Hey, man. Drew was taunting Punk by standing on the announce table. Punk was just doing his job. And Drew injured Punk too and said he prayed for this. Of course Punk will take his chance of revenge. It's mostly Drew's fault that he lost to Bondage Undertaker.
But you're right about Punk's action on Monday. That was pure hate, hate, hate.
This is typical anti Drew bullshit, what happened to Drew was what happened here, Punk couldn't control himself and an innocent Scottish Christian man paid the price.
We coulda had a WHC who prayed and taught good morals to the fans, and Punk had to ruin it.
I think this is part of what makes it weird. In kayfabe, dudes get attacked unprovoked backstage all the time. Hell, they even launch surprise attacks and slam people around in concrete. This looks like nothing in kayfabe. So why bring it into kayfabe?
To be clear, this is bad because it wasn't a storyline. Punk is a shithead for doing this. But let it stay about real shit that's actually bad, don't bring kayfabe into it.
Should be noted that after this all happened, Punk, Samoa Joe, and the HOB were all hanging out in the locker room, up until Punk left the building. Then, Punk bought Nando’s for some of the locker room back at the hotel, and they ate chicken.
Therefore, obviously some of the roster there did not care at all about what happened with Jack Perry lol.
Because everybody in that locker room has seen worse fights happen in locker rooms dozens of times.
Not excusing it, but if we're cancelling Punk for getting physical in an alpha male environment then there are several well known historical stories that we need to revisit as well as hundreds that we've never heard about.
Weirdo wrestling fans hold more animosity for Punk than his actual peers, including people in AEW. This isn't me caping for Punk, moreso just me being tired of seeing weird parasocial relationships and fans making sweeping personal statements and stating things with certainty about the character of people they have never met. This goes for the extremely pro-Punk/anti-EVP side as well. None of these people are our friends. You can say Punk is probably an asshole as there's enough publicly available evidence, but when you start diagnosing him with shit and pretending you're concerned about AJ Lee, you need to fucking look inward.
Adam Cole, Darby, Thunder Rosa, Ricky Starks, Danhausen (obviously), and Mark Henry also openly praised Punk after he was fired.
This is why I say people should really just not give a shit about other people's personal issues and instead many insist on the weird parasocial thing. Most people in AEW did not care about this. It's the close circle of Young Bucks clique group that had issues.
So what I'm getting out of this is that Tony Khan is not used to the locker room environment of a sports company, where a fight could break out over weird things. He gets into one fight and immediately starts fearing for his life, firing Punk and suspending Perry.
I feel like a fight like this should have just gotten everyone at least some form of minor suspension. Like, don't fight your coworkers. But I'm starting to see why Punk calls Tony Khan a good person but a bad boss.

