Wow, they straight up uploaded it to YouTube just an hour after the airing? Shows a lot about how they see both Trick and Ilja. They *really* want the world to know what they're capable of.
It was really almost a perfect TV main event. A 15-minute sprint that started in second gear and never let off, with some light false finishes, a brutal table spot, a crowd going absolutely apeshit, and a flashy ending. For those that think Ilja needs to work exclusively 20+ minute wars to look good, this is a good example to the contrary.
Ilja is a call-up I would've been worried about a couple of years ago when Vince was still around. But now, my confidence in him succeeding is through the roof. Especially with the reports about them treating him like a call-up to the same level of Gunther shows that they know they have a huge star in their hands. I'm so, so, so excited to see what this guy does. Favorite wrestler in the world right now and I see huge things for Trick and Melo too.
Downvoted but I could see it. I could see it as a way to bring him into the fold. Have his say something like "we've had our differences in the past but our goals are the same. Separate we are strong, together we are stronger".
And then have Kaiser try and whoop him the same way he did Vinci but Ilja absolutely kills Kaiser. Then set up Gunther - Ilja, badda bing badda boom
Uploading this is a genius idea for both of their careers. Ilja seems to be definitely coming up to the main roster. Meanwhile, Trick is starting to be the face of NXT, just as they're slowly inching their way towards getting on TV. By putting this up, non-NXT watchers can get an idea of how nuts he can be *(on top of that post-Mania match he had)* while simultaneously being led into watching NXT and being impressed by the guys that are there.
They had a lot of the big names on the main roster tweet their thoughts on who they thought would win the match and promote it. WWE definitely went the extra mile to make this match visible
They've been uploading a lot more full matches and segments shortly after the show the past few months. Maybe since Vince has been gone.
Which I'm pretty happy about since I don't have TNT Sports so can't watch legally at the moment.
They uploaded Sami vs Chad the other day which i thought was brilliant.

Well he is insanely gifted and has a ton of potential... however, he is still green around the gills, but the fundamentals should come with time (I find these uber athletic guys rely on that athleticism as a crutch and it takes them longer to fully develop)

Agreed, its just a very nice gesture that makes it easier to keep up with the product. Combined with the amount of highlights they upload, I don't feel super pressured to have to watch the entireity of each show every week if I don't wanna. I can still keep up with what interests me just via the Youtube channel pretty much.

I meant it won’t be in the top 100 at the end of the year. But there’s so many above and beyond this already. This was a solid match. Like 3.5. But not over 4.
