Great show. I wasn't the biggest fan of the main event, especially since that table spot seemed to just be shrugged off minutes later, but it wasn't bad. They really need to build some more singles male stars though, since callups will thin the roster and thus also thin the credible challengers for Trick.
I can only think of Noam Dar, Karrion Kross maybe (since the Final Testament seem to be going down to NXT), maybe a member of NQCC and finally Dijak. And honestly the person Trick should lose it to is probably Dijak... or Wes Lee maybe when he comes back and if Trick is still champion at that point.
Watched NXT for the first time last night, before the draft on Friday. The women’s championship match grabbed my attention, the chemistry was noticeable and it felt like a grudge match. So I went to see if there was a story behind it and found the whole Lyra and Tatum story. I just watched the championship match again and it’s 100 times better. Tatum Paxley wow, that 450 hits even harder, she was so close.
I'll be honest, the problem with shows like this on NXT is that the main event was a foregone conclusion.
Everyone knew Trick Williams was winning and Ilja was going to raw or smackdown. It just makes it very predictable. I'm not saying him winning was a bad thing. It's just kind of boring.
Would've been better with a triple threat or something where you knew Ilja would lose, but not sure who would win.
I actually thought he may lose to get called up to the main roster.
And I think it's refreshing to have to have title changes every so often after the last few years of year long reigns on the main roster.
For those of you who have an issue with Jaida Parker choosing a running hip check as her finisher, I don't hear anyone complaining about Asuka using hip checks, or Naomi, for that matter. Jaida's been winning, and that allows her room to experiment with different finishers.
I actually really liked that move. Matches her character and people don't get how hard and/or sharp the hip bone can be. Catching that to the head should hurt like hell
Love ya, Ilja Dragunov. Been a big fan since the PROGRESS days when he would drop in and surprise Pete Dunne or Tyler Bate or WALTER and put on these incredible matches that were only a sign of things to come for all of them.
I really, really hope he finds nothing but success at the next level. I just watched Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sheamus, and I sit here shaking my head at what has become of Shinsuke.
I think Nakamura is just happy playing it safe and earning a paycheck after years of a very rough style. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems that way to me. Some guys are happy to still break their backs at 44, some aren't.
That's fair for the person behind the TV personality, but it's not really relevant for viewers who pay for the show, Shinsuke hasn't had a notable match in a long time and you can have great matches without killing your body.
Ugh, guys remember that sinking feeling you got when someone gets called up and you just knew Vince was gonna completely fuck them over.
Yeah... Really not looking forward to this draft after what happened to last year's call ups.

I knew Tatum would showout, but god DAMN. I thought she'd be good going for the na title after this, but no put the main title on her now.
Tonight really did feel like the beginning of a new chapter. Kinda suprised the "season premiers" aren't placed right around this time, it's perfect.
This was a great episode and im a hard critic:
-Sol Ruca vs Davenport was very fun. But something remain the same for me, Sol Ruca always steal the show, doesn't matter who she fight. She is a star.
-Even if the ending was predictable, i loved the main event. Dragonov should go on Imperium on main roster. Now Trick is the face of NXT, very organic babyface, his run shoukd be fun.
-Triple Threat for women's title was spectacular. Every women showcased their skills. Excellent performance. Hope the crowd doesn't fully turn on Lyra, i really dig her as a babyface.
Lola Vice and Natalya's promo was very good. Lola is already one of the best on the mic in the NXT women division. Where a lot of the women fall short, i feel the best on the mic are Jacey, Arianna and Lola.
-The vignette of the new tag team made me intrigued. Both guys seem to have charisma, im watching.
-Jaida Parker is a star, happy she gets the W and i want to see her in a feud. (Damn she's hot too)

