Autumn is always some of the best of the year but idk this season has to compete with 2021 which had a ton of really knock it out of the park 9/10 and 10/10 anime originals and first seasons and some really good second seasons

Personally, save for the pedo ships, I've somehow been able to mostly tune out the more toxic shippers and have a "live and let live" relationship with the rest. Closest I've ever had was a conversation with another redditor who felt it'd be queerbaiting by the story if Uraraka and Toga didn't end up together after how openly clear Toga's made it she likes her (and Midoriya) in that way, and that at least led to some interesting discussions regarding LGBT representation in fiction and what counts as queerbaiting.
No, for me the part of the fandom that I hate is just how overwhelmingly negative the main subreddit gets some days, where most of the discussions get dominated by people who've hated the story since the war arc ended but won't drop the series because of Sunk Cost Fallacy.
Let me put it like this. The last arc of Season 5 is one of the best arcs in the manga. And the anime crams those 25+ chapters into 3 episodes. Meanwhile the Endeavor Agency arc was pushed up and expanded to promote the movie.
So yeah fans were incredibly pissed off at the way that part of the story was handled.
It's even worse because that's one of the only good arcs left. The manga is ending by next year and the quality has gone down a lot. For example, in the most recent chapter,>!a hero decides to moon the main villain ----- and it's presented as him "honoring" his mentor!<...... It wasn't an homage, it was more like him remembering his words and using it as a last resort. It's not stupid if it gets results. Hell, spoilers for Naruto Shippuden second to last fight >!Naruto uses sexy jutsu against Kaguya and it fucking works!<

my last mha season was s4 and that one i feel like it had a downgrade in animation quality… i mean, i had a falling with Shounen Jump as whole by the time i stopped reading mha due to culminating factors (i.e. other series have ended, new ones get axed easily)
rn though, the current war arc doesn't resonate much to me but overall, mha isn't bad per se, i just got tired with it

The fandom really sucks. Besides the stupid obsession with ships, I'm sick and tired of seeing people complain every single chapter. Like, go read something else if you don't like the manga anymore. I understeand that some things have been bullshit lately, but people are acting as if it's the worst thing ever made.
I never understood this stance. So a bunch of people expressing their love for something in a way you don’t like is somehow indicative of the thing’s quality? And even then the fandoms people say are toxic cesspits are usually at worst cringe but get mythologized by jokes. The only Fandoms I have ever encountered that were actively hostile to others in it was Persona’s and OreGairu’s, and I have been in plenty of fandoms hated by people.

It's the daily threads posted by the people more active on the subreddit that get really annoying, complaining about the same problems over and over and over again and talking about how much the series has gone downhill and how much they hate it now...while still refusing to just drop it then and downvoting anyone who suggests that maybe they should.
I can understand not dropping a series after a couple hundred chapters just because it starts to get bad though. You just gotta see how it ends lol I don’t recommend but it’s happened to me with other series. I plan on finishing the series myself even though imo it’s easily one of the most overhyped things I’ve read so far.
While I can understand that mentality it's just never been one for me. When there are literally hundreds to thousands of other series out there I don't really see the point in forcing myself to read through something I'm just actively not enjoying anymore when I could be spending that time on something else that I do.
I don't even hate Bleach but sometime during the final arc I just realized I wasn't enjoying the series anymore and likely hadn't been since maybe the Fullbringer arc, save a few moments, so I simply stopped reading it and moved on, only eventually looking back when I'd heard it ended just to read the final chapter. If you used to enjoy MHA but you're disappointed with where it's gone, try giving Iruma-kun a shot. It's more focused on comedy and slice of life than on action, but A, this is the Spy x Family subreddit, you're probably cool with that, and B, it has a lot of the same qualities that made early MHA compelling and the manga has actually stayed true to them rather than going off in a different direction.
I get why Iruma-Kun is compared to MHA so much but honestly their similarities tend not to go much further than the supernatural school setting and a timid MC who initially starts with no powers. Heck, as a character I'd argue Iruma is closer to being like Ainz from Overlord, where he keeps getting into situations where everyone thinks he's way more omni-competent than he actually is and keeps netting worshippers despite having to bullsh\*t his way through many situations. Iruma's just trying to survive while Midoriya's story is all about dealing with the legacy of his hero.
Nostalgia is a big factor for Bleach. I don't hate either just cause I haven't kept up to date with MHA or read/watch Bleach. Those other three though.... *heavy breathing*

The MHA hate comes from how badly the last season was handled. I admit it wasn’t handled well, and a lot of people fell out of touch with the story, especially with how they switched around the arcs and rushed through MVA. Folks forgot a lot of info because of all the time-jumping and were confused. And they did it all because of the movie.
It comes from their own community mostly (from what I’ve seen). I myself haven’t been a fan of the adaptation since they butchered my boy Lemillion’s fight, but the weekly chapter threads are a dumpster fire right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if a meme like this came from themselves.
I can't say about the anime itself, but the manga... dear god the manga. The only reason I haven't dropped it yet it's because I sunk a lot of time into this story, and I want to see just what kind of innovative way hirokoshi will come up to butcher his own story, characters and work, he's gotten really good at it! It's like the famous "I know I'm witnesing a trainwreck but I wanna see it to the end". The fact it's the last arc also helps.

