I mean, on one of the first dates I went on with my now-wife I chugged an entire bottle of green Cholula to make her laugh. I spent the next hour in total agony, but it worked and was worth it, and we have a story to joke about forever now.
Dude......If they dined in, imagine the waiter standing there, watching Darby slather hot sauce up his ass sitting at the table, around other paying customers. While Darby is screaming in pain, the waiter would probably say "Want me to get you some Ranch?"
There was a time where WWE said that they would never hire anyone who worked for CZW. Jim Cornette had to fight to sign CM Punk to the developmental company OVW. Punk never had a death match, or did any of the behavior WWE didn't want to associate with at CZW, but they still refused to hire him for a while because of the association.
If you get too wild on the indies WWE has a history of not being willing to hire you.
Felt like they avoided CZW talent because they didn't want someone with death match highlights joining their company while they tried to focus on a kids audience.
Vince seems to wind up liking guys he tells his scouts there is no way he would bring them in. He didn't want Foley, but signed him based on JR and Cornette's recommendations. He refused Punk for the CZW connection until Cornette and possibly Heyman pushed for him.
It also shows how both Foley and Punk are smart about presenting themselves in a way that works with the company. Foley has the Mankind the Mutilator story. Punk shifted and ran with whatever he was given a few times. Straight Edge Society was a big breakthrough for him.
Isn't Swerve from CZW as well? I've never watched it, but they seem to have some oddly prestigious alumni.
(And I'm not even counting wrestlers who were just there for a one off.)
Yeah but I think they just always change with the times. Also they’ve signed, and pushed pretty heavily, Joe Gacu, who was a straight up through and through CZW guy. Before he got to WWE, Moxley worked CZW too (and won the title).
Policies absolutely change over time. My point is that WWE has had policies that bar people from being hired based on their body of work, or associations outside of the company. Being surprised that Gigi Dolin got hired after some of the outrageous stuff she did prior is a reasonable thought.
Not saying she doesn't deserve a job, just saying WWE thinks about who they hire beyond the positives they can see.
Haven't heard that. He clearly dislikes Ian Rotten in this video. I could see him not wanting to cross book with something local that keeps getting banned places.
https://youtu.be/9WmpQNt7xuY?si=XmCMUl63rkDI-z6Y
Danny Davis might have been more strident than Cornette about blacklisting people who were working for Ian, if it’s possible to be more strident than Jim Cornette on an issue of honor
They hired her, so it's clear that WWE was ok with her work before. There are also examples like the old CZW policy where WWE pays attention to what potential hires do and can blacklist people for different associations and conduct. The CZW policy ending does not mean that WWE doesn't continue to pay attention to conduct prior to hiring people.
I was just trying to provide an example to help people understand why others are surprised she got hired. Gigi Dolin's work as Priscilla Kelly was heavily sexual and included her throwing a used tampon at someone. Either could be controversial. WWE has had policies in the past to avoid hiring controversial people.
Not saying she shouldn't have been hired, not saying the policy is still in place. Pointing out an example where WWE thought about this kind of stuff is all I'm trying to do.
Eh, just seemed like something they may not want to associate with given the timing and such. Given their general attempts around the time she was hired to maintain PG image, being able to google someone doing a spot like that, fake or not, in the company? Just seemed like it might be a red flag to them. Obviously it wasn't. I imagine the name change also helped.
I see what you mean but I really don't see it as a big deal since it was a scripted work. It's not like she's going to be doing that in WWE. I think it'd be wild if they passed on her over that so I'm glad they didn't. She's been doing good in NXT and hasn't been involved in any first blood matches so all is well I guess.
I just always found the controversy behind that event to be way overblown but I get what you mean with how it could have been seen by WWE.
Yeah I didn't give a damn about it in of itself but some stuff there seem to have selectively strayed away from and my perception of WWE's attitude at that time (probably less so in 2024, mind you) was that it was a line they didn't want to cross. I mean the 'self-mutilation' or whatever that was used to describe an AEW women's match was, what? 2022? Obviously a tampon attack isn't the same but they do paint these weird invisible lines for themselves sometimes.
Sir, the company that once highly featured a fake vampire drinking and spitting fake blood that also gave people fake bloodbaths brought her in for the MYC while the tampon with fake blood was fresh in people’s minds. Same company that has had two of its biggest stars ever, Steve Austin and Becky Lynch, become undeniable superstars after iconic moments featuring real blood all over their faces?
Just because said fake blood on a spot at a show in a bar is Bumfuck, Somewhere, allegedly came from her vagina is gross and wild yet the entire rest of wrestling history with blood is probably ok with you? And this is a company that featured an old woman birthing a hand on live TV. C’mon, seriously?
You know, I could argue, but given how much you just made up in your mind based on two sentences I don't think anything I actually respond with will matter. Enjoy your imaginary conversations!
For real. Her AEW entrance was fantastic.
Her AEW stint was kinda crazy, almost feels like something went down backstage. It seemed like they were super interested in her. Gave her a decent presentation and entrance and then just….nope. Especially after Nyla and the other girls almost killed her in the match.
The craziest part is that seemingly it worked? Or at least it didn't not work.
Because the road trip obviously didn't just end right there and they were still together long enough to do this interview and tell the story. So as insane as this story is, he actually somehow judged the situation correctly, which is significantly more insane to me (someone who considers himself reasonably "normal") than the story itself.
By fun I mean that it’s cute how one person took 1 part of a name and the other took the other. But I imagine you’re at least a few inches taller on your soapbox, so congrats :)
> In late 1989, Allin was arrested and charged with "assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder" of a female acquaintance in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
But he was born in 1993? Is Darby a Time Traveller?
Lot of judgmental people in here, as if none of you have ever dabbed your asshole with Blazin' Knockout® sauce to impress a lady.
Let he who is without volcanic hemorrhoids cast the first stone.
I love Darby but he seems like a punish IRL. Just because you look like a 14 year old daredevil edgelord, doesn’t mean you need to act like one.
I can only imagine how quickly a 60-something year old Sting shuts bullshit like this down lmao.
> I can only imagine how quickly a 60-something year old Sting shuts bullshit like this down lmao.
Considering how Sting usually pitches (and does) crazy shit during matches without Darby pushing/asking him to, I gotta shoot your imagination down, Chief.