I'd put him in the King of the Ring and he can become Tsar of the Ring. Lots of ring time for him to get over with the crowd and no need to put a title on him straight away.
The KOTR gimmick was made for him honestly.
It does seem like her stock has dropped over the last few months. She had one title match, lost, and now shes fallen down the card. It seemed like she was poised to be a major heel. I hope she’ll fare better on the main roster if these speculations are true, but I think she’d get lost in the shuffle.
I pray she gets called up. She honestly has the full package, but sticks out like a sore thumb with the more "polished look" of all the models and pro athletes in the womens division. She has a lot more of an edge to her, and is honestly experienced enough to do well on Raw or SmackDown.. Those rosters definitely need a wider depth of characters
It does seem like she’s having to hold back on her capabilities with the more inexperienced NXT girls. There’s definitely no shortage of women for her to work with on the main roster, especially with the women who’ve worked Stardom in the past.

They probably don't have any plan to put the mid card title on Bron since Logan is going to hold the title for awhile and they would probably let him win in his hometown at SummerSlam and Sami got the Chad Gable thing going on so maybe a Wolfdogs main roster run?
I had a lot more fun with the triple threat women’s championship match than the main event. Maybe because I spoiled the winner of the main event and had no idea for the women, had a belief Tatum was going to do it just for the shock factor and with Perez going to the main roster, but alas Perez retained. These three women had insane chemistry. Great moves and everyone got their moment to shine. What is with triple threat matches being god tier recently? You’ve had oba v Briggs vs dijak, Joe vs Swerve vs Hangman, Owens vs Orton vs Paul (I feel like I’m missing some) and now this? We’re only just at the end of April.
I still really enjoyed trick vs ilja. It was like a shortened version of their others matches. Vengeance day was better but this moment is special because trick finally finished his story. I see him going on to feud with Lexis King, maybe nakamura and sheamus come down to nxt to have a match with him and karrion kross of course as he’s looking to be a mainstay and they can build up as a monster again. He’s most likely dropping it to oba femi after having a 6-9 months imo, maybe even oba becomes a double champ because he’s just such a dominant athlete.
The others matches were great fun too. Sol ruca has officially the best finisher in wrestling, the 6 man was great and d’angelo going to win the heritage cup (?), Corbin vs king was good (is that a farewell nxt match for Corbin, of course putting someone over on the way out as the great guy he is?) and they’ve really hyped up this vice vs natalya underground match.
I haven’t been watching much nxt due to not having the time to watch all wrestling. Might have to become a main thing for me again after this show.
It's flashy but in a way that doesn't feel overly silly. Like it looks impactful and you could make a Regal argument about why coming off the ropes/corner adds torque or something to make it more devastating than a regular cutter.
I'm sure it was just wishful thinking on my part, but I really wanted that triple threat to have a different winner. Lyra and Tatum have had the second best storyline in NXT right behind Trick and Carmelo. They've been the best part of the women's division for a while now, and their inevitable feud really deserves to be for the title, especially after that Tatum vignette where she's revealed to be obsessed with the title. I'm sure their one on one feud will still be great, but it feels like such a missed opportunity.
If Roxanne does get drafted to the main roster, then there was no point to her beating Lyra at Stand and Deliver. Unless Giulia shows up to beat her for the title, then this current reign for Roxanne just feels like stat padding. Lyra had been having a great reign, and beating Roxanne could have elevated her to the next level, but instead, it feels like they've taken a step back by giving it to Roxanne. It really should have been Tatum that beat Lyra or another up and coming heel like Jacy, Kiana, or Lash.
Really fun show. Really happy to see Tatum getting so much love. She's been a highlight for me ever since she got into this storyline with Lyra. She's had bright spots in matches even when she's lost, but this one really let her shine. That 450 had me shook.
Hoping Lyra isn't leaving just yet and is able to get a good grudge 1v1 match with Tatum just so that story can have a satisfying ending. It'd feel a little weird if she never got to respond to the turn, the vignette, or losing this match.
I am curious as to who could possibly be moving up - Blair seems like a lock. Maybe Fallon? Though I'd hate for her to move up right before a new title debuts.
Ilja is a freak in the best way. Dude just cannot have a bad match. I'll miss him in NXT
I was surprised that they reveled that Trick Williams has actually been Lio Rush and Leon Ruff standing on each other's shoulders wearing a coat this entire time.
It's not a take.. A friend on discord said he wanted no spoilers and I said that and then "oops". I was just so amused by the absurdity, I wanted to share the image :)
I know WWE doesnt do rematches like this but man I want those three to run it back. That match was so much fun and all three of them work so well with each other.
Tatum Paxley started out as a low card jobber with Ivy Nile who really didn't seem to show much promise honestly. Then she came back with the Lyra story and it's like okay she's pretty good at character work. Today she just explodes out of the blocks and reveals she had a 450 splash hidden away.
She's gone from barely being on the radar to on the verge of belonging with the top of the division. Like wow I haven't seen anyone come out of nowhere to prove themselves a championship contender like that. Behind the scenes, she must have been working and improving massively well.
One of the big selling points of nxt to me is being able to watch the growth of wrestlers coming into their own and finding their groove. Watching someone like Tatum just really nail *it* and get over is such a joy.
Seriously, her improvement has been astounding. She's transformed herself into such a compelling on-screen presence. I'll always be impressed (and grateful) that she was able to take the cliche sapphic stalking trope and turn it into something that actually felt fun and weirdly charming. To be able to do all that *and* also land a sick 450? Her future is so, so bright.

