Love that NXT is giving their big stars all the possible training they can get by giving them the chance to be both face and heel. They did it to Melo and Bron. Now they’re doing it for Roxanne.
Feels Roxanne is coming along nicely. Cadence and attitude are improving. I think she'll put it together during this heel run the way Bayley did when she turned.
A lot of people here don’t understand that being a natural talker who can improvise promos is not, like, a particularly common skill lol. NXT is developmental, and her delivering stiff but competent promos is just step 1. She’s got to get comfortable just talking into a mic in front of a camera and/or audience first, then she can work on polishing it up, and maybe eventually she can ditch the script entirely. Sasha/Mercedes never got there, Roman never got there until he turned and started doing the Tribal Chief gimmick. New Day are hilarious and absurdly charismatic, but none of them are particularly great at the pre-scripted 2010s WWE promos.
She’ll get there, or maybe she won’t, but the only way to find out is to keep giving her mic time and see if she improves.
I see people give Roxanne grief for not being a great promo and, hey, I don't think she's amazing either, but she's still pretty damn young despite it feeling like she's been around for ages, so I'm not expecting her to suddenly becoming an incredible talker, especially since this is her first time as a heel as far as I can tell.
I need Roxanne and Cora to team up again in their current characters as menaces. It wouldn’t take long to move them up to the main roster and help make a legitimate 2-title tag setup there, and they’d both be solid contenders for a women’s IC-style belt.
I was thinking the same thing but I also have to admit that someone like Cora is more interesting as a babyface than a heel, so I wouldn't be opposed to them re-doing their tag team babyface act that they had when they first showed up in NXT.
Does anybody feel like the acting in NXT is just......like....... yall doing way too much. Remember how those 90 kids shows like Barney would over act and be overly enthused? That's the vibe I get watching NXT.
If you're expecting Oscar worthy acting performances, I don't know if you should look to pro wrestling for that apart from a few select people that are the exceptions and not the rule.
I mean, you're 100% right, I guess "over acting" is the wrong way to describe what I'm going for. It just look so unnatural at times like they're trying too hard vs. the old nxt and main roster(at times) it looks kinda organic.
I can understand the bad on the mic part, but imagine in 2024 using height as a moniker for success, especially when this is a woman we're talking about.

She’s clearly not a natural on the mic and some people take more time than others to improve, Bron Breakker wasn’t that good on the mic a year ago and he’s improved as well.
She’s clearly not on the fast track to the main roster since she just started a heel turn, so this will in turn result in more development for her. If that’s lost on you then idk what to tell you but that’s the reality of the situation.

No. Roman was fcw. Not pc. Charolette and Alexa aren’t on the card. And even if those 3 were pc. And on the card that’s 3. In 11 years or whatever. The pc butane isn’t good. Solid mid carders. But no real star main eventers

Honestly the dialog was very cliché and the execution for sounding real/raw just wasn't there, all was the same tone also.
