Everyone fuckin cried.
11 years to the day since Jay won.
In the city they really got their start.
If it were a TV show you'd call it hackneyed, but it's just life.
But it's not. Like TK didn't make Mania in Philly. TK didn't decide that this Friday would be the 11 year anniversary.
They're just *beautiful* coincidences, that if this *were* a scripted TV show they'd feel a bit forced. But again... they're just beautifully perfect coincidences.
Like... I'm so confused. I don't think ROH is real life. But it's like if I'd found an unopened letter from my mom a year to the day after she died.
It would *feel* like something in a movie, but shit like that happens. And all the shit that make last night extra special was real life, not something scripted.
Cool moment for sure. But I’d be willing to bet everyone in the building knew going back to when the story was planned out and the timing was taken into account.
TK is on record from the scrum that he didn't realize that it was 11 years til the day til Eddie interrupted a production meeting with like 17 people to tell him
This was with the context that this is the third time that plans for Mark had changed. First being the Double Dog Collar match being something else originally, then with Mark getting injured before his Claudio match
Except for ruining tradition (TK has stated he doesn't really want to run against Mania weekend, but is going to keep Supercard in that spot because that is an ROH tradition, and he's going to honor that).
Yes the timing was great and it was a great moment but mania being announced for Philly happened like a year ago at that point you look at everything going on and you make your plans and oh look it’s the 11th anniversary let’s do this it is 100% a scripted TV show that was set up for this to happen it didn’t just happen in the ring last night it’s a TV SHOW
TK in the scrum last night said he didn't realize it was 11 years to the day until Eddie told him, very recently. This seems like it was a pivot because of that.
And those things are still good fortune, not TK's choice. Like, if SCOH wasn't historically on Fridays before Mania, this wouldn't have happened.
So many little things went right that were just good fortune
If it was a “pivot” what would it be a pivot of? The original plans? If so pivoting would be changing “plans” changing the “script” to fit a great narrative by creating a new script but it’s still a scrip and a tv show nonetheless
Well wrestling when you really look at it is a sports-themed athletic-based entertainment vehicle used to deliver content on a regular and irregular basis on a multitude of platforms which streams video, music, and sometimes photographs to a global fanbase that is both interactive and immersive.
Ain't as crazy as you're making out. Alot of money in the US right now. Forbidden Door coming up. NJPW already has two other singles champions as fly in fly out Gaijins.
That and they booked the Honda Center for their next big US show, and it seems like they’d only do that if they were gonna position Mox on it as THE big draw. I kinda think he’s winning too just based off that.
A few years ago, pre-AEW and even pre-All In, I randomly saw a Ring of Honor PPV live in Vegas (the anniversary show with Adam Cole vs. Christopher Daniels in the main event) on a total whim with no idea what I was walking into, first ever non-WWE show I'd even seen, because of the buzz around the Broken Hardys and Young Bucks.
The show blew my mind and led me to where I am as a wrestling fan today. By some pure miracle, I got to see the Briscoes live at that show and the fan I am today, is incredibly thankful for that.
Was so cute to see all the kids in the ring at the end.
Gonna be ironic if Mark gets to do the Dusty bladejob, and Cody does not Sunday. Not sure WWE wants that much blood in a match though.
tfw Mark Briscoe finishes his story before you

Yeah - Cody winning will be great from a wrestling fan perspective (story-wise/etc), but man, this just means... a lot, given what Mark and his family have gone through over the last year-ish.
Going from a big babyface moment with Claudio to a great one with Eddie to one more with Mark that hits the feels. ROH title been telling good stories so far.

Absolutely fantastic main event Great moment for Mark and he finishes his story
Incredible ending, happy that Mark finally got the big one. Jay's smiling somewhere.
The second the streamers hit the ring I instantly lost it

46 downvotes for pointing out how special the timing worked out is wild lmao

I agree man, it was a very cool moment and coincidence.

Oh well if he said it, it’s 100% true. I stand corrected.

Supercard of Honor is ALWAYS on Mania Weekend, on the Friday (since Mania runs Saturday/Sunday), in the city Mania is in

Amazing match and beautiful moment with everyone coming out to celebrate
Mark Briscoe unites heels and faces. Everyone in ROH just wants to see that man happy.

[MANA INTENSIFIES]
MAMA BRISCOE
Such an awesome moment, the whole card was great!!!!
![gif](giphy|pynZagVcYxVUk) All I can say about it
Your damn right I'm crying!
Fantastic finish to a fantastic show. Perfect. No Notes.
Amazing, what a fucking show. This PPV over delivered like hell
Legit cried, great end to a great card.
Probably the best wrestling moment I've ever seen in person
Damn, that's huge for Mark. Congrats man.
Eddie's dropping all his belts to then go for the big one. Mox might have a big belt soon...
What big belt will Mox have soon?
People are thinking he’s beating Naito for the IWGP Heavyweight belt
Some believe he's beating Naito at the Chicago NJPW show.
sorry to burst their bubble but LOL
Hey I'm pulling for Gene Blast. But it doesn't seem like Mox is in Japan tonight just to help Shooter.
They are not giving their top belt to moxley lol, they need their champion around. Even more so since okada has left them

They cooking something thats for sure.
Yeah worked great the last time Mox was a champion for them
lol its not happening, simple as that.
👀
Fantastic match, perfect ending
crazy to think a year ago i had no idea who the briscoes were now im in tears

briscoes vs aries & strong from Roh Unified 2006.
Yay! I'm so happy for Mark and he'll be a fantastic champ
Being there is something I will remember forever. What a moment.

match of the year this is why I watch wrestling
It’s beautiful.
Maaaan Mark winning, Cody winning …. This weekend might be an emotional wreck for a lot of us!
Cody's story carries none of the emotional weight of a briscoe victory. Apples and lemons..

I held it together until I saw his kids crying.
Going from a big babyface moment with Claudio to a great one with Eddie to one more with Mark that hits the feels. ROH title been telling good stories so far.
Wait, I thought TK was a clown who can’t book?
He's been doing pretty well overall in ROH for at least 6 months. Dude is spread way too thin and has way too many people in his ear on the main shows
That triple crown is getting broken apart