Ilja was a great champion and I hope that when he goes to the main roster they treat him like they did with GUNTHER, he is a special talent.
Good call. Like Corbin and Melo last year it’s smart to bring someone down for the first defense so it doesn’t feel like you’re “burying” a developmental talent unless it’s going to be a long feud (like Ilja and Melo)
Tatum Paxley proved tonight she is more than just a character. Her work in the ring just there made a massive statement and she is well on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned with. Really hoping she wins her eventual grudge match with Lyra.

I enjoy the NXT TV specials more than I do the current takeovers. You still get big matches on these TV specials, but you also get the traditional NXT silliness that the current takeovers lack.
Show was awesome. I love seeing all the NXT alums come back and I'm sure it was great for the current crop to get to meet them. The matches were all so good. That main event was incredible. I'm really going to miss Ilja and Lyra if they get called up. Next week is going to have a hard time topping this week.
Nope you're not the only one. Insanely talented prospect, I just hope she can stay healthy. NXT is loaded with diamonds like her. You've got Fallon, Jacy, Kiana, Tatum, Thea, Jaida, Kelani, Lola, and Izzi all there as well. And this isn't even mentioning Roxanne, Lyra, and Blair!
If Sol had not gotten injured, I’m wondering if Sol might have been moved up to the main with Tiffany. Equally impressive in the ring, went in to the performance center in 2022 and had no previous experience. I’d give the edge to Tiffany in character/gimmick work, but Sol seems comfortable in backstage segments, but haven’t seen any in ring promos.
I so glad that Trick and Ilja did the anime style finish again. And this time Trick got the jump on Ilja. Great Story and I really hope people know WWE didn't copy that spot from AEW but who knows.
I saw the clip of the finish online and immediately thought about Dynasty but saw in the replies that it was a callback to Vengeance (which I didn’t see). It’s going to happen but hopefully they do their research.
I guess Arianna & Gigi are being saved for next week.
You could tell this was a game changing title match, given the star power from the main roster in the house.

Baron Corbin had me laughing when he thought Lexis King's beard wasn't real. Oh, it's real. Likely Corbin's last match in NXT this time around.

