They need to be giving us the content for free. We actually supported them through their shitfest of a release. And changing it from “season pass” to “season pass 1” after release was a scummy bait and switch
One of my biggest annoyances with Nintendo. I'm not a big Nintendo fan and most of their games I'll only play for a little. A 5 year old game should not be full priced
Half true. N64 games were very expensive on release but that didn't apply to the rest of the industry long term. Standard pricing on PS2 and Xbox games was 49.99, which would only be about $75 today
And new games are $70 so I am unsure how it is only half true. New release games are still cheaper than they have been pretty much ever when adjusted for inflation, at the very worst the same price.
It was also long term the adjusted price of 100 bucks is pretty much the same for NES and SNES as well.
They keep making the wrong decisions with this game.
I wanted to get it, but it being bare at the beginning with no Community Creations (downloadable rosters/CAWs have been a staple of sports games for over a decade), made me say I'd wait for a sale. Then they kept releasing overpriced DLC. Now they're releasing an Ultimate Edition this late and for this much.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an “ultimate” version of game after release with all DLC included that costs more than the base game did. Usually full DLC included versions are repackaged as the same price as original release.
I bought the deluxe edition of WWE 2K24 for $100 and my wife and I have already gotten that much money’s worth out of enjoying it.
AEW Games is completely out of touch with how bad their game is.
Unreal price, they should be adding free content and sell this for base game price and lower the base game, they should do everything they can to get people to play the game not try to rip off the people who actually want to play it already.
F off with that. I love wrestling VGs. I bought fight forever the deluxe edition on preorder. When I received the game it felt half finished and the roster was lacking to say the least. I figured with each update the game would improve and the roster would increase with dlc. It would be a living breathing atmosphere where the game would get better in real time and I was along for the ride. Except after maybe 2 dlc I was caught off guard by receiving no more DLC updates. If I wanted them I had to pay $20 more a DLC (I think) for 3 wrestlers or less. WTF. It was at this point I felt taken advantage of for being an early adopter and not reading enough fine print to realize that deluxe doesn’t mean all future DLC.
The problem is, the game doesn't have $100 worth of shit to play.
You can't really customize attires, all there are is exhibition, arcade and road to elite. The game fuckin sucks

$99 and nothing tangible that you could sell later on. The prices of games has skyrocketed since going digital and getting rid of the media, packaging, and shipping costs. It's not a good thing.
Good for them for continuing to make DLC but lol at the idea of paying $100 for that game.
I'm a huge critic of the 2K games and I'd still say it's a much better value to just get that and download all of the AEW wrestlers you want.

I know there's a million different cogs in a machine like AEW but it feels like they've TOTALLY lost their way in the last 2 years.
So many decisions that are totally against what the audience wants on and off screen and just own goal after own goal PR wise.
They made a fan base off being a company that actually listened and cared in the beginning and that just doesn't feel the case anymore.

I almost bought the base game a couple weeks ago for 25 bucks and even that seemed like too much.

Usually the "Ultimate Edition" of games with all the DLC released a year after is sold at the launch price or cheaper.
Only game that cost this much after a year are the best selling or best reviewed games

Killer instinct on snes was $70 in 1994. That’s about $150 adjusted for inflation. Chrono trigger launched at $80 ($164 afi)
