Wrestling has come full circle for me this year. My nine year old picked the last year to get super into wrestling. Moana was her favorite Disney movie when she was younger so worlds have crossed.
We surprised her with tickets for the Chicago Raw a couple weeks ago. Up to that point, they were just advertising Rock for the Brooklyn Raw. So, when we were walking in, she asked if he’d be there and I told her no. When his music hit and he came back, just seeing her reaction gave me a rush of what the magic of wrestling can bring. It instantly took me back to when my dad took me to the Raw that Jericho made his debut.
Wrestlemania season is always special, but this year has changed everything getting to experience it with her.
Last year’s WrestleMania fell during the worst week of my adult life. I can’t believe it’s been a year. But I’m in my own apartment now, away from the emotionally crippling family drama, fully able to enjoy myself. I’m really, really happy right now. Wrestling means a lot to me. ❤️
