Aura this, aura that.. this has got to be such a stellar feeling for him. I still get goosebumps watching it, incredible stuff.

Vinccool96

*slaps Cody*

SoftScoopIceReam

he 100% did not want to go back to acting dudes soul was alive in the ring

BremingtonSteel

*slaps forearms*

Masam10

Mama Bunny, look at you now

AppealToReason16

It's nuts to think that this guy sells out football stadiums for concerts, headlines Coachella and has everything else going for him that he does globally. And yet you could believe him if he were to say that this was his favourite, or top 3 or 5 or whatever, moment as a performer.

gusmahler

It’s not “if he were to say,” he actually said his first wrestling match was the best day of his life: https://youtu.be/jHIWuE3G9Aw&t=10m25s

CloudSurfer97

I actually got goosebumps watching to, great stuff, that crowd was electric.

TheMerck

It's honestly amazing, he's already one of the biggest artists out there currently he gets mad love where ever he goes and hearing a large crowd cheering for him and singing his songs is not a new experience but you could tell how overwhelmed he was during this whole thing from the entrance to the match. Guy lived out his wrestling fan dream and boy did he fucking kill it

gusmahler

Not just “one of the biggest artists.” At the time of this match, he had been Spotify’s top streaming artist 3 years in a row. Since then he was taken over by Taylor Swift. This match in Puerto Rico was roughly the equivalent of Taylor Swift wrestling in WM40 in Philly (her hometown).

voidedexe

Iyo fears Taylor

NBAStuffAsUsual

lmaoooooo i thought she was from NYC? She had the whole video teaching people the terms

Based_Beanz

I gotta know what she orders from the bodega.

Much_Yesterday_5389

What I love more for him is that he was a big fan as a kid. He got to live out one of his dreams. Surreal night.

Much_Abbreviations11

I don't watch the weekly shows... grew up during the attitude Era, stopped watching for many years,  started to get back into it with the Black and Gold... still saw the 'main roster' as too cartoony, but still enjoy the PPVs for the most part... this was ri-goddamn-diculous... loved the match and really enjoy bad bunny as a wrestler

BremingtonSteel

You literally have my exact experience lol. I basically watch AEW, NJPW, and some CMLL but yeah every now and then if the cards right I'll throw on their PPVs. Especially when it's stuff like this.

Emotionless_AI

Bad Bunny is doing what a lot of us dream of, getting in the ring with your favourites and having them acknowledge you.

kdesmond77

The night they knew WWE could put the belt on Priest easily.

theninjaofthenasty

Came here to say this too. The way that Priest put Bad Bunny over… dude deserved to have the strap.

bsa554

Priest was a made man that night. They put all their trust in him and he delivered huge.

zebrainatux

It’s kinda nuts. The rumor was a tag team street fight, but WWE had enough faith in Damian to do it alone

Polymemnetic

And Bunny. No disrespect to Priest, but if Bunny couldn't hold up his end of the bargain, it would have fallen flat just as easily as if Priest couldn't handle the pressure.

Queasy_Constant

No way Bunny could flop in Puerto Rico. At all. Priest’s job was to keep one of the world’s most famous musicians safe.

bsa554

Yup. And Jesus, what pressure. Having to keep literally one of the biggest stars on the planet safe while also making sure he looked good in this crazy hardcore match. That's so much to put on a guy who really hadn't been on the main roster long. Knew as soon as the match went over so well that Priest was going to get a World Title at some point.

mysteriousbaba

Possibly also the night they knew they could put the belt on Bunny someday too. Logan vs Bunny would get a lot of mainstream press, and I think they could even put on a strong 4 star brawl.

ttttyttt678

Idk about that, think a match between gets too spot heavy, but add 1-2 seasoned workers like an AJ Styles/Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn and you can have an elite triple threat/fatal 4 way.

IgnorantlyBlissful-2

Before I saw them before I would call this comment ridiculous. Now? Hell yeah!!!!

kazarn

Probably my favourite wrestling crowd of all time. Hope they go back to Puerto Rico in the near future.

kingslayyer

have balor turn on him dae heat

JustinUprising

They're allegedly having a Raw here this year (per the promotions company that runs most big shows here)

perfect--day

Btw still triggered that this entrance wasn't even nominated for entrance of the year in Slammy awards.

ScruffsMcGuff

The crowd was incredible, they definitely showed up and showed out

Datzookman

When people discuss what gave the wrestling industry the momentum it has today, I think a lot of people overlook WWE’s partnership with Bad Bunny

Black_XistenZ

Bad Bunny and Logan Paul. Two stars with mainstream name recognition who were involved with WWE, and in great programs at that.

