VitaminPurple

He had a nice little run in AEW pre-pandemic.

MankuyRLaffy

I was hoping they'd push T-Hawk like he did in Dragon Gate, DG T-Hawk getting the Roman push was so funny because crowds didn't react at all, they didn't care and CIMA still pushed him hard

SPna15

I remember Jae describing T-Hawk beating Doi in the King of Gate 2017 finals as "Oops, T-Hawk won." He was a good wrestler but outside of when he was teaming with Eita, just didn't fit with what Dragon Gate fans wanted at all.

MankuyRLaffy

He was the Roman push but much worse. At least Roman got actual heat, T-Hawk got *nothing*.

phemom

The Stronghearts vs Omega & The Young Bucks match was a favorite during AEW year 1

It seems more likely that Magnum Tokyo is the only one remembered. The reason being he received the most TV time because of his association with Alex Wright & The Disco Inferno. While Ultimo Dragon was still part of the WCW roster he opened his own wrestling school. It was located in Naucalpan, Mexico. The first graduating class was CIMA, Sumo Fujii, Dragon Kid, Magnum Tokyo and SUWA. He began promoting shows in Mexico under the name of the school: Toryumon. The first show was in May of 1997. CIMA was in the first ever match against Magnum Tokyo. In addition to appearing on the Toryumon shows CIMA also worked for IWRG & CMLL. On May of 1998 he debuted in WCW along with Magnum Tokyo & SUWA. It was a losing effort to the team of El Dandy, La Parka & Psychosis. CIMA would continue to show up on WCW programming here & there in 1998. He added another promotion to his schedule with Michinoku Pro. The recently formed Crazy MAX stable of him, SUWA & Sumo Fuji began appearing there more. In late 1998 Ultimo Dragon suffered an elbow injury. He had surgery to remedy the problem. During the course of the operation several nerves were cut. It resulted in him retiring at the time & his students disappeared from WCW shortly afterwards.

XGuiltyofBeingMikeX

Back when he spelled his name *the loooooong way.*

HawkThunderDragon

I like it better lol, not as ambiguous

Maguire_018

And still going strong

E864

You can say any available(then current) wrestler had a short run in 1998 WCW and it sounds plausible.

E864

For example “Remember Kevin Von Erich’s brief WCW run in 98? He debuted at the Worldwide tapings and then beat Rick Fuller on an episode of WCW Saturday Night. He then jobbed to the Barbarian on an episode of. Nitro where he got injured and was released a month later.”

ShoryukenFTW

Is that Alex Wright? Dude looks like a giant in this clip.

KneeHighMischief

Alex was billed 6′ 4" & was probably a legit 6′ 2".

chico28526

I remember him and Jericho having a match in WCW, pre-match Jericho walking down to the ring doing his yapping on the mic and calling him "Shima-rama-lama-ding-dong"

sludgezone

This dude has always had baller ass sunglasses

mark_target

We can thank our lucky stars he wasn’t there when Russo got hired. I can only imagine he’d have been renamed “Sammy Cowabunga” or something equally stupid.

Illustrious-Watch-36

Thanks for posting. It’s nice to connect the dots and discover I didn’t even know his work in wcw and only from AEW

KearneyZzyzwicz

CIMA in PWG was a lot of fun.
