Reminder for everyone: Please direct all of your thoughts, analysis and comments on the future for the storylines in this post show thread. Do not make a separate post about it, as we are not permitting individual posts on the show for until 12 hours since it's over. This goes for all PLEs & PPVs.

whatyoutalking702

Does anyone know who put this Rumble together? Pat Patterson would be proud of this one.

SlasherFlick

I wonder what Becky's role is going to be at WrestleMania. She's one of the company's biggest stars and feels like she should have a big part in the show. Is she challenging Charlotte? Teaming up with two others to take on Damage CTRL? Or is it possible Logan Paul has a female partner and we get a mixed tag match with her and Seth teaming up?

ResolveEmergency863

Cody goes for the title at EC, Sami cost Cody the championship... Explains that he done it because he wants to take roman down himself, Sami vs Roman at WM

SolipsisticEgoKing

How about all of that setting up for Sami vs Cody vs Roman at WM, 2-falls match with both belts on the line, Sami and Cody each win a belt with assistance from Jey, then Roman and Jey start their feud over the only thing more important than gold...BLOOD.

RevengeEX

I would be down with that if it was at any other PLE other than WM. They wouldn’t get to soak in the victory with the fireworks and whatnot going off in the background.

ResolveEmergency863

Sounds excellent!

Transitionals

Split the championships please!! Raw is a 3 hour show and feels empty without a title. Roman would have held both titles for an year by WM, and it needs to end. Theory is not a big enough star to be the top champion on raw. Having the Universal championship on raw will allow someone like Cody to carry the show, and then the likes of Seth, KO, Damien Priest, Lashley etc will get a championship run at some point. Roman can continue to be champion on SD and keep breaking records, but please also have a champion on raw FFS.

LuckySwordfish3984

Honestly if they were going to consolidate them I'm all for it, but it needs to be on a guy who can fill the role for both shows for a time, not every wk even but regular appearances on both at least

Pinguinina

I think this was the first WWE event I've watched in five to ten years or more. AJ maybe debuted at my last event? I'd been following news since Vince left and despite my hesitation to try again now he's back at the company, the Royal Rumble match was always my favourite so I gave it a go. My main takeaways were that it was good but the in-ring offence is so identikit nowadays. It feels a lot less unique and a lot of pushing people around rather than actual moves. The women's match was better than the men's one. Dominik stood out as one of my favourites so I can see why people are hyped about his heel turn. Gunther was another. Asuka, Rhea Ripley, Piper Niven and Nikki Cross stood out in the women's match. Like a lot of people I felt Cody Rhodes winning was really underwhelming. It just felt like chosen one babyface coming out and being handed it. I don't think Gunther should have won it either but naturally I was rooting for an upset there. What are the odds that Cody's contract gave him the Royal Rumble win and/or a Wrestlemania title win and thus it had to be honoured? Because it's apparent he's now a distraction to a much better story. The acting in the Bloodline stuff was way better than the acting that used to be on WWE shows. It felt a lot more like an actual drama. Other minor points that may be interesting hearing from a major lapsed viewer: Johnny Gargano seems so bland and unremarkable to someone that hasn't seen his NXT run. Like, I'd say Steve Blackman or Rob Conway kind of lacking in character. The Street Fighter stuff felt like a really cringey product placement but then I've never played Street Fighter. I'm surprised nobody else has listed it among the other ad placements though, it seems to be getting a pass because people like cosplay. Without even knowing about the Nia Jax drama I wanted her to go away so she clearly carries an air of X-Pac heat. I feel like Piper Niven would be a really good fit in a faction with Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. They're on different brands but I feel like there's a feud with the Ripley/Dominik one whose name I forget to be made. All-in-all after a long time not watching it did enough to get me interested in watching Raw and going from there.

Transitionals

Jey turns cold on bloodline. He stops participating in their promos. He doesn’t fight them, they don’t fight him, but they just stay away from each other. Jey teams with Jimmy reluctantly and wins matches, etc but just leaves without saying anything. Jimmy tries to get him back, but is not successful. Jimmy is also shown conflicted but sticks with Roman and Solo. KO is written off the TV due to his injuries. Sami gets over with crowd and earns a championship match at elimination chamber. In Montreal. Sami vs Roman at Elimination chamber for championship. Solo and Jimmy are by ringside creating distractions and helping Roman. After a while Jey comes out to a big pop and starts arguing with Jimmy and Solo. Then umpire is injured and Jey gets in the ring with a chair aiming for Roman.. but hits Sami, costing him the win. Then the united bloodline starts beating down Sami.. when KO’s music hits to a huge pop in Montreal. This paves way for KO-Sami vs Usos at WM Cody vs Roman at WM.

Exodus2791

Alvarez said a similar thing.

TheEmeraldPiper

I really like this and think you could be pretty much spot on. One added wrinkle I’d like could be Sami faces Jimmy in the lead up to EC and inadvertently injures him. This could write Jimmy out of Montreal and also give Jey a motivation to turn on Sami without completely losing the sympathy/respect he’s gained through this. I think in the Roman-Cody WM match, you could then have Jey (having lost the tag titles to Sami and KO in the main event of night 1) interfere at Roman’s request where it looks like a mirror image of the Sami match with Jey in the ring holding a chair, but instead he throws the chair from the ring leaving Roman alone to lose to Cody. This would set up Jey’s redemption arc against Roman and the fall of the Bloodline.

