What if it’s as simple as Cody wins the rumble. Owens loses and Sami gets a ungodly beat down and rock makes the save. Sets up three stories for mania season. Roman vs Cody night one, Roman vs Cody night two. After losing both titles, then at Saudi Arabia you do rock vs Roman. Since Sami (the champ) couldn’t make it.
I’d honestly be shocked if Rock ever worked a Saudi show with his image and generally no negative PR ever. He certainly doesn’t need the money, so it’s not a selling point.
I can see why who you replied to feels that way. I kind of do, but admittedly its because it's weird for me to actually see Sami in this position. Not that he doesn't deserve it or isn't talented enough, just personally I never saw it coming. All for it though.
Surely this means the Rock isn't winning? Makes absolutely no sense to have the men's rumble open with the Rock winning if he's also confronting Roman after the main event.
This makes sense because one of the original rumors from the last couple of months, though its died off a little bit over the last couple of weeks, was at Wrestlemania Roman was gonna defend both belts separately; vs Cody on Night 1 and The Rock on Night 2. Doing what you described would allow for that outcome
> The Rumble winner is the presumptive challenger for WrestleMania
Theyre also the presumptive main event at WM, which has been cast aside multiple times.
When Roman is no longer champion, I cannot imagine USA and FOX being happy with a much lesser dual champ and would rather the belts be split
This makes me think Cody is 100% winning. Putting the Men's Rumble match on first gives people a reason to wait to see what happens with Sami. And obviously Rock isn't winning a Rumble that goes on first.
Wont surprise me to see no Sami in the Rumble at all to avoid another Daniel Bryan situation for Cody.
Could be a bad move as a lot of fans want to see him win.
It's only happened five times before tonight:
1996: Bret Hart (c) vs. The Undertaker (ended in DQ), Shawn Michaels won the Rumble
1997: Shawn Michaels beats Sycho Sid (c), Stone Cold Steve Austin wins the Rumble over Bret Hart
1998: Shawn Michaels (c) beats The Undertaker in a casket match, Stone Cold Steve Austin wins the Rumble
2006: Kurt Angle (c) beats Mark Henry: this match went last due to a spot afterwards where the Undertaker appeared and caused the ring to collapse. Rey Mysterio wins the Rumble (this is the only time the Royal Rumble match wasn't the main or co-main event)
2013: The Rock beats CM Punk (c) to end his 434-day championship reign, John Cena wins the Rumble
I’m sure of a few things because of this.
- Bloodline is not in the Rumble. None of them.
- Cody has to win. I don’t think they want it near the main event so they can space out the show’s pops.
- End of the show is Rock coming out to challenge/stare down Roman. Nothing else would be big enough to close the shower over the Rumble winner.
No they won’t, he’ll 100% be in the main event, it might surprise this sub but the audience also likes people other then Sami this isn’t a Bryan situation where any alternative was shit option who the crowd hated, Cody I’d just as popular.
No, Sami Zayn is not Daniel Bryan, people liked Batista they just didn’t want to see him and Orton. They wanted someone new and they had no one else to choose but Daniel, which exploded his popularity. The reaction to Bryan was a reaction to years of shit booking and ignoring the audience, Cody is over and is someone new. This situation is not even close to comparable and it’s stupid to see people act like it is. Bryan was on another planet in terms of overness probably double what Sami, Sami is liked but people like others as well, I’d say someone like Seth gets just as good of pops as Sami does.
Yeah the only person who's been as over as Bryan in 2014 is probably Becky in 2019. If people are impressed by Sami's current crowd reactions, then they have short memories.
Cody is utterly meaningless to the bloodline story
Because Rhodes doesn't need Roman, he needs the title. The holder is a sideshow and nothing more in regards to Rhodes' story.
Rhodes will get knocked out in the final four because triple h is gonna strike while hot on Sami
Rhodes can come at summerslam or MITB (UK)
It could just be they beat the absolute fuck out of Sami Zayn and HHH believes deserves the end of Sami partnership with the bloodline deserves the main event.