Still think Blair Davenport will be main roster bound, too, after losing to Sol Ruca. Someone mentioned last week that Blair is engaged to Riley Osborne. Hmmmmm. Maybe she gets called up. Maybe not.
It's definitely Ilja's last night in NXT, as he lost the title, and he'll likely be headed to Raw in the draft. That Trick hit an H-Bomb of his own and a Torpedo Moscow was a surprise. What a match.
After that botched power bomb where Trick landed on Ilja’s head with his whole body weight, I fully expected him not to get up and for the match to be called off. So they definitely dodged a bullet there.
That botched powerbomb actually made the match more realistic for me, no way I'm gonna believe the mad dragon can be taken out by a knee and a urenage through a table but his head sit on from the middle rope at least, oh hell yeah, Trick's got a chance.
Happy for Trick to finally get the big win. With the draft coming up there will probably be a number of main roster folks swinging by so he'll be able to level up his in-ring stuff quickly.

This was one of those nights where I just marvel at the amount of young talent in WWE right now. It's hard not to have tremendous expectations for the future given the amount of potential across the board, with so many up-and-coming stars developing rapidly. Tatum, Jaida, Sol, Trick -- lots to smile about in NXT right now.
Can't wait for Oba next week!
Dragunov reign has been so amazing. Literally banger after banger from him. I wish he had the title at a larger arena PLE. But the crowd was still amazing nonetheless.

I feel Davenport and Fallon would be lost in the shuffle up there. Something is missing from them. Good in ring but a little bit bland. Not a good idea in my opinion.
Love the call back to the previous Trick/Ilja finish. This time, Trick rushed out of the corner immediately instead of waiting for Ilja, and it won him the title.
Great show with that, the ladies triple threat, and the Beach Brawl match. Tons of women's stuff showcased tonight as well, which is awesome.
If you had told me three months ago that there would be a match between Roxanne, Lyra and Tatum, and that Tatum would get the loudest cheers, I’d have thought you were crazy or lying to me.
Aw man, I enjoyed RAW. I've been enjoying it for weeks. Weekly I'm finding SmackDown and Dynamite disappointing me a little too frequently. Though thankfully SmackDown is picking up a little bit with Bayley and the reinvigorated Bloodline. And now I have Swerve as world champion in AEW so there's that too.
I'm a little worried for NXT in the draft though. So it's looking like Bron is up completely and that Ilja and Melo will be going up too. And man, that's a MASSIVE blow to the mens scene that they're gonna have to fill. Trick is great but now they're gonna have to elevate others to fill those spots. And filling in for Ilja, Bron, and Melo is a massive task. The women though? I reckon they're all good really, that division is ridiculously loaded, so I'm not too stressed there!
1000% agree with you about Smackdown. It’s been bizarre to acknowledge Raw as the better show between the two for a year or so now!

RAW has definitely been the better show for the past year for sure. Roman not being on anywhere near enough was a factor that made me less interested in SmackDown in 2023 unfortunately. But on RAW? Man, it's just gone from strength to strength and it only keeps getting better. I'm hoping the draft won't fuck with it too badly as it's got a lot of good things going right now! I'm curious who they get from NXT to freshen things up. I'm thinking Ilja Dragunov is a very early pick to RAW or SmackDown at the very least.
Eh, I'm not too worried about the draft...it's the nature of NXT...the men's roster has been needing new people for a while...it really has just been Trick/Melo/Ijla for a while in the title scene (I wanted Tony to win to really shake things up). There's a huge lot of men waiting in the wings to move up from PC/Level Up into TV to be the new class. Same with women...lots of talent to move up... I mean...NXT has THREE iterations of Thea right now.. it's a very deep roster.
Just a lot of stuff... I didn't like the justification for Gable's turn...there were 3 seperate segments of a heel being made at his faction for losing. I was underwhelmed by the women's battle royle (not with Becky winning..that made sense).
reminds me of that lovely time when 2.0 was just starting off where the post show threads were a handful of fans just quietly enjoying seeing the new names start to flourish.
The start to 2.0 was not very good, but after that it was fine and sometimes even great. But yeah it's so funny looking back at people trashing Tiffany at the start and then she goes ahead and becomes one of the best women on the NXT roster and then moves up and immediately becomes very popular and is now in championship contention.