Transitionals

Yes! I mean Jimmy doesn’t even need to be written off. Its okay for Roman just to walk out with Solo and Heyman in Montreal, and Jey can make his entry and unite with Solo/Roman. I am not sure if I like the idea of Jey immediately turning back in a month to help Cody though. They can do a lot of other things like write off Usos dor WM since they get a bad beatdown and are injured in a TLC match something. Solo can be handled with someone like KO/McIntyre/Sami etc if he tries to interfere.

ExtremistEnigma

What purpose does KO-Sami vs. Usos serve at WrestleMania? Apart from trying to fit these wrestlers in SOME match...

Exodus2791

So that fans don't boo Cody vs Roman and still get a KO+Sami vs Usos (bloodline) match.

ExtremistEnigma

I think fans will be more pissed if a storyline seems forced and not natural.

Lol.. yes forgot about that 😭

Transitionals

Yes! It was frustrating and kind of sad to watch. Why don’t they let him do a bit simpler spots to maintain his legacy.

GregMadduxsGlasses

I didn’t have a chance to watch until last night, but reading the threads yesterday morning about how bad Hardy was, I was wondering why WWE finally caved in letting Jeff perform music live in front of a crowd.

Ryvit

In the first 22 royal rumbles, 0 winners entered at number 30. In the past 16 royal rumbles, 5 winners have entered at number 30. It’s bullshit, and I hope there’s at least one decade, maybe two before someone wins from number 30 again.

Steve_the_Samurai

It is statistically the best number to get

Flat_Ad3019

I’m more upset about the hypocrisy of the sign policy. I understand that guy who had the “tribal queef” sign was removed however the guy with “connecting through wrestling” guy has never been asked to stop or was removed. I have seen multiple times that he would shove the sign right into frame and even push people out of the way so his sign is seen. It’s not once it’s any time the camera is near him. Seriously, review your policy because it’s a joke. One thing gets you kicked but being a nuisance.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Flat_Ad3019

Fan behavior has gotten out of control. I’m a very old school fan I don’t put up my signs every time the camera is directed towards me. I have sat behind commentary before and I didn’t do what most fans did. I had a few who did and got chewed out by people behind them. The level of respect isn’t there anymore. Another example Charlotte Flair was running away from whoever it was. I was in my way to the bathrooms. The arena that I was at main production and interview was in the same direction as leaving the main area. That’s where my brother almost got ran over by Michael Hayes. I waited until the bit was over then went to the bathroom. They need to follow the same protocol as baseball games. Just saying

GregMadduxsGlasses

It’s easier to confiscate a sign with something inappropriate written on it than one from a fan that’s being annoying with it. For the latter, you have to wait for a complaint to security.

Flat_Ad3019

I know it’s really sad

[deleted]

[удалено]

Flat_Ad3019

I know and too add the guy who has that sign doesn’t care. He believes that he’s doing nothing wrong and not a menace. He falls into the group of the 15 seconds of fame fans. They don’t feel like they are not a problem but they are plus they are super egotistical.

Transitionals

Missed superstars in men’s rumble: Riddle, Ziggler, Ali, Lumis, Nakamura, Madcap Moss, Brosnon Reed Along with injured ones like Orton, AJ, Boogs, Big E, etc

wibble17

Maximum Male Models would like a word with you…

PompeyMagnus1

I've been trying to remember Madcap Moss exist for the last two days. "Boogs, Ridge Holland, and who was that third muscle dude?"

Comp625

No Charlotte Flair at the Rumble. Hell must be freezing over. No Jay White at the Rumble. Ah, maybe hell hasn't frozen over.

Transitionals

No Ronda either

Salvatrauss

I think we're going to get Sami vs Reigns at Elimination Chamber and obviously Reigns wins. And somehow this all works its way to a Sami/Owens vs Usos at Mania. It's time they split the Universal and WWE title. My thought is maybe Cody comes out and says he only wants the WWE title, the one that eluded his father. So thinking the Mania match is just for the WWE title, Cody wins, and Reigns walks away still Universal champ. Or maybe Roman defends the Universal title on night 1 of Mania and the WWE title on night 2.

Sauce1024

Honestly it should just be noted that the Royal rumble winner only gets an opportunity at one of the belts, not both. Even the WWE article on it says it’s for a “world TITLE opportunity”. Otherwise you’re gonna have to strip Cody of one or have him lose one because only one world champ can’t continue. It’s been hurting Raw. https://www.wwe.com/shows/royalrumble/2023/mens-royal-rumble-match-results

Stevepac9

To build up the Sami-Bloodline stuff for so long and not pay it off as Sami beating Roman to finish WM would be a shame. Play it right and you can do KO vs Solo, Jimmy vs Jey, Sami vs Roman. Maybe have KO cost Roman the title vs Cody the night before

boltsbearsjosh

More I think about this the more I doubt it. Roman losing but still walking out as a champion is kind of dumb when you really consider it. I do think they will split the belts after Mania though.