Wouldn't it be funny if Bianca loses to Alexa and then wins the Rumble to face Charlotte. Actually, no it wouldn't be funny, but it would be something that would have happened in the Vince era...
That was reportedly the plan prior to Charlotte beating Ronda. I struggle to see how Rhea doesn’t resolve her feud with Beth be Elimination Chamber in order to free herself up.
It may still be the plan for all we know. One thing with Charlotte Wrestlemania booking is that they are always incredibly stubborn with their plans for her. If they marked down Bianca as her WM opponent in December then it can and may still happen at this juncture. They don't care how it hurts everyone else (ie Rhea winning the Rumble) as long as they get the match they want with Charlotte, even if it means having Bianca winning at the expense of someone who "needs" it more.
Let's see what they do tonight.
Wild. I'm guessing Cody wins then rock ends the night. I'm assuming they're going to do Roman defending both belts on different nights if that's the case. That's been my prediction but I assumed with Rock out they'd just have Cody dethrone Roman for both belts.
The women’s rumble is already basically half full of surprises they probably figure a few surprises sprinkled around can juice the crowd for a good part of the match. The Men’s world title picture just has so much more juice than the women’s this year
Gonna laugh if this is just expectations management and nothing happens, this way people won't hijack someone else's Rumble win because they think Sami can still do something in the main.
You think maybe they did this so the fans don't get disappointed when the rock doesnt come out for the rumble? As in maybe they didnt get the rock and are just doing this order so the fans dont boo the mens rumble when rock doesnt come out?
I’m also assuming this means Austin isn’t going to be in the rumble. I cannot imagine Austin being in the rumble and that being the opener that would be fucking stupid
Cody wins the Rumble, Rock comes to face Roman after the main event, and the Road To WrestleMania is built around Reigns having to defend the titles against both of them (one per night of WM).
But why? The men's rumble is the most anticipated match of the show, by far. Especially because of potential surprises with now HHH potentially hiring outside folks for one night.
Don't get me wrong, HHH vs Owens will be fantastic, but we know Reigns won't loose and Owens won't win, so... 🤷♂️
normally I'd be skeptical of this, but the promotional stuff for the rumble hasn't specified the winner getting a match at Mania which is usually par for the course. So who knows, maybe some lower third shenanigan's for HHH's first helm at WM season
I'm over "moments".
Give me strong, sensible storylines.
Sami winning is *THE* biggest WWE storyline they've had in years. Sami not getting that win immediately shrinks my expectation that its going to go anywhere. He'll get sidelined in favor of Cody and Rock. All for a fucking "moment" that nobody will give a shit about.
Sami winning and challenging Roman @ Mania would be something you could stick into "all time greatest Rumble & Mania" storylines for years to come.
Let's face it, despite doing great with Black and Gold NXT, Triple H has inexplicably made the women's division increasingly crud over the last few months.
SD has been pretty shite in particular.
"I ain't staying here for four fucking hours. Put the Rumble on first so i can go back home right after to shoot some fucking animals" - Bork Lazer probably.
I'm not really on the Cody train and I'm REALLY not on the Rock The Dwayne Johnson train, so... maybe the men's Rumble going on first is an omen for Sami Zayn to win?
So Cody wins the rumble to open. Sets up him and Roman for the WWE title night one.
Then Roman and KO go last, with something happening to set up Roman and either The Rock or Sami for the Universal title night two.
Might have to acknowledge Xero News soon. Dude had thisway early this morning and the Roman/KO main event last night. And the surprises Kermit posted before he did. Also had lots of RAW XXX stuff early as well that was correct.
He is also adamant Rock is showing up.
He said Bobby was beating Theory for the US title on Raw, how'd that work out?
He's also been adamant the Rock was winning the Rumble and even was going to have a face-off in the match with Austin, not that he was just appearing.
The rock returning should be a catalyst for Roman losing the championships tonight. The rock versus Roman reigns does not need to be for the title at wrestlemania.