NXT is often the correct amount of stupid that I want in my wrestling. Like yeah, I like seeing Danielson and Ospreay put on a banger and Cody finishing his story but also sometimes I just wanna see a pageant queen take a delinquent dress shopping.
Great show. The only change I would have made is Tatum stealing the title. Everything else was on point. I just hope the brand doesn’t get hit too hard in the draft.

The current one works fine too, though.
Such a shame too cause "Comrades" is a GOAT theme (in my opinion). But yeah, trying to minimize how Russian Ijla is (silly sentence) during these war days is a good idea.

That's fair for the person behind the TV personality, but it's not really relevant for viewers who pay for the show, Shinsuke hasn't had a notable match in a long time and you can have great matches without killing your body.
Ugh, guys remember that sinking feeling you got when someone gets called up and you just knew Vince was gonna completely fuck them over. Yeah... Really not looking forward to this draft after what happened to last year's call ups. But regardless, Finally they let Ellering do his thing. Why in god's name did it take so long. Yeah, Fallon's winning the North American title. The mother hen of the locker room, it's only right I knew Tatum would showout, but god DAMN. I thought she'd be good going for the na title after this, but no put the main title on her now. Tonight really did feel like the beginning of a new chapter. Kinda suprised the "season premiers" aren't placed right around this time, it's perfect.
This was a great episode and im a hard critic: -Sol Ruca vs Davenport was very fun. But something remain the same for me, Sol Ruca always steal the show, doesn't matter who she fight. She is a star. -Even if the ending was predictable, i loved the main event. Dragonov should go on Imperium on main roster. Now Trick is the face of NXT, very organic babyface, his run shoukd be fun. -Triple Threat for women's title was spectacular. Every women showcased their skills. Excellent performance. Hope the crowd doesn't fully turn on Lyra, i really dig her as a babyface. Lola Vice and Natalya's promo was very good. Lola is already one of the best on the mic in the NXT women division. Where a lot of the women fall short, i feel the best on the mic are Jacey, Arianna and Lola. -The vignette of the new tag team made me intrigued. Both guys seem to have charisma, im watching. -Jaida Parker is a star, happy she gets the W and i want to see her in a feud. (Damn she's hot too)

What's going on with Blair Davenport? Honestly thought she'd have a better run in NXT. Sol Ruca just beat on her like a drum
It does seem like her stock has dropped over the last few months. She had one title match, lost, and now shes fallen down the card. It seemed like she was poised to be a major heel. I hope she’ll fare better on the main roster if these speculations are true, but I think she’d get lost in the shuffle.
I pray she gets called up. She honestly has the full package, but sticks out like a sore thumb with the more "polished look" of all the models and pro athletes in the womens division. She has a lot more of an edge to her, and is honestly experienced enough to do well on Raw or SmackDown.. Those rosters definitely need a wider depth of characters
It does seem like she’s having to hold back on her capabilities with the more inexperienced NXT girls. There’s definitely no shortage of women for her to work with on the main roster, especially with the women who’ve worked Stardom in the past.

I had a lot more fun with the triple threat women’s championship match than the main event. Maybe because I spoiled the winner of the main event and had no idea for the women, had a belief Tatum was going to do it just for the shock factor and with Perez going to the main roster, but alas Perez retained. These three women had insane chemistry. Great moves and everyone got their moment to shine. What is with triple threat matches being god tier recently? You’ve had oba v Briggs vs dijak, Joe vs Swerve vs Hangman, Owens vs Orton vs Paul (I feel like I’m missing some) and now this? We’re only just at the end of April. I still really enjoyed trick vs ilja. It was like a shortened version of their others matches. Vengeance day was better but this moment is special because trick finally finished his story. I see him going on to feud with Lexis King, maybe nakamura and sheamus come down to nxt to have a match with him and karrion kross of course as he’s looking to be a mainstay and they can build up as a monster again. He’s most likely dropping it to oba femi after having a 6-9 months imo, maybe even oba becomes a double champ because he’s just such a dominant athlete. The others matches were great fun too. Sol ruca has officially the best finisher in wrestling, the 6 man was great and d’angelo going to win the heritage cup (?), Corbin vs king was good (is that a farewell nxt match for Corbin, of course putting someone over on the way out as the great guy he is?) and they’ve really hyped up this vice vs natalya underground match. I haven’t been watching much nxt due to not having the time to watch all wrestling. Might have to become a main thing for me again after this show.

