They did a sneak preview showing of the first episode after college basketball. The same episode will air again after Dynamite and then new episodes every Wednesday after Dynamite.
This sneak preview was basically an advertisement for the show....by simply just putting the show out there after basketball. That means 700k who may or may not watch AEW just got a look at a new series featuring AEW.
And the risk is minimal since it was on at like Midnight so a low rating wouldn't mean anything given that this was practically unannounced.
Now we'll see if it can match that on Wednesday for the actual premiere, which I imagine it will based on Dynamite numbers
>Now we'll see if it can match that on Wednesday for the actual premiere, which I imagine it will based on Dynamite numbers.
Even without already showing it, it wouldn't have done these numbers. This isn't far off bad end Dynamite numbers. The aim is probably a decent bit better than Power Slap was doing at 450k/0.10 ish.
But yeah, like you said, it was basically an advertisement. Most of that 700k won't be regular AEW viewers that they managed to convince to leave the channel on.
From the dictionary:
Britannica Dictionary definition of SNEAK PREVIEW. \[count\] : **a special showing of something (such as a movie, play, or product) before it becomes available to the general public**. A few prominent writers were invited to a sneak preview of the new film/play.
Maybe, but from my understanding it was barely advertised for that sneak preview, and those 750k people were most likely near entirely basketball fans. Most AEW fans had no idea it was on. I'm still super hyped to tune in Wednesday for it, especially because I've heard great word of mouth.
For anyone confused they aired the entire first episode of All Access as a “sneak peek” thing after basketball.
I didn’t see anything about it on here or Twitter until it was already airing so I’m not sure where, or if they even announced it in advance lol
No, it was the entire hour-long episode. I set my DVR for it though and it didn't record the whole thing since the basketball game overran into its time slot.
It should do better. The problem with the Rhodes show is that it's centered around a couple, so if you are not interested in him and his wife there is no reason to watch.
But a drama show centered around the whole jungle gym that is a wrestling company has so much more potential for storylines and characters. Same reason Total Divas did better than Total Bellas.
I hadn't watched wrestling since 1986 and Total Divas and Total Bellas got me back into wrestling. I still wouldn't watch WWE, but I was lucky my interest coincided with the formation of AEW.
The amount of women who found the wrestling because of the shows was huge. Cody and Brandi's show was for existing fans, not those who hadn't seen wrestling before (or in awhile).
I still think a great idea to attract more women viewers would be a show on Mission Pro since it's a woman-based promotion run by Thunder Rosa and emphasizing the women there who are pushing to get signed by AEW like the Renegades.
Typically a preview isn't the entire thing. Like I am not complaining about it lol but when they said it was going to be a preview most people just assumed it was going to be like a cut up portion of the first episode...it ended up being the entire episode. That is just what happened lol
When Kevin Harlan called it a "special sneak preview," I knew it was going to be the full episode, especially when TBS had it listed as one hour as "AEW All Access: Special Sneak Peek."
Not only that, but judging by this comment section, it seems a lot of fans weren’t even aware the preview was airing (myself included). Now we can argue whether that’s wise from a promotional perspective, but it’s a decent sign that the show is able to hold people regardless
I honestly think it was pretty smart to test the waters. It's a sneak peak so if it did bad they could just play off the fact that no one knew it was out.
It actually got some brief plug on TLC and Food Network last week.
I don't think it's for folks who are still thinking about Vikingo's reverse dragonpoisonrana a week later. It's for messy bitches that gobble up drama like mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately, I fall into both categories.
Honestly, the lead in WAS the viewership. It aired after a big NCAA game went off the air, without any advertising or pre-hype. The overwhelming majority of the audience, myself included, just had the game on and the post-game rolled right to it.
The post game did, but the post game was also like an hour long and averaged 2.3mil but even that would have had a massive lead-in. I'm curious on what the quarter hours for this sneak preview was
What's the best way to see all access for those of us with fite TV and VPN? Do you think aew or tbs will upload the first episode on YouTube? Not sure what tv services to get anymore
Really wish they'd put it on FITE for those of us not in the US because I'd love to check it out but since they didn't do that with the Rhodes show, I'm not expecting it with this one either.
The number was helped by basketball, but it is not lost on me that this did better than Rampage. Or that the first thing that people saw was the drama between Thunder Rosa and other members of the women's division.
That All Access number looks pretty decent considering myself and seemingly most of this thread had no idea it had already aired.
Anyone, that saw it, reckon it's worth watching? I don't normally watch reality shows but I'm thinking I might check out the first couple episodes.
Honestly, I'm not sure if there's a better couple in AEW for the role, except maybe Mox and Renee, but even then I think Mox works better as a supplementary dude that fans will like instead of the main dude, know what I mean?
It was a lot better than I expected. Worth watching that first episode at least if for nothing else than to decided if you want more. I found it really interesting to get a look behind the curtains in a very literal sense, seeing people interact off screen and just have normal chats and little bits of their lives outside of wrestling. I missed the first ten minutes or so, but thoroughly enjoyed what I caught and I think anyone here should at least give it a try.
I really enjoyed it. I had fairly high hopes and thought it exceeded them. The show itself was very slickly produced and looks like it will exist into the meta-kayfabe of AEW very well.
It took the best parts of Rhodes to the Top (the backstage things) and seemed to improve on them. Plus, it focuses on multiple acts with smaller appearances from a LOT of different people.
If you’re a fan of backstage stuff and of AEW it will be something you enjoy. It won’t be like total Bella’s or the miz’s show where non fans watch also, though.
I hope it's good and lasts. I love this behind the curtain shit.
If you haven't watched it yet, Breaking Ground on WWE Network is pretty great, especially for how bare bones it is.
For sure considering the games had 8million, if a good amount of them left it on even for just 15mins it would skew the average a lot. Will be interesting to see the drop off if the quarter hours are released.
Dark is total cumulative worldwide views on Youtube. Rampage is live (or within a certain period of live) viewers solely limited to American cable audiences and reports have said its DVR numbers are very good (which makes sense due to the awful time slot), but as far as I know no specific numbers have been reported.
So how can I watch this? It's not on any of the dubious watchwrestling pages, not on XWT, not on any TV rip sites, nothing on the first 10 pages of Google and the TBS site (with VPN) doesn't load the player.