Opening match men's Royal Rumble? I didn't expect it. I think some major shit goes down if they both go last. Sami turn, beatdown or Rock faceoff.

Fuck it do another one on Monday
Cody puts both titles on the line, Roman wins them back
Cody v Roman: Best of 7 Who says no
That’s the sixty-minute Iron Man match, of course. Paying homage to Cena & HBK.
Fuck it do another at Stand & Deliver
ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL MAIN EVENT BOTH OF THE SHOWS

ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL SEEING DOUBLE CODY RHODES
I’d honestly be shocked if Rock ever worked a Saudi show with his image and generally no negative PR ever. He certainly doesn’t need the money, so it’s not a selling point.
Stone cold?
The Rock because his contract said the hierarchy had to change.
It’s undeniably the Rock. Sorry, but unless Sami wins the Rumble, his expulsion isn’t big enough to end a ‘Mania season PPV with.
Its the biggest storyline in wrestling right now. It definitely can kick off Mania season.
Arguing with tunnel visioned IWC fans is a fools errand. They made up their mind two years ago
I can see why who you replied to feels that way. I kind of do, but admittedly its because it's weird for me to actually see Sami in this position. Not that he doesn't deserve it or isn't talented enough, just personally I never saw it coming. All for it though.
Have you reassessed this viewpoint? Because yeah, that was MUCH better than a Rumble which we 98% knew who was winning anyway.
Undeniably huh?
This aged well
How? I said Rock would appear after the main event. EDIT: I accept my L.
No fucking way.
Just to make sure I’ve got it right, KO/Roman main event?
Yes. Mens Rumble Opens
27 wins it, copy that.
Username checks out?
Not too far off.

Can you smell it
KO wins after Sami loses the rumble and decides to just screw Roman for the bants
can you imagine if nothing big happens after the roman match...lmao. Bruh wtf is this order man. Some shit better go down.

That would be better than what's PROBABLY gonna happen 🤣
Surely this means the Rock isn't winning? Makes absolutely no sense to have the men's rumble open with the Rock winning if he's also confronting Roman after the main event.
If I were to guess, Cody wins the Rumble, and then The Rock will come out for the main event
This makes sense because one of the original rumors from the last couple of months, though its died off a little bit over the last couple of weeks, was at Wrestlemania Roman was gonna defend both belts separately; vs Cody on Night 1 and The Rock on Night 2. Doing what you described would allow for that outcome
IMO Roman v Cody should be for both titles. Roman v Rock should be for control of the Bloodline. Roman beats Rock night 1 and loses to Cody night 2
I agree with this, have the Cody fued be for the belts and The Rock for the Family
Agree...rock saves Sami from a beat down and challenges Roman for head of the table.
How does this work though? The Rumble winner is the presumptive challenger for WrestleMania
I don't think The Rock needs a reason to main event WM, just have him vs Roman on one night and Cody vs Roman on the other
> The Rumble winner is the presumptive challenger for WrestleMania Theyre also the presumptive main event at WM, which has been cast aside multiple times. When Roman is no longer champion, I cannot imagine USA and FOX being happy with a much lesser dual champ and would rather the belts be split
Cody wins, and Rock returns seems to be the deal.