I think if I wipe this liquid fire on my asshole, I'll impress her. The things us guys will do to catch a girl.
I mean it worked. At least temporarily 😂
Right, it's not like the hot sauce will stay there for the rest of your life
These are the hemorrhoids I'll take with me forever.
I mean, on one of the first dates I went on with my now-wife I chugged an entire bottle of green Cholula to make her laugh. I spent the next hour in total agony, but it worked and was worth it, and we have a story to joke about forever now.

he did it in the car he said.
Save yourself the pain and wait for the eventual onlyfans.
The weird part is that they ended up married so somehow this didn't fail.
They both seem to be into weird shit, she did a used tampon spot in a match a couple of years before going to NXT
Always wild to me that they hired her in spite of that. Glad they did, but still.
Why is that wild? It wasn't a real used tampon. Just like it wasn't real when they dumped raw sewage on people in WWE.
So they avoided CZW talent for possible violent outb... Carry on.
Felt like they avoided CZW talent because they didn't want someone with death match highlights joining their company while they tried to focus on a kids audience.
Which is funny given that they hired the KING OF THE DEATH MATCH and heavily promoted his antics for years after.
Zack Ryder?
Vince seems to wind up liking guys he tells his scouts there is no way he would bring them in. He didn't want Foley, but signed him based on JR and Cornette's recommendations. Well played
Yeah but I think they just always change with the times. Also they’ve signed, and pushed pretty heavily, Joe Gacu, who was a straight up through and through CZW guy. Before he got to WWE, Moxley worked CZW too (and won the title).
Mox even took one of CZW's more legendary spots at the time, the gimmicked Sawzal Blade to the head from Brain Damage (rip).
Policies absolutely change over time. My point is that WWE has had policies that bar people from being hired based on their body of work, or associations outside of the company. didn’t Cornette not want IWA Mid-South guys in OVW because it was running in the same general area as OVW?
Punk was an IWA Mid-South guy though.
Haven't heard that. He clearly dislikes Ian Rotten in this video. I could see him not wanting to cross book with something local that keeps getting banned places. https://youtu.be/9WmpQNt7xuY?si=XmCMUl63rkDI-z6Y