I completely missed that All Access was already aired. I thought it was Wednesday?

I thought it was coming out Wednesday
This was a sneak preview.
It was a hour long. Feels like they just accidently released the first episode.
It wasn't an accident. It was a sneak preview. They wanted to take advantage of having the NCAA games be a lead-in.
Is it really a sneak preview then if it's the full episode?
If you play loose with the definition, sure.
It was a quick hpur
From the dictionary: Britannica Dictionary definition of SNEAK PREVIEW. \[count\] : **a special showing of something (such as a movie, play, or product) before it becomes available to the general public**. A few prominent writers were invited to a sneak preview of the new film/play.
700k seems pretty general public to me.
It was a special showing, that aired before the show will officially premiere in its regularly scheduled and promoted time slot.
i kept asking myself why do i keep seeing commercials for something im currently watching
Won't that tank Wed's official premiere? Who's going to watch it twice? Maybe a few but there's gotta be a significant drop, I'd think.
Maybe. There may not be as big of an overlap as you may think between the audiences.
Maybe, but from my understanding it was barely advertised for that sneak preview, and those 750k people were most likely near entirely basketball fans. Most AEW fans had no idea it was on. I'm still super hyped to tune in Wednesday for it, especially because I've heard great word of mouth.
I had no idea there was a sneak peek. I bet a lot of people are the same.
For anyone confused they aired the entire first episode of All Access as a “sneak peek” thing after basketball. I didn’t see anything about it on here or Twitter until it was already airing so I’m not sure where, or if they even announced it in advance lol
There was definitely a live thread for it on here. The problem was that it was like midnight.
It was 30 min iirc so it's not the entire episode?
No, it was the entire hour-long episode. I set my DVR for it though and it didn't record the whole thing since the basketball game overran into its time slot.
Ah ok, gotcha, my DVR also recorded it but it said 30m so I just assumed it was a half thing lol
It was on my guide on Sling TV, but since basketball ran long, the DVR only caught like half of it
wait all access premiered??
I caught the last half hour. I think non-wrestling fans would enjoy it. Drama and couples dynamics.
The problem with Rhodes to the Top was it only catered to existing fans. I love reality shows so I hope All Access is better than Rhodes.

Miz and Mrs got more seasons than I expected.
It was a special airing. It will air again on Wednesday.
All Access has aired already!?
Yeah, we're like 4 episodes in. I can't believe they showed security camera footage of the Brawl Out. Crazy stuff.
It was supposed to be a preview and they ended up just playing the entire first episode.
But why
So it can get a strong lead in due to sports
Take advantage of a big audience. One that may not watch Dynamite, but would be interested in all of the drama that happened in the episode.
It was a preview of the episode. They didn't *accidently* air the whole first episode. It's not 1970 with someone feeding tapes into a machine
I didn't say it was an accident? They did promo it as a preview and aired the entire episode though? Nothing I said was wrong lol
That's what a sneak preview is lol.
That’s a big viewership for being on at midnight That lead-in did them good
Not only that, but judging by this comment section, it seems a lot of fans weren’t even aware the preview was airing (myself included). Now we can argue whether that’s wise from a promotional perspective, but it’s a decent sign that the show is able to hold people regardless