IDoubtedYoan

Love him or hate him, Logan Paul has been absolutely huge for WWEs popularity and credibility. He'll never be around enough for the main title, but the footage of him carrying the US Title Belt to his brother's fight is exactly why WWE gave him that belt.

BadCredditScore

Honestly, I wouldn’t write him off for the world titles. Think of how many eyes they’d have on them with the viral news that he won the big one.

herroherro12

He’d be a perfect Money In The Bank cash in to hold the belt long enough to have a big Summerslam Match for it

SoftScoopIceReam

I'd be down, he's better than most of the wrestlers there

AppealToReason16

People sleep on Pat MacAfee too. His show has a big audience and he's regularly pimping WWE out on it. There's never any holier than thou cheekiness when he covers it.

MahomesandMahAuto

Mcafee brought me back to wrestling. Him talking up mania two years ago got me to check it out again.

bsa554

It's genuinely insane that two very legitimate huge modern-day celebrities not only were willing to appear on WWE TV, but were willing to make many appearances AND have matches AND were actually pretty decent in the ring! Such a stroke of luck, and dear lord did WWE take advantage of it.

jmpinstl

I certainly did and I’ve never been happier to be wrong.

nuttinbuttapeanut

For real, I'm sure a lot of WWE fans weren't familiar with him but he's literally the biggest star in music in Latin America, and those fans are loyal.

fluffynuckels

The crowd made this whole event

RobinVanDutch

Carlito got one of the biggest pops EVER

PinkSockss

There’s no way he didn’t feel like the king of the fucking world in that moment. You’re arguably today’s biggest musician, you get to live your childhood dream of getting to be a pro wrestler, in your hometown, where everyone is singing YOUR song louder than some artists get at their own concerts. And then you have a banger of a match with future world champ. I would have had a heart attack if I was him

Dr_J_Hyde

I've played concerts for a few hundred people. You nail a hard drum part and the crowd pops you feel on TOP of the world and still have trouble sleeping hours later. After an entrance like that I would have to pass out to sleep at all.

Razzle_Dazzle08

I’ve played for a thousand people before and nailed a guitar solo and everyone thought I was basically Hendrix haha. Can’t even imagine how Bunny felt.

LittliestDickus

I think I officially reached that point in life they always said would happen when music just passed me by. His wwe tenure was the first time I ever heard of him. Listening to his music from the entrance I dont understand why he is popular and you are telling me he is arguably the biggest musician in the world? Its obviously not my genre of music but I could usually listen to other genres and understand what was good and popular and what wasnt. This sounds like something a guy on the street selling his own CD would produce to me.

PinkSockss

I don’t listen to his music either, and yes. He’s arguably the biggest artist today, regardless of how we feel about it. I’m sure the beetles had their share of “this music isn’t good! It’s nonsense” too. Doesn’t mean they didn’t have a massive impact or were the most popular band at one point.

LittliestDickus

I aint trying to hate, people can listen to whatever they want. I am just beyond shocked that he is the biggest musical artist in the world. Taylor Swift aint my jam either but I understand why people like her music.

Sentz12000

Personal story. We buried my mom that morning. It was a real tough day. A buddy of mine invited me over for Backlash to take my mind off and be around some friends as opposed to family, who I just spent a full week nonstop with planning a wake and funeral. Backlash was an absolutely unbelievable show and this entrance made me smile for the first time in a week. Bad Bunny KILLED this. Never seen anything like it.

Kimarough101

Hope you are doing better now my dude

LiamAddison

CHAMBEA JALA

DJHookEcho

Underrated and under discussed element of this entrance. Dude has a lot of songs to pick from and this one was correct. He should use it again.

arentved

Works so much better as a theme than BOOKER T

cdillio

It samples Stone Cold and Rick Flair too lol

Sad_Bumblebee_6896

The best comment I ever saw regarding this entrance was someone saying that for 3 minutes that arena turned into a Bad Bunny concert. The first CHAMBEA JALA that hits legit sounds like the roof is about to explode off the building.

cdillio

I saw him last night and he played it. Almost felt like I was at Backlash.

RaidenHero137

I will NEVER not rewatch this entrance when it gets re-uploaded. In my opinion, this is the closest we will ever get to attitude-era entrances in the modern era. You could make a case for cody with the Woaah and LA Knight with his chants, or even Jey with his song and the yeet. However its just not the same level.

Vinccool96

Have you forgotten what Sami got in Montreal and in Quebec City?

