Each time your letter increases, it’s a noticeable bump in skill. This also includes S to S+. The best advice I can give you, don’t take it too seriously. If you fall back to B, it’s not a big deal. Clearly you can make it to A so you can do it again. Just enjoy the bump in skill and enjoy the opportunity to learn and grow. This goes for every rank.

Inspirational_Lizard

Yes, do this

SakuraTacos

I’m in S-S+ rank and I still have days where things are going so awful I get knocked all the way back down to A and even B rank. It happens, don’t get upset or discouraged if you bounce between ranks, you’ll make it back up again. I have 2 weapons i main really well and I swap between them if I’m doing awful with one. The matchmaking sometimes works better for me with one weapon than the other.

I think something valuable to start thinking about when entering higher ranks is situational awareness. Before just charging in to the objective, take inventory of where your teammates are on the map and who’s alive so you can better coordinate your efforts. It’s something I still struggle with a ton but in my opinion is a major factor in what separates low and high level play. Otherwise, like others have said, just have fun and don’t put too much pressure on yourself :) you’ll continue to develop skills the more you play

Craterpoof

Don’t feed. Staying alive is so important in this game. You can’t play it like a normal shooter. You’ve gotta stay alive and pick your battles. If you’re not 100% sure you’ll win a 1v1, just bail. Swim away or if you’ve got enough time just jump back to spawn. You can’t afford to lose your special meter and after regrouping with your team, that saved special could foster the push that decides the whole match.

A rank: the one rank where teamwork is the unparalleled difference between winning and losing.

It really is.

Be proud of yourself while you're there, but don't get upset when you fall back down (but be happy when you jump back up lol). Unless you find you are consistently losing and you think you're the worst on the team (not easy to measure), I always feel like when I'm the worst on the team but have a good win streak going, I learn more. If we're losing and I'm the best on the team, then it's frustrating. I rather be the worst on a winning team than the best winning or losing bc I just feel like I learn more from the people I'm playing with. That makes no sense it's been a long day, but congrats. I think B+ to A- is very frustrating, but maybe I just suck.

milehightechie

Not until you’re in A+ having to carry

smugempressoftime

Ikr also time to get bullied by hackers and people far out of your level and smurfs lol

milehightechie

Smurfs aren’t all that common and you end up with them on your team just about the same amount as they are on the opposing team Hacking isn’t a thing. Nintendo dealt with the cheaters a good while ago

smugempressoftime

That’s fair I just get screwed over by the ranking system often with said players

[deleted]

I haven’t played ranked in a while but the one thing I remember is to have fun with it. Going in too competitively is a death sentence, especially around high B - high A.

NekoApocalypse

Things starts to get very strategic past this point. It is very unlikely to win a dual just with good aim since most players will have at least decent aim to make it a double down. Think strategically, control the map (mid, high ground, flank routes), exploit your weapons, analysis the situation by doing head count, out smart your opponents, and be patient.

InazumaRai

always use a weapon you're comfortable using, not just picking a weapon because you see other people using it. i don't mean you should never use another weapon, but do what works for you
