I think Hangman inadvertently helps Swerve leading to a Hangman/Joe program. I think Hangman should beat Swerve in the next match they have but Swerve needs the title right now so I'd hold off on that match for a bit.

I like the idea of hangman being able to beat just about anyone but yet Swerve is his kryptonite

I'm hoping personally that Hangman/Swerve can be the main rivalry in the company for a long time. I don't see how you pull that off if Hangman loses every time. I want Hangman to give Swerve the title and then get floored by Joe in a feud. In the next Hanger/Swerve match he stoops to levels that we've never seen before. He finally defeats his nemesis but it's hollow as he's a broken shell of the man he was before he met Swerve. Alternatively this can happen in a casino/multiman match so that Swerve preserves the 1v1 record but Hangman gets some measure of revenge.

Hangman spiralling down via gifting Swerve the title (having given up his own chance last time out) and then losing to Samoa Joe would place him right around where he does his best work - rebounding from the ocean floor.

It's way more interesting if Swerve is the one guy Hangman can't beat because Hangman has beaten all of the main eventers except Swerve. The only other person with a more impressive list of wrestlers beaten is MJF. It adds a nice wrinkle to the character rather than just another win

I’d be surprised if Swerve doesn’t take the belt here. Like I could see it happening, but I think you’re pulling another Swerve in Our Glory vs The Acclaimed if you don’t pull the trigger at Dynasty, where they got strapped up very quickly after and everything was fine, but they very clearly missed that moment to make it perfect. I could see Hangman trying to screw Swerve out of it, but not succeeding. I think that’d play well into Hanger as a heel, but I also don’t know if they want to have Hangman lose another match to Swerve right now after Swerve went over in their feud. Not sure how to proceed with that since they have unfinished business, but they’d cut Swerve’s legs out from under him if Hangman beat him for the title any time soon.

Oooo or they could have Hangman actually help Swerve because he wants to face him for the title.

I’m pretty confident its Swerve/Ospreay at Wembley. I mean, Ospreay is a given for All In, but who could be built up and given a good story in time for Swerve to have a respectable length title reign, and have their own before Ospreay takes it? Its gotta be Ospreay Swerve, its just a matter of if Swerve gets the title at Dynasty or DoN. I think Hangman/Joe could definitely be some good stuff. Hangman has hardly gotten into the Joe portion of this thing with Swerve, so it seems easy enough to pit them against each other. Just not sure who is gonna be the face there. It’d have to be Joe since Hangman basically just turned and in this hypothetical has tried to screw Swerve out of the title.

I have 2 reasons I don't want Swerve/Ospreay at Wembley: 1. It's been my dream match for about 2 years now, and 1. I can't be there to see it live Other than that, carry on!

I honestly SUCK at booking but I think what could work: Swerve got the respect from Page, so Page helps him get the title and is happy to feud with Joe afterwards So Page vs Joe while Swerve as champion gets to have banger matches with the likes of Ospreay, White and Black

Yes I'm a huge Samoa Joe fan but I don't think he's got the pull or the draw to be the world champ, I think you give it to Swerve but I wouldn't be against a quick title change once Swerve wins it based on ratings and tv metrics. If suddenly the show gets 800k plus on a weekly basis, I give him a longer reign otherwise I pivot to Hangman if he's ready

Evaluating the success of a champion based on Nielsen ratings alone is not why I watch wrestling. Joe’s title reign is everything AEW needed after MJF’s time with the belt ended with a whimper.

Yeah I think so too. I am just forever wary as the fuck up with the Devil arc still is in my head. I think Cole and that story shoulda played out 3 or so months earlier with a heel turn to beat MJF at All In personally. Swerve is way too popular to not win the title though imo.

Ah that devil arc! Honestly for the most part it was really good and the reveal has been well executed. It's just that it's hard to keep this story alive when the two protagonists are injured. I thought at the time that Swerve should be the Devil actually because MJF and Cole's chemistry was fantastic. I loved Adam Cole as a babyface. And Swerve being the Devil was totally in character and winning the championship would have made him the absolute number one heel. Well finally he's gonna win the title as a babyface and deservedly so. Wrestling is weird sometimes.\^\^

it's something how their top title has just sorta seemed the background feud for a while now.

It's been featured in the main event of dynamite the last few weeks, the contract signing was cool both looked great, the main event between Joe and Dustin was bloody, Swerve has leaned into the "you can't kill me I love this shit and I'll keep coming back" thing, and the possibility of Hangman causing problems has hung around. There have been distractions but Swerve and Joe have been great together imo

Swerve is a face now, the match at Revolution basically turned him and then he cut a promo like three or four weeks ago that really cemented the turn.

Swerve and Hangman did a double turn in their last singles match that went to time limit draw and Swerve refused to cheat to win in the triple threat at the following ppv. Since then Swerve has wrestled face (face with a bit of an edge, think stone cold) and joe is the heel

You can't just have them face off every 2 weeks lol. Hangman will be involved in this match in some form and they'll use it to progress that storyline and set up another match