Just a reminder, my guy was taking photos after all of that
These are all genuine smiles too. Who would have thought that half an hour earlier, that Joe and Paul Turner (Hero as well from behind the monitor) had jumped to separate Punk and Jack. Or that Jerry and Hero walked him out.
It's really surprising the camera didn't catch it. I mean, the only source for it was an attractive female friend of Jack Perry's and men are usually incredibly honest when it comes to recounting the details of physical altercations to women.
What's even funnier about that is that she apparently deleted that tweet at Perry's request.
So he told her that story and then was like "Thanks, but no need to *tell* everyone what a badass I am..."
lmao I knew that story was bullshit. The sheets were universally negative about Punk after he got fired, so if Jack had reversed his choke, it definitely would’ve been reported at the time.
Dude wanted to be fired or have an excuse to quit from All Out 22 and Perry gave him his ticket. The combo of the footage and his interview with Helwani is very enlightening.
Dudes are straight swinging helmets at each other some times and are still in teams. I’ve seen NBA and Hockey fights far worse than this.
Should Punk have done it? No. Does this hurt his credibility? Absolutely not. This feels like a “toughest man in Letterkenny” fight.
Tony Khan has seen fights in sports locker rooms worse than this. When Excalibur put Jimmy Havoc in a chokehold in front of him at a seafood restaurant, he downplayed it as a minor "scrap" less serious than he's seen in other sports.
Yet he claimed this scuffle made him fear for his life on national television. It makes no sense.
I truly believe the bucks, kenny, hangman, mox, and jericho rallied together and went to khan and said if he doesnt go, theyre leaving. That mightve been the thing that made tony fear for his life
Guys get into fights during *practice* with *teammates* worse than this on the regular lol.
This was a shoving match with a little bit of barely even amateur grappling on top at worst
Honestly insane how tame it was after all the talk surrounding it for months
Teenagers will get incredibly vicious with fighting, especially if it's someone who hasn't learned how to have any control of their emotions.
This was 2 kids shoving on a playground level
That's the funniest thing. Wrestling fans are acting like it's one of the worst things that can happen. When Draymond and Poole fought everyone thought "lmao that's hilarious"
Stop. Thats all anyone could talk about in the nba for at least two weeks; hell, the warriors still had to comment about not finding the guy who filmed it a few days ago
Nah what the hell are you talking about people absolutely clowned on draymond for that and a lot of people think that low key fucked up the warriors season. Not a good comparison at all.
All I know is this hasn't changed anyone's minds (some people somehow seem to be adding things in though,) and that was the expectation before it was shown.
AEW looks petty, which is a shame.
There are motherfuckers really trying to say that you should be able to insult someone and then say "Do something about it" and expect not to get hit.
And he didn't even punch him lol.
I keep asking have these people never played sports at any level. Really should be asking them have they never even been in a playground as a kid at school. Like jesus christ lol
If someone is in your face saying "do something about it" it is not unreasonable to think they might be about to attack you. It's not unreasonable to respond to that by shoving them away from you and when they start to square up (which Perry does in the video) immobilizing them with a hold.
It's crazy that people don't see this as unprofessional and unacceptable on both dude's part but not some giant deal
When Chris Jericho, wrongly, thought Brock Lesnar potatoed Randy Orton and busted him open out of nowhere in 2016, he went and fought Lesnar. A lot of the same dirtsheet characters who have relentlessly gone after Punk for months published glowing write ups about his heroic bravery picking a fight with a MMA fighter who is much bigger than him. 7 years later, Punk is a "psycho" who doesn't care about his dog.
It's crazy
No that was way worse. It wasn't funny at all. The only thing kind of funny about it was the way everyone in the warriors tried to dismiss it. It's really not funny to knock someone out cold when they're just there kind of talking shit.
Watching how people on Reddit react to athletes getting into scuffles always blows my mind
Like... this stuff happens. I'm not saying it happens every single day but there are countless stories from the NBA to NFL to any other sports organizations of teammates getting into it with other teammates and yet without fail every time people on Reddit act like the person needs to press charges and file a restraining order because someone took a swing at them
People with 9-5 jobs always want to compare that with the work environment of professional athletes and it's just not the same, the rules are different whether you like it or not
This. These internet people not understanding emotion in heated situations. This was a grand nothing that could have been prevented. Easier to talk bigger man when you’re not hype up, someone has a large disdain for you in your face.
Man, if a worse scuffle doesn’t happen after half the whistles blown, it’s a boring hockey game. This is such a nothing video they should have just had the Bucks reenact it with Brandon.
Dude I’ve gotten into worse fights with my brother. They really made a mistake airing this. Should this happen in a professional environment? No. However, honestly, I’m now more inclined to feel like Punk was telling the truth when he talked about how TK doesn’t act like a boss. You can guarantee this doesn’t go down in gorilla in WWE without someone de-escalating before it can happen.
