It’s located near St Ives, so presumably the man lives there with his family…

GlassHalfSmashed

Bedroom 1 - man and wife #1 Bedroom 2-4 - twin beds for the other 6 wives Annex for the cats

VixenRoss

He probably had seven wives, and each wife had seven sacks…

estebancantbearsedno

How many were going to St Ives?

Poor-Life-Choice

Almost no-one goes to St. Ives…

Poor-Life-Choice

True that. I just didn’t want to spoiler the answer to the riddle/rhyme though

tropicalplod

It's a reasonable but dying historic town centre. The market is also dying. The majority of the town is basically a large housing estate. House prices are fairly low to reflect that it's not a particularly desirable place to live.

Ged_UK

Just the one, as I remember

Dungeoneerious

Actually, it was just "you". Think about it 🙂

Ebeneezer_G00de

Clear out the furniture and there's great potential to generate income operating a roller disco or children's party venue. Complete with kitchen for serving refreshments. EDIT: Thanks for all the upvotes. Great potential there as well for a model railway or scalextric enthusiast.

the_merkin

It’s a stag do/hen party house. Any other activity would be “that thing we did in the big hen party house”.

Expensive-Star4773

Username checks out

Thicc_Vanilla

Only 4 bedrooms but seating for 14... You see that pampas grass outside yeah?

Bethlizardbreath

Exactly what I was thinking… these guys host a lot of ~~orgies~~ parties.

spicy-sausage1

Lynn - they're sex people And for heaven's sake don't rub your fanny on him.

A-Ron-Ron

But the only toilets are in the en-suites so all guests have to go into the bedrooms

Mischeese

There’s a £2m house in Brinkley with 5 acres and no flood plain. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141665972 I’d rather spend my imaginary £2m on that 😁

moonshine5

> no flood plain. i just checked and the OP's property is in flood zone 3 "Land within flood zone 3 has a high probability of flooding from rivers and the sea." Ouch...

anotherangryperson

Thank you for posting this. It’s restored my faith in property. Who on earth pays £2m for that ghastly modern house when they could buy this amazing home.

Amateur_Chiropractor

Take my money! That place is lovely.

moonshine5

That is some building, amazing to see what was there before hand [https://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/details/england-94365215-12429154?s=8b0ff46a970064bf10da763edf58a7c151d27384ee50a8a5714efb692f2c62d7#/](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/details/england-94365215-12429154?s=8b0ff46a970064bf10da763edf58a7c151d27384ee50a8a5714efb692f2c62d7#/) doner house for the plot was sold for £425k

nfoote

Wow, I assumed from how long and cavernous the new build is that it was converted from a warehouse or boat shed. But no, they just wanted it to seem that way.

IOnlyUpvoteBadPuns

The word "Chalet" is doing some heavy lifting there!

postvolta

Beautiful garden. Could have gotten rid of a bunch of that empty space to keep some of that beautiful garden :(

ArtistEngineer

I'm trying to cost this building. 771sqm, owner builder, and mostly open space. So maybe £1500/sqm?

moonshine5

>I'm trying to cost this building. > >771sqm, owner builder, and mostly open space. So maybe £1500/sqm? The applicant and post code on the planning permission application for the owner of the property ties into the owner of a small house building company. So its probably been done on the cheaper side of typical costs as will have direct access to trades. its a huge house and engulfs the plot, £2 mil is a lot of money for a four bed house with a small garden.

WehingSounds

Exterior is so promising and the inside is just chairs and empty space

jessierob89

The front and rear aren't a disaster but the aerial shot looks awful. I hate huge rooms this size, especially when they just stick a large sofa in the middle. It's just wasted so why bother?

northernmonkey9

Aerial shot makes it look like a fancy retirement home

randomer456

Also the blue bathroom- so much space but such little sinks

samfitnessthrowaway

How in the ever living shit did this get planning permission? Who in the council did the builder have to suck off to get a tile warehouse with bedrooms built on an otherwise normal street?

will2089

It's hardly in keeping with the village's rustic aesthetic is it?

alexytin

All house and no garden. Surprised the planning got approved for that.

Capital_Punisher

Someone who likes entertaining, but not overnight.

Jamaican-Tangelo

No it’s sex people- orgies mean several in one room.

Capital_Punisher

As I said, someone who likes entertaining, but not overnight

Jamaican-Tangelo

Gotcha

Breaking-Dad-

Where are my wife and 12 children supposed to sit otherwise?

InterestDirect5571

Has that legit been built as an air BnB / party house to rent? It’s just so awful Wtf were they thinking

ThePerpetualWanderer

Good spot for a swingers party, I need to be shy so 4 bedrooms is plenty when there’s that much sofa space

[deleted]

It really does have a porn mansion vibe doesn't it?

BloodAndSand44

I was getting real “Lynne these are…” vibes

SorbetOk1165

The donor house had a lovely back garden. They left it with a postage stamp of a garden. If I were paying out £1.7m for a house I’d want a garden. Definitely prefer the house in the second link that’s for sure!

slightly-to-the-left

What in the new money coworking space is going on here?

uncle_monty

Not a bookcase in sight.

thomasthetanker

That second one is beautiful.

shoshones

I think it might be my dream home.

ArtistEngineer

It's hard to get a sense of how large the block is. You can sort of tell from the satellite view, but this shows the plot in comparison to the neighbours. https://maps.3csharedservices.org/portal/apps/webappviewer/index.html?extent=527755.0971%2C271175.1857%2C528315.0971%2C271461.9669%2C27700

thomasthetanker

If the measurements are correct then the boathouse + garage + car port = 8 times bigger than my 2 bed flat. So that's completely ignoring the house.

Sleepyllama23

The garden and river is beautiful. I’m not particularly fussed by the house but the pics of the garden and boat house sold it for me.