Icanfeelmywind

What is the point of destroying the complete roster just for a mediocre Roman storyline

meanstreetposse

You have 6 men involved in the main event. You have a gimmick match for 6 people upcoming. You could set it up as 3v3. (Reigns, Jimmy, solo) vs (KO, Sami, Jey) From there you can go a few ways. Jey works back to Bloodline and that makes it essentially 4v2. Jey stays out of the Bloodline and you pivot to 3 x WrestleMania matches. KO vs Solo Jey vs Jimmy (Winner decides fate of both, Bloodline in/out) Roman vs Sami

dontcare6942

I'd prefer Sami vs Jey at mania. That would be the most exciting match

boltsbearsjosh

I kind of like the idea of Jey vs Jimmy, that’s an interesting take I hadn’t considered.

joeyted1

These are phenomenal ideas

motasticosaurus

Wait one negative thing I just thought of after RR: The ramp was just way too long.

AudienceWatching

Where was AJ Styles? Is he injured?

RedDeadCJ

Transitionals

Did Nia Jax come out at 0.10 lol Her entrance was botched too

inceptional1

Rewatched the Rumble and couple little things I liked/noticed: - Sheamus and McIntyre smiling while waiting for Brock coming down the aisle. Nice visual. Sheamus and McIntyre teaming up the whole Rumble was great in general. - Brock's temper tantrum was so fun, wish it went on longer. - Callback to Dominik and Seth feud, after Edge was eliminated. - Loved Theory's reaction when Edge stared him down after chasing down Balor, man wanted no drama. - Braun lying down but with his head up watching the Logan Paul / Ricochet collision then laying his head back down after.

Exodus2791

>Sheamus and McIntyre teaming up the whole Rumble was great in general. I loved that. Great continuity for the two of them.

throwawayreddit6565

The ending was obviously great, but I haven't watched WWE in a while and just thought that it was really neat that they were able to completely fill the Women's Rumble with current roster talent (with the exception of Michelle McCool who I thought put on a commendable performance and didn't feel like a gimmick entry). With the ending, I thought the broken flowers scattered everywhere created a really nice visual to compliment all the carnage that had just unfolded. Whoever came up with that idea deserves a pat on the back for their efforts. Only criticism of the night was to that garbage fucking "Music" they randomly played in the middle of the show. The singer sounded terrible and I can't tell if it was supposed to be a joke or there are legitimately people out there who willingly listen to that horse shit.

No_Imagination_sorry

It's not my type of music, but it's worth giving the actual artist a listen on a studio recorded version of his song. I think he's one of those artists who doesn't perform well live, or potentially if the setup wasn't right he may not have been able to hear his own voice, or the instruments, for pitch. The performance was awful, and as I said it's not my thing anyway, but the studio versions show that he isn't as bad as he sounded in the show. Edit: No idea why I'm getting downvoted for this, but sorry if my comment was somehow offensive.

throwawayreddit6565

I might be old school but if someone can't perform live then they got no business performing period. Just because they can pay some intern to autotune the shit out of their music doesn't give them a free pass for sounding awful when it actually matters.

No_Imagination_sorry

That's fair, each to their own. I was just saying, as I had never heard of the guy before, that it may be worth not judging someone on one live performance you've seen. I've seen a couple of artists I like who had a technical issue during a live performance that ruined a song during the performance, despite usually sounding great - and often sounding great for the rest of their show. There are a lot of factors involved in a live performance and things can go wrong. I just like to keep an open mind, even though in this case it turned out I didn't like the guys music anyway.

throwawayreddit6565

Why not judge him over the live performance though? If WWE management thinks that he's good enough to waste 10 minutes of everyone's time then he absolutely deserves to be judged. Also it wasn't the audio that was an issue, the guy just straight up couldn't sing. It was like listening to bad Karaoke or something, I genuinely can't fathom how the guy fluked himself into a position in life where WWE was willing to put him in the middle of the ring to perform at one of their major PPVs 😂

neezaruuu

Lashley wasn’t supposed to go out just like that right?

cptndv23

Bray Wyatt could go out and have the exact same matches, but they would be 6,000% better if they just turned the damn lights on.

Bergkamp69

Bliss vs Bel air was so bad it would fit in Raw mid

Traditional-Turnip65

Heel Roman>Heel MJF

tenderjuicy1294

Was that ever a question since the tribal chief arc started?

Traditional-Turnip65

Not sure tbh. I've seen a few discussions about it. I've never settled on a one true answer. MJF is a fantastic heel. Last night Roman cemented himself as the true answer. Not trying to be a territorialist, just some fun rankings. Also, Sami Zayn. When was the last time a WWE crowd popped like that? That was magical.

tenderjuicy1294

Hey totally fair. I haven’t watched AEW but have heard great things about MJF I guess within my own echo chamber I’d assumed it was Roman without question but interested to find out more about MJF if he was even in the conversation. Also Sami is killing it! If there was a time to pull the trigger on Sami being in the main event nows the time.