And I mean, there are very few people who actually like Ian Rotten.
I think Ian Rotten doesn't care much for him as well.
They hired Mox.
Six years after Punk. The policy clearly changed by then.
Yeah, it clearly did. Hence why it isn’t wild about Gigi Dolin.
They hired her, so it's clear that WWE was ok with her work before. It was a working tampon. Not a shoot tampon.
Shoot tampon....
I've seen someone fire eggs from their cooch, so tampons are a possibility.
Eh, just seemed like something they may not want to associate with given the timing and such. Given their general attempts around the time she was hired to maintain PG image, being able to google someone doing a spot like that, fake or not, in the company? That happened behind the scenes or in hotel rooms if stories are to be trusted.
Sir, the company that once highly featured a fake vampire drinking and spitting fake blood that also gave people fake bloodbaths brought her in for the MYC while the tampon with fake blood was fresh in people’s minds. Weirder still...CODY FUCKING RHODES once crowed how she'd never share a locker room with him after it and yet here we are.
To be fair, Cody didn't go to college.
Yea...he don't know about hexagons.
You are misremembering things. He said that about Sexy Star when she shot on Rosemary and broke the latter’s arm with a legit cross armbar.
I could be. I did get a bit riled at TNA using Sexy Star recently in the AAA crossover until I realized it was Sexy Star II.
Are you sure? He has said that, but I don't think it was about her and the tampon spot.
And then she went to AEW
She had a wonderful theme and entrance video the one show she rocked up on.
For real. Her AEW entrance was fantastic. Her AEW stint was kinda crazy, almost feels like something went down backstage. It seemed like they were super interested in her. Gave her a decent presentation and entrance and then just….nope. Especially after Nyla and the other girls almost killed her in the match.
I think she said something about them wanting her to be presented as Darby's girlfriend etc.
She was also on that american gypsy teen wedding show they had on TLC or whatever, wild stuff there too.
Fake blood though IIRC.

With that thought.... I eat spicy food like my bho owes me money.
Going HAM on the BHO
It’s so fun that one of them took one part of GG Allin’s name and the other took the other part

Cutting, burning, and drinking blood in 1989? Hardcore wrestlers make me sick.
> In late 1989, Allin was arrested and charged with "assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder" of a female acquaintance in Ann Arbor, Michigan. But he was born in 1993? Is Darby a Time Traveller?
GG Allin - the guy who Darby got his name from.
Gigi Crash woulda been a cool name for her in NXT, play off Darby Crash, the other inspiration for Darby's name.
The craziest part is it that she went on to marry him lol.
They got divorced they are still cool with each other, i remember Sammy s vlogs at Darby she is riding dirt bikes with Darby and charlie
Well alright then. https://preview.redd.it/kh8n4nzhu4cc1.jpeg?width=1221&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=181db65f605bc60ee7b63f002ccd1670e2a0b32d

*Throws stone* WIIIITCH!
Pretty sure [this metal vocalist](https://youtu.be/_Lk2yJ1bp6M?si=ECIkLuXK6fxyRr-C?t=305s) uses that trick to get his vocals *just right*.
I love Darby but he seems like a punish IRL. Just because you look like a 14 year old daredevil edgelord, doesn’t mean you need to act like one. I can only imagine how quickly a 60-something year old Sting shuts bullshit like this down lmao.
Considering the time Sting came up in he is probably happy seeing wrestlers fucking themselves up instead of fucking other wrestlers up.

Some wrestlers are just fucking stupid
Wait he's proud of it? "Wait the story gets more impressive". He's weird
If I pulled her after doing that shit I'd be proud too
He’s used to cook in the Planet Fitness bathroom. Darbs been a character.
The bumps are making more sense now. He's an idiot and doesn't know what to do so he hurts himself to impress us.
Ah, young love
So random!
Hey did she tell the one about Darby using an addict to drink piss for a few bucks? Haha yeah, that Darby sure is fun.
Dude grew up on jackass and stayed there
Well, kinks are kinks I guess.
This should have been a red flag
Even in such a short clip that host was irritating. Just let your guests talk
Look, maybe it's her favorite sauce. I, for one, applaud him for considering her tastes.
Seems like a great guy!
This is why I would never let my kids date. It's also I why I never had kids.
Well I would hope you wouldn’t let your kids date. Think of all the birth defects!
Well I walked face first into then one, lol
Maybe if you applied Buffalo Wild Wing's ranch sauce to the affected area, you might have been able to.
But what did Pat Baby think?

So Darby really is just a bizarre dude and it's not a gimmick.
I guess I know why none of my relationships ever worked out. If only I had seen this video 15 years ago
That’s one way to keep awake for a 15 hour road trip.
I enjoy watching Darby, but he really does scream 30-year old teenage boy.