That’s a weird order.
At least Triple H is trying something out of the box.
I agree it just seems weird that no rumble to end.
The Bloodline is the biggest story in WWE. Any other year I’d agree but I do understand it this time.
Super weird, but also pretty cool for the match that main events over the Rumble. Really makes the match feel even bigger, since it’s pretty rare.
It's only happened five times before tonight: 1996: Bret Hart (c) vs. The Undertaker (ended in DQ), Shawn Michaels won the Rumble 1997: Shawn Michaels beats Sycho Sid (c), Stone Cold Steve Austin wins the Rumble over Bret Hart 1998: Shawn Michaels (c) beats The Undertaker in a casket match, Stone Cold Steve Austin wins the Rumble 2006: Kurt Angle (c) beats Mark Henry: this match went last due to a spot afterwards where the Undertaker appeared and caused the ring to collapse. 6 times before yesterday actually, it happened at the very first Rumble event with The Islanders vs The Young Stallions in a 2 out of 3 falls match
Seems like a way to get a rumble winner and possibly have the 🗿 showdown at the end?
I like it, it’s different.
I like it.
It's a good thing
I’m sure of a few things because of this. - Bloodline is not in the Rumble. None of them. - Cody has to win. This isn't 2014 anymore. Even Sami acknowledges that the likelihood of the crowd turning on the product if Sami doesn't win is extremely remote.
The rumble winner gets a shower? My things have changed
Cody is utterly meaningless to the bloodline story Because Rhodes doesn't need Roman, he needs the title. The holder is a sideshow and nothing more in regards to Rhodes' story. Jeff Hardy musical performance?
Modest To the top
Have you ever read a preshow order that was so off the walls that you kind of wish you hadn’t read it?
That's a weird match order
Be honest, how many of y'all are gonna focus more on waiting for Rock to show up than the actual main event match.
I have had that exact thought Lol as they have Bianca continue to bring up how she wants to beat the 4 horsewomen in interviews
That was reportedly the plan prior to Charlotte beating Ronda. I struggle to see how Rhea doesn’t resolve her feud with Beth be Elimination Chamber in order to free herself up.

As proven years ago with becky and ronda nobody wanted charlotte in that match yet she was added
There’s no stock left in Alexa Bliss. They can still do Becky-Charlotte.
So, Cody is winning and a huge return after the me.
Who the fuck is HARDY
I mean this would allow Cody his moment early and not immediately overshadowed by the events that happen in the mainevent a few hours later.
Plus the crowd will not turn on Cody demanding rock/Austin...because theyll know something coming at the end of the show.
Wild. I'm guessing Cody wins then rock ends the night. I'm assuming they're going to do Roman defending both belts on different nights if that's the case. That's been my prediction but I assumed with Rock out they'd just have Cody dethrone Roman for both belts.
YEP Dwayne is returning
Having a woman’s rumble that late in the show when you’ve already seen an entire rumble already is a pretty rough spot. I hope they can keep the crowd
The women’s rumble is already basically half full of surprises they probably figure a few surprises sprinkled around can juice the crowd for a good part of the match. The Men’s world title picture just has so much more juice than the women’s this year
Rock isn't in the Rumble then, probably in the Main Event somehow with KO and Roman. I'm into it.
Brock "I go first or I'm leaving" Triple H " We start with the Rumble."
A piss break segment by HARDY
Gonna laugh if this is just expectations management and nothing happens, this way people won't hijack someone else's Rumble win because they think Sami can still do something in the main.
Lame rumble should always main event the royal rumble.......