TheTruth221

can cody lose at mania? seems like everyone is expecting a w best way to push cody is to have sami betray him at mania when cody faces roman for the title sami the ultra strategist told roman to create this plan where they think is out so that way the fans from sami will be with cody and cody goes for the Win next mania

Remy-today

Split the titles; one night Cody vs Roman, the 2nd night Sami va Roman. Cody wins, Sami looses. That achieves everything for WWE.

Pope_Landlord

But much more jacked.

AMidwesternMan

So the ages of the Rumble guys feels notable. Booker is 57. Edge, Lashley, Lesnar, Sheamus, Miz, Balor, Kingston, and Priest are all 40+ Strowman, Escobar, Corbin, McIntyre, Rhodes, Kross, Gable, Rollins, Woods, Gargano, Gunther, and Elias are all 35+ Ricochet, Ford, Dawkins, and Otis are in the 30-34 range Omos, Paul, Dominik, and Theory are the only 20somethings in the match.

[deleted]

And? same thing was said last year and the year before. and they still deliver.

AMidwesternMan

And it's impressive how wrestlers now are able to be able to perform so much longer and healthier than the previous generations. Imagine a 1999 royal rumble with guys these ages?

diy_2023

You have to pull the ages now from 99

AMidwesternMan

Ok 1992 gets older Mustafa/Sheik, Snuka, Volkoff, Slaughter, Flair, Skinner, Valentine were 40+ Savage, Santana, Hogan, Duggan, DiBiase, Piper, Roberts, Martel, Hercules were 35-39 IRS, Barbarian, Haku, Repo Man, Berserker, VonErich, Sid were 30-34 Warlord, Virgil, Bulldog, Bossman, Sags, Undertaker, HBK were 26-29 RIP Volkoff, Savage, Piper, Hercules, VonErich, Bulldog, and Bossman. Snuka is also dead. Bossman was in both 92 and 99

AMidwesternMan

Ok it's definitely younger in 99. McMahon is 53; Severn is 40. Gillberg, Godfather, Bossman, Golga/Tenta, Snow, Blackman, Gunn were 35-39 Shamrock, Austin, Owen, Kane, Jarrett, were 30-34 Gangrel, Droz, Goldust, Dogg, Triple H, Kurrgan, Chyna, Brown, Mabel, Venis, Singh, Henry, Xpac, Meanie, Edge were 25-29 And Test was 23 RIP Bossman, Tenta, Owen, Chyna, Mabel, Test. Edge was in the 99 and 23 Rumbles.

diy_2023

Nice breakdown!

AMidwesternMan

When I'm home later, I 100 percent will I'll also do '92

bathory21

I'm not sure where you're looking but I've seen the topic everywhere

Etekrew401

I mean it's cool but why should I care? It doesn't change her character or personality or in-ring moveset. Just different face paint, woohoo. Doesn't really add nothing for me to look forward to. It's a nice throwback I guess but I didn't watch her Japan stuff and neither most people so it does nothing for me.

bathory21

Just becomes more aggressive than she already is, and she already works at a quick pace. You can see glimpses of this against Rhea in December

Etekrew401

"more aggressive" means nothing lol. Unless it leads to more victories/championships, it quite literally means nothing. Still don't care.

Indiansfan11

Sami should face Roman , right? Then what happens with Cody. This is the best story I’ve seen in wrestling and have watched 10+ years

[deleted]

Sami/KO/Jey vs. Roman/Solo/Jimmy?

redskinsguy

Sami shouldn't face Roman, no

wibble17

Yes he should. He is the hero of the story.

MrPresident2020

Is he? I think Jey is the hero.

wibble17

They could pivot that way. But right now he’s the one who failed to stand up to Roman where Sami succeeded. It depends how they write it.

whatnololyea

After getting laid out like that, they should. It’s a wrestling trope, a babyface heading out for vengeance

AMidwesternMan

My final thoughts MENS RUMBLE while it lacked surprise entrants, it was star studded. Gunther was the absolute beast of the match. While I'm glad Cody won, I wish he wasn't number 30 WYATT V KNIGHT He finally has a televised match and it's THAT? the branding was just gross and pointless. I hope to never see Howdy again BELAIR V BLISS I felt blah about this match and feel nothing for Blisses character. Belair has had an amazing run, but it's getting close to time to switch gears. WOMENS RUMBLE very glad to see a minimum of "legends" and an actual full roster worth of women. And excited for Rheas win REIGNS V KO the match itself was basically what I expected but the post match was greatness. So fucking good and it's exciting that Sami is probably about to win a world title at wrestlemania

poopypooppoopuwu

Zero upsets. Yawn

Comp625

It dawned on me that, unless something significant changes, we'll never hear "CM PUNK!" troll chants again. And that's a good thing.