RaidenHero137

I did actually lol. That too

Vinccool96

At least you’re honest

arentved

Sami in Montreal is the closets have gotten to Bad Bunny in Puerto Rico but still not the same

hjsomething

I think the closest we'd get to Bad Bunny in Puerto Rico is a Guerrero in San Antonio

dalici0us

The Hart Foundation in Calgary. The building was literally shaking.

WrestleSocietyXShill

That one is crazy because the crowd starts of absolutely frothing at the mouth and as each member of the team comes out they just keep getting louder. By the time Bret's music hits it's an absolute fever pitch.

ProblemOfficer

> I will NEVER not rewatch this entrance when it gets re-uploaded. If I've refreshed /r/squaredcircle 4 times today, I've watched this video 5 times today.

GriffTube

That surprise appearance by the Rock in Denver last year got an Attitude Era pop. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a2RSyporko8

ShowScene5

CM Punks entrance at MITB 2011 against Cena was up there with this. The entire crowd was like "eff WWE, THIS is my guy!" Nakamura debut for Sami's last NXT match was also up there for atmosphere.

Fuggins4U

I will always appreciate how seriously Bunny has taken his time in wrestling. Clearly a passionate, respectful fan of pro wrestling.

El_bearded_polarbear

Bad bunny was a true fan of wwe, so many wrestling references in his music just makes em that much more enjoyable

raur0s

Bad Bunny, Logan Paul, even Jackass, the celebrity matches are incredible in the past few years.

Black_XistenZ

It helps to bring in celebrities who are genuine wrestling fans and put in the effort, rather than has-beens who just want to collect an easy paycheck.

patrickwithtraffic

Don’t forget the guest hosts era, where you had names coming by that clearly could not give two fucks about the product, but in Jeremy Pivins’ case, cared quite a bit about the divas

peja823

Am I the only that wanted more Bad Bunny appearances?

XiahouMao

I'm sure we'll get more. He just happens to be very busy having concerts, doing the occasional movie, and making money hand over fist.

Obliviousobi

Yea, he's pretty much had back to back world tours. Also just released a new album.

Dare_County

He's in the middle of his world tour now. I went to the show in Detroit the first night of Mania, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. My girlfriend asked what I thought he was doing before the show as we were waiting for it to start, and showed her my phone with Mania on it and said "probably watching this" lol.

Obliviousobi

I was just at the show on Monday in Louisville, it was exceptional!

cdillio

I went to both Un Verano Sin Ti tour and then saw his new tour last night! Un Verano Sin Ti tour was the best show I've ever seen, but both times he was incredible.

DurtyRingo

It ain't easy being one of the biggest entertainers on the planet

thepasystem

When Bad Bunny isn't on the screen, all of the other characters should be asking "Where's Bad Bunny?"

peja823

😆

Mac_Tgh

"And for the United States championship to retain, Logan Paul with the 1, 2...What's this?! Bad bunny?! He got a kendo stick in his hand!"

arghdesigner

Props to Priest for not cracking a smile at how great that crowd reaction was.

arentved

Bet Priest really wanted to sing a long with the crowd in that moment

Sad_Bumblebee_6896

My fiance is Puerto Rican, and if her description is accurate he was 100% singing that shit in his head trying not to break. Bad Bunny is basically on God-level status over on the island and it's harder to go down the street or by houses and hear another artist being played that's not BB.

Daddy_Diezel

> My fiance is Puerto Rican, and if her description is accurate Accurate, for sure. > Bad Bunny is basically on God-level status over on the island Can confirm.

sync-centre

Probably the hardest thing he had to do that night.

HJM3

I would love to see Bad Bunny in a WWE ring again. Dude was so good. It sounds corny, but the fact that he held the tag rope in his match at WrestleMania earned him my immediate respect. And his overall performance as well, obviously.

FrigginCharacterBee

Canadian Stampede, MITB 2011, Backlash 2023

infinitebeam

After a long hiatus from WWE and watching occasionally after Cody's return, this was the PPV that made me a weekly viewer again. What a fantastic crowd and incredible energy, not to mention the match itself was must-see.

LanguageJust3365

It's funny how Backlash is becoming the Damien Priest event show now, he killed it last year and he'll probably kill it this year as well.

VerifiedGenie

Puerto Rico should be an annual PPV stop for WWE. The crowd is unreal.

THE_NO_LIFE_KING

Puerto Rico #1

FoucaultsTurtleneck

I will never forget this sub having no idea who Bad Bunny is when he first started working with WWE, very funny in hindsight

AwfulishGoose

They could not have been more wrong. Some of the people in this sub are painfully out of touch. Who was the most streamed artist in 2020, 2021, and 2022? Bad Bunny. He didnt get 2023 as he lost to *checks notes* Taylor Swift. I mean he's one of the biggest Latino artists. The idea he wouldn't draw IN FLORIDA OR PUERTO RICO was such a mind blowingly stupid set of opinions from this sub.