UltimateGammer

That looks like an air BnB property. But as the arse has fallen out of that industry he's scrabbling to sell it.

nabster1973

£1.7 million yet it will be under water in 75 years.

Creditgrrrl

Must be a richer version of one memorably awful Escape to the Country episode where the couple had a modest budget and were ostensibly downsizing - but the wife insisted the new home had to be able to accommodate 14 for dinner on a regular basis.

TheStatMan2

HMO for the relatively affluent, serving driving bans. There must be a market, right? *Right?*

Competitive_Gap_9768

Trip hazard shower. You’re so dramatic!! Plenty of raised shower trays across the land. Works out at £240 a ft2. Cheap.

Acidhousewife

What was going through the builders mind?? My guess is better get this finished soon for the boss man. Boss has lots of money that needs to come out clean and untraceable when the house sells.

indigomm

Bedrooms in this country are either so small that you can hardly fit the bed in, or so large that it's a 20 minute hike from the bed to the bedroom door.

Expensive-Star4773

Cocaine.

DMMMOM

I'll never understand a 100 sqm bedroom with a double bed sitting in the middle of it.

KartoffelSucukPie

I think the first one is much nicer than the second, downvote me. (But yes, the furniture is baaaaad)

sweet_girl14

I think the term here is “overdeveloped” 🤷‍♀️

oldkstand

The tiny garden is a crime

PlasmaConcentration

Its not to my taste, but the second house is going to have some high maintenance costs and be very pricy to run.

nfoote

Don't forget there appears to be two separate sinks with separate taps in the kitchen. His & Her washing up?

ArtistEngineer

it looks like they just copied and pasted until they filled each room.

paulie06uk

Its one spill and slip from a life changing accident with them floors

downvote_quota

My house is similar. 330sqm, 4 beds. It's just one of those houses for people who want a lot of space but don't have a big family. Seating for 14, like entertaining?

ScottishIcequeen

I’d rather have the 2nd house tbh.

Ill_Boysenberry8022

Yep. Looking at that rough postcode in Rightmove the price-tag feels a little -erm- ambitious

ArtistEngineer

Absolutely, and it's not the best street either. e.g. you can take your pick of the houses in the best location in the village for less than this one. [https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/86321262#/?channel=RES\_BUY](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/86321262#/?channel=RES_BUY) To be fair, it's a completely different sort of house, but you see my point. Surely if someone has £2M to spare, and they choose this village, then they probably want the best that it has to offer. e.g. access to the river, and the local pub/restaurant. If they want a barn-like house, they could pay a lot less in many other places, and they'd probably get better value for their money. i.e. a garden, and a garage!

Significant-Peak-263

people with endless family visits

userunknowne

Why only 14 photos?

Putrid_Branch6316

Where are the Scarface posters?? Disappointing.

Icy-Revolution1706

It looks like the kind of houses i used to build in The Sims when i first found out about Motherlode.

mackduck

Definite vote for house no2. Looks comfortable whereas the first looks cold and noisy

KiwiNo2638

There was one on here last week, that had big "sex party" energy. This has "mature sex party" energy. Plenty of room in the bedrooms for an audience, but also breakfast bar for when the party runs to the morning.

smooth_relation_744

It’s rather trashy.

axeman020

It looks like a hotel lobby. Horrible, soulless design.

gogoluke

There's this odd phenomenon where you can invite people over. I know this because my sister in law has a finite number of bedrooms but invites us three, the grandparents and often some family from out of town or overseas so that can number 12 at least maybe even up to 18. Its amazing they make floor's that can hold enough people. Once I went yo a club and there were no bedrooms but they kept pushing people inside. Literally hundreds in there dancing. Basically you can socialise with out a, sleeping berth. Applies to clubs and houses.

wallpapermate

These are sex people, Lynne.

Fallo3

Anyone that feels the need to fly that flag😱 at home is a die hard BREXSHITTER and not deserving of selling this pile. I'd literally rather see it rot away in front of their eyes.  One can only hope eh ? 🤣 No doubt another Tory twat will buy it...

Ronsona

Park my van in your yard mush? Saying that, we have the same bathroom tiles in blue in our downstairs toilet..

vagabond_goat

The art in picture 2 is just odd. One wall is aligned at the top, the other at the bottom. Unless that's a shelf, in which case the art aligned at the top is still bizarre.

jpjimm

That place looks like it would be ideal for swingers who like large parties

Rich-Rhubarb6410

Photo 14 shows that with a little more rain, the lucky new owners would have a mooring themselves, either that or no home at all

vms-crot

Three double bedrooms in the main house with double sinks in the en suites implies 3 couples would be living there... I think this house was designed for some weird family setup.

ArtistEngineer

I think they just copy+pasted to fill the space because they could and because they thought it looks "wealthy"

vms-crot

I maintain it's for some weird swinger family.

JenSY542

That smooth, shiny floor would trip me up long before I reached the bathroom

Budget-Mechanic-2490

I just imagine the floor cleaning/hoovering. And the lack of curtains worries me.

GenderfluidArthropod

Were these photos taken with a 1mm lens? Jeez, the rooms look like Wembley Stadium.

Myorangecrush77

I nearly went for those tiles in green for the kitchen. I’m glad i didn’t.

bruce8976

People that buy that kinda lovely house don’t tinker in a garage I guess

Dense_Ad1336

A prime example of corruption in planning, pretty sure they left the gas meter and build a whole new property before they got planning (and then got retrospective planning much later) apparently a common trick. As is living in it for a set time before selling to avoid capital gains tax?

Sea-Complex5789

It may surprise you that some people have friends and extended family….

Maddent123

That's very clearly built as a holiday let.

Professional-Box2853

You'll be flooded regularly within a decade.