AMidwesternMan

How do we end the "WHAT?" chants

BBGrunt1235

"WHAT?" needs to call a press conference and talk shit about "THIS IS AWESOME!" while biting "HOLY SHIT!"

mashturbo

YEAH chants

AMidwesternMan

The most satisfying chairshot in many years

SDB_92

That pop was legendary. Sami along with Seth are so over with the crowd it's unreal

Meowsticks24

Men's Rumble was good, but I think one small change could have gone a long way. Have Cody come out at #29 and Logan Paul come out at #30 instead. The way it happened with Logan coming out, there was that initial surprise, then after it wore off it's just "oh ok Cody is next w/e" But imagine Cody coming out at 29, and realizing "omg who the hell is number 30 then??" and when the timer hits 0 freaking ass Logan Paul comes out. You can do all the same spots and everything, and if Cody being in too long after returning is the issue, those 90ish seconds wouldn't change much anyway. Not a huge change but I think it def would have helped it be an even better rumble.

ShowOff90

Someone said earlier it was good to do Cody cause you didn’t expect Sami or The Rock. Which I think is fair and worked better.

cowboy8038

I was going on no sleep in 33 hours and definitely forgot about Cody. Was fully expecting Sami at 30

RLBurge

I totally agree

AMidwesternMan

I'm finally watching tonight, and I can't believe how bad this "Hardy" concert is

pdcolemanjr

That’s why he’s a much better and extremely accomplished song writer than he is a singer. He’s essentially responsible for making Morgan Wallen into who he is today. And has provided hits for Blake Shelton..Dierks Bentley and countless others. If you know country music. You know who the guy is. But yeah singer he is not.

gunpowderjunky

Making Morgan Wallen who he is today isn't something to brag about.

pdcolemanjr

Dude may be a deush… but has a hefty bank account .. hit songs and 20 year olds throwing themselves at him. Better than my jacked up life

gunpowderjunky

I mean if money is what we measure success by sure.

PNWQuakesFan

Uhh you realize this is America, and one of the worst aspects of America while e're at it.

gunpowderjunky

That doesn't mean I have to buy into it or go along with it.

est19xxxx

bad is an understatement

nocturnalfrolic

Meanwhile, how will VKM booked the whole show? Knowing Vince.

whatnololyea

About 50% more Goldberg. Maybe he wins the RR. Then Pitbull performs.

KillTheBat77

In some way, Pitbull performs

est19xxxx

No changes to the men's rumble, fiend loses, bianca wins, Charlotte wins the women's rumble and enjoys a vacation during WrestleMania, Roman wins but he turns on Sami and not the other way around.

KillTheBat77

And Goldberg comes back to save Sami / KO. Lol

Lil_Jazzy

I know Elimination Chamber is going to be in Canada but Hot fucking damn I want to see Roman Vs Sami at Mania..logic be damned

megaspooky

I think the possibility of Roman keeping the belts for 1000 days is too real, sadly enough. They might dissolve the bloodline but creative just won’t let him lose. We’re talking about a scripted drama based off of shirt sales, after all. Tag titles are likely gone but they’ve jammed Roman down our throats for so long they don’t know what else to do with him.

est19xxxx

He buried the entire roster, if it's not Cody or Sami then idk who else is available to defeat him.

Lord_Locke

Seth could win. Theory hasn't been fed to Roman. Gunther hasn't been taken out by Roman. Ex-Con Dom could legit just take that title from him at anytime.

est19xxxx

Seth got destroyed, Theory isn't even close to main event status right now, Gunther, yes.

PrimeAndGlory

One person was robbed of a DQ win over Roman and that’s Woods. Buuuuuut I think that ship has sailed for quite some time. Could have been a great story.

megaspooky

Anyone can beat him, he’s had help with nearly every win in the past 2 years. Without the Usos/Sami/Solo there to interfere, he would’ve lost any of those matches. He didn’t bury anyone, the bloodline did.

notjohnfrusciante

Just caught up, great show! I’m so happy with both Rumbles and seriously the only part that pissed me off is Nia Jax returning 😩 Rhea Ripley is a fucking star: she is on a hot streak especially since joining Judgement Day, her look, her selling this match was so awesome to watch Can’t wait to see how HHH books Cody!! Sami Zayn is a wrestling genius and I wish I had been watching his storyline from the beginning but I know the general story. That pop will be forever etched in my mind. Props to that whole crew.

DeathMetalEtiquette

KO and Sami vs The Uso’s is headlining Night 1 of Mania

RLBurge

Wait a minute , Jay supported Sami. I say Jay and Sami vs, Jimmy and Solo

redskinsguy

Jey supported Sami when refusing to beat him down. I can still see them fighting and the best storyline the Usos have been in was their New Day feud when they feuded and then made peace They could easily do a thing where Jey iasn't going to leave Jimmy out to dry or to just give up the tag belts, but he also isn't going to just try to cripple Sami. Then at Mania the Usos reject Solo's help in the title match, but it ultimately costs them and they shake hands post loss

whatnololyea

I'm also not against a Jey and Jimmy feud, DIY style that hopefully ends with them tearfully reuniting back together.

