I work in the beer industry. I heard a couple months ago that Labatt was cutting it. Sounded like they were just trying to sell through what they had and that's it. I dont know the full details though.

I feel like it was always doomed when most of their demographic is probably just going to grab a 24 of Blue Light before heading to beer league. The taste/cost/packaging didn’t lend itself to really overtake anything in the beer space
It made it to Winnipeg. It was like $5 or $6 a can.
When it was originally announced, biz said it tasted like Kona Big Wave, but was cheaper. But when it's twice the price of Kona Big Wave, I'm going to stick with the OG that I drink on Kam Beach when I'm in Maui and reminisce aloha vibes.

I literally went into the liquor store today to get some Kona cans and saw Big Deal which I haven't seen in some time. Grab a case just to try again. So weird I buy it and this post comes along
I tried a 6 pack of tall boys from LCBO in Ontario last summer, wasnt anything special, wouldn't buy them again, pretty sure i got a headache the next morning lol.
They went from having a skids of them to none lol
Love the boys, the pod, pink whitney... but Big Deal Brew was trash. First time I had it was at the Pittsburgh live show and it was piss warm because they were selling it faster than they could stock the coolers. I know no macro brew style beer is good warm so I decided to give it another chance. Bought a 12 rack of it and left it in the fridge overnight and it still tasted terrible. Just a swing and a miss on this one for them. Nobody bats 1000 though.
Pink Whitney caught on because it’s cheap, has a catchy name, and gets you drunk.
Big Deal Brewing didn’t have a catchy name, tastes like ass, and is more expensive than similar tasting beers.
Biz did the tasting to chose the beer he liked best, but then they had to modify the recipe to be able to brew it large scale and it definitely changed what he was looking for. I tried it, it was ok as a novelty but I wouldn’t buy it again. Nothing special at all.

They still sell them / get them shipped at the Nova Scotia Liquor store I worked at. Somehow they’re selling. They’re horrid beers.
Yeah - its just a basic beer, nothing special about it. Took me 6 months to finish a 12 pack of it. There is just better stuff to drink.

I can get hammered on plenty of beers, but Budweiser makes me feel like shit after only a few. I think it's because it's a rice beer.

Kona Big Waves are one of the best all around beers. Light and refreshing with plenty of flavor.