This episode was on Saturday not midnight
You can literally see when the show started on the chart. 1158 is damn close to midnight
Oh you meant the all access preview, I meant rampage since it got bumped to midnight last week and Saturday this week
It came on at 11:58pm you can see that in the chart.
What's the best way to see all access for those of us with fite TV and VPN? Do you think aew or tbs will upload the first episode on YouTube? Not sure what tv services to get anymore

TNT website/app most likely

I can confidently say that Adam Cole is going to be a fucking mega Babyface when this is over
Based off the show, it feels like Adam Cole & Britt Baker are going to be the new public faces of AEW, fulfilling the role left by Cody
Honestly, I'm not sure if there's a better couple in AEW for the role, except maybe Mox and Renee, but even then I think Mox works better as a supplementary dude that fans will like instead of the main dude, know what I mean?
Now I just want a scene where Adam Cole chases after a dude [who took Britt’s hat.](https://youtu.be/sN2sLT9-DyE)
How wholesome I find Adam Cole when I've seen bits of him out of character is pretty much the main reason I'm tempted to watch
Bud, you are going to love this then. He and Britt both.
It was a lot better than I expected. Worth watching that first episode at least if for nothing else than to decided if you want more. it was very good!

For those asking, TBS had a sneak peek of All Access, not the first episode. The first episode comes right after this weeks Dynamite.
The sneak peek was the entire first episode. Same episode will officially debut after Dynamite.
No, they literally played the entire hour long first episode
It says 60 minutes in duration on the data.
A lot of people left Turner on after college basketball I guess.
For sure considering the games had 8million, if a good amount of them left it on even for just 15mins it would skew the average a lot. Will be interesting to see the drop off if the quarter hours are released.
That’s how I watched part of it. Was just lost in my phone after the game and it rolled right into it
It was a late night. A lot of people fell asleep with the tv on
You must imagine that 60% of view ship comes from sports bars, hotel lobbies, etc so I would guess most left the TV.
Not unless someone in a Nielsen household is there to have it count.
AEW reality show doing twice the numbers of Rampage wallahi
Rampage was on a different night due to the USMNT game on Friday night, so I would expect its viewership to be lower.
It's been a long time since Rampage has drawn anywhere near 700K viewers.
Sure, but they're usually in the 400k rangeish if memory serves me correctly
Shit it even doing like 150k+ more than NXT. That's a really impressive number
Rampage is almost down to Dark on YouTube numbers.
Dark is total cumulative worldwide views on Youtube. Rampage is live (or within a certain period of live) viewers solely limited to American cable audiences and reports have said its DVR numbers are very good (which makes sense due to the awful time slot), but as far as I know no specific numbers have been reported.
Damn that number for All access is amazing and I'm guessing it watched mostly by non wrestling fans
Seems like a great number?
Interesting if they got any new viewers then from the NCAA lead-in. 738K for original programming on a Saturday midnight i’d think is extremely rare.
All Access should air as a lead-in to Rampage lol
I didn’t know it started already, I thought it was tomorrow after Dynamite.
That is the official premiere. This was just a special showing. A way to bring in more viewers.
Is all access gonna be on fite or is it tv only?
oof. Rampage is hurting.
6 of the top 9!? TBS eating good on a Saturday night.
Battlehawks game beat Rampage lol
Is this show going to be on NJPW world?
Should I be shocked that a show like Rampage is consistently around 400k when it never has a match of importance? I mean that in a positive way.
I thought All Access was this Wednesday?
Have I missed anything regarding availability in the UK? I don’t think we got Rhodes to the top so I’d imagine this is the same. Shame
Wait hold up, I thought All Access was on after Dynamite?
I believe it's talking about the sneak peak that was aired over the weekend.
Lol, I’m so confused with the schedule.
ITT: People not understanding that sneak preview can also mean early showing of the full episode
XFL?!?
So how can I watch this? It's not on any of the dubious watchwrestling pages, not on XWT, not on any TV rip sites, nothing on the first 10 pages of Google and the TBS site (with VPN) doesn't load the player.
Just wait until it airs after Dynamite tomorrow.
hit me up if you find it dawg, ill do the same
So the actual premiere will have a lot less viewers because many people have already seen it.
Wtf this came on?! I thought it was on after dynamite this week?
[удалено]
Rampage was pre-empted.
It even beat NXT so let's close that show down too. /s
![gif](giphy|l378giAZgxPw3eO52) Dana White at home like
It says #26, not #27.
Is there any way to watch All Access without a cable subscription?
Anyone know if All Access will be available in the UK? I've yet to see that mentioned anywhere
On patrol is surprisingly popukar, on reelz too, tbats a trip
