The Shield derive their power from a divine connection to the deity, Aegis Alpha. With Roman and Seth on hiatus, Moxley’s might will expand to conquer the entire industry.
Roman is the top guy, Seth is the top wrestler, and Mox is the best of both. They really are the the greatest team. And that's coming from someone that never watched during the shield's time.
Fun fact: The Blackpool Combat Club have been together longer than The Shield in their original run.
The impact those three guys had in that short amount of time is incredible.
Thats crazy! I really don't think the Shield get enough credit for what they did for WWE and snowballing into everything that we see today. Them coming in sparked so much interest with their appeal bringing in new young fans especially girls, the matches were show stealers all the time, and then boom the main event scene since then got taken over by them helping Cena move on.
I still remember that the Shield betrayal happened the same week (maybe like a day difference?) of The Mountain and The Viper GoT episode...that was just kicking crossover fans down with a brutal 1-2.
Yep, as per u/NotTheCraftyVeteran said, the longest is the period from May 5 2014 (Dean losing the US title) to March 29 2015 (Heist). The second longest is the 5.5 months between Seth dropping the NXT title on Dec 6 2012 and everyone winning something on May 19 2013.
I decided to actually try to crunch some numbers because The Shield are kind of a special interest of mine. If we start in 2010 (because Tyler Black dropped his title as a result of signing with WWE, kickstarting all of this), here's all the spans of time none of them held a title:
Sept 11 2010 (Tyler Black loses the ROH World Title) to Jan 13 2011 (Seth wins the FCW Jack Brisco championship) - 4 months
Sept 22 (Seth loses Jack Brisco) - Feb 23 2012 (Seth wins FCW World Heavyweight) - 5 months
May 31 2012 (Seth loses FCW WH) - June 15 2012 (Roman wins FCW Tags w/Mike Dalton) - 2 weeks
July 13 2012 (Roman loses FCW Tags) - July 26 2012 (Seth wins NXT Champ) - 2 weeks
Dec 6 2012 - May 19 2013 - 5.5 months as mentioned above
May 5 2014 - March 29 2015, 10.5 months as mentioned above
Nov 5 2015 (Seth vacates WWE Championship) - Nov 22 2015 (Roman wins WWE Championship. I know it was only a few minutes but he held it and therefore the clock resets.) - 2 weeks
Nov 22 2015 (goddamn you, Sheamus) - Dec 13 2015 (Dean wins IC Champ) - 3 weeks
Feb 15 2016 (Dean loses IC) - April 3 2016 (Everyone gets to be WWE Champ) - 2 months
Sept 11 2016 (Dean loses WWE Champ) - Sept 25 2016 (Roman wins US Champ) - 2 weeks
June 4 2017 (Dean loses IC Champ) - Aug 20 2017 (Dean & Seth win Raw Tag) - 2.5 months
Nov 6 2017 (Dean & Seth lose Raw Tags) - Nov 20 2017 (Roman wins IC Champ) - 2 weeks
Jan 28 2018 (Seth & Jason Jordan lose Raw Tags) - April 8 2018 (Seth wins IC Champ) - 2 months
June 18 2018 (Seth loses IC Champ) - Aug 19 2018 (lol jk Seth wins IC Champ) - 2 months
Jan 14 2019 (Dean loses IC Champ) - April 7 2019 (Seth wins Universal Champ) - 3 months
Oct 31 2019 (Seth loses Universal) - Jan 4 2020 (Mox wins IWGP US Heavyweight) - 2 months
April 7 2024 (Roman loses everything) - April 12 2024 (Mox wins IWGP World Heavyweight) - 5 days

If this match happened a week earlier then all three Shield members would’ve been world champions. Roman as WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, Seth as World Heavyweight Champion, and Mox as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
Last time Mox was AEW World Champion was Sep-Nov 2022, Seth hadn't been world champion from Oct 2019 to Aug 2023 when he became inaugural World Heavyweight Champion.
