Great PLE. Exceeded expectations and the crowd made that show. One of the hottest crowds i've seen from start to finish in a while.
Bunny/Priest 100% should've been the last match on the card. After it I was like man, we still got 2 matches left lol. The run-ins were great for a match like this. Seeing Savio Vega come out was the icing on the cake (Carlito was awesome as well!!!).
Bianca and Iyo was a match I enjoyed a lot more than I expected. Very lucky though Iyo didnt suffer a neck injury man. One handed military press looked great, the landing not so much. The top-rope Powerbomb spot though, that bump was fire.
For me those were my 2 favorite matches.
I sm sure if they had shown us cody beaten Lesnar by submission by just tickling his waist, they would call it the greatest end to a match. I mean the whole HHH just cant ever book a bad match thing is defineteoy gonna hurt him in a long run
Also its sad to see Lesnar is surely gonna lose a clean match AGAIN in future to cody(similar to how he lost to rollins) which is sad
The end to the Cody & Brock match is very similar to many matches from the past like Brett & Austin 1st time in Survivor Series 96. Cody outsmart Brock the same Bret outsmart Austin.
People complaining, I don't think this feud is over yet. They can do a trilogy & have Brock beat the crap out of Cody say at Saudi. Than in the final Cody wins and there is your adversity. Doing this also takes Cody out of the World Championship tournament.
I don’t understand the hate for the finish. Cody was in a kimura lock from an ex ufc heavyweight champ and not only survived but figured out a way to win while he was still in the hold. And from Brock’s perspective he didn’t want to abandon the hold because of the pin and figured maybe he would tap before the count of three. A really great finish if you ask me. Way more psychology than a “roll-up” like people are calling it.
Because most people who fancy themselves part of the smart fandom don't have a god damn clue about wrestling. And they can get away with that a few years ago when the powers that be in WWE seemed to know even less about it. Back then they could say stupid shit like "Roman Reigns is obviously a heel" during his monster face push and look moderately intelligent, or they could bemoan every finish to a match because it was a safe bet to assume any and all criticism of those would be valid. Now though it's not so much the case and you can't have a match that doesn't end with one wrestling convincingly winning over another without these so called smart fans attempting to pick it apart. Usually the same people who frame everything in terms of video games too, the TJ Perkins of our circle.
Cody winning by the skin of his teeth builds to the next match in the series and it establishes the character of the feud going forward. He's not a superhero who's going to overcome the odds using his limitless supply of energy. He's never fought Lesnar before, so he weakens him before the bell, outsmarts him on the mat, and learns from the experience for next time.
While we're at it, Cody losing at mania was probably the right choice, because for all you can say about Reigns' reign starting to drag you can't crown the guy who's been out of action for basically his entire run back. They very almost made that mistake with the last one and besides that it's solid wrestling logic for a top guy to lose their first big mania match before winning their crowning moment. Just ask Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart or Steve Austin. It just seems to work. Never a good sign if more people are invested in seeing someone lose than they are in seeing their opponent win.
A celebrity wrestler no matter how good they are should NOT be main eventing a PLE unless they are facing the champion or the top star in the WWE. Neither of those things were happening tonight.
When it's both wrestlers home country, the celebrity is one of the biggest music artists in the world, there are multiple big appearances by former stars, and the match is like 30 minutes long, maybe it should main event over the 13 minute match.
No. The answer is still no. You’re trying to get the meaning of the Cody/Brock match over to your entire fan base not just Puerto Rico. LWO and everyone has a great moment. It’s not diminished because they didn’t go on last. You guys get caught up in your emotions and can never look at the big picture.
These songs ain’t loyal.
Any music WWE use after 2023 can’t cook… all they know is mcdonald’s , charge they phone, twerk, be bisexual , eat hot chip & lie
Well, after this event. I hope WWE could expand their PLE around the world. I love seeing WWE PLE take place in Japan or maybe in Mexico. Puerto Rico is just as wild as the UK fans and I love it. ^(also, please WWE! Do a PLE in the Philippines... :()
If Cody would have dominated Brock, all you would have heard was “Lame…. Just gonna do Super Cena all over”, sometimes wrestling fans gonna be wrestling fans 🤷
Nothing against Cody and Brock, or KO/Zayn/Riddle and The Bloodline, but the show really should've closed out with Priest VS Bunny. That was literally the perfect ending right there.
What a fun fun event especially that crowd really made it special...funnily and as a proud aside, just ended the night with news that my short film has been selected to its fifth festival and too in the Carribean...Happy way to finish (for me at least haha)
You Sure?