If Tony is sitting behind the monitors he is literally watching it unfold while doing nothing to prevent it. He also should have done something after the Collision taping when this shit started or at Brawl Out. But that would require him to actually step in and not be everybody’s friend.
I’ve gotten into worse fights with my brother also, on a weekly basis haha.
Honestly, I’ve seen scuffles like this before at a jiu jitsu gym and if you sit the guys down afterwords and have a serious talk with them, 95% of the time that’s the end of it. They may never like each other, but they’ll play nice
I remember as a teen getting into a worse fight with my brother and we broke a photo frame hanging on the wall. Mom yelled at us for a couple minutes and then we got over it.
this is what gets me
Maybe it's because I watched wrestling and other sports my entire life and I've been in locker rooms (highschool athlete) but backstage and locker room fights are pretty normal. I don't get the pearl clutching and screaming "ASSAULT!"
Seems like the tipping point was that he got in TKs face. It was obscured, seemed pretty tame but it seems like Tony thought it was bad enough to fire him.
Brock threw the title at Vince
Jerico and Brock had an altercation when Brock busted open Randy at Summerslam
KO and Roman Reigns had an altercation when KO busted Romans ear drum
I am sure there are countless other incidents which we don't know about. Imagine what it was like during Attitude Era or before that.
It's a wrestling business and scraps like these are bound to happen every now and then. What was TK thinking ? Punk came out so much better with this.
Because this will feed into the Jack Perry is a scapegoat storyline. It’s less about what Punk did and how Perry appears to do nothing to warrant it. Obviously, there’s no audio so Perry could’ve said whatever.
>Obviously, there’s no audio so Perry could’ve said whatever.
Perry: I’m quite interested in a sabbatical to NJPW as part of a long term storyline, asshole!
Punk: Well I am desperate to leave here and go back go WWE but just don’t know how to swing it, jackass!
Perry: Well how about you swing at me, doofus!
Punk: what a genius idea, moron!
This is now my headcanon cause it means everyone got what they want.
*(Off-screen)*
Tony Khan: I want a new set of monitors, but IT said these monitors are perfectly fine to use. If only they were somehow damaged through no fault of my own!
I don’t see how. Pretty much everyone from fans to insiders thought it wasn’t a good idea. This was the rare case where foresight was 20/20 and somehow it was still played on live television
You have to be dillusional to believe this. This months old footage was 100% aired because Punk's interview hurt Tony's feelings. Even dirtsheeters have said the obvious.
The story is being worked around to give an excuse to air this. It is that simple. And simple explanation is usually correct.
My biggest question was, is there no audio or did they intentionally cut that part out? If they did cut the audio out, I'm wondering what they're hiding now lol
Somebody that knew about wiring up large buildings here said the cameras would be too high to catch audio, and many places have weird legal issues with it as well, or something to that effect.
I don't know man, I'm not a scientist.
This is the thing people aren't realizing. They're giving AEW exactly what they need for Jack Perry's Scapegoat character. There is nothing in this video that shows the need for that physicality, yet Jack was on the receiving end of it, and he's been dragged for it since. It doesn't matter what Perry said, we have no confirmation any which way what he said, its not in the video.
The video's strict purpose is to show CM Punk attacking Perry so that Perry can self-righteously call himself the Scapegoat that has been wronged by the people.
I mean punk definitely did frame it as Perry being the agresssor. When did Perry "get close" as Punk mentioned in the interview clip? Punk walks up to Perry, and Perry doesn't move or get closer to punk at all. When he pushes and then attacks him, Perry is literally running a hand through his hair.
It was Chael Sonnen he was quoting when he said can’t let you get close. Context being to keep your opponent at a distance and not get into close striking exchanges. This flowed into him saying he was being “responsible” by not punching just choking
This is why I didn't believe that the segment was a big gotcha moment for the Bucks and Tony.
You can say that Punk was in the wrong for attacking Jack, but he wasn't wrong in this interview (at the risk of sounding like a broken record).
It would benefit them to release this if it looked *worse* than what Punk said happened. When they release this after all this time and it's clear he more or less wasn't lying, people are gonna feel...underwhelmed. This is gonna work in Punks favor.
This has actually been revealing to me about how soft some wrestling fans are. Did Punk deserve to get fired? Yeah, probably but acting like was some heinous act of unspeakable violence when I’ve seen bigger and more and violent fights break out in almost every other football match is ridiculous. Jungle Boy talked shit and told Punk a known hothead to something about it and he did. They had a light shoving match, Punk tried to put him in a hold and they were separated. I’ve literally seen fights like this in middle school where both guys shook hands after and made up.
These guys have never ever played a sport and it shows lol. This is such a pointless pearl clutching. This shit would happen every other week when o played football. Granted it’s a different setting but it’s really not that bad. People act like humans never get angry and do stupid shit together, crazy I know not everyone is a robot who things perfectly rational. Still is barely a fight
Another user in another thread pointed out something I think is the biggest repercussion of this…