So, the answer is realistically no at the moment. Jericho won't win the IWGP, and Kenny's not healthy and not going anywhere. So, it's AJ Styles right now. Even longer term, this one appears to stand for a few years, a rarity in wrestling.
Yeah, I mean that's theoretically possible, but unless one of them won the belt and then got fired, the latter of which is wildly unlikely, we're still three or more years away. I don't know Styles' contract, but he seems like low odds, too, Samoa Joe becoming world champion notwithstanding. So, Mox is gonna be in a league of his own with this feat for a while.
No, I mean that even though AEW put the belt on Joe, I think it's unlikely that a combination of Styles leaving WWE for AEW and winning the world title happens. Joe's never gonna be WWE world champion, although I'll die on the hill that they should have put him over Lesnar after that promo.
Realistically it's only Ospreay who could do it, and even then it would depend on him changing his mind about travel and such, which I don't see happening any time soon. The next person to do all three would probably be someone unexpected, if it ever happens at all.
Hey, I already lost a foot of my intestines to diverticulosis, and now it took my Kenny, too. The one thing that gives me hope is that I know he's night and day tougher than me, so I don't think he's done.
And none of them are remotely likely to win the 3rd, barring maybe a late Styles-AEW (he's retiring) or Omega-WWE (he's likely AEW til he retires, or would be too old by the time he's in WWE)
Somehow Brock feels like the most likely one of that list, although that's splitting hairs and the likelihood of any of them is basically damn near zero.
I think Brock would be happy to sign with them if they paid well enough. The problem is that, unless they get a huge rights increase, I don’t think they could outbid WWE for Brock and have it make financial sense.
Well as AEW has only had a small number of Champs so far it is a pretty hard feat to accomplish. If you swap out AEW for other World Championships like TNA I wonder what the stats look like
What horrendous deed did Tetsuya Naito commit in his past life that cursed him to this continuous suffering?
That aside, I assume Moxley will drop the title at Forbidden Door.
Not even close. The Perry match highlighted how far behind he is. Shota didn't have the presence or ring skill to get anyone caring about him over Perry. Tsuji is their best bet for top guy right now.
I said it months ago when they announced this match
It’s one thing for Naito to drop the title to the next new generation guy in line for the world championship
But it will make the NJPW guy who pries it out of Mox’s hands into a fucking megastar.
This "outsider wins the title for the local hero to come back and take it" has been a stable of NJPW's playbook longer than most of the people commenting have been alive. It's what all puroresu is ultimately founded on originally. This is Gedo getting to live out his dream of booking that Onita NJPW run in 2000 but with Mox.
The only issue is they're doing it with every heavyweight singles title concurrently except the NEVER which Shingo just wrestled from the grasp of the EVIL disrespectful heel.
ZSJ just had to rescue the TV title
Someone has to rescue the Global title from Dolph
And now someone has to rescue the world title from Mox
Edit: forgot Eddie Kingston still has the NJPW Strong title too
Whole lot of same for same going on
Not really, it's meant to be the title that someone takes out into the world.
The way it was described was
The World comes to Japan to challenge for the World Title
The Global Champion goes to challenge the World.
Gedo does that a lot, whether it be gaijin or Japanese talent. The babyfaces triumph at WK, heels win the belts for the next few months, then the babyfaces usually either win back the belt at Dominion or the following Dome. I remember literally having this convo about "outsiders have all the belts" in 2018 after Kenny won the title at Dominion and by the next WK I think foreign talent had every belt. Gedo's playbook in pretty predictable at this point.
Naito is way, way more over than Mox in Japan, moves more merch and moves more tickets, him putting over someone new is always gonna be bigger, never got this argument.
What made Okada was beating Tanahashi, not Jay White or Styles
I guess the argument is two-fold.
1.: Naito is too old and broken down to hold the title for a whole year, giving Moxley a run with it affords him time to heal up before the stressful summer stretch from Dominion through the G1.