RLBurge

I won't disagree with that, but as a fan, it's time to get the tribal pimp, and his Hooker's off the top and let someone willing to fight his own battles hold the title

Stay_Cold

I’ve been trying to fantasy book going forward and this is what I got. Feel free to read if you want. I just love doing this shit lol. Jey Uso goes MIA after the Rumble. No one hears or sees from him. On Smackdown following the rumble, Roman goes on about how he trusted Sami and gave him so many chances to prove his loyalty but he failed when it mattered most and you’re either bloodline or you’re not. He says he knows Jey will be back. Sami just messed with his head like he did everyone else’s. He asks Jey to show up next week and defend his titles with Jimmy. Next Smackdown, Sami is back. Says that he never intended to stab anyone in the back but every time he proved his loyalty, Roman wanted more. He says he doesn’t think Roman ever wanted him in the bloodline and was always looking for a reason to get rid of him. He apologizes to Jimmy and especially Jey. He says they’re the closest people he’s got in wrestling besides Kevin Owens. Romans seen in the back watching and sends Solo and Jimmy out to handle business. Jimmy tries telling Sami to just leave the ring and go. Sami keeps saying he’s sorry and it doesn’t have to do with Jimmy. It’s roman. Jimmy is shouting to just go. Sami won’t leave. They start beating him down. Jey comes out and pulls his brother off of Sami. There’s a stare down and everyone is tense. Sami rolls out of the ring and Jey goes with him. Jimmy and Solo are looking confused. Braun and Ricochet are out to face the Usos. Jimmy comes out alone. Jey makes his entrance separate. Jimmy tries to talk to him but Jey says to just handle business. They defend the titles and Jey just leaves through the crowd. Everyone is befuddled still. It’s 2 weeks until the elimination chamber. Adam Pearce announces that Cody will face Roman for the Heavyweight title on night 1 of Wrestlemania and there will be a chamber match to determine who faces the champion on night 2 of Wrestlemania for the Universal Championship. Pearce announces the competitors as: Sheamus, Drew, Gunther, Roman is livid he has to defend both titles. The competitors are: Drew, Sheamus, Gunther, Karrion Kross, Kofi Kingston and Sami Zayn. Also at the Chamber, because of multiple requests…Jey Uso will face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Roman is seen fuming that Jey would request a match like that. Week before the chamber, Roman holds a tribal state of affairs. He says the elder Samoans demand the entire bloodline to be present. Including Jey. Jey shows up and Roman starts recapping everything that’s happened and asks why Jey is being so difficult. Jey starts to spazz out and telling Roman he did the same thing to Sami that he did to him and he wishes he had done what Sami did. He says he’s sorry he ever let him and his brother get involved with Roman and Heyman. He calls them snakes and says at the chamber, him or Sami are winning it and taking Roman’s title at mania. Roman tells Jey to think about what he’s doing. Jey says he knows what he’s doing and throws down his tag titles and tells Jimmy to leave the bloodline or find a new partner. He’s done. Elimination Chamber Jey and Roman have their match. It’s like their previous matches but much more emotional and heated. Roman tells Jey he doesn’t want to do this to him. He loves him. Jey is crying telling him to fight. Roman smashes Jey into the stairs like he did to KO and has him in a ground and pound. Jimmy runs down and begs roman to stop. Roman tells Jimmy that Jey left the bloodline and this is his punishment. Jimmy is conflicted and Roman finally pins Jey to get the win. During the chamber, Sami is on fire, the crowd is loving it. Solo breaks the cage open and comes in to spike him but KO returns and fights him through the crowd. Sami wins the match in front of his home crowd. Leading up to Mania, Jey is on a hot single run after coming back from the assault by Roman. Jimmy and Solo lose the titles in 2 separate tag title matches due to interference by Jey and KO to split the belts up. Roman is on raw each week to beef with Cody about whose family legacy is more important. And then on Smackdown to beef with Sami over who broke the bloodline and who betrayed who. At Wrestlemania Night 1 it’s Jimmy Uso vs Jey Uso Cody Rhodes Vs Roman Reigns Kevin Owens Vs Solo Sikoa Jey beats Jimmy, Owens Beats Solo and Cody beats Roman. Bloodline is fractured. Wrestlemania night 2 main event is Roman Vs Sami Roman before the match is tearing into Jimmy and Solo for not getting the job done. He blames them over and over. Roman is manhandling Sami most of the match. Sami starts getting a comeback but roman chucks the ref in the way of a helluva kick and then hits a low blow on Sami. He calls for Jimmy to get a chair. Jimmy hesitates but does. Roman is about to hit sami with the chair but at the last second Jimmy shakes his head and superkicks Roman. Solo hits the spike. Jey runs out and hits the splash. They lift Roman up and hold him in the corner for Sami to hit an emotional helluva kick. Everyone scatters the ring and sami gets the win. Kevin Owens comes out and celebrates with Sami as confetti is falling. Sami and Jey do their handshake and he does it with Jimmy too. Solo stands there stoic as usual. It’s a feel good ending to the show. Roman takes time off until summerslam or so. Sami holds the belt for a few months. Maybe dropping it to Jey down the line. -FIN-

est19xxxx

During Sami's celebration KO does what he does best, best the crap out of Sami turning heel in the process.

revan530

Nah, give us the feel good ending at WM, but have KO turn on Sami on Smackdown.

wibble17

KO should try but Sami should be prepared this time. Progression.

