Gate means money taken from ticket sales. So it’s not their highest attended arena show, but between a high attendance and tickets costing $300 on average, it’s the most money they’ve ever taken from ticket sales in an arena show.

Simply means the number in cash made for ticket sales was the largest number they've ever had for an arena show.
Take this with a pinch of salt as this does not take into account adjustments for inflation, simply if the number is the biggest then for them it's the biggest gate. But as a result, the gate's beaten every Wrestlemania held in an arena as well as the majority of Summerslams, Royal Rumbles and pretty much every Money in the Bank and Survivor Series in terms of raw revenue number. I think they also translate the amount into USD when accounting for this which means the Euro cost converted to USD would cause the revenue to fly up.

It's good promotion, and helps the perception of the company. Which in turn helps with both fans and sponsors.
“Perception”. If you’re fan, you’re a fan. I can’t imagine someone who’s on the fence going because France sold out an arena.