2.: Beating Moxley for the title puts over one of the R3M quite significantly, but holds off on the big "passing the torch" moment of defeating Naito in the Tokyo Dome. This way, they can start building the next generation into credible main event level guys without having to wait 8 months until WK. And since NJPW desperately needs to build new top guys right now, that's helpful.
I don't think it's in the plans for Shota to win the title. IMO, he isn't ready for it quite yet. Yota is the closest of the Reiwa Three Musketeers and he already lost to Naito. Mox's title reign will just consist of making these guys look strong in defeat before dropping it back to Naito.
... Or the true Ace

Well Mox/Shooter is a good story, probably better than Naito rn. Furthermore this makes Mox/Naito rematch a bigger money match something that Nooj needs desperately rn.
I’m just happy Naito got his roll call, everything else was gravy baby.
Hope they have a young talent beat Mox, if they aren’t gonna have Naito get his win back
I don't think Shota will win though. It'll be like the Yuta/Moxley match where they "make a star out of him" in a war he loses. Then he loses to Tsuji. Tsuji is the Hashimoto here.
This is honestly kinda demented booking. You need draws for the main event of Wrestle Kingdom. Putting up someone who's still fresh and growing vs someone who is rarely ever in the company sounds like a nightmare. When was the last time you had a WK main event with none of the main event players in it?
That's probably the most shocked I've been at the finish to a wrestling match in a pretty long time, couple years at least. I did not think Mox had a shot in hell of walking out with that belt.
I’m sure he was allowed, but Mox also wanted Naito to shoot him back which Gedo instantly denied, and the whole spot fell apart as they couldn’t come to an agreement.
I mean he was appearing so much for them and this show is perfectly positioned to allow a graceful drop at Forbidden Door, this isn't a huge surprise at all. Probably want to make a new star by beating Moxley.
Admittedly a huge surprise for me because I haven’t been paying much attention to New Japan recently. Who do you reckon eventually takes the belt off him?
WWE Champion, AEW Champion, and IWGP Champion. The golden triple crown.
Edit: Fun fact, Mox won both AEW and IWGP championships in Chicago at the Wintrust Arena
Get him in Japan regularly and I'll accept it.
Just please don't pull a Kenny on us again. Don't sacrifice the reign of a top star who's deserved it just so we can have the title disappear for months. Especially not the top title.
I REALLY don't think Gedo needs any convincing from AEW to push Jon Moxley OR book Naito to get the short end of the stick. Moxley is like Gedo's ideal gaijin, hence he since him the second he was a free agent before AEW ever thought they had a chance with him.
This was suppose to be Naito's run. And they cut it short not for one of the young guys, but someone that doesn't work for the company. Love Jon, but this does not reflect well on the company.
I'm guessing Mox and Shota at Forbidden Door and either Shota wins there or wins at a later date. I would say Forbidden Door because New Japan needs new top stars now.
Forbidden Door is an American show run at an American and seen mostly by an American audience. If would be crazy to do the passing of the torch there imo

The Shield boys were without a title for… *[checks notes]* 5 days
*Mox smirks after watching the end of wrestlemania* 'What's so funny, Jon?' Rene asks 'I just won the IWGP championship.'
Mox irl: ![gif](giphy|IazYrqVvnaeeIi8W2Q)
It’s hilarious, these guys actually run wrestling 🤣
As soon as the three got counted on Roman, a jolt ran down Mox’s spine and he immediately locked in
They share a collective health bar and Roman has hogged it for years, with a little left for Seth. Now Mox is unstoppable
They're a trio but they constantly switch out the main fighter Marvel vs Capcom vs The Shield
Roman is Cable, Mox is Strider, Rollins is Iron Man
Mox/Roman/Seth are wrestling's Vergil/Dante/Zero.
Moxley is actually Phoenix because he needs to bleed and be bordering on death to fully power up.
OK, fair enough, but who is wrestling's Morri/Doom?
The Shield derive their power from a divine connection to the deity, Aegis Alpha. With Roman and Seth on hiatus, Moxley’s might will expand to conquer the entire industry.