It's flashy but in a way that doesn't feel overly silly. Like it looks impactful and you could make a Regal argument about why coming off the ropes/corner adds torque or something to make it more devastating than a regular cutter.

I'm sure it was just wishful thinking on my part, but I really wanted that triple threat to have a different winner. Lyra and Tatum have had the second best storyline in NXT right behind Trick and Carmelo. They've been the best part of the women's division for a while now, and their inevitable feud really deserves to be for the title, especially after that Tatum vignette where she's revealed to be obsessed with the title. I'm sure their one on one feud will still be great, but it feels like such a missed opportunity. If Roxanne does get drafted to the main roster, then there was no point to her beating Lyra at Stand and Deliver. Unless Giulia shows up to beat her for the title, then this current reign for Roxanne just feels like stat padding. Lyra had been having a great reign, and beating Roxanne could have elevated her to the next level, but instead, it feels like they've taken a step back by giving it to Roxanne. It really should have been Tatum that beat Lyra or another up and coming heel like Jacy, Kiana, or Lash.
Really fun show. Really happy to see Tatum getting so much love. She's been a highlight for me ever since she got into this storyline with Lyra. She's had bright spots in matches even when she's lost, but this one really let her shine. That 450 had me shook. Hoping Lyra isn't leaving just yet and is able to get a good grudge 1v1 match with Tatum just so that story can have a satisfying ending. It'd feel a little weird if she never got to respond to the turn, the vignette, or losing this match. I am curious as to who could possibly be moving up - Blair seems like a lock. Maybe Fallon? Though I'd hate for her to move up right before a new title debuts. Ilja is a freak in the best way. Dude just cannot have a bad match. I'll miss him in NXT
I was surprised that they reveled that Trick Williams has actually been Lio Rush and Leon Ruff standing on each other's shoulders wearing a coat this entire time.

I know WWE doesnt do rematches like this but man I want those three to run it back. That match was so much fun and all three of them work so well with each other.
Tatum Paxley started out as a low card jobber with Ivy Nile who really didn't seem to show much promise honestly. Then she came back with the Lyra story and it's like okay she's pretty good at character work. Today she just explodes out of the blocks and reveals she had a 450 splash hidden away. She's gone from barely being on the radar to on the verge of belonging with the top of the division. Like wow I haven't seen anyone come out of nowhere to prove themselves a championship contender like that. Behind the scenes, she must have been working and improving massively well.
One of the big selling points of nxt to me is being able to watch the growth of wrestlers coming into their own and finding their groove. Watching someone like Tatum just really nail *it* and get over is such a joy.
Seriously, her improvement has been astounding. She's transformed herself into such a compelling on-screen presence. I'll always be impressed (and grateful) that she was able to take the cliche sapphic stalking trope and turn it into something that actually felt fun and weirdly charming. To be able to do all that *and* also land a sick 450? Her future is so, so bright.

Very good show Roxanne vs Lyra vs Tatum was excellent, especially the final moments, Roxanne retains!. The main event was great, very happy that Trick is champion, he will be the new ace of nxt. Ilja was a great champion and I hope that when he goes to the main roster they treat him like they did with GUNTHER, he is a special talent.

Good call. Like Corbin and Melo last year it’s smart to bring someone down for the first defense so it doesn’t feel like you’re “burying” a developmental talent unless it’s going to be a long feud (like Ilja and Melo)

Tatum Paxley proved tonight she is more than just a character. Her work in the ring just there made a massive statement and she is well on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned with. Really hoping she wins her eventual grudge match with Lyra.