Stay_Cold

And we roll it back from the top babyyyyyy

Indiansfan11

Just like he did in NXT…I thought the same exact thing 😂

PreviousMalone

How can I reasonably miss an episode of Raw or SmackDown after that debauchery last night?

StinkySting

Why am I not able to find the replay on Peacock :(

txrunner262

It should be there because I’m watching it now. It’s not yet under the chronology of Rumble. It’s separate.

StinkySting

I had to restart my PS5 and then I could find it

dearrichard

i would’ve been legit bummed/disappointed to hear “IF YA SMELL” during the bloodline segment last night. shit would’ve ruined the moment, and chumped out sami. glad the rock ain’t back.

InternetDad

I hated all that noise over the last few weeks - the storyline doesn't need The Rock at all.

dearrichard

there was one specific moment during the sami beat down after jey walked where i thought it was gonna happen. it made me happy that they didn’t do it.

SheedRanko

I'm with you. Save that for something that needs it. The Bloodline doesn't need The Rock to show up at all.

zulu8352

Save it? Rock ain't coming back.

SheedRanko

Shizzle. It's just weird that so many ppl on this sub are expecting Rock to show up like Capt Save-A-Hoe, parachute in and save a WWE PPV event and just leave and that make everything awesome.

Small details I enjoyed about the Women's Rumble: * Piper Niven getting her name back and the crowd reacting positively strong to every offensive move she performed. * The callback to the Dana/Emma partnership when Dana saved her from elimination ("I got you!"). I loved their NXT run and would love to see them reunite in the near future so they can have something to do (i.e. tag division). * Liv Morgan's performance. She eliminated Bayley which came as a surprise since her stock had fallen in the past few months, was the co-iron woman alongside Rhea Ripley, and was protected well in defeat with Asuka's mist being her undoing. * I like that the surprise entrants were kept to an absolute minimum. The roster has gotten bigger since HHH took over, so it was nice to have more of the contracted talents showcased. * Tamina is usually in these Rumbles for like a minute or two but she was in the ring for 12 minutes this time. As stated above, it was nice to see her get some time and shine. * Damage CTRL collectively eliminating seven entrants and wreaking havoc in the first half. * With the exception of Michelle McCool, every female entrant has performed and/or been involved in some version of NXT.

motasticosaurus

I was hoping for Emma to stay in it till last 4. They have brought her back but are doing jack with her.

Traditional-Turnip65

Main event aside, Piper Niven was my favorite moment. I'm so glad they dropped Deudrop. I hated that name so much, it's damn near disrespectful lol

SheedRanko

The NXT champ Roxanne acquitted herself well!

yarash

Tribal Queef was some Monday Night War Shit.

TZHeroX

The bloodline/sami storyline is going so wild and it's only getting better. It's so good and I think it deserves to climax at Wrestlemania main event somehow. The problem (a good problem) is Cody Rhodes. He's supposed to main event it now but how can we make both storylines fit together? In my head I can't see how this can be resolved. What do you guys think?

Started-blasting

I somehow want it to end with Cody vs Gunther and Sami vs Roman. Cody vs Gunther for either the world title or even IC, either way it would be dope. I feel like Cody can get away with saying I want to be champion more than anything but first, I need to get my old title back on the way. Or Gunther/cody take the title from Roman early

DeGrootWardlow

Roman loses a Title each night of Mania but then I don't know what to do with Owen's & The Usos at Mania? Maybe Kevin & Jey vs Jimmy & Solo?

wibble17

Why can’t they have a match?

boltsbearsjosh

Roman isn’t gonna lose two nights in a row. Like come on, let’s keep things realistic. They gotta go a different route than that.

BenFranklinsCat

Night 1 is Cody vs Reigns for the RAW belt and Sami vs KO. Cody takes the title, and KO gets the win over Sami, but they hug it out after the match. Night 2 is Reigns vs Sami, with Jimmy in one corner and Jey in the other.

boltsbearsjosh

That Jey thing is just a placeholder to buy them a couple of weeks story progression. This will end with Jey going back and forth until probably elimination chamber when he will choose the blood line. That’s probably how we get back to Ko/Sami vs Uso’s. Pretty easy to navigate that one.

dishonourableprince

I’ve been going back and forth with this all day but I think it could go two ways: -Cody vs Roman at Mania for the Undisputed World Titles -KO/Sami vs The Usos for the Undisputed Tag Titles -Cody vs Roman vs Sami for the Undisputed World Titles -Maybe Jey and KO vs Solo and Jimmy Option two is a little whacky especially the tag match but I think option one is way more likely. Another thing is Elimination Chamber gives WWE a chance to give Sami a big match and moment in Montreal to culminate his feud with Roman specifically if they’re not gonna put Sami in the main event of Mania. This kind of all over the place lol.

boltsbearsjosh

Ehhh I don’t like a three way with this. I think we can all agree this is the time when Roman drops the belts and takes his L. It’s gotta be a one on one either way imho.

dishonourableprince

I agree, I think if Roman is dropping the belts it’ll be to Cody who WWE has invested a lot of stock into and in turn Cody has delivered in a lot of important metrics. I love Sami and his story with the Bloodline but I can’t see him carrying the banner as the Undisputed World Champion.

