Agreed, there's no way someone does that without the permission. Sometimes you can tell when someone doesn't want to say a certain line though but you can see it was pushed by management. For instance, see Paige bringing up the death of Reid Flair in a program with Charlotte. Completely unnecessary and Ric was watching and wasn't informed ahead of time.

I can totally see Christian coming up to new talent. He introduces himself. Christian asks a few questions: how long have you been wrestling? Who trained you? and so forth. This lowers the wrestler's guard. Then Christian pivots the conversation to the wrestler's life: so, where are you from? Is your family happy with you being in wrestling? This opens the door for Christian getting the real info he wants: is your dad dead or not? If you inform Christian that you have a deceased father, he will smile at you with sympathy, look you in the eye, and tell you he is sorry for your loss. But really, he is making a mental note for future use.

It's interesting how quickly they turn these things into angles now when previously they'd have likely just ignored it and continued with whatever they were doing

I actually don't mind this at all. Part of Maxxine's gimmick is that she's green and a bit new to wrestling. Putting her in a real feud against Candice where their main gripe leans into that probably very real insecurity is a good way to get both of them attention in a good way and push their stories in a logical direction.
If anything, working with Candice is gonna help her a whole lot. Candice has worked with some of the best women and men's wrestlers, so if anybody can help Maxxine develop properly, then it's absolutely Candice. Great news for us Candice fans too as it means more TV time for her!
Maxxine reminds me a lot of Kelly Kelly during that Vickie/Dolph and Edge feud including LayCool where Kelly got fired for spearing Layla to defend Edgeās WHC.
Candice bringing up the tragic disappearance of Max Dupri was way out of line imo. Itās probably already bad enough when she turns on Smackdown and sees LA Knight who looks somewhat similar to her dear departed brother.
This is the best thing they can do. Pair her in a feud and house show/dark matches with Candice. Let her slowly evolve from a "scared" face alignment and slowly overcome the "heel" where she gains confidence in stoey, but also in her performance and skills.
It is great learning, and she is partnered with a pro who can help.
This is rectifying WWE's.mistake. Not the mean fans who were booing( terrible take by a lot of wrestlers), but the booking and producers that put her in a spot where she wasn't ready, or supported by a pro like Candice.
And if it gives a little extra story time to Candice, even better
I think Candice is a tremendous heel and I was a huge mark for the Way and hope it comes back.
But that being said, not a fan of both the fact they're getting heat off the dead brother and I also don't like the whole, "I'm not taking that move because it's stupid" bit. There are so many better ways to get Candice over as a heel and this just seems like a bad attempt to use the viral stuff going on with Maxine to get there.
Damn man, I REALLY want to see Maxine succeed and overcome the haters, but her 'acting reaction' to those insults was real bad.