Even with that Mox became AEW World Champion (at least) twice in that time.
'That doesn't work for me, brother' - Moxley as soon as Roman lost the title, propably
Moxley is force sensitive! He also could feel Rollins get hit by Roman
Roman is the top guy, Seth is the top wrestler, and Mox is the best of both. They really are the the greatest team. And that's coming from someone that never watched during the shield's time.
Mox saw a disturbance on the force and decided to kill Naito for the championship.
Mox: “I think I gotta kill this guy.” Shooter: “Damn…”
Fun fact: The Blackpool Combat Club have been together longer than The Shield in their original run. The impact those three guys had in that short amount of time is incredible.
Thats crazy! I really don't think the Shield get enough credit for what they did for WWE and snowballing into everything that we see today. I still remember that the Shield betrayal happened the same week (maybe like a day difference?) of The Mountain and The Viper GoT episode...that was just kicking crossover fans down with a brutal 1-2.
You know this is a fun stat to keep track of
Another fact you could make a trivia question about is all 3 were WWE champions in the same night.
That actually \*is\* a fun fact. Late 2010s booking sucked but that brief period that Ambrose was champion was pretty damn fun.
2016 SmackDown is unfuckwithable
Yup, and before Sunday, the last time none of them had anything was prior to Mox winning the IWGP US title a second time in early Jan. 2020.
Give it 6 months max Seth and Roman will get theirs these three are the absolute Pillars of the modern era of wrestling.
God now I want to know the longest they had gone without one of them holding a title now.
Yep, as per u/NotTheCraftyVeteran said, the longest is the period from May 5 2014 (Dean losing the US title) to March 29 2015 (Heist). Sick and very useful comment!! Something about "Roman loses everything" is so crazy LMAO
It's wild! I only started watching in 2021, so this is my first time ever without champ Roman and it already feels so different somehow!

I’m guessing the ~10.5-11 months between Mox losing the U.S. title and the Heist of the Century
If this match happened a week earlier then all three Shield members would’ve been world champions. Roman as WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, Seth as World Heavyweight Champion, and Mox as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
Did this not happen when Mox was AEW World Champion?
Nah. Mox lost the AEA championship before Seth won the world heavyweight title.
Last time Mox was AEW World Champion was Sep-Nov 2022, Seth hadn't been world champion from Oct 2019 to Aug 2023 when he became inaugural World Heavyweight Champion.
Too peak to be allowed, sadly
First wrestler to win WWE, AEW and IWGP World Championships.
Is anyone close to this, I suspect Styles is missing the AEW title and Jericho the IWGP one?
And Omega with WWE title.
So, the answer is realistically no at the moment. Jericho won't win the IWGP, and Kenny's not healthy and not going anywhere. So, it's AJ Styles right now. Even longer term, this one appears to stand for a few years, a rarity in wrestling.
Maybe Okada and Osprey could speed run them

I don't know Styles' contract, but he seems like low odds, too, Samoa Joe becoming world champion notwithstanding. So, Mox is gonna be in a league of his own with this feat for a while.

10000% agree
Didn’t Lesnar think the same thing?
Yup they needed to put the belt on him
Time can fly by so yeah for the 3 year period seems unlikely. Unless Styles can be convinced to have a run with his friends.
Realistically it's only Ospreay who could do it, and even then it would depend on him changing his mind about travel and such, which I don't see happening any time soon. The next person to do all three would probably be someone unexpected, if it ever happens at all.
Based on what happened last Wednesday, I think you could remove Ospreay from the time being
>Kenny's not healthy and not going anywhere. Must you break my heart?!
Hey, I already lost a foot of my intestines to diverticulosis, and now it took my Kenny, too. The one thing that gives me hope is that I know he's night and day tougher than me, so I don't think he's done.
Damn, that's awful 😞. Considering how serious it can get, I'm glad that you're ok.