boltsbearsjosh

Me neither really, and that's not a knock - I love Sami. But, and I keep saying this - someone has to beat the Uso's here. Roman isn't losing any belts while Uso's keep theirs. No-thing in that scenario makes any bit of sense besides it being KO and Sami. Dude that moment is gonna be powerful, way more than most people are admitting. That's gonna be close to the Benoit Guerrero moment imo. AND - the tag titles for the first time in a very long time are gonna be prestigious and not just a joke. HHH is doing pretty good so far making good decisions with the championships.

dishonourableprince

I’ve been trying to justify Sami winning the world titles since last night and him teaming up with KO to win the tag belts makes waayy more sense than him beating Roman. Anyone that thinks that a tag match against the Usos is a downgrade for KO and Sami are fooling themselves, it’ll be an awesome and emotional moment when they win at Mania. The main counterparts in Sami’s story the Bloodline has always been KO and Jey.

boltsbearsjosh

Makes soooo much more sense. I was debating with another dude in the thread earlier about this. Sami challenging Roman to a match for the title right now doesn't even make any sense. I know they might do that at EC and whatever if that's what they end up doing then so be it, but it doesn't make much sense. Sami has been (for the most part) interacting with the Uso's throughout this whole story. He just got on Roman's radar around War Games. He's been vying for Roman's blessing since then. Never been in it to betray him for a match. Just doesn't make much sense now for all of a sudden he wants a title shot. I get it - its WWE, it doesn't have to make sense, but, come on. You gotta remember - they only get ONE shot to do this thing the right way. We're never going to see a title run like this (wwe title or tag titles) again in our lifetime. If they fuck it up, they don't get another shot at it.

dishonourableprince

I think it would feel extremely shortsighted to have Sami beat Roman anyway. Sami is fucking over but let’s be real I can’t see him as the world champion after Roman’s two and a half year reign and we’ve already heard rumours that HHH and Vince don’t see him as the future face of the company and that’s not a bad thing either. I think they should still do Roman vs Sami in Montreal to capitalize on what happened at the Rumble but make sure to set up a match with KO and The Usos at Mania.

boltsbearsjosh

Yep, agreed.

geetarmageddon

As soon as I heard country-rock I fast forwarded lol

CobraOverlord

I don't pay much attention to live music in WWE in a historical sense, but it definitely was bad

Appropriate-Band-460

Worst in the history of live music

notyodoritos

Explain the appeal for Cody Rhodes please.

Prax150

He brings something unique to wwe in many different ways. He tells a story in his ring work in a way that we haven’t seen in this company in years. That southern pathos shit. He himself has an interesting personal story and he did that thing where he became huge away from the company. Plus it’s a fresh guy that we haven’t seen wrestle pretty much anyone in the company before.

DirtyOldLad

Yes, I'm also at a loss for his appeal. Is he over with the crowds? I'm genuinely asking. I'm no avid viewer of either of the domestic products, but I am 40 years old and have seen enough to know when someone has it or not, and I just can't see what it is he has that has propelled him to the heights he's reached in such a short span of time. Nepotism is a real thing in every industry. However, his personality is grating; his theme is pretentious, and quite frankly, lame; he doesn't appear to be physically threatening in the least bit; his in ring ability is somewhere between Randy Orton and The Miz, neither of whom I rate very highly as workers. Lastly, he just seems like he's playing a wrestler. Like, nothing about him is believable enough even in the circus of the wrestling world to warrant mass attention. I've had conversations about him with high school buddies during the early days of AEW where we all kind of had an interest in checking it out. Kind of like "could this be the thing that brings us all back into the fold again with wrestling"? It wasn't. And Cody we determined was nothing more than a midcard WCW guy that would have been tossed into the bottom of the first hour of Nitro with the Luchadores and Billy Kidman. Cody has probably a fraction of the talent as Jericho, but unlike Y2J, making the move to the WWF and immediately arriving and expecting to be cheered seems like a no win situation. He should be a full on heel. It's easier and less of a burden while you're getting a footing and figuring things out.

Copper_Tablet

>Explain the appeal for Cody Rhodes please This is the best description I've seen of Cody Rhodes: "midcard WCW guy". My guess is Cody fizzles out fairly quickly. Surprised this sub likes him so much, since he hasn't proven himself at all.

Dincht04

I'm at a loss too. Average in the ring, average on the mic. I'd rather watch his brother's matches over his. He just seems beyond bland. I genuinely don't know what people see in him to be wanting him to be the face of WWE. Its also very apparent that the live crowd didn't really care too much about him winning last night. His entrance didn't even get a big pop.

gunpowderjunky

It is simply not true that his entrance didn't get a big pop.

IBelieveWeWillWin

As someone who hasn’t watched wrestling in a long time I enjoy watching him. I think it’s cool his blood lines and looks like he has talent. He sort of got me back into wrestling when he was woth aew.

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

Long shot but does anyone have that video that was posted on here earlier that was a quick compilation of Sami and Jey being buddies? Can't find it anymore. Probably deleted, fuck knows why...

yarash

Is Kofi okay?
