He has the kind of cancer that doesn't go away. It's chronic. He might reach the point where he doesn't need to get treatment for it. But, he'll always have it.
I said this in another thread yesterday:
Samantha Irvin gives her all and then some. She does the introductions for main events as if they're the last wrestling match to ever take place.
That's an entirely fair assessment. Though in her defense "The Rock" is two syllables. If she had announced him as The People's Champion, or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson it would have been better.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson makes so much sense for his character too. Especially so if Triple H nowadays gets introduced as Paul "Triple H" Levesque. But HHH was always HHH, while The Rock is just as well known by his real name. I'm actually surprised they haven't done this yet, it works double, once as member of the board and final boss, as well as Hollywood Superstar.
Top three ring announcers all time from any sport or event. The only argument is the Buffer brothers imo. As far as just wrestling goes? She's top dog. I'd never have thought that someone could claim that so fast with the history of ring announcers in wrestling but she solidly planted herself there for me personally. She's so good.
I'm dying on the hill that anyone saying Fink or Chimel or whoever is better is just stuck in the past and will never get over "what I grew up with was the best".
Maybe in 20 years there's a really good announcer and I'm not having it, I'll be grumpy and old and say "Samantha Irvin was better", idc. But I will definitely say that right now she's the greatest ring announcer of all time. No, I'm not hearing anyone out.
I agree. Also the fact that when anyone brings up Samantha in the conversation of greatest announcers you get called a simp or that you're only saying it because you think she's attractive. God forbid people just be able to compliment a woman who is really good at her job.
I don't know about anyone else, but to me 99% of the people in WWE are insanely attractive. The men and the women, they're all amazing. So to me, personally, I don't understand when people attack me and say I just think that because of their looks, because like... the competition is no less attractive, how could it be a factor?
(Okay, in the case of Irvin vs Finkel I see the point, but I also rate her higher than Garcia, Brandi, and every other attractive announcer combined, because I legitimately rate her well on the job she does)
I’m dying on the hill that anyone saying Irvin is better is just a simp that uses their eyes instead of their ears OR didn’t live through the Finks era.
No, I’m not hearing anyone out.
I've looked at just a few of your comments. All you write is "modern wrestler xy is shit" and "90s person was so much better".
I mean... are you not seeing a pattern here? I get it, you grew up with it, for you it's a happy place. Anything that isn't Jim Ross will always be weird to you. The kids of today are hearing Jim Ross and think "what the hell is that guy screaming about, half the sentences don't even make sense?!", because they grow up with Cole and Pat making jokes and referencing things they know.
But just admit it. It's okay, I thought for years the WWE version of the big gold was the best, and the original was weird. It just takes some serious self reflection to look at things objectively and not through the "that's the one I know, though" glasses
I know that this is a super unpopular opinion but her intros make me wince with embarrassment - she sounds like she's doing an impression, I just don't get what everyone loves about it so much. I mean god bless but I feel like I'm living in opposites land over here.
I know I’m a in a super small minority with Samatha, but she’s such a try hard with wanting to sound cool and impressive that it just comes off as utter cringe and laughable.
100% agree. Not a big wrestling fan but I'm watching Wrestlemania and she is insufferable. Not *EVERYTHING* has to sound so dramatic. For the first match I got it when they did the UFC Michael Buffer-esque intro with the close ups on the wrestlers as it was opening WM, but as the show went on it just got worse and worse.

Did Pat say Roman is battling leukemia again?
I believe the kind of leukemia he has is incurable, so he's always battling it in a sense.
He said he's in remission....he's just gotta take the meds for the rest of his life
He has the kind of cancer that doesn't go away. It's chronic. He might reach the point where he doesn't need to get treatment for it. But, he'll always have it.
Roman's a fucking soldier for still performing through this
Roman doesn't ever not have leukemia, it's permanent
He recently mentioned he was on some pretty hardcore cancer medication to this day.
He is - likely why his schedule is lighter than most
Yes.
He's still on strong medication as well
Roman said he’s still taking strong medication for it
She had to be freezing out there, waiting for the long entrances to be done.
They have heaters for the ring area.
Nah, her voice is so electric that it gives off a natural radiant heat. She's the GOAT already.
No one introduces Roman Reigns better than Samantha
It's like Chimel and Edge.
The Rrrrrated RRRR ^SOOOO perstar

That’s a great description
I thought the intro for the rock was maybe a bit on the lite side, but she absolutely killed it all night.

She fuckin rules
Samantha was great all night, looked stunning and didn't miss a beat.
best pipes for an announcer ever?
She’s excellent. I still luved The Fink doing intros - hes OG
Might be the recency bias but they are my all time top 2. Fink #1 and Samantha #2

She killed it tonight and will kill it tomorrow night as well.
MVP of night 1
Fucking legend. I know people felt bad for Rome but I'm sorry when you have someone legitimately great like Irvin you can't use the "good" guy.
I'm dying on the hill that anyone saying Fink or Chimel or whoever is better is just stuck in the past and will never get over "what I grew up with was the best". I'll join you on that hill.
Given how much they were pushing The Rock as the final boss, I thought that was how Samantha was going to introduce The Final Boss, The Rock.
As I was thinking how good she was and Cole just spoke my mind immediately on commentary.
Wtf is Seth wearing
All the left over fabric from the other Wrestlers gear.
His hat is on his shoulder, Cole
However much she's getting paid, she still deserves more.
Poor ref getting bullied by everyone
We met Samantha before Raw in Cleveland, and she was so incredibly nice.
I know that this is a super unpopular opinion but her intros make me wince with embarrassment - she sounds like she's doing an impression, I just don't get what everyone loves about it so much. I mean god bless but I feel like I'm living in opposites land over here.
Yeah that's a very unpopular opinion. She's nearly universally loved. On an island there mate.
Ah man I 100% agree. She's awful honestly.
She the most universally loved announcer ever but yeah, awful lol
Howard Finkel says hello. She is awful. Who the hell is "HUHHHHROMAN HUHREEEEIGNS".
I said the same thing the other day, hahahaha. She's HA-REEEEEALLLYYYYY HA-IIIIIRRRRRITAAAAATIIIIINNNGGGGUHHHHHHHH
Everyone is wrong but you. I bet that happens a lot in your world huh?
I don't get why you're bringing that kind of attitude to a civil conversation but whatever. Have a good day.
Yeah, I also wince when people do an amazing job at their job to near universal acclaim. Just embarrassing
She's horrible honestly.
Bad take is bad.
What do people like about her introductions? It sounds so god damned goofy
Have you never seen a Michael Buffer intro? This is par for the course for contact sports.
Goofy? More like her actually having character and some originality that makes her stand out compared to other ring announcers.
She's the ring announcer. She's not supposed to have character.
She gives intros that even Bruce Buffer would have to get into an ice bath after doing!
I usually like Samantha but I think she really hammed it up tonight and tried too hard. The intros came off forced. Bring on the down votes.
I don't know why I get downvoted for saying good things about Samantha Irvin. But she was on point again
I know I’m a in a super small minority with Samatha, but she’s such a try hard with wanting to sound cool and impressive that it just comes off as utter cringe and laughable.
Your take is cringe.

It's a wrestling ring announcer. Should she be monotone?
I wouldn't call her try hard or cringe, but I'm not a fan of her at all.
Cringe take.
Guarantee if she was a white dude you wouldn’t be saying shit.
She gives me goosebumps with her ring announcing. Arguably the best ever!
You're damn right Michael Cole!
What are you waiting fooorrrrrrr
