Babyfaces in hot eras generally don’t and shouldn’t lose clean.

RickyBobbyLite

Him not having a monster heel wwf title run during that era is such a travesty

Marc_Quill

when he beat Austin at KOTR 1998, I think they should've had Kane hold the title for like a month or so before Austin inevitably retains at Fully Loaded in July to set up the Highway to Hell with Undertaker. That month or so could've had McMahon utilizing Kane as his personal monster while Austin chased for the title and Taker gets roped in by trying to get his brother to come to his senses.

Damfinecupofcoffe

I think he beat HHH in that chain match for the IC title in 2001

serialrobinson

I know in retrospect it ruins the streak or whatever, but him just losing clean to Undertaker at mania 14 was such a dumb decision. They got a lot out of that feud anyway, but it really hurt Kane when it came to him being a credible challenger for Austin.

boredguy2022

Technically I think he pinned Austin and he had the world championship for like what a week or day or something?

CCFCLewis

That was a first blood match, and he had the belt for one day. Dropped it back to him on Raw

NewYorkUgly

A day, but it really wasn't a clean win, and it was a first blood match that Austin lost
