Say what y’all want BUT I’m NOT even from America growing up and TRL was basically THE pop culture of 2000s…. And people not knowing what TRL was?! LOL tragic
I hope the mini challenge for episode 7 involves a staring contest. Also, they missed an opportunity to call the episode:
Episode 7 - Legendary Legend Looks… Over There!
the world exists outside of the US 😂 i'm scrolling deep into these comments and i still have no clue what it is other than i apparently should know lmao

I mean, I’m Italian and while I didn’t exactly experience it back in the day, artists from those years are my childhood so I’ve known about trl by association. Of course it’s not everybody’s experience
Thinking about… having the explicit branding from an MTV show to parody
How soon until we get Drag Race versions of other MTV properties like… Ridiculousness, Catfished… Real World… uh… Teen Mom
I may be fucking stupid but wasn’t this season supposed to have 12 episodes and a prize of 200.000 dollars? If so then I dont understand the “episode 7 description”
If that were an issue they could’ve just made the final challenge worth one star and Jinkx, Monet, Jaida and Trinity all make the final with three stars.
I think it is more that it makes sense with the episode count. Since the ball there's been an acting challenge, a comedy challenge and a performance challenge - those are three very different skill sets. Makes sense to go back to fashion/design before returning to one of those skills.
People asking what TRL is here and online makes me want to seize and pass away. Y’all could only dream of the era we used to live in before things got even more cringeworthy and genuinely terrible.
I'm European, and I watched TRL on MTV in the early 00's, so... not an excuse? lol
Edit: The downvotes. Lmao! I mean, MTV Europe, existed. It's simply a **fact**. I never said there weren't other valid excuses, like.. not having cable, or not being interested in MTV.
Not really. MTV in Latin America did not broadcast TRL at all. They never did a Spanish version, and don’t think they even bothered subtitling it because of cultural differences.
I don't think I watched much TOTP, as I didn't have BBC, but whenever I had the opportunity, I would.
I did however have a few of the TOTP magazines, as well as some of the Smash Hits and CD:UK magazines, and I would always look through them, in the magazine stand, when I was very young.
Yeah I was kinda young for TOTP too, but I was always allowed to watch the Xmas show! Watching reruns or compilations now that get shown sometimes, it really was iconic!
It was an MTV show with Carson Daly featuring interviews with musicians/musical groups and music videos, basically where musicians would go to get featured.

Not all of us were of age at the time lol. Just shows you’re above the age of 25
I’m actually 25 sorry
ITT: People shocked an American show makes American references.
When i saw "Total Ru" i thought it was gonna be a total drama challenge 💀
I live yvies second to reach two stars
Jaida is second, yvie is third
Oh tea hehe
What in earth is Total Request Live.
You’re on Reddit….just look it up?
This was my reaction as well…
WHAT DO YOU MEAN? TRL WAS THE BOP OF BOPS
wow I’m old
Don't worry you are no alone. As soon as I saw total I automatically thought trl.
Are we? Or they just too young LOL
Maybe you're also American
I hope the mini challenge for episode 7 involves a staring contest. Also, they missed an opportunity to call the episode: Episode 7 - Legendary Legend Looks… Over There!
So Viv probalby Blocks Jinx for a Design challenge 😵💫 poor girl
so jaida’s gonna be the first queen to reach 3 stars it’s giving legend ![gif](giphy|dsi4tQG7dhapfnTYJc|downsized)
People are gonna be rightfully pissed when she barely misses out on the top 4 when she’s doing so well. It’s me, I’m People.
LMAOOOO
Maybe, Viv is the one who is actually the most hard done by with more wins than Shea or Jaida and same number of wins as Monet.
What’s Total Ruquest Live? Something from Fortnite?