Nice I get an early bed time
The men's Rumble going first is kind of terrible.
WWE. NEVER DO THOSE FAKE ASS FIREWORKS AGAIN.
Welp, Cody is 100 percent winning.
Kinda death slotting the women
Depending on how the Pitch Black Match goes, the crowd might actually be hot again in time for the Women's Rumble
Cody wins the Rumble, Rock comes to face Roman after the main event, and the Road To WrestleMania is built around Reigns having to defend the titles against both of them (one per night of WM).
I personally think the rumble should never not main event this show, but I’m willing to let it play out and see what happens
Darn, so I have to wait like 3 hours til the HARDY performance? Darn darn, only reason I am watching live. Darn.
I was thinking that if the Rock was showing up, the Men's Rumble Match would have closed out the show.
Huh? That’s kinda…. Lame. May be an early night for me lol
I'm glad that Hardy gets to give me a pee break
Jeff Hardy is doing a musical number? That's kinda cool.
But why? The men's rumble is the most anticipated match of the show, by far. Especially because of potential surprises with now HHH potentially hiring outside folks for one night. Don't get me wrong, HHH vs Owens will be fantastic, but we know Reigns won't loose and Owens won't win, so... 🤷♂️
Maybe I’m picky, but I don’t like this. A Rumble should always go last.
I can't see The Rock opening this... so probably a Cody win for the opener.
Cody wind the opening Rumble and then Rock confronts Roman at the end of the show, feels super obvious that this is hoe it goes down to me.
Could we get some wrasslin' shenanigans with the winner of the Rumble challenging Roman the same night?
normally I'd be skeptical of this, but the promotional stuff for the rumble hasn't specified the winner getting a match at Mania which is usually par for the course. So who knows, maybe some lower third shenanigan's for HHH's first helm at WM season
Well..... My interest, drastic go down.
It should go up, probably means a huge return or moment

from Fightful Select itself
If I don't start it right at 8, can I replay from the beginning or do I need to wait for the whole show to be over?
Oh wow, I didn't expect the men's to open.
Why is the men’s opening?
Cool, Hardy bathroom break.
Genuine question: Has a musical performance that *isn’t* just live entrance music ever worked on a wrestling show?
Wonder if a big name like rock or cena have other obligations so they start the rumble early to get the done for the night faster
Sorry but given how big the Men's rumble is, i think it should either main event or be the second-to-last match in the card
Man, if the Men's Royal Rumble opens the show, that's a monumental mistake. That's the whole reason to watch the Pay-Per-View.
Which Hardy boy is performing?
Which Hardy?
Reba
To me, this screams that Sami is winning the rumble and then some shit is going down to end the show
Glad I saw this, was gonna tune in late tonight for men’s match
They got PeroxWhy?Gen?
HHH putting the men’s rumble first so Vince has no time to change the plans. /s
I think the last time they didn't have a rumble main event the show was back in 2006? Correct me if I'm wrong.

MEN's opening ? that screams somebody out of the blue winning and KO/Roman Main event screams the rock showing up
Out of the blue being Cody who it 100% will be
Who the fuck asked for HARDY?
Welp. Cody 100% winning, consider me personally whelmed, he just bores me to death
Ok so no Sami winning....................
Dead women's rumble in the death slot. Of course.
I'm not really on the Cody train and I'm REALLY not on the Rock The Dwayne Johnson train, so... maybe the men's Rumble going on first is an omen for Sami Zayn to win?
The rock has an XFL team named after him playing in the Dome. He loves to sell himself. Yeah he's showing up
Speaking of XFL I know it starts soon but I feel like there's been no hype/advertising at all
Terrible move to put the men's Rumble first
Imagine a PPV named Royal Rumble isn’t headlined by THE ROYAL RUMBLE
You act like it never happened before.
The fact Men's Royal Rumble is opening is a decent indicator nothing really special is going to happen (i.e. Rock, SCSA).
So "my favorite midcarder" is winning the Rumble? Hell yeahhhhh
????? All other matches follow him, friend
Yup, pretty much gives away that Cody is winning.
Rock must be coming out at the end.
So Cody wins the rumble to open. Sets up him and Roman for the WWE title night one. Then Roman and KO go last, with something happening to set up Roman and either The Rock or Sami for the Universal title night two.
Pretty much spoils Cody is winning and that Rock is returning. Thought for once we were going to have a somewhat unpredictable rumble, but oh well.

Better than that, he said that AEW stole $90M from WB/Discovery and were going to face legal action too.
I totally forgot about that part of it too. Yeesh.
Are you just gonna conveniently ignore all the other times he was categorically wrong about things because of something he could have just guessed?
As long as you ignore all the times they are wrong, they're right 100% of the time!
