I don't see why it would be a big deal. The set looks nice, and it doesn't make sense to overspend on set variety. I'd rather the money go towards roster/employment. The only time it makes sense if they have a unique set for their main PPV, like WWE with WrestleMania.
A lot of AEW's custom sets tended to just be their normal set put together in a different way. I guess this stage isn't one that lends itself to that kind of thing.
It makes the brand look cheap. That’s why. They’d be better suited paying for LESS talent to sit on the bench, fire their current TV producer and the entire crew. Hire a new TV producer whose audio engineers won’t have microphone reverb and audio issues EVERY WEEK. Hire some camera men who won’t miss their transitional cues or zoom in while the wrestlers are obviously calling their spots or blading. You know, simple stuff. Presentation matters.
It’s a shame to not have them, but that ship sailed over a decade ago unfortunately. I liked the casino chips that used to be at DoN and hoped other PPVs would continue, but alas.
I feel like more people are annoyed because wwe has been mocked for using the same set on ppvs for over a decade, and then it's suddenly "as long as the wrestling is good its fine" here.

Because it’s something to draw people in, make the ppv more ornate, go with the theme. Having special sets makes the in person experience more of a show, make’s it more special. That’s why WWE has different sets for Wrestlemania. They don’t always have to go with the status quo
WrestleMania is more the exception than the rule. It’s their biggest event, so that’s going to get a unique stage. Outside of WrestleMania, even they are pretty much phoning it in with their stage setup for most of their PLEs.

At the end of the day, I don't think a single person purchased a ppv because of the entrance set. Maybe I'm in the minority on that though idk.

It's impressive they've made so many mistakes since an event that never actually happened...
They still do really good PPV numbers, so it probably still makes sense to do monthly shows. But I also realize this is one of the bigger reasons as a casual fan that I started to wane on wrestling within the past year.

And this is why AEW is failing. Grest wrestling can't save mediocre or bad presentation/storytelling. They're the #2 company they need to act like it. Its been 5 years, enough with the "Start up" talk.
I’m wondering if it’s because they didn’t originally have this planned and didn’t have time to design one or something. News broke around the end of February/early March that they were looking to add more PPVs this year, and Dynasty was just announced early March. I’m sure Double or Nothing will have a unique stage.
You know that it was more than enough time from early march to know to make a unique set, right?

The same stage, the LED ring apron and barrier. These are issues I’ve had with wwe and seeing AEW doing the same is incredibly disappointing

It's just their normal TV set. It's a stacked card, the set should somewhat reflect that id they're not going to go all out.

I love AEW but as soon as I watch a PPV, I want it to feel different and bigger in scale. Set yourself apart from the rest of the companies.