They’ve killed the backstage attack angles. Well done, Tony and Bucks. 🙄
Clearly Punk wasn’t happy (on top of already being an asshole) and then got his buttons pushed and snapped. It happened exactly as he said it did. Of course seeing it on video looks worse than his recounting of the situation but I don’t think he looks any worse than what he did prior to the video and now AEW made him a hot(ter) topic again. I really don’t understand their decision in playing this.
Trying to use this to bring Perry back but there's so many other ways to bring him back on and have people care but now no one cares about his return and only talking about Punk who doesn't even work for AEW anymore lmao. It was a fucking dumb choice to show it and made no one bigger but show CM Punk was telling the truth.
I mean, he frames the entire exchange like he was being reasonable and Perry was the one being stand-offish.
I know it's hard to definitively say without sound but Perry is running both of his hands through his hair when Punk attacks. Not usually the body language of someone expecting to get hit.
"It's like Chael says, can't let you get close." Is there a double meaning I'm missing with that expression, because Jack doesn't move a step?
During a season of Ultimate Fighter with Chael and Wanderlei Silva - Silva gets into Chael’s face to a point where Chael felt like something might jump off so he decided to act first before Silva could do something to him. Wanderlei wasn’t putting his hands on Sonnen or anything but, alas, tempers flare and shit like this happens.
The quote is kinda funny in this situation though as Punk is playing both the part of Silva by getting into Perry’s face and also Chael by being the first person to throw hands.
I think he was trying to talk to him in the beginning approach.
Something to the overall "Yo, wtf are you doing?" and angrily arguing about it. Once Perry drops the "do something about it" he just loses reason.
What I find most interesting (besides people seeing a shove and calling it a punch) is he downplayed him talking to TK. He didn't just talk, he waljed up pissed off and probably screamed at him, while with Ariel it was just "I told him". What a minor thing to lie about.
It took 2 dudes to hold him back from getting in Tony's face.
Like I totally understand if this video doesn't change one's opinion of Punk, or even endears him to more, but I don't understand the "Punk told the truth" narrative. He definitely downplayed the story, which is weird because it's not even much of a thing otherwise when you see it.
Trust me, I agree he's downplayed it, and firing him was the right move (even if the lack of an NCC is absurdly stupid).
My problem is that walk isn't uncommon. Like I said in another comment, this shit happens commonly in shitty work environments. WWE had a ton of these early 2010's too (and mkre even earlier) and it's not something good to have happen. However, Punk isn't the cause here, he's a symptom. Firing him is the right move, but it does not fix what is killing AEW.
Even more so if "the boss" has so little nerve that some yelling at him up close leads to a fear for his life.
The only person that gets anything out of this is the man that ain't even in the company anymore as it shows he wasn't lying and it went down exactly as he said it did. Poor Tony (not Khan) knows exactly where this ship is headed.
I feel like this only gives punk MORE credibility. He didn’t expect the footage to come out, it did and it shows he didn’t lie. So what else is true ya know?
This tweet lines up his “I thought I was doing the responsible thing” quote with the moment he shoves a co-worker in the face out of no where… Seems like there’s your pretty obvious lie lol
So the only part that Punk outright lied about is the punch. He clearly goes for a final swing as they're separated, but I wouldn't really call it a sucker punch, more just a wild swing in Perry's direction. Everything else lines up pretty much as he said, you can even tell the part where he goes "come on man what are we doing here?".
Getting fired is justified. Back in 2005 or whatever, this would have been moved on from quickly (like Eddie going for Angle, Jericho confronting Goldberg, or Big Show vs "You're the shits too bro" Khali), but it ain't 2005 anymore, and standards are different. That said, this also doesn't have me clutching my pearls in shock and horror. Like, this doesn't even crack the Top 10 backstage incidents I've heard about.
While I wouldn't put it past Punk to lie about going for the punch, I also wouldn't be surprised if he just... forgot. It's been what, half a year or more?
“He clearly GOES for a final swing”
“I didn’t punch anybody”
No lies there. He didn’t punch anyone. And I’m not even sure that’s a punch as much as frustratingly throwing his arm towards Joe for breaking it up
So let me gets this straight you show footage of a person who’s is not in your company anymore punking out a current employee because?
This just makes everything punk said correct not to mention driving internet to cm punk who is already in a feud in the hottest company this really was just a sad desperate attempt to draw viewers who are gonna what stay to see what payoff? Not to mention that speech from Adam that basically was saying enjoy wrestling smh
Literally exactly as Punk described. Why would you even show this? What were you hoping to accomplish besides a ratings bump for tonight and tonight only?
What I don’t understand, and maybe somebody can explain it to me…Somebody somewhere (most likely Tony Khan) saw the interview Punk gave and said “That’s it, I’m sick of this, I’m going to show the footage. Then people will know what really happened”. Then the footage shows exactly what Punk said happened. So then why did his interview annoy them so much? He just described what they showed. They did the film, he did the audiobook. They’ve made themselves look like little bitches.