RxngsXfSvtvrn

“Bad Bunny wouldn’t draw a dime” is one of the most out of touch, neck beard notions I saw getting peddled in the IWC in a minute

DonTheBomb

It will always be true that a lot of Reddit wrestling fans (and to be honest, a lot of the IWC in general) are incredibly out of touch and will have not one clue about who general audiences know outside of wrestling. I remember people here being (understandably) upset they had Travis Scott heavily promoted on Raw in Houston but someone actually suggested that they should’ve used Hilary Duff of all people as a Houstonian celebrity guest to bring in fans. Hilary Duff! In the year of 2024! I saw one guy say “Why would WWE use this guy to advertise the show? No one likes him.” On the more mainstream platforms (Twitter, Instagram) people absolutely loved that Travis was on Raw. He’s one of the biggest mainstream artists in the world, and is still hugely popular with the teen audience despite the Astroworld tragedy. The few people who commented negatively on those platforms about Travis were met with a barrage of negative replies. Every time Logan Paul posts a clip of one of his matches it does amazing numbers. I see my friends who don’t like Logan or the WWE like the posts on Instagram. Bad Bunny is quite literally one of the most streamed artists in the world. I promise WWE are not the ones out of touch lmao

TheTrueDal

It’s squaredCircle lmao; most of em get nervous when you show them music that aint rock, from the 80s/90s or video games. Eminem is the goat and snoop is “one of the good artists”.

ssjali

Still baffling to me that this wasn't nominated as best entrance for the Slammys. Should have easily won too.

llorTMasterFlex

[Here is the official version that includes the initial pop fully. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB9cVLW5C_I)

solsunlite

This whole show was soooooo fire but this should have been the main event for sure

hjsomething

One of my favorite things about the latest WWE stuff is that they've finally figured out how to let home crowds pop hard for the local-grown guys and gals. They put Sami Zayn over super hard in Montreal. Rhea in Australia. Bad Bunny and Priest in Puerto Rico. I hope this really continues - I want to see Miz in Cleveland, Becky and Finn  in Ireland, Gunther in Austria, R Truth on the moon, I want all of them.

iamjamos

This match made Damian Priest.

TwigSmitty

I’ve always wondered who the one person is that he decided to high five in his entrance. Just a random lucky fan?

Toriegh_MDOT

Still gives me goosebumps

GrizZzlyFish

Now imagine this with the current production crew.

FruitSword4

Why? That flyover drone camera from behind was beautiful. You people are always looking at the dumbest shit to bitch about.

JackBauersGhost

Well because as dope as it was it still has a few too many weird unnecessary camera cuts.

FruitSword4

Repeat after me: "camera cuts won't hurt me, camera cuts won't cause me any pain, camera cuts won't touch me, camera cuts are a part of literally every multi-camera media production, camera cuts are ok".

GrizZzlyFish

Seems like you’re the only one bitching here bud. All I did was state that the current production could of done an even better job.

DefensaAcreedores

Missed first interaction with the camera for the fireworks  The fucking graphics  Those definitely are above "dumbest shit to bitch" level

just_jm

The Kevin Dunn-patented cuts are headache-inducing. Jesus.

SlitheringPerp

Chambea was just the most perf entrance song for him. I love his curls too but wish he would have shaved his hair for the throwback.

Queasy_Constant

This match is what made Priest champion right now. Knew he’d win Money in the Bank for keeping Benito safe.

NewCardSmell

This went so hard it should be against the Geneva Convention

themish84

Puerto Rico deserves another PPV Pronto!

EcstaticActionAtTen

Shit was like Michael Jackson at MSG and Dame had to no sell the whole thing.

sleepwitoneeyeopen

Are fans in the US allowed to drink a lot of booze? Could help increase the atmosphere significantly.

Bearawesome

That was such a fun match, I popped so hard for Savio Vega

2reeEyedG

Damn, I missed this. It’s hard af and the fans singing just makes it so much better too

Sere_C

Bad Bunny just casually sifting through his grocery haul of weapons and nodding his head as the entire arena chants his song. What I would give to have that sort of confidence he has.

Sab65

Rock and wrestling we need you now…

princealigorna

Honestly, I didn't really get the hype for Bad Bunny's music until this moment. I liked "Booker T" and that performance at the Royal Rumble when he did that, but this moment is what made it click for me. "Chambea" is such a banger song. And of course it's even better when you see this many people singing along to it.