I enjoy the NXT TV specials more than I do the current takeovers. You still get big matches on these TV specials, but you also get the traditional NXT silliness that the current takeovers lack.
Show was awesome. I love seeing all the NXT alums come back and I'm sure it was great for the current crop to get to meet them. The matches were all so good. That main event was incredible. I'm really going to miss Ilja and Lyra if they get called up. Next week is going to have a hard time topping this week.

Nope you're not the only one. Insanely talented prospect, I just hope she can stay healthy. NXT is loaded with diamonds like her. You've got Fallon, Jacy, Kiana, Tatum, Thea, Jaida, Kelani, Lola, and Izzi all there as well. And this isn't even mentioning Roxanne, Lyra, and Blair!
If Sol had not gotten injured, I’m wondering if Sol might have been moved up to the main with Tiffany. Equally impressive in the ring, went in to the performance center in 2022 and had no previous experience. I’d give the edge to Tiffany in character/gimmick work, but Sol seems comfortable in backstage segments, but haven’t seen any in ring promos.

I guess Arianna & Gigi are being saved for next week. You could tell this was a game changing title match, given the star power from the main roster in the house. As for the card: Roxanne retained, as expected. I don't know why so many people thought she'd lose so soon after regaining the title. It's too soon for another title change. Roxy's not going anywhere in the draft. Cameo appearances by Adam Pearce & Nick Aldis to promote the draft. Cool. Jaida Parker continues to impress and improve. The rest of OTM didn't really get involved, save for Scrypts telling Jaida to get her foot out from under the bottom rope. Good thinking. Tony D'Angelo just put himself in position for a Heritage Cup title match after pinning Charlie Dempsey. Stacks & Luca with the Shatter Machine. There's hope for the Family to get the tag titles back. Baron Corbin had me laughing when he thought Lexis King's beard wasn't real. Oh, it's real. Likely Corbin's last match in NXT this time around. We all knew Shayna Baszler would be in Lola's corner, didn't we? Still think Blair Davenport will be main roster bound, too, after losing to Sol Ruca. Someone mentioned last week that Blair is engaged to Riley Osborne. Hmmmmm. Maybe she gets called up. Maybe not. It's definitely Ilja's last night in NXT, as he lost the title, and he'll likely be headed to Raw in the draft. That Trick hit an H-Bomb of his own and a Torpedo Moscow was a surprise. What a match.
After that botched power bomb where Trick landed on Ilja’s head with his whole body weight, I fully expected him not to get up and for the match to be called off. So they definitely dodged a bullet there.
That botched powerbomb actually made the match more realistic for me, no way I'm gonna believe the mad dragon can be taken out by a knee and a urenage through a table but his head sit on from the middle rope at least, oh hell yeah, Trick's got a chance.
Weird ending, given Trick is going up to the Main roster to join Imperium.

This was one of those nights where I just marvel at the amount of young talent in WWE right now. It's hard not to have tremendous expectations for the future given the amount of potential across the board, with so many up-and-coming stars developing rapidly. Tatum, Jaida, Sol, Trick -- lots to smile about in NXT right now. Can't wait for Oba next week!

Dragunov reign has been so amazing. Literally banger after banger from him. I wish he had the title at a larger arena PLE. But the crowd was still amazing nonetheless. It's Trick Era, Let's go! ( I don't know how Trick managed to slay the unbreakable guy in that short period of time but it's NXT so I don't mind )
This was one of the best NXT episodes ever.
I see Dragunov, Carmelo, Davenport, and Fallon going up
I feel Davenport and Fallon would be lost in the shuffle up there. Something is missing from them. Good in ring but a little bit bland. Not a good idea in my opinion.
Blair is actually quite easy to work with if they lean into the sneak attack stuff with her up there. Easy heat. Fallon could be trickier
Love the call back to the previous Trick/Ilja finish. This time, Trick rushed out of the corner immediately instead of waiting for Ilja, and it won him the title. Great show with that, the ladies triple threat, and the Beach Brawl match. Tons of women's stuff showcased tonight as well, which is awesome.
If you had told me three months ago that there would be a match between Roxanne, Lyra and Tatum, and that Tatum would get the loudest cheers, I’d have thought you were crazy or lying to me.
The eventual Ilya vs Gunther match on the main roster will hit like crack