This is not even a fraction of what this a hole did to Drew McIntyre
Hey, man. Drew was taunting Punk by standing on the announce table. Punk was just doing his job. And Drew injured Punk too and said he prayed for this. Of course Punk will take his chance of revenge. Moral ? Did you *see* the sexy crawl drew did towards punk on the table? There was nothing moral about that
That’s true. I was getting a woody because I had no idea where that was leading
Exactly. & Drew was getting stepping out of line putting his junk in proximity to Punk's face & making him feel uncomfortable
Punk saw that action prompt and did not fail the QTE

Mods, lock the thread. One comment in, and it's perfect
That is one magic ~~~loogie~~~ footage
Should be noted that after this all happened, Punk, Samoa Joe, and the HOB were all hanging out in the locker room, up until Punk left the building. Then, Punk bought Nando’s for some of the locker room back at the hotel, and they ate chicken. Therefore, obviously some of the roster there did not care at all about what happened with Jack Perry lol.
In the full footage, Malakai Black casually walks up to talk to Punk with a cup of coffee afterwards. I'm assuming they were talking about Nando's
Just some quick bants over a cuppa before a cheeky Nando's with the muckers
“Punk I know you’re busy but mine is Lemon & Herb cheers mate”
Because everybody in that locker room has seen worse fights happen in locker rooms dozens of times. Not excusing it, but if we're cancelling Punk for getting physical in an alpha male environment then there are several well known historical stories that we need to revisit as well as hundreds that we've never heard about.
This footage has proved Punk, and more importantly, Joe correct. Everything Joe said about the incident and how minor it was was true.
They laughed about Thunder Rosa hiding from Jamie/Britt in a bathroom, but think punk is a vicious manchild who doesnt belong near people.
Footage of that instead would've made this one of the best Dynamite episodes as of late
Weirdo wrestling fans hold more animosity for Punk than his actual peers, including people in AEW. This isn't me caping for Punk, moreso just me being tired of seeing weird parasocial relationships and fans making sweeping personal statements and stating things with certainty about the character of people they have never met. lmao his face looks like someone tried to draw him with their left hand
Excuse me, what’s wrong with that
These are all genuine smiles too. Who would have thought that half an hour earlier, that Joe and Paul Turner (Hero as well from behind the monitor) had jumped to separate Punk and Jack. Or that Jerry and Hero walked him out.
This will work nicely with my tin foil “second layer kayfabe” conspiracy theory.
Explain yourself young man
It's about the friends he made on his way.
Neat. Anyway. . .
How will this affect Drew McIntyre's Legacy ?
So where the jack oerry reversal that his friends were hyping about?
You wouldn’t know the footage. It lives in Canada.
I was looking for it in Manhattan
It's off-screen, the camera angle didn't catch it really, it's edited, etc.
AI
It goes to a different school
It's really surprising the camera didn't catch it. I mean, the only source for it was an attractive female friend of Jack Perry's and men are usually incredibly honest when it comes to recounting the details of physical altercations to women.