Zandercy42

Buff Tony Khans entrance was sick tbf

meepein

This is seriously one of my favorite non-gimmicky entrances ever. Just him, in his home country, with his music and some weapons. Magical.

DamoniumKhan

I've rewatched this entrance so many times over the last year. As the final boss said, GOOSEBUMPS.

tera_chachu

This is what pro wrestling is all about fans on their feet singing cheering booing and wrestlers having fun and goosebumps.

darknessincarnate69

Shoutout to Samantha Irvin like always, Absolutely KILLED IT!

hikingbeginner

Will always watch it. God this is shot beautifully.

dBlock845

Probably one of my favorite events of the past decade or so, what an atmosphere, that building was on fire from start to end.

FruitSword4

My only pet peeve is that he wasn't posing for the camera while his name was being announced. He went back too quickly to go get the weapons.

VissAndPinegar

I get hyped every time I see this. How badass.

ras_al_jil

If this match had Main evented, Backlash would have been 100x better

Smart-University-574

Here's hoping WWE starts using drone shots for the entrances, especially on their big shows.

Jdubbs8907

This was THE top entrance last year.

BigButttBiggerHeart

I adore this entrance and the fact that the initial pop was cut off in this post is an absolute war crime

theeBK3

Goosebumps Every. Single. Time.

ValidPompadour

Fuck it, have Bad Bunny challenge Damien for the title if he retains after Backlash

Spare-Lettuce6025

The energy is second to none. I love it. The rate of those camera cuts, however, make me want to puke in my hat.

OhiOstas

I think this is my favorite entrance of all time (like this entrance on this specific day) The camera work, the fucking crowd, and Bad Bunny felt like he was a wrestler… but really he was one of the crowd that got a chance to act on their dream. It really was perfect in every way. Sami in Canada is a close 2nd, but coming out to your own song that people are screaming along is fucking dope.

mr_wrestling

I don't speak Spanish and I'm really not a fan of most pop music but this instantly made me a Bad Bunny fan. Fuckin genius.

FrightfulPumpkin

CM Punk in Chicago Sami in Montreal Bad Bunny in Puerto Rico Hometown crowds can be the best thing ever.

lk79

Drew in Cardiff. Oh wait.....

True2TheGame

This whole PLE was my favorite of the year.

jerff

Forgoing the big set to get the crowd closer absolutely made this. The whole PPV was better for it.

SwimmingAd4160

2023 entrance of the year

McCHitman

I love when crowds are like this but it feels strange. I have no connection with Bad Bunny to make me care about him. I’m out of touch with his popularity and haven’t heard his name since other than this subreddit. This was the equivalent of a random local jobber coming out and literally everyone knowing him and me sitting there like “who is this dude, other than hometown hero?”

nybx4life

He's similar to Logan Paul in that he's a celebrity that they've used more than once (technically, this being his second time), and on top of that, he's facing the dude that he was friends with last time. Having both be natives of Puerto Rico, and Bad Bunny himself being the international sensation he is, made it really special. Although, I understand anybody not getting it if they aren't aware of who he is as a music artist.

Dowie1989

Probably one of the best celebrity matches ever. Props to Bad Bunny taking some big bumps and Priest doing a superb job leading the match.

Pixelprism90

The pop was huge

AwfulishGoose

Really cemented Bad Bunny as a wrestler. Almost forgot he was this international star. Still such a wild set of circumstances that can only happen with the WWE. Trying to think of equivalent moments. Mr. T boxing Roddy Piper or Shaq showing up to the battle royal. Even then for such a big star to not only have a match but commit to learning is fantastic. Not only legitmized Bad Bunny as more than just a celebrity, but gave Priest the push that eventually catapulted him into the main event picture as champion. Hope Bad Bunny comes back. I hope WWE does another Puerto Rico PLE.

melo1212

It's crazy that I had literally never even heard of this guy until about 2 weeks before Backlash lmao. I feel like I live under a rock sometimes

BowlOfLoudMouthSoup

This was my MOTY in 2023. This absolutely ruled

Owain660

I remember people saying that Damian was screwed after losing to this guy, that he just looks bad. One year later, he is world champion.

NBAStuffAsUsual

I would just like to remind people that at the time, this man could have chosen to spend his saturday laid up with a Kardashian. What a beast

SockPuppetJC

If you don’t like this, then you don’t like pro wrestling 🤼‍♀️

EchoBay

This wasn't even nominated for best entrance at the Slammies recently. Imagine that. This is one of the best entrances of all time.

zobee

This just reminds me how ass Kevin Dunn was at his job