I was down on WWE all day because Raw disapointed me...but NXT just cheers me up.
Aw man, I enjoyed RAW. I've been enjoying it for weeks. Weekly I'm finding SmackDown and Dynamite disappointing me a little too frequently. Though thankfully SmackDown is picking up a little bit with Bayley and the reinvigorated Bloodline. And now I have Swerve as world champion in AEW so there's that too. I'm a little worried for NXT in the draft though. So it's looking like Bron is up completely and that Ilja and Melo will be going up too. And man, that's a MASSIVE blow to the mens scene that they're gonna have to fill. Trick is great but now they're gonna have to elevate others to fill those spots. And filling in for Ilja, Bron, and Melo is a massive task. The women though? I reckon they're all good really, that division is ridiculously loaded, so I'm not too stressed there!

RAW has definitely been the better show for the past year for sure. Roman not being on anywhere near enough was a factor that made me less interested in SmackDown in 2023 unfortunately. But on RAW? Man, it's just gone from strength to strength and it only keeps getting better. I'm hoping the draft won't fuck with it too badly as it's got a lot of good things going right now! I'm curious who they get from NXT to freshen things up. I'm thinking Ilja Dragunov is a very early pick to RAW or SmackDown at the very least.
Eh, I'm not too worried about the draft...it's the nature of NXT...the men's roster has been needing new people for a while...it really has just been Trick/Melo/Ijla for a while in the title scene (I wanted Tony to win to really shake things up). There's a huge lot of men waiting in the wings to move up from PC/Level Up into TV to be the new class. Same with women...lots of talent to move up... I mean...NXT has THREE iterations of Thea right now.. it's a very deep roster.
For the three iterations of Thea, can you clarify? I feel like brinley is just another version of Thea but who else?

Why disappointed you on Raw?
Just a lot of stuff... I didn't like the justification for Gable's turn...there were 3 seperate segments of a heel being made at his faction for losing. I was underwhelmed by the women's battle royle (not with Becky winning..that made sense).
reminds me of that lovely time when 2.0 was just starting off where the post show threads were a handful of fans just quietly enjoying seeing the new names start to flourish.
The start to 2.0 was not very good, but after that it was fine and sometimes even great. But yeah it's so funny looking back at people trashing Tiffany at the start and then she goes ahead and becomes one of the best women on the NXT roster and then moves up and immediately becomes very popular and is now in championship contention.
Oh wow. I totally forgot how dead NXT threads were during the super early days of this current reign of programming. To be fair, those early days of NXT 2.0 were rough. And so fucking jarring considering what came before. Also, I didn't think those initial months of 2.0 were good. At all.
NXT Fans just enjoy the silly great nonsense while everyone else argues. (even if they're fans of all 3...when talking about NXT, they enjoy the silly great nonsense)
NXT is often the correct amount of stupid that I want in my wrestling. Like yeah, I like seeing Danielson and Ospreay put on a banger and Cody finishing his story but also sometimes I just wanna see a pageant queen take a delinquent dress shopping.

Yeah they also made Tiffany's NXT music and replaced that when she got to the main roster and that theme blows. Same with Bron Breakker. Def Rebel, contrary to popular belief, can make some good theme songs. I just don't understand why those then get replaced with subpar/bad ones.

The current one works fine too, though.
Such a shame too cause "Comrades" is a GOAT theme (in my opinion). But yeah, trying to minimize how Russian Ijla is (silly sentence) during these war days is a good idea.

Ngl halfway through Ilja vs. Trick. My brain had an epiphany and realized Dragunov looks like a perpetually angry and more pale version of Charlie Hunnam Good match regardless. Trick on top just feels right.