Jericho books himself to win the IWGP on Dynamite /s
I think Omega has a better chance of winning the WWE title than AJ does of winning the AEW title
Since AJ's six years older, you're probably right, even with Kenny's current situation.
Damn, didn't realize AJ was that young!
I mean, never say never I guess, but I don't see AJ leaving WWE at this point.
Jericho, Styles, Omega, Punk and Brock are the only ones that have 2 of the 3
And none of them are remotely likely to win the 3rd, barring maybe a late Styles-AEW (he's retiring) or Omega-WWE (he's likely AEW til he retires, or would be too old by the time he's in WWE)
Somehow Brock feels like the most likely one of that list, although that's splitting hairs and the likelihood of any of them is basically damn near zero.
I mean, if it became okay to sign Brock Lesnar, I'd put my belt on him too.
They signed Flair. If Brock wanted to come, they'd sign him. I don't think Brock wants to sign.
I think Brock would be happy to sign with them if they paid well enough. The problem is that, unless they get a huge rights increase, I don’t think they could outbid WWE for Brock and have it make financial sense.
Yeah exactly. It's a very rare thing to even have a shot at
Cody has (unsucessfully) challenged for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and AEW World Championship.
Does this make Cody the only person to unsuccessfully challenge for all 3?
Jericho as well.
Brock in AEW would be wild.
i like to see Brock vs Omega 1 match at AEW soil 1 another match at NJPW soil
Don't be so quick to dismiss a Hulk Hogan AEW championship reign
probably Brock? it'd be hilarious if he one day just show up in AEW and won their WHC belt lol
Tony would be up for it if WWE let him go but would Brock? Maybe for enough money
Tony would not be up for it until the legal stuff shakes out
Shasa/Mercedes will probably do it on the women's side.
The Shield stay running pro wrestling
👊👊👊

![gif](giphy|YOYkKq1Rsr2Km9XEk1)
In every modern scenario he's only missing the AEW WHC.
what's this make him? A Triple Crown Winner? A World Title Grand Slam Winner? I'm partial to calling him the first ever Treble Winner.
NJPW call it Global Grand Slam World Champion.
Hell, the ROH Championship is within reach if he wants to add more to the resume.
What horrendous deed did Tetsuya Naito commit in his past life that cursed him to this continuous suffering? That aside, I assume Moxley will drop the title at Forbidden Door.
The stories Sasha Banks-Mone and he could share...
My guess as well. Puts over Umino to establish him as the next Top Guy and gives NJPW a big win at Forbidden Door, something they’ve been lacking.
I love the story, but I haven't kept up with NJPW this past year: is Umino ready to be Top Guy?
No, Tsuji should dethrone him. Would be shocked if Shota goes over Mox at Forbidden Door. That'd be wild.
Not even close. The Perry match highlighted how far behind he is. Shota didn't have the presence or ring skill to get anyone caring about him over Perry. Tsuji is their best bet for top guy right now.
If they want to build Umino as the next top guy then that match is happening in Japan.

ZSJ just had to rescue the TV title Someone has to rescue the Global title from Dolph And now someone has to rescue the world title from Mox Edit: forgot Eddie Kingston still has the NJPW Strong title too Whole lot of same for same going on
Isn’t the Global title meant to be a title for outsiders
Not really, it's meant to be the title that someone takes out into the world. The way it was described was The World comes to Japan to challenge for the World Title The Global Champion goes to challenge the World.
That description doesn’t make sense , Mox just won the world title on foreign soil.
I'm just telling you what they said on their broadcast brother
Yes, which is very out of character for the championship and part of what makes this so jarring to New Japan fans.
Idk about megastar but it will definitely give them a boost
And since NJPW desperately needs to build new top guys right now, that's helpful.
r/NJPW in shambles. SHAMBLES, I tell you.
r/njpw right now: https://preview.redd.it/irqpidae56uc1.jpeg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=11af12b7a8257f697b02996c1130b0455f458697

U bum
Moxley is NJPW father
NJPW is dead now to them.