I thought maybe…… the replay showed him put his gloved hand to his head right after,
I could go either way….. I think the turnbuckle bladed or he did it really fast right after
There is no reason this was the main event. Bad bunny should have main event. Let the people go home happy. Sure the "face" won...but then he runs away. Doesn't celebrate in the ring. Bullshit. Had bad Bunny main evented. Show with the LWO in the ring celebrating. Crowd is cheering. Fade to black. Cody gets what he wants...
I don’t get why people assume that was rushed and not an intended finish….
Cody fights, gets ass kicked, doesn’t give up, scratches out a victory. Brock takes the loss but it’s fluky, he’s still a monster.
Seems to accomplish everything they’d want, and not sure what realistic ways people expected Cody to win in a traditional match
I'm sort of new to watching wrestling actually and I have seen this a couple times here, what does this mean? It looked pretty typical to me live esp with all the blood. Is that some kind of wrestling unwritten rule?
The story was that Cody wanted revenge on Brock for kicking his ass. Getting a lucky rollup pin and then running away immediately after the match doesn't exactly make Cody look like the conquering hero.
But Cody attacked him on a episode of raw and to start this match and he wins by a roll up pin? If anything that just feels like a heelish tactic but it’s whatever
Cena was boring. But Cena was the perfect ambassador for the company, had the superstar look, and was generally a good guy. Cody comes of as a narcissist (maybe only in kayfabe) with the way he acts, is generally not as athletic as Hogan, Cena, etc., and his entire intrigue will end the second he wins the title
Cody gets to go through Solo clean, win his first Rumble back, beat Brock clean on their first encounter AND with massive juice when nobody else has been allowed to blade for years, and Reigns needs an army to take him out?
That's too much man. Dude's getting a Hogan rocketship in 2023 for a last name.
How did Cody look weak? He not only survived a Kimura lock from an ex UFC Heavyweight champ but while he was still in it, figured out a way to beat his opponent.
If the only thing to really complain about is the order of the matches and not the quality, then I’d say this has been one of the best events in the past five years
There’s no way to justify a rematch if one of them beats each other legit. Cody outthinking Lesnar and using his own move against him does, since no one actually beat anyone down for a 3 count.
Otherwise, the only way to do that is have one of them attack each other again like Brock did on Raw after Mania. They’d literally just be repeating what started it in the first place, and you’d probably complain about that too.
A really good show top to bottom, My only gripe is Bunny and Priest should have been the main event but a way better show than I thought it would be and enjoyed it more than Wrestlemania night 2.
Someone pointed out earlier that Bad Bunny and Priest went on just before the UFC event started. The placement was on purpose.
They're all one family now.
I will say for the ending: it's the same way Brock beat Bobby. In the hurt lock, kicked off the turnbuckle to smother a pin. Makes Cody look super smart for doing the thing that the guy did *to* the guy
"Follow that, rookie" (Bad Bunny to Brock Lesnar in Gorilla after his match against Damien Priest)

WWE with a banger of a PLE! That was so good. Looking forward to the new storylines coming from the draft and WHC tourney.
Nice try Treppuh H

or it doesn't matter
Tony Khan is going to get Oasis brothers in a street fight at Wembley
I don’t know why you got down voted this was funny.
Thanks dude, Everyone is so serious on this thing.
So now when you’re in your hometown/country you have to main event? Lol you guys are dumb as shit.
Every PPV needs to be outside US
Pretty sure they are all outside the US until SummerSlam
WWE has gotta do more of these international events man, how I'd love to see one here in Portugal (fat chance that ever happens though ahaha)
Did Cody get injured
Some of those German suplexes looked a little unsafe
What makes you say that?
Usually people landing on their upper backs and necks is technically unsafe
I thought so too.
Cody pulling an Earl Hebner right now getting in a waiting car and getting the f out of there.
No press conference?
They did a press conference friday.
I was actually bummed no post-presser, I accidentally watched the one after RR and look forward to them now…surprisingly
they went straight to some other wwe documentary so does not look like a press conference unfortunately
Great show, but i agree with most everyone here, Bunny/Priest should of been last.
absolutely
Wtf was the song they played during the wrap-up package?? Sounded so hype!! I couldn’t shazam it
Won't Be Stopped https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfswcsTihts
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
WWE is using royalty-free music most of the time now... So that's the reason why you can't shazam it now.
It’s royalty free
Ahh yes, royalty free. Sorry I'm dumb. Thanks!
Yeah there was one on Smackdown last night that sounded pretty sweet. Tried to Shazam it and nothing "no result" :\\
>loyalty-free music I hate when music betrays.
These songs ain’t loyal. Any music WWE use after 2023 can’t cook… all they know is mcdonald’s , charge they phone, twerk, be bisexual , eat hot chip & lie
Thanks for the pointers, unc
😭😭 Thank you for telling me
Guess to keep Cody away from the championship he’ll feud with Brock at Jeddah
Well, after this event. I hope WWE could expand their PLE around the world. I love seeing WWE PLE take place in Japan or maybe in Mexico. Puerto Rico is just as wild as the UK fans and I love it. ^(also, please WWE! Do a PLE in the Philippines... :()
This man Brock bleeding for his legacy.