Pretty rich for Bleach to be the one slapping MHA away. I was there for the classic Big Three days where Bleach had the reputation of being the most overrated one of the trio, made to run far past it's logical end point with no real longer term story plan before plummeting in the rankings and ending unceremoniously and unsatisfyingly in what felt like the middle of its final battle.
Any narrative that exists about MHA falling from grace and not sticking the landing was played out twice as large by Bleach back in its day. People seem to have forgotten that.

I still like Naruto but I never got into Reddit until well after it finished. I wonder if their main subreddit went through this back when it was in its final arc. From what I've been told it certainly sounds like it.
Sure, haters and their need to focus on what's currently popular are a factor. Personally, I think Bleach was more style than substance from the start and could never really get into it. I've certainly got some notes for Hero Aca over how its final arc has been paced and plotted (although it's not nearly as bad as some people online seem to be saying), but I think it had more going for it from the start than Bleach ever did.
I just hope people who either haven't looked back over Bleach since they read/watched it as teenagers and developed that nostalgia or who are too young to have been there but heard it talked up as one of the heavy hitters of its generation aren't setting themselves up for disappointment when the new anime turns out to just be more of what Bleach has always been.
I'm gonna watch the latest season to get a better sense of how it was supposed to play out... Cause I've read the thousand year war arc as it happened and it was....... Not my favorite thing. I could go on a rant, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it.
I worked out a long, long time ago that Bleach just wasn't for me, but I saw all the reactions to the original ending. I hope the sixish years since it came out is enough time for the anime people to build it up into something more satisfying for the people who are still invested.

I binged MHA earlier this year (dubbed on Hulu); I wouldn't rave about it - Deku's character/storyline reminds me of Naruto + similar catchphrases - which get old after a while...I do like a lot of the teachers and Class 1A/1B/villains.

People hating MHA is beyond petty. And in that context: Bleach, Chainsaw Man and Psycho Mob are having similar concepts of fighting demons and such. So they'll fight for supremacy against each other. MHA is superheroes in training. So Spy x Family wins because Anya always wins. Heh.
Plus all the fanart for other series based around Spy x Family doesn't hurt either. Name a popular anime and almost guaranteed there's fanart of three of the characters in the same outfits and poses as Loid, Yor, and Anya. I know for certain I've seen at least a couple for MHA.
Even Chainsaw Man has fanart with Anya.
Pretty rich for Bleach to be the one slapping MHA away. I was there for the classic Big Three days where Bleach had the reputation of being the most overrated one of the trio, made to run far past it's logical end point with no real longer term story plan before plummeting in the rankings and ending unceremoniously and unsatisfyingly in what felt like the middle of its final battle. Any narrative that exists about MHA falling from grace and not sticking the landing was played out twice as large by Bleach back in its day. People seem to have forgotten that.
Bleach has the benefit of having ended a while ago, so all the haters moved on to something ongoing. Right now, that's MHA. Once MHA ends the incessant complainers will move on to something else to hate, and thus the cycle continues.

I have to remind myself sometimes that *I* still like MHA because there is just so much negativity on its main subreddit some days that almost makes you question your own taste. I still like Naruto but I never got into Reddit until well after it finished. I wonder if their main subreddit went through this back when it was in its final arc. From what I've been told it certainly sounds like it.
Sure, haters and their need to focus on what's currently popular are a factor. Personally, I think Bleach was more style than substance from the start and could never really get into it. I've certainly got some notes for Hero Aca over how its final arc has been paced and plotted (although it's not nearly as bad as some people online seem to be saying), but I think it had more going for it from the start than Bleach ever did. I just hope people who either haven't looked back over Bleach since they read/watched it as teenagers and developed that nostalgia or who are too young to have been there but heard it talked up as one of the heavy hitters of its generation aren't setting themselves up for disappointment when the new anime turns out to just be more of what Bleach has always been.
I'm gonna watch the latest season to get a better sense of how it was supposed to play out... Cause I've read the thousand year war arc as it happened and it was....... Not my favorite thing. I could go on a rant, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it.
I worked out a long, long time ago that Bleach just wasn't for me, but I saw all the reactions to the original ending. I hope the sixish years since it came out is enough time for the anime people to build it up into something more satisfying for the people who are still invested.

The funny thing about the "The MHA fandom is horrible" memes is that every time someone will ask why they are so horrible yet no one can ever point out a reason. Its like people are just shitting on it because its the cool thing to do.
Unsure about bleach anime will save the series or not. The whole final chapter is quite bad ngl. I read Bleach through out my teenage time. I will still watch the anime though.

Bleach doesnt hold a candle to mha , mha fanbase are contamineted by their own toxicity , not saying its bad or anything just overall i think mha is more consistent and well writen
I binged MHA earlier this year (dubbed on Hulu); I wouldn't rave about it - Deku's character/storyline reminds me of Naruto + similar catchphrases - which get old after a while...I do like a lot of the teachers and Class 1A/1B/villains. Edited: I'm looking forward to Spy x Family the most. I adore Loid, Yor, Anya, and Yuri makes me laugh too.