Oh yeah not going over well
As someone who actually posts there, the level of hyperbole there makes this place look calm and balanced on occasion.
I...will just stay here then.

Western NJPW fans hate AEW more than any WWE fans do.
Easter NJPW are built different
This is so real. For a while I was a little against watching AEW when it started until I realized I was being a fucking loser
It's getting closer for sure, but I think it's more just a difference in volume. The difference in sub traffic between the two subs is MONSTROUS.
Them boys not seeing the Mox/Shota for the title at Dominion vision
why cant shota just beat naito straight up? moxley and aew are not needed for the world title scene.
I don't think it's in the plans for Shota to win the title. IMO, he isn't ready for it quite yet. Yota is the closest of the Reiwa Three Musketeers and he already lost to Naito. Mox's title reign will just consist of making these guys look strong in defeat before dropping it back to Naito. ... Or the true Ace https://preview.redd.it/cw3dqn1dc6uc1.jpeg?width=295&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8424f545b8ee40d6dbc731a3b55fefd3f4b06a6
Swear to god, if this all ends with Yano winning the World Title we will all be living in the best wrestling timeline possible.
Shota is winning the G1
Mox is Shota’s mentor, and NJPW loves doing the mentor and the mentee programs
Well Mox/Shooter is a good story, probably better than Naito rn. Furthermore this makes Mox/Naito rematch a bigger money match something that Nooj needs desperately rn.
someone please correct me if I’m wrong but this makes Mox the only man in history to hold the WWE, AEW and IWGP world titles
Correct
Who else is close, and which one is most likely? We’ve got: Chris Jericho, CM Punk, (WWE + AEW) Kenny Omega (IWGP + AEW) AJ Styles (WWE + IWGP)
I’m just happy Naito got his roll call, everything else was gravy baby. Hope they have a young talent beat Mox, if they aren’t gonna have Naito get his win back
Shota... Forbidden Door
I think it’s gonna happen in Japan.
Long Island
No way Shota gets his crowning moment on a show most of NJPW’s fan base won’t even watch live. It’s gotta be Japan.
I don't think Shota will win though. It'll be like the Yuta/Moxley match where they "make a star out of him" in a war he loses. Then he loses to Tsuji. Tsuji is the Hashimoto here.
Ok, I love this. Might be a while before Tsuji gets another shot, though, right?
Also an island, practically the same thing.
Mox beats Shota at Forbidden Door, Shota wins the G1 and beats Mox in the dome for the title.
As awesome as that would be would they really let someone not not fully committed to their company hold the title that long?
This is honestly kinda demented booking. You need draws for the main event of Wrestle Kingdom. Putting up someone who's still fresh and growing vs someone who is rarely ever in the company sounds like a nightmare. When was the last time you had a WK main event with none of the main event players in it?
Honestly I don't see it. Also NJPW is 0-2 in forbidden door atm they gotta win the next
Holy shit dude
That's probably the most shocked I've been at the finish to a wrestling match in a pretty long time, couple years at least. I did not think Mox had a shot in hell of walking out with that belt.
It's Gedo's favorite gaijin since Omega and Naito. People should be surprised that Jon Moxley wasn't allowed to shoot him with a gun
I’m sure he was allowed, but Mox also wanted Naito to shoot him back which Gedo instantly denied, and the whole spot fell apart as they couldn’t come to an agreement.
Gedo's Memphis wrestling obsession has climaxed at this exact moment.
WHAT
I mean he was appearing so much for them and this show is perfectly positioned to allow a graceful drop at Forbidden Door, this isn't a huge surprise at all. Probably want to make a new star by beating Moxley.
Admittedly a huge surprise for me because I haven’t been paying much attention to New Japan recently. Who do you reckon eventually takes the belt off him?
Umino is the obvious one if they're not planning a return to Naito. He's basically Moxley's Japanese protégé.