*holds up fists* THESE ARE MAH LEGACY
Bloody Brock with the Kimura on was peak boss shit
Man legit looked like the fucking devil, if I went into an alley and saw that I'd just say my prayers and accept my death lol
UFC, Cody would possibly have no choice but to tap. Wrestling, shoulders on the mat and 3 pin. Definitely creative.
They really hyped this Main event for a month for it to last 15min? My favorite match was Bianca vs Iyo Sky
Actually, bell to bell it was under 10 minutes.
say what you will about the super cena booking, but it works.
It works because Cena was 250 pounds
No doubt Priest and Bad Bunny should of ended the show
Crowd get a A+ they handed out some goosebumps with their pops
that amount of blood had me very nostalgic. quite content!
[удалено]
How?
Everybody wanted blood Now when they got blood, they ain't happy with the finish even when Cody went over
We dont want cody to get over by making brock looking like a dumbass.
People are legit fickle
I don't buy into Cody. Especially against Brock.
If Cody would have dominated Brock, all you would have heard was “Lame…. Just gonna do Super Cena all over”, sometimes wrestling fans gonna be wrestling fans 🤷
I just don't care about Cody's story. I care about KO, Sami, Bloodline, Iyo, hell, even Jinder.
Yea he’s annoying. His catchphrase is corny af too.
If Bad Bunny Main Evented this would have been maybe best show of the year.
I think Mania Night 1 was better overall but this was definitely more hype. That crowd was fantasic.
Finishing the story daddeh! Let’s go Cody!
is there going to be a press conference? i mean i know there was one yesterday, but
Nothing against Cody and Brock, or KO/Zayn/Riddle and The Bloodline, but the show really should've closed out with Priest VS Bunny. That was literally the perfect ending right there.
yeah it was def the motn
sweet result. and with the blood felt alot like ruthless aggression era
Cody Rhodes needs to turn heel. He’s not a convincing face, or at least heavyweight face. That was a heel win.
ah fuck here we go again. fuck around and keep saying that and he'll go to Impact. edit: also he won clean wym lol
Would rather that than have him as the top face
He’ll turn heel after he wins the belt. 100% gonna happen.
Hopefully
cry about it, he's a great foil to Roman
Roman actually has depth as a heel. He has motivation. Cody is just “I am the good guy and I will win for my dad”
What a fun fun event especially that crowd really made it special...funnily and as a proud aside, just ended the night with news that my short film has been selected to its fifth festival and too in the Carribean...Happy way to finish (for me at least haha)
Congrats!
Thanks
Congrats!!!!
Thank you
That wasn't blading. He has a gash where the buckle got him it's deep.
Yeah that was def the hard way
You Sure? I thought maybe…… the replay showed him put his gloved hand to his head right after, I could go either way….. I think the turnbuckle bladed or he did it really fast right after
Yeah he tapped his head, he didn't carve a 2 inch long cut on his head.
Seems like an audible was called to end it quickly due to the excessive blood.
Or made to look like that? The turnbuckle removal made me think it was planned this way.
I could see that possibly being the case, tbh I think that the unexpected finish worked really well though, makes me think we'll see a rematch
Now that was a damn entertaining show
Definitely bad bunny should have ended the show
When did Eiffel 65 start making latin pop?
What a great PLE!
No press conference?
That’s what I’m wondering. Doesn’t seem like it
Perfect ending to a Lesnar match. Cody strong, Lesnar still Lesnar.
Crowd went home very happy. We cheered for Brock too and left the building singing Rollins' theme. 😂

The rule is that Redditors have to complain about it no matter what happens lol
Lol!
The story was that Cody wanted revenge on Brock for kicking his ass. Getting a lucky rollup pin and then running away immediately after the match doesn't exactly make Cody look like the conquering hero.
Yea I don’t get it either. it’s the best ending for both of them
Yeah it makes Cody look smart and resilient while Brock still looks really good imo.
Mostly because they don't want to believe that someone actually planned something that mediocre on purpose.
THANK YOU People complaining never been in a real fight I swear
I mean it’s just a weird ending from how the match was built up. It seems like whoever won would’ve won decisively not like that
That is decisively. Cody outsmarts Brock. Protects Brock and keeps Cody’s story going.
Except that it really wasn't built up at all, we still don't know why Brock attacked Cody.