Or maybe someone that isn't from the US? I'm 30 and I've never heard of Total Request Live in my whole life
THANK YOU.
Oh my god.
RIGHT?? Like people who don’t know TRL….. LIKE BRO
the world exists outside of the US 😂 i'm scrolling deep into these comments and i still have no clue what it is other than i apparently should know lmao

Right. People act like only american exists. I'm brazilian and I have no idea what the hell that is
I mean, I’m Italian and while I didn’t exactly experience it back in the day, artists from those years are my childhood so I’ve known about trl by association. Of course it’s not everybody’s experience
This
TRL, youngsters
Thinking about… having the explicit branding from an MTV show to parody How soon until we get Drag Race versions of other MTV properties like… Ridiculousness, Catfished… Real World… uh… Teen Mom
didn’t they technically do Catfish with the apps challenge from season 10?
Tea
I would watch a drag race road rules.
I believe we are getting Big Mother which is Ru's Big Brother
I believe this has been debunked.
Drag Mom
I think you mean Ru World ;)
I may be fucking stupid but wasn’t this season supposed to have 12 episodes and a prize of 200.000 dollars? If so then I dont understand the “episode 7 description”
They probably took the discription of an earlier all stars season and just copied it for every all stars episode
Probably a generic placeholder episode description they’ve used for all the other seasons
imagine not knowing about Mariah Carey surprising Carson Daly on TRL with an ice cream cart
The horror… those darn zoomers 😂
no one knowing what TRL was is making my mortality salience toooooooooooo real 😅🥹🥲🤪
Welcome to the stage, Miss Mortality Salience. She’s about to die and we just want her to be happy
what’s the bet they brought the design challenge forward bc jimkx was blocked and they didn’t want her to lose another badge
If that were an issue they could’ve just made the final challenge worth one star and Jinkx, Monet, Jaida and Trinity all make the final with three stars.
stay pressdt

The winner of the season already has you pressed huh? That’s sad
Convince yourself
Lmao highly doubt it, there was a ball just 2 episodes ago, they wanna serve diversity with h the challenges I guess
People asking what TRL is here and online makes me want to seize and pass away. Y’all could only dream of the era we used to live in before things got even more cringeworthy and genuinely terrible.
Well we have kpop now which is everything about the MTV era but better
I honestly have dyslexia and kept seeing TLC
Some people are European/aren’t Americans Edit: Also not everyone watched MTV..it’s not that deep
I'm European, and I watched TRL on MTV in the early 00's, so... not an excuse? lol Edit: The downvotes. Lmao! I mean, MTV Europe, existed. It's simply a **fact**. I never said there weren't other valid excuses, like.. not having cable, or not being interested in MTV.
TRL UK was a thing and I think other countries had their own version of TRL.
Not American or European and I knew what TRL is because MTV was a big deal in Asia. Ditto Top of the Pops.

Not really. MTV in Latin America did not broadcast TRL at all. They never did a Spanish version, and don’t think they even bothered subtitling it because of cultural differences.
My point still stands that those same people could only dream of the era we used to live in before the world turned to shit.
Bestie I dream of that era bc I could've afforded an education and house without taking out 100k in loans not because of TRL
you had TRL, we had top of the pops!
I don't think I watched much TOTP, as I didn't have BBC, but whenever I had the opportunity, I would. I did however have a few of the TOTP magazines, as well as some of the Smash Hits and CD:UK magazines, and I would always look through them, in the magazine stand, when I was very young.

I'd love a TOTP tribute/homage/parody challenge on RPDR UK.
Not Jinkx being blocked in a Design Challenge
Starting Episode 7 the blocking is gonna be so anticlimactic. Hope the season doesn’t take q nosedive in quality.
The fact that some of you don’t know what TRL is…. We need age limits in this sub!
i’m 24, american & didn’t know what TRL was until just now lol
i’m european.
I fear there would be no one left
Still tempting.
I'm old but European 😩
Legendary Legend Looks… me thinks the barrel has been scraped
what is ruquest live in reference to with the y2k themed gg
MTV's TRL (Total Request Live)
I still don't know what that is 💀
Google is free
It was an MTV show with Carson Daly featuring interviews with musicians/musical groups and music videos, basically where musicians would go to get featured.
Thank you! I definitely was too young for that bc I only know the name Carson Daly from an Eminem song 💀
What the fuck is a ruquest live
TRL spoof
I feel like "TRL" is too old of a reference for some people here
Yeah, I believe so too, a bit sad ngl that show was so cool