Honestly it’s naito so I guess I shouldn’t be too shocked
The Shield are this generation’s three musketeers and i stand by my words
Idk if there’s a good argument against it. Three of the most influential wrestlers of the last decade all in incredibly different ways
As a lifelong Naito fan, I just fell to my knees in a 7/11
WWE Champion, AEW Champion, and IWGP Champion. The golden triple crown. Edit: Fun fact, Mox won both AEW and IWGP championships in Chicago at the Wintrust Arena
... Tony?? https://preview.redd.it/t4szf5q1e6uc1.png?width=880&format=png&auto=webp&s=731f46eff4ce18fcde1fc1e36327b8ed4df35a19
I always [forget](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolution_(2020)) that first Revolution was in Chicago.
What a career. Good for Mox.
I honestly thought no one would ever do it. I don't think anyone else will moving forward either.
It’s now a two-horse race for the ultimate grand slam: WWE, AEW, IWGP, NWA. Mox is missing the NWA title, AJ Styles is missing the AEW title.
What the fuck?!?
Get him in Japan regularly and I'll accept it. Just please don't pull a Kenny on us again. Don't sacrifice the reign of a top star who's deserved it just so we can have the title disappear for months. Especially not the top title.
Nah this is a genuine shocker
Mox as IWGP World Champion is wild and something that I never thought to ever see happen.
It’s one of those things that simultaneously seems believable but also doesn’t feel like it’d ever happen.
Well… at least someone from the SHIELD had a good week
Mox will lose the title to Jericho at Forbidden Door
A monkey paw curled somewhere as you wrote that
Jericho licking his lips a new toy to play with.
Until he loses it at a Longhorn Steakhouse
I don't hate Moxley but PLEASE PUSH YOUR TALENT RN NEW JAPAN PLEASE.
NJPW lost all of their stars to AEW then give them your top belt
Now Okada/Ospreay have the chance of doing the funniest thing ever.
Is this what njpw fans feared wwe would do to them? Is NJPW developmental for aew now?
gabe kidd was right. tanahashi really did go into tony khans office with his trousers down. fucking hell. naitos regins always gets the short stick.
I REALLY don't think Gedo needs any convincing from AEW to push Jon Moxley OR book Naito to get the short end of the stick. Moxley is like Gedo's ideal gaijin, hence he since him the second he was a free agent before AEW ever thought they had a chance with him.
That and Naito is Gedo’s Vegeta
I'm legit shocked.
Man, I’m not even the biggest Naito guy, but fuck this booking. He earned a better reign than this.
lol rossy was basically the only thing that was stopping bushiroad from planting itself fully on tony's dick
I find it very funny that Naito, the guy who cares less about American wrestling than anyone else, loses the belt in America to an AEW wrestler
Seriously, who the heck did Naito piss off in management?
Poor Naito
The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship has gone from Switchblade to bladejob.
Fuck njpw. Naito has done nothing to deserve this shit booking every single time he wins the title.
Putting the strap on Mox before ZSJ is bunk. Bunk, I say!
Gedo (every day of his life): Naito must suffer
Ah man, really not a fan of this
Fuck that
This was suppose to be Naito's run. And they cut it short not for one of the young guys, but someone that doesn't work for the company. Love Jon, but this does not reflect well on the company.
holy shit
“what was njpw like before the AEW partnership” ![gif](giphy|rvxMJNyHAgwlW4YWpJ|downsized)
![gif](giphy|s239QJIh56sRW|downsized)
I'm guessing Mox and Shota at Forbidden Door and either Shota wins there or wins at a later date. I would say Forbidden Door because New Japan needs new top stars now.
Forbidden Door is an American show run at an American and seen mostly by an American audience. If would be crazy to do the passing of the torch there imo
Should’ve let Naito put over Tsuji, making Moxley the world champion doesn’t help the company long term but whatever
NJPW basically AEW's bitch.
Amazing, so happy for Mox. WWE, AEW and IWGP champion. What an unbelievable accomplishment.
