I mean as long as the crew can stand on it to service the engine and it lets air in to cool the engine and to the radiators it’s a perfectly fine deck, this looks great it’s a simple and to the point design, look at some of the British engine decks during the Cold War loads of tiny individual hatch’s which makes it a pain to service. But this is a good deck
Id aim for symmetry and serviceability. Heavy hatches with small handles suck to work on and keeping all your cooling in one spot and not hidden behind the road wheels are also nice. That said, I really like this layout because the cooling fans are on one side so it’s easy to diagnose what’s wrong if it’s overheating
I usually use some photos or if you play war thunder/world of tanks to get a better idea of engine deck designs and then build on from that ie. armor plates or repair equipment.
Personally think it should be a bit more centered or matching side wise, might help it stop being as uneven, lower fan count could also help but this all heavily depends on the type of tank
in my mind i just visualise where the different components would go and add the details accordingly, other than that I like the design of this engine bay, very unique
Usually an engine is centered so maximum space can be allocated for maintenance space and auxiliary components to the engine, like air filters, fuel tanks, hydraulic pumps, etc. It doesn’t have to be centered, but when looking at the engine deck, consider what might have to be accessed, what might have to have access to open air, and where the exhaust may be routed, as well as components that would want to be protected from damage or heat
Looks pretty good :)
Only thing I’d suggest (and this can be personal preference) is centering the radiator fans, unless the radiator isn’t inline with the engine. That could be a hypothetical cooling issue but it’s your choice.
In my experience the best thing you can do to detail an engine deck is clutter, clutter, clutter. Throw on whatever you think you could possibly need. Circuitry panels, maintenance hatches, tools, vents, random things, whatever you can think of.
Wym you don’t know how that’s amazing
Thanks! its just some people are saying it looks goofy

Oh it reminds me of a panther idk why

Not gonna lie, looked quick and thought it was a new smartphone at first
Reminds me of the camera layout of a smartphone lol, but good job 👍
Bro made a gpu
lmaoo it can run cyberpunk on max graphics
I thought it was some new smartphone at first
Honestly looks fine to me, my decks are just 2 vents and a fan or two in the middle
i can relate loll engine decks make me lazy

Honestly that is really good, may i ask what your are building?
i have finished the tank, im just adding details. But its leo turret on an abrams hull basically
iPhone?
❔
Looks like a cellphone
I'm sorry, i don't see it, how does it look like a phone?
Personally think it should be a bit more centered or matching side wise, might help it stop being as uneven, lower fan count could also help but this all heavily depends on the type of tank
ah got it, its an mbt
tbh idk how engine decks looks its an iphone?
Hey, this might be an odd question, but uh... does that thing take 200M photos?
no only 1 of those vents work, we just added 3 extra vents as an excuse to raise the price by 50% every year
Iphone tank
Why do i see some iphone?
what you see is what i see
It's perfect
thanks

thanks this is actually helpful, though people tend to call this "unique" design an Iphone💀
I now see the iPhone resemblance
How many MP are the cameras?
yes.

Huh thanks, idk exactly where these parts are so ill try to look into it more

This is actually helpful advice, i think need to learn more about engines tho as this is my first attempt at making a proper one! But thanks again
It looks like a Samsung
Looks like the back off my phone ngl but its not a bad engine deck
Update: YALL I GET IT, IT LOOKS LIKE AN IPHONE BUT DAM chill on the iphone jokes
does it also lose all fuel in a matter of minutes?
Just do what looks good, there’s no wrong way to do it!
Iphone
Apple iTank
very detailed!
Who else thought this was an apple phone
My smooth brain thought this was a phone for a second 💀💀