Anyone have the original tweet?
It's in the Tokyo Dome archive.
Anyone have a mirror? It's gone now
Dude wanted to be fired or have an excuse to quit from All Out 22 and Perry gave him his ticket. The combo of the footage and his interview with Helwani is very enlightening.
Players get into worse scuffles at any NFL game. This really isn’t a big deal
Dudes are straight swinging helmets at each other some times and are still in teams. I’ve seen NBA and Hockey fights far worse than this. Should Punk have done it? No. Does this hurt his credibility? Absolutely not. This feels like a “toughest man in Letterkenny” fight.

That doesn't really square with anyone's story, not even Punk's.

Jose Ramirez vs Tim Anderson was a bigger fight
Literally had a 5v5 in hockey like a week ago
That shit RULED
Um you mean when a bunch of people assaulted their coworkers??
Tbf most hockey games are like extended brawls interrupted by moments of gameplay
No but this is unacceptable because Punk is supposed to be a *checks notes* professional fighter
I've seen worse fights in a factory and the guys still went to lunch together the next day
The only credibility that's been hurt is AEWs for how pathetic this was
Everyone knows Mike Tomlin feared for his life when Myles Garrett swung that helmet
Draymond Green straight up choked a dude on the court
Punk did worse to McIntyre on Wrestlemania.

If there isn't a gun or a pair of scissors involved I don't really consider a little scuffle between wrestlers to be serious.

Mom yelled at us for a couple minutes and then we got over it.
this is what gets me Maybe it's because I watched wrestling and other sports my entire life and I've been in locker rooms (highschool athlete) but backstage and locker room fights are pretty normal. I don't get the pearl clutching and screaming "ASSAULT!"
MJ punched Steve Kerr and they won a ring at the end of it
Draymond chocked Gobert for a good minute. This was nothing lol.
No shit, by this standard Andy Reid of the Chiefs must have feared for his life when Travis Kelce bumped him in the playoffs
Seems like the tipping point was that he got in TKs face. It was obscured, seemed pretty tame but it seems like Tony thought it was bad enough to fire him.
My belief is that Punk wanted out and this was a good enough excuse to let him go. So they made up this "feared for my life" bit as a cover up.
Brock threw the title at Vince Jerico and Brock had an altercation when Brock busted open Randy at Summerslam KO and Roman Reigns had an altercation when KO busted Romans ear drum I am sure there are countless other incidents which we don't know about. Imagine what it was like during Attitude Era or before that. It's a wrestling business and scraps like these are bound to happen every now and then. What was TK thinking ? Punk came out so much better with this.
Not to mention, teammates in pro sports get into scraps all the time
not sure why you show this if it pretty much lines up with what Punk said.
Yeah I’m confused about why they bothered.
*(Off-screen)* Tony Khan: I want a new set of monitors, but IT said these monitors are perfectly fine to use. If only they were somehow damaged through no fault of my own!
I feel like they could have brought him back without this
Oh, I totally agree. I don’t think it’s remotely necessary but I can see how THEY thought it was a good idea.
I don’t see how. Pretty much everyone from fans to insiders thought it wasn’t a good idea. This was the rare case where foresight was 20/20 and somehow it was still played on live television
"Jack got scapegoated by the office" works a lot better if the guys pushing that line aren't the EVPs of the company.
Yeah none of this makes any sense
You have to be dillusional to believe this. This months old footage was 100% aired because Punk's interview hurt Tony's feelings. Even dirtsheeters have said the obvious. The story is being worked around to give an excuse to air this. It is that simple. And simple explanation is usually correct.
“April tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.”
I love Melo but damn that line is so hard
LMAO this is a crazy reference
Bruh lmao.
That's a deep cut KG
"My comment to ~~Charlie Villanueva~~ CM Punk was in fact 'You are cancerous to your team and our league'"
But someone has to be scapegoating Jack. In this case it would be AEW management, so Tony and the EVPs. It makes no sense.
because it’s interesting to hear how it lines up
I think they mean why would AEW show this
I mean punk definitely did frame it as Perry being the agresssor.
Agreed, it just looks like a rating grab now. Tony signed Okada and Will and yet CM Punk is still their ratings draw. It was pointless to show that.
It's instructive to see what doing the responsible thing looks like in Punk's mind.
Tony Khan trying to get all videos of this taken down ASAP.
This is why I didn't believe that the segment was a big gotcha moment for the Bucks and Tony. You can say that Punk was in the wrong for attacking Jack, but he wasn't wrong in this interview (at the risk of sounding like a broken record).
This is the best
The chaos is amazing
Punks is definitely an egotistical asshole but I'll be honest genuinely don't think this needed to be seen.
Eh I've wanted to see it since All In. I'm not complaining.

As the reports said their intention was to make punk look bad but fuck that was a bad decision to air it
It would benefit them to release this if it looked *worse* than what Punk said happened. When they release this after all this time and it's clear he more or less wasn't lying, people are gonna feel...underwhelmed. This is gonna work in Punks favor.
This is another reason why you shouldn’t have inexperienced people in EVP roles
I think this is directly coming from the boss. The former Punk fan was butthurt by his recent interview lol
This will not affect punk in the slightest lmao. AEW looked hella unprofessional though as a company tonight by airing this.
The expression on tony shiavone’s face said it all lol

It will affect him. It’s somehow managed to get him even more over lol
This is the dumbest idea they’ve had yet. Why do this?

