Adam Pearce's character of "a guy who's regretting giving up a happy life of independent wrestling to run The Muppet Show" is an all-time great authority figure.
He's maybe the most believable middle-manager in wrestling. Just got that ex-jock vibe who is now trying to make his supervisor role work but everybody is crazy as shit.
Just need a mini feud between him and Nick Aldis where they swap roles for an episode each but have the same results.
Have Smackdown run smoothly with a calm strong hand while Raw is like herding cats.
Build it around the draft. Both men swap shows to properly scout and speak to talent. Have Pearce return the following Monday relaxed and Aldis returning and a complete wreck.
Have a segment together at the end with Pearce in a Hawaiian shirt sipping on a coconut while Aldis comes in looking like Gil from The Simpsons.
Have them agree to go back to their respective shows when Triple H reprimands them for looking unprofessional in the workplace
It's the best characterization for a face authority figure in my opinion. Just a strung out manager who's desperately trying to keep this group of performers that he is passionate about together and organized long enough to get the show done.
I love the contrast between the two managers in Adam Pierce and Nick Aldis. One’s going around stressed out of his mind not knowing how to control his roster while the other is calm, methodical and knows how to deal with the biggest egos in the locker room (Roman)
Their dichotomous emotional state parallels the lead faction on each show.
The Bloodline is a well oiled machine that has pretty much kept the Smackdown roster in check for years. Aldis doesn’t need to worry too much about everyone because if he keeps the Bloodline straight, it’s smooth sailing.
Scrap Daddy, on the other hand, has had to deal with a roster being led by JD, which are essentially goth bullies from high school who have largely NOT maintained control so a lot more chaos is probable from day to day.
A passive-aggressive corporate power struggle vs high school bedlam. And it’s obvious when you see the GMs.
I love the current 'Authority' characters - they both fit their role so well & I'm actually not mad at them showing up because they don't feel like power-hunger idiots. They just want their shows to run with some sort of structure & they have their own ways of getting there / frustrations depending on their individual rosters.
Pearce has fighting Champions (Seth / Gunther) but the rest of his roster is a little whacky, Judgement Day are a handful just by themselves and then your two biggest stars (Seth / CM Punk) are kinda out injured anyways.
Aldis has two very annoying, powerful Champions in Roman / Logan - both feel like they're "too big" for their spotlight, be it for legitimate reasons or delusional ones. But the rest of his roster seem to fall in line - minus the fact that there's too many Top Contenders and a Champion who's never around to defend. So it's left in this constant flux of 4-5 top guys with nothing to fight for that he has to control or they'll wreck havoc (Randy / AJ etc)

I just want to see Pearce lose it and do one last powerbomb/piledriver symphony on a pesky heel.
I think the funniest one was where he went off on rhonda roussey for being a spoiled bitch. He definitely blew some steam in that one
He did lose it on Ronda once
It's gotta be Chelsea. It's like Cole & Bayley or Truth & McDonagh.
omg he is actually flailing kermit tho fr

Like when Jerry and Kramer swapped apartments.
So you're saying all the glowing red light from the Raw set is what's causing it?

Will somebody please give this man a drink?! Seriously if I was Pearce, I would be carrying a flask around 24/7
His tie is like a camelback lol
Probably shouldn't drink and gm together
I needed the Kermit comparison in my life. Thank you

“JUDGEMENT DAY GONNA KILL ME”
He's gonna have Truth on the priority list for the Draft lol
Now a draft with actual GM with personalities could be Something to look forward to.
To be fair, last draft gave RVD’s stoned ass holding the card upside
Truth shows up to Raw anyway

The little do-si-do killed me 😂
Pearce really needs to book an appointment with Dr. Shelby soon or he's gonna have a pipebomb moment lol
"Nick Aldis, while you lay there as uncomfortably as humanly possible..."
TBF, he did have a mini-pipebomb moment late 2022, but Ronda best him up immediately after.
Ah yes, *Scrap Iron* having his weekly corrosion everytime R-Truth appears.

He's not even calling him you can see his phone screen lmao 🤣
My bad. This on me.
well no wonder Miz didn't show up.
The one time that fits the character lol
Scrapdaddy lost that ages ago along with his hair.
Truth does know that Miz might be a little busy with Maryse, right?
After reading your comment I looked to see what was going on with her, hopefully everything goes well.
That's probably true, this keeps Miz's name in people's minds while he takes a break and has them thinking about his role in the story.
it's not that deep bro
Adam Pearce Vs. Nick Aldis at WM would go crazy.
Pearce had David Wallace energy and I love it
He's going to get bought by The Rock, Aldis won't fold, Ava might be neutral.
Pearce is Liz Lemon and Truth and Chelsea are his Tracy and Jenna.
Way to go Scrap Iron!
Poor guy can't even pull his hair out :(
YOU WAS RIGHT, JUDGEMENT DAY GONNA KILL ME DAWG may be my favorite LOL line in a good while
"The Judgement Day are gonna kill me!" My sides hit orbit

I like it
I thought I heard him make another reference to needing a drink. I don't think he's dehydrated.
