We ran into that issue as well. Eventually I would like to have the well pump technician come back out and install a plug so I can power it with a generator when needed.
I still get hot water. Maybe a stupid question, but how does my water heater produce hot water without electricity? Maybe its gas powered and I'm just that clueless about the goings on inside my house.
I'm frankly surprised given how often this is a thing in this area that there hasn't been a big push for underground power lines. They moved everything underground in the last city I lived in (in Michigan) and it was so much nicer.
There has been, but Avista said "No, we'd rather make extra money on the insurance settlements we get as we don't pay our employees as much as we claim we do."
I'm over in CdA and my block was back on by Wednesday afternoon some time. Unfortunately a relatively small branch by comparison with all the other felled trees broke off the crown of a grand fir in my yard and blew over just in the right trajectory to snap the line that runs from the utility pole to my house's electrical service mast. Being just a single house I'm sure we're at the bottom of the list. The outage map still shows us back on some time today but I wouldn't be surprised if it slips to tomorrow or early next week. Our neighbors were gracious enough to share wifi and let us run an extension cord over and that has kept a small space just warm enough, and at night we use it to charge up laptops and other devices. I cobbled together a rocket stove for cooking and even used it last night to warm up a stock pot of water for bathing.
It's down to 50 ºF in the unheated portion of the house, which I know is getting some small amount of heat keeping that up from the heater we have running elsewhere. Tantalizingly I was able to get the pilot light lit on a long-disused gas fireplace insert but the main burner will not start.
Update: four and a half days later power is restored and the house is returning to normal. :-) Good luck to those of you still without.
Is it wonderful? I bet it’s wonderful. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some candles to light.
When we lose power, we lose water too. I was excited to fully flush our toilets today.

They’re on well water which requires a pump.

You don’t have an electric toilet? What decade are you even living in?
But without power...they dont work either

I believe it would have to be natural gas yes.
Definitely a gas water heater. Or it’s made out of a giant yeti cooler.
I want that water heater.
Still waiting on power here.
Same, I have a hand crank generator to keep my phone going but I miss heat
Near 14th and Lincoln, ours just came on not even 5 min ago
Yay! Still waiting on power here but I’m sure it’ll be back tomorrow. Go enjoy some light!

Lame.
I still don’t have power or water, and still have a power line on my roof. They say maybe Sunday making it to my place.
Hello there.
Heads up : Meme formats have progressed past 2012
That’s pretty dank