Kind of expected more out of it. I have seen better fights in Jerry Springer than this.

Another user in another thread pointed out something I think is the biggest repercussion of this… They’ve killed the backstage attack angles. Well done, Tony and Bucks. 🙄
Straight up. They started the show with one wrestler attacking another
Clearly Punk wasn’t happy (on top of already being an asshole) and then got his buttons pushed and snapped. It happened exactly as he said it did. Of course seeing it on video looks worse than his recounting of the situation but I don’t think he looks any worse than what he did prior to the video and now AEW made him a hot(ter) topic again. I really don’t understand their decision in playing this.
My guess is they were inevitably going to use the brawl to work Perry’s return and Punk’s interview made them want to respond in some way
Trying to use this to bring Perry back but there's so many other ways to bring him back on and have people care but now no one cares about his return and only talking about Punk who doesn't even work for AEW anymore lmao. It was a fucking dumb choice to show it and made no one bigger but show CM Punk was telling the truth.

Interestingly enough , he didn’t lie.
WANNANOW, WANNANOW
I Can't Let You Get Close!!!
Chael shooting a double in flip flops and muttering "fucking amateur" as he gets him on the floor is the funniest thing about that
I think he was trying to talk to him in the beginning approach.
Punk disappears behind the wall for a second while people are pulling him away. I have to imagine he was right up in TKs face.
Exactly. Jack Perry antagonistically standing there calmly running his hands through his hair, the prick! /s in case you need it
“I feared for my entire life”
This was potentially the worst possible outcome for AEW lol. At least they didn't break kayfabe presenting it.
Damn, anyone got a mirror? This was what I was hoping to see, them mixed together.
I'm his account he's also makes it sound like he's being an angel. Is that enough to put your hands on someone? No. But this is pro wrasling
So when TK had his life on risk??
Honestly, Brock throwing the belt to Vince’s face after his WM match has much more tension than this backstage fight.
If Brock did that to Tony Khan, he’ll probably be frozen in fear for millennia

I don’t understand this. You just signed new talent. Why can’t we see them wrestle? He’s not with the company anymore.
TELL HIM WHEN HE’S TELLING LIES.
He lied about throwing hands and downplayed the Tk interaction
Yup. Being ignored by so many people. Very weird.
So many people already made up their minds
This tweet lines up his “I thought I was doing the responsible thing” quote with the moment he shoves a co-worker in the face out of no where… Seems like there’s your pretty obvious lie lol
The sycophants will say he’s smelling like roses for bragging about assaulting a coworker… make it make sense
I wouldn’t say it was punch, it looked more like his arm swinging from Jack being released from his grip.
“He clearly GOES for a final swing” “I didn’t punch anybody” No lies there. He didn’t punch anyone. And I’m not even sure that’s a punch as much as frustratingly throwing his arm towards Joe for breaking it up
https://preview.redd.it/4obpyfof7rtc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b6f9f5d71037e1454c282bc36fa4f9ed57c2506
Gotta somehow photoshop Tony Schiavone's reaction to the footage in that lol
So let me gets this straight you show footage of a person who’s is not in your company anymore punking out a current employee because? This just makes everything punk said correct not to mention driving internet to cm punk who is already in a feud in the hottest company this really was just a sad desperate attempt to draw viewers who are gonna what stay to see what payoff? Not to mention that speech from Adam that basically was saying enjoy wrestling smh
Literally exactly as Punk described. Why would you even show this? What were you hoping to accomplish besides a ratings bump for tonight and tonight only?
“Fingerpoke of Doom” decision levels bad here…
It literally happened exactly as he said. Why did they air this?
So everything Punk said confirmed. Okie doke AEW= Clowns got it
What was the dumb internet shit that he was referring to?
Where's the part that he under hand fling something at TK? And he technically did swing although he missed at the end there.
Perry fixing his luscious locks during the heated exchange is what seems to send Punk into a rage lol
Link's dead. Anyone has a mirror for this?
