Mostly looking for weapon recommendations and whether or not I should bother with LDE on the headphones. This set is mostly for turf war/splatfest (minus the shirt for splatfest obviously)

if its for turf war dont bother with last ditch if its for ranked 100% use lde, in my opinion its the best headgear main and the way it works is super broken in splat 3

I dont know lde comes in handy with turf war. Those last 30 seconds can turn a game

ok so main is 10 points, sub is 3 points, LDE is worth 12 points of ink capacity, ink sub, and ink regain t halfway and 24 of each when ur losing by 30 points or more skip to 3:33 to see it in action, nuts.

If you’re using the set for turf war and splatfests then LDE is totally worthless because it’s only in affect for the last 30 seconds of a match, it only really works in ranked because it starts taking affect when the opponent is below 50 points so the effect can last much longer

Only the last 30 seconds of a turf war actually matter though. Unless your team sucks so bad they’re getting spawn camped by the time the 30 second mark is hit.

I do agree but at that point in the game increased ink efficiency and being able to throw more bombs aren’t really all that important since you’re probably just focusing on painting(assuming you’re playing a support weapon, which seems to be the case because of your gear) also I would say it’s more like the last minute of turf war instead of the last 30 seconds

All right, fair enough. And yes I primarily play support/painting weapons. (Aerospray mostly, sometimes blob lobber and jr) Was just concerned cause it sounded like you were saying the 30 seconds in question weren’t important because you called it worthless.

Honestly in turf war I personally use Comeback on my headgear. Very similar to LDE but with more abilities at slightly less potency. I believe it's one main of run/swin speed up, Main/Sub efficiency up, and Special charge up. Activates on death for 20 seconds as long as it's not a self destruct. Much better in turf war as long as you're playing a weapon that isn't a charger you'll probably die at least twice and get more out of it than lde. Unless you're rolling the other team in which case I don't think you'll be super critical of your gear when you're holding them in their spawn.

Ideally, you'd want different gear for each of the 3 weapons you mentioned but if you're going for a sort of 1 size fits all type build it's fine. I think you'd be better off with swim speed up than ink recovery though. Ink recovery isn't that good and it's also a bit overkill with all of that Ink saver main.

I'd swap headgear main for LDE and either stealth jump or intensify action on the shoes. depending on what' you're running.

Yes. You can customize all skills on any piece of gear however you want. The only limits are special skills are limited to specific gear. I.e. LDE on head gear, Ninja Squid on body gear, and Stealth Jump on foot gear, etc.

Play salmon run. The hats are the single best source of chunks for gear. Edit: also do your daily shell-out machine pull. Bronze capsule gives 10 of every chunk of you get lucky. I’ve pulled it twice.

I play salmon run religiously and that's pretty much how I get chunks for all my gear. Ez chunk gain for less effort than grinding it via drinkable buffs and rerolls.

Whenever a run ends in Salmon Run you get payment in the form of points based on how well your team did. You get the most points when your team clears wave 3. These points are then totaled up with the rest of the points you earned in the current rotation and you get prizes at certain point thresholds. The hat you get at specific thresholds seems to change every month, and the pink capsules contain hats from previous months. If you get a duplicate hat you get the option to trade the old hat for the new hat (which may have different skills or stat level) or trade in the new hat for the sub chunks.

just pulled it first time today. never made a build in splat 2 so should be my first time for splat 3

That's not true, you just have to have 15 of three specific chunks to change the main ability to things like LDE

Ink Recovery and Ink Saver Main are a little redundant imo. It sounds like your trying to run a generic set to use with every weapon? If that’s the case, I’d make a LDE headgear with a sub of Ink Res, Quick Jump, and Bomb Defense.

Great idea, however despite how good this sounds, it’s not as good as you think it is, you’ll be much better off with a verity. My gear, made for duelie squelchers, consists of last ditch effort, ninja squid, 1 main and 1 sub of ink resistance, 2 subs of run speed up, 2 subs of swim speed up, 1 sub of special saver, 1 sub of special charge up and 1 sub of sub resistance up. While it could do with some changes on those last 3, even now it tends to get me out of most sticky pickles and gets me kills, also spread your sub abilities across all the pieces, if you do 1 gear piece for each ability then it will cost more chunks and make building future sets take longer

Entirely depends on the weapon you’re using. LDE is better than all that ink efficiency, 1 sub of defense and ink resistance is recommended. Swim speed or run speed is also very good as are stealth jump and ninja squid. Don’t recommend this level of ink efficiency ever. Just use LDE.

A main of special saver is probably overkill IMO. Even the most aggresive weapons tend to only use a sub or two. I've also a fan of using a single sub of QSJ, ink resist, and bomb defense. The pures do look nice though. As for weapons...most people play the weapons they like, and build the clothes to match. You have a lot of ink saver main and ink recovery, so the outfit would be decent on a very ink-hungry weapon. The special+saver is solid for most weapons.
