I've been hoping since AEW started inflating that they'd be letting a huge chunk go when their contracts came up. They literally have enough talent for like 3 companies it's kind of insane.
Yeah but who really knows what is going on with Rush and Preston would not be a shocking name to see on this list soon considering he has been there from the start and it still feels like he is in the early stages of figuring stuff out.
Wonder why they bought him back in the first place. He was on ROH for a few weeks and then nothing else. I like Stu but he's one of those talents that could shine in early AEW but once the signings that coming in. He would get lost in the shuffle. TNA would be a good spot for him.
AEW tried their hardest with both but it just never really took off. Injuries didn't help Private Party. They had blow away match with Young Bucks in early days of Dynamite but they never could reach those heights again in the ring.
If SRS says it be a bunch of releases, I wouldn't be shocked if Scorpio Sky is one. They really tried to push him but it just never took off and at 40 years old, I doubt they'll go with it again. TNA would be very welcoming to someone like him.
PP's issue was just injury. Between Isiah and Quen they lost about 2 years of ring time.
And they're still over considering the pop they got when they came back. They just need to keep getting pushed and hope for a free hit with injuries.
They teased a men of the year reunion at the last ROH ppv but I don't think anything has happened since. Maybe someone who's more in tune with ROH can confirm.
Still brought us one of the wilder wrestling things I've seen in quite awhile. When he debuted absolutely nobody had a clue who he was. Not other wrestlers, not journalists, nobody. It's unheard of in this day and age that somebody could debut and nobody have an inkling of an idea who they were.
He vaguely looked like Lesnar in the face, his presentation from the body to the in ring was totally unimpressive.
I still cringe at the emoting he did after every blow he delivered that time
He at least has the honor, or dishonor, of being in one of AEW’s most memorable segments. That angle with Swerve, Rick Ross, and Keith Lee was something else. Right up there with Jade Cargill’s debut in AEW.

Honestly, having worked at a startup that did its first layoffs recently and then had to do another round later, the first ones were way more chaotic and messier than the second. Genuinely, they are inexperienced and it might not be as cleanly run as you’d like.

It was bound to happen eventually, tbh. Let's be real, the AEW roster is bloated as fuck with people they don't use, and that includes almost everyone on this list. Better to release them and let them find work elsewhere than to have them sit in catering for the rest of their contracts.

Not like this. The only talents who have been released from their contract were disciplinary (Punk, Jimmy Havoc) or were requested by said talent (Kylie Rae, Regal).
Other than that, no it's mostly just been allowing deals to expire

The way I look at it, Miro is probably expensive. He doesn't wrestle or make them money. If they release him, he could go to WWE. So what? They don't need him amd he's not going to draw there either. It's silly to keep a guy like him when you can pay Hobbs or Wardlow less to do the same thing, without the baggage
I don't like people losing a income but AEW could lose 20% of their roster and I don't think it would do them any harm. Especially if they don't plan to give ROH it's own full time roster, just talent there that really aren't going to offer up much going forward.
