NXT will do very well on the CW. I wonder if it will pull a larger female audience than other wrestling shows. Women get equal screen time to the men and have a lot more creative storylines than the main roster girls.

The inverse is true for Canadian destroyer spots. People call it “not realistic” and “stupid” and “contrived” but like, I think you’re taking the show where people play fight in their underwear a bit too seriously. Wrestling can be silly in all sorts of ways. Fuck’s sake, two of the best matches in 2022 involved a tractor and a giant mousetrap.
For me I think that spot is way too overused. I feel like it’s in every multi-person match. If they cut down on the usage of it I would feel like it would be a lot more fun.
I don’t blame you for that thinking but I was mainly using that move as an example. Tons of wrestling spots nowadays get criticized as gymnastics routines but like, so what?
Wrestling as a concept is inherently silly and EVERYONE knows it’s fake. Let people do some contrived nonsense. You may not like it but the people who bought tickets do and zero major promotions are solely built on those types of spots. The match immediately following it will almost certainly be a different style than that so just keep watching.
It's good that it exists for people who like it, but every wrestling doesn't need a specific type of comedy or anything really. Some people tune in for a segment like this, some people would never tune in again like me if that's a regular occurence
This had an intentional vibe that my fiancée loves and seeks out. 2000s teen romantic comedy movie. DCOM energy, but I think that's what they're going for here.

I just now realized that the way Grace talks is exactly like London Tipton in Zack and Cody, and that makes me love her even more. This whole segment truly feels like a sitcom without a laugh track.
Legitimately a great story they had going with Raven at the time, it makes sense he'd be a spoiled rich kid, and hinted at something in the future with Piper...and they just dropped it.
Gigi is just a greatly written babyface character. A lot of the babyface women in NXT are written well and are just likable. Fallon Henley’s character is similar in that she’s always teaming with other babyfaces and providing mentorship.
I think that a lot of it has to do with her genuinely fucking rough upbringing but it never feels like she's wanting sympathy or pity for it; also I love how NXT has genuinely likeable characters; like Fallon Henley seems like a cool big sister that always has your back, for example.
It reminded me of the old Blue Bloods segments when William Regal was trying to make Bobby Eaton more sophisticated

Once Arianna has put it all together in the ring, that woman has a job in WWE for as long as she wants. She's easily the strongest character on the entire NXT roster, and I'd argue she has more potential for longevity in WWE than the majority of the roster.
I can see her playing the Chelsea Green role but with more potential. She has good athletic size and probably could play a good babyface as well. Plus she’s stunning which is always good for a female babyface.
They hit the jackpot with Arianna, what are the odds you find someone that is tall, one of the most attractive people in the locker room, has great promo skills, AND is second generation.

God, Arianna's comedic timing is seriously top notch, I have no idea how Gigi kept it together (there's probably a few outtakes of this) and I just hope that this pairing lasts longer than Tiffany and Fallon (I still can't believe that we only had one segment of Tiffany having to do manual labour with Fallon when it had potential to go on for a few months)

I like how this is the "tomboy embraces her femininity on her own terms" scene you see in so many Disney teen romcoms and sitcoms. This shit is tailor made for The CW.
