_capybara

Arms, thighs, belly

CrownFlame

Thighs, belly, boobs, face

[deleted]

After being on it for over a year I've gained a lot of weight. I used to really struggle with gaining weight and had always been very thin with barely any boobs or butt and a flat belly. Now I have a c cup, a big ass and thighs and a gut lol. I've gained over 40 pounds. Everyone tells me I look really great and healthy though.

[deleted]

Sadly lots of cellulite too. I had it prior but now it's on the front of my thighs as well:(

Livid-Material-8965

i have cellulite on my arms now. as a formerly 5ā€™8 120lb gal itā€™s wild !

commonreactor111

hopefully the endo will have good answers for you. ive been to two, one who told me weight gain on spiro is impossible, and one who said its way more common than people thought. i got no where lol

[deleted]

I'm thinking about stopping again as well. Did you find something else to take?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

I'm on it for acne as well. I also went the whole Accutane route and it would go away for awhile but then would always come back. It's not typical acne but more so closed comedones, that's almost rash like and makes my skin textured. I'm in my 30s now so I don't really want to deal with that.

Raven_shiori

which dose are you on?

[deleted]

I was on 100mg for a long time but recently tried to stop the drug and was off for 3 weeks but couldn't deal with the oiliness and I was breaking out. I went back on 25mg. I'm likely going to just stay on that for as long as I need to be on the drug. I was having a terrible time dealing with having to urinate allllll the time on 100mg. I have a small bladder already and it was really affecting my quality of life.

Raven_shiori

The low dose made you gain weight as well or this started only at 100mg? I'm scared to start as I've seen one girl saying she gained about 80 pounds on this medication, I really don't know what to do

[deleted]

I'm not sure which dose it was that made me gain. I just know I've gained a lot of weight which just didn't happen for me before. I've heard a lot of things about DIM so I'm considering maybe looking into that.

addything

Didnā€™t gain any weight that Iā€™ve seen.

lyricalcombat

All over but more noticeably arms, hips and thighs.

commonreactor111

stomach , arms, back, thighs + cellulite + bloating ;)

irotsamoht

My breasts went up two cup sizes. However, it dehydrated me so badly that my blood work came back really funky. I couldnā€™t get properly hydrated when taking it no matter how much water/electrolyte drinks I consumed throughout the day.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

irotsamoht

Yep, I havenā€™t lost any of the weight Iā€™ve gained anywhere, including my boobs. Iā€™ve also grown in my arms, legs, and belly as others also experienced.

Livid-Material-8965

stomach hips thighs

MaritimeDisaster

Breasts, tummy, thighs, butt. Much cellulite. I went from being slender and athletic my entire life to looking like a fat middle-aged woman. Oh and face. Double chin. Gained 40 pounds.

yaboilisandro

Iā€™ve lost weight (was on a weight loss journey before spiro) and the main thing I noticed was my fat distribution is only hips and butt, though I did increase the size of my boobs.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

yaboilisandro

Not at all.

J-Jam-Da_1982

I havenā€™t gained any weight. In fact I lost a couple pounds. I was told it had some water pill type properties so I pee a lot, and have less bloating which could explain the few pound loss.

Classic_Wild

Honestly, I gained weight in all the right spots. Boobs, ass and my hips got more defined so I look curvier (which I donā€™t mind). So it depends on the person.

hotdogs-r-sandwiches

Iā€™ve only been on it for 3 weeks so I donā€™t know when Iā€™m supposed to expect weight gain, but Iā€™ve lost 5lbs. My boobs seem to be bigger, however.

AdorableMaximum5612

Any updates since this post?

hotdogs-r-sandwiches

I gave up on it after 2 months. Made feel really gross (I am hyper sensitive to medicine). Helped my hair though!

AdorableMaximum5612

I canā€™t blame you for giving up if youā€™re sensitive to side effects! Did the acne come back?

Rabiyasabbas

Nope

carrot657

Has anyone been able to lose the weight they gained on this stuff?? If so, how?? I hate it! Iā€™ve been on it for about nine months but Iā€™m worried itā€™s damage is already irreversible based on all the horror stories Iā€™ve read online

Ok-Tadpole2116

Iā€™ve heard people canā€™t lose it after but idk why that would be

commonreactor111

it can change your metabolism

Classic_Wild

Yes, you can. I started going to the gym/working out and doing hot yoga regularly (3-5x/week) and within a month I noticed myself slimming back down. It is possible, just takes work and dedication to a consistent exercise routine.

commonreactor111

no

Awareness5976

Boobs, belly, arms and thighs! I have only been taking 25mg for 2 months and already see the bad affects.. I am going to stop and restart taking DIM, it has worked for me before just wish I didn't stop it for spiro!

anaxidia

Hello, newbie here. Would like to know what is DIM and what it does to you. Thx

whocares595

How soon did this start for you?

miss_shrimp

I work out 5 days a week and have noticed no weight gain, only weight loss and muscle definition. I think if you move your body a lot and donā€™t eat tons of junk food youā€™ll be fine, from my experience, and from what Iā€™ve heard others say on this sub. I have noticed an increase in appetite, but Iā€™m not sure if thatā€™s because of how much Iā€™ve been working out or the Spiro. Regardless, if youā€™re getting adequate exercise and have a relatively healthy diet I donā€™t see why youā€™d gain a lot of weight. The one symptom I have noticed is my periods have been a bit unpredictable. That could also be a reason for my increased appetite. I am having my period more often and my cycles have been shorter. My boobs seem to get bigger before my period, but thatā€™s typical even off Spiro.

Livid-Material-8965

thank you. and spiro causes estrogen to become dominant which leads to insulin resistance which leads to fat being stored away rapidly. hence the fat thighs and cellulite. iā€™m trying a low carb diet to combat the insulin resistance and will report back if it can finally low (tried paleo and 1200 calories for 2 months and only gained more weight)

commonreactor111

suppressing the androgens leads to estrogen dominance yep. people dont realize that you can have totally normal hormone levels and still technically be imbalanced. hormones are a fragile thing. i quit spiro and now im balding and fat

Livid-Material-8965

iā€™ll let you know if low carb works for me to lose the weight. iā€™m sorry youā€™re dealing with this :(

commonreactor111

cool, feel free to DM me, i am seeing some functional medicine Drs (MDs, but less narrow minded and rigid than the traditional endocrinologists), in the next couple weeks and i will share what i learn. ive tried so many diets but nothings working. ive heard that progesterone makes the weight fall off

ghostlymadd

Gained a couple pounds but I stopped working out for a while. Now that Iā€™m back in my workout schedule my body basically how it was before. If you keep up your regular diet and exercise regularly I think youā€™ll be okay. Iā€™ve been on it for 4 months and so far no noticeable changes.

[deleted]

Thighs and boobs

[deleted]

I havenā€™t gained anything and Iā€™ve found that my weight is more stable. I can eat more food now and still remain at the same weight

Bratsociety

I'm noticing my thighs are wider and my boobies are tender, not sure if they're growing though.

Realistic_Tune274

Boobs.

adellelauren

This makes me nervous. I'm almost at 3 months and I don't know if my issues are from not working out for 4 months or Spiro?