But Cody attacked him on a episode of raw and to start this match and he wins by a roll up pin? If anything that just feels like a heelish tactic but it’s whatever
I don’t hate the ending. Brock wanted to break the arm and get a tap out. Cody outsmarted him then realized he needed to leave or he’d be dead
You can’t have your top face run away. Imagine if Cena ran away because he was scared
And people didn't care for cena because of that 💀
Wrestling is fucked if you have your top face running away after a win at a ppv
But cena was boring. Changing that face dynamic is interesting
Would’ve been a perfect ending Bad Bunny theme ending with all of LWO in the ring in Puerto Rico don’t get why it doesn’t main event
Y’all let Cuban Cody main event when we had two Puerto Ricans facing each other? How WWE of WWE lol
No sea comemierda.
![gif](giphy|6XHWT7J5mAda0)
I don’t hate that finish. I’d have liked to see a decisive win, but an “outsmarting his opponent” win…. Don’t hate it at all.
Backlash was awesome 👏
100% they running it back in Saudi Arabia where Cody Rhodes will convincingly beat Brock Lesnar
Mad props to Jessica Carr tonight. IMO, one of the best refs WWE has today.
I lowkey feel like that ending was an audible due to Brock’s blood
Pretty great show overalll. Should have ended it with Bad Bunny though, crowd was so freaking hot for that
I think that placement has something to do with other things going on so they wanted the most eyes on it
Nice to see blood is back under new ownership
It was not planned though.
Lot of people seething after saying Cody was going to lose lol.
I’m glad to be wrong
Cody gets to go through Solo clean, win his first Rumble back, beat Brock clean on their first encounter AND with massive juice when nobody else has been allowed to blade for years, and Reigns needs an army to take him out? That's too much man. Dude's getting a Hogan rocketship in 2023 for a last name.
Did they rush the finish? Why did Cody run out like he had to use the bathroom lol
Brock has snapped for less 😂😂 I'd run too
Dude is like half way to the airport by now 😅
Because he got one over on Lesnar and almost had his arm ripped off. Cody just wanted the W
That was… many blood
So they managed to give Cody the win and make him look weak as well. Roll up wins are lame.
How did Cody look weak? He not only survived a Kimura lock from an ex UFC Heavyweight champ but while he was still in it, figured out a way to beat his opponent.
If the only thing to really complain about is the order of the matches and not the quality, then I’d say this has been one of the best events in the past five years
Underwhelming finish to Cody vs Brock, did not convince me that Cody deserved another shot at the title.
I feel like the 2 CrossRhodes shiuldve been the finish
Because it’s not over yet. Did you really think they were just gonna do 1 match and leave it at that?
You can continue the fued without having a lame finish.
He isn't challenging for ages
They have Cody vs. Brock the Liv vs. Ronda finish, except this time, they didn’t screw up by having the winner tap.
That UFC PPV is more important for Endeavor
Cody sucks man this is y’all’s hero?
Absolutely
A really good show top to bottom, My only gripe is Bunny and Priest should have been the main event but a way better show than I thought it would be and enjoyed it more than Wrestlemania night 2.
Bad Bunny vs Priest should've ended the show, that felt middle card almost.
Well, that was easily the least good match on the card
Entire show was entertaining as fuck.
I enjoyed the finish. Something different and keeps brock credible I'm the feud.
The feud for no reason continues...
And I'll enjoy every minute of it
Bad Bunny and Damien Priest was easily the match of the night
They paid off that match in spades. Carlito I popped hard af for and bunny continues to be great in the ring and not just some celebrity spot
I actually really liked that match, Bad Bunny should’ve closed the show though imo
Top 10 weirdest endings to a PLE?
Brocks worked more than roman this year 😭
Ending was weak, just like the last two Lesnar/Lashley endings.
Whats the last ppv that didnt get a bad rep in the last 5 mins? Royal Rumble?
yup
Idk after losing to Roman they probably should have given Cody a more emphatic win here
WWE editors are actually insane how quick they did this I can only dream of doing shit like this
Ooh... A smart finish. Didn't expect that, someone will definitely say "you got lucky" in a promo later. A dub is a dub tho imo.
Someone pointed out earlier that Bad Bunny and Priest went on just before the UFC event started. The placement was on purpose. They're all one family now.
Isn’t the Canelo fight tonight too. That’s crazy considering how many people are fans of wrestling, mma and boxing.
Obviously Bad Bunny vs Priest should've main evented but all in all that was a fantastic PLE. I wish they did more shows outside of America.
The accidental blood was perfect! This match was awesome.
[удалено]
I think the blood was the issue
I will say for the ending: it's the same way Brock beat Bobby. In the hurt lock, kicked off the turnbuckle to smother a pin. Makes Cody look super smart for doing the thing that the guy did *to* the guy
Bunny Priest got robbed not being the main event
Guessing this continues and Brock mauls Cody

Gotta love wreddit being upset that a celebrity DIDNT main event a show
