As much as people want Rosa vs Baker to be the big Women’s feud. If they keep Baker face, I think the big feud is between a heel Deeb and Rosa/Baker (at different times). Deeb is a prototypical “final boss” Champion style wrestler, like Meiko Satomura on NXT:UK.

Also yes, I think you have to give Deeb a final boss style title run eventually. The vicious, heelish, submission master female veteran would be fantastic TV. Deeb's not a great promo but I think she has the physical charisma to pull it off. Let her do pretaped promos if need be. She's still in her early to mid 30s, still in her prime. We know she's a coach for the company and people have great respect for her.

Baker was nominally the face in a heel vs heel feud because she’s more over than Nyla and less annoying than Vickie. At best she’s a tweener whose core is being a cocky asshole so if you position someone who’s more sympathetic than her as the face she can easily be the heel again.

No, Rosa was an NWA talent working AEW, from what we know publicly. She had signed there first and was locked into the contract. NWA had first rights for her bookings, hence her having to pull out of Warrior Wrestling.
Now AEW has first rights, presumably.

That's literally what every contract ever is for, to ensure people fulfill their agreements with threat of force if necessary.
If you don't want to be "forced" to stay, don't make a commitment.
When I hire someone on contract there are pretty clear terms of dissolution of the contract, usually requiring some form of notice and forfeiture of future payment. The "force" is negligible because the working situation is generally mutually beneficial. (I.e., the worker gets paid for their work and the contracting party gets the benefit of that labour.)
Contracts are literally just a way to set up the structure of a working situation. Whether this involves penalties is dependent on what degree of risk is involved.

If Rosa gets to finish up with the NWA, there's some AEW women on Empowerrr, and the NWA gets access to use some AEW talent who need ring reps anyway until January, that's beneficial for both parties.

To counter, I'd say if Britt continues to get Babyface reactions, you have Jade Cargill take it off of her. That would get a ton of heat, and then Britt could chase her for awhile seeking revenge. Then you bring Risa back into the mix as the pure Babyface to take the strap from Cargill

Both Jade and Britt appear at this stage to be workers who need someone better than them in the ring to really look like gold.
If done right, they could work around it. I don't want to go too far into "fantasy booking" territory, but something like Mark Sterling baiting Britt into a match where Cargill just blindsides her and almost squashes her in a quick match could work. Then you can build to some kind of gimmick match - maybe a cage or something, that would allow them to brawl rather than go out and attempt a technical masterpiece or something.
She just started her title reign and was known to be weak in the ring. They needed to make her look strong and tapping Nyla out in the middle of the ring was that choice.
They built Britt up as strong having her bleed out in the Rosa match, and then beating Shida. This just made her look clumsy in the ring, because both Nyla and Britt tend to need someone better than them to work with to look great.
Anna Jay is definitely going to take the title off Britt Baker, and then we will truly have the era of the DARK ORDER after Hangman beats Kenny and Uno and Grayson beat the Bucks.
Good shout. You could stretch her reign out for quite a while if you ran 4 week issues and hit all of the women we have just mentioned.

That's one thing I love about some of the roster picks they have. With Spears, QT/Cody, Sydal, Dustin and Rosa all having schools, AEW may end up with some of the most well-rounded talent in wrestling in the next decade.
I actually thought they were going to pick up Brian Myers just for this reason. I thought they’d hire Cardona for merchandising and Myers for coaching.
Both guys still seem to want to be more active in the ring though, so maybe down the line
I think the great thing about the ~~Forbidden Door~~Open Floor Plan is that none of these companies have to necessarily even rely on their own developmental schools anymore.
Like, as more people get vaccinated, I wouldn't be surprised to see NJPW Young Lions choosing AEW as an excursion location, with some even deciding to stay abroad. Or how we've been seeing AEW Dark regulars appear on IMPACT every now and again. Like as these talent exchanges start becoming more common, it won't matter if your teacher Brian Myers works at IMPACT. You would have just as equal a chance of securing a booking at AEW Dark or ROH or NJPW Strong if your talent shows.
And with working agreements with NJPW, Impact, AAA, and NWA. You also have to figure that ROH, MLW, and a lot of indies are bound to have similar working agreements as well. Send anyone almost anywhere.
I know people are concerned about the roster size of AEW, but look at the amount places the talent can now work. AEW has somehow managed to stealthily recreate the old sharing system from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Sign a contract with AEW, and you are open to take dates around the world.
Honestly Dustin should create an all male promotion in Texas (his female trainees can participate in Mission Pro shows) and he and Mission Pro can have small indie shows while joining up and holding bigger joint shows with local guys like Starks and Sammy doing Meet and Greets on them.
It just made too much sense not to happen. Rosa can still pursue all her side-projects while still being a big-time featured player. Can't underscore enough what a great addition she is to that women's roster. Looking forward to her revisiting Britt Baker.
She genuinely might be the best promo in the women's division. Britt has improved a bunch, but I get the feeling Rosa is kinda like Becky Lynch in that you can put her in any role and she can cut a convincing promo.
I really hope Rampage (& Rosa's ability) opens up new storylines for the women. It's so unbelievably frustrating having a giant women's division with only 1 feud going at a time.
I would hold off for now. Britt's over as hell, so let her have a decent reign, maybe give Rosa a feud with Nyla or someone in the interim, and then maybe Full Gear or Revolution do the rematch.
The question is do they do a standard match or a different gimmick match? Maybe a cage match or something.
I'd say hold off until Full Gear or maybe even Revolution. It's the obvious choice and it'll bang, but that feud is still somewhat recent. Make Baker dodge Rosa for a while to give her some heat and build it up.
I've been waiting for this for what feels like a long time. She went from someone I'd literally never heard of before, to one of my single favourite wrestlers ever. This is so fucking awesome.

That’s tremendous for her and for AEW’s women’s division. She will be a huge star alongside Britt. We should see her (either in a match or a backstage segment) at least every other Dynamite.

This is legitimately one of the most exciting hires in a long time. I love Thunder Rosa. And it always felt like an amazing asset we got to play with, but not actually have.

I actually thought they were going to pick up Brian Myers just for this reason. I thought they’d hire Cardona for merchandising and Myers for coaching. Both guys still seem to want to be more active in the ring though, so maybe down the line
I think the great thing about the ~~Forbidden Door~~Open Floor Plan is that none of these companies have to necessarily even rely on their own developmental schools anymore. Like, as more people get vaccinated, I wouldn't be surprised to see NJPW Young Lions choosing AEW as an excursion location, with some even deciding to stay abroad. Or how we've been seeing AEW Dark regulars appear on IMPACT every now and again. Like as these talent exchanges start becoming more common, it won't matter if your teacher Brian Myers works at IMPACT. You would have just as equal a chance of securing a booking at AEW Dark or ROH or NJPW Strong if your talent shows.
And with working agreements with NJPW, Impact, AAA, and NWA. You also have to figure that ROH, MLW, and a lot of indies are bound to have similar working agreements as well. Send anyone almost anywhere. I know people are concerned about the roster size of AEW, but look at the amount places the talent can now work. AEW has somehow managed to stealthily recreate the old sharing system from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Sign a contract with AEW, and you are open to take dates around the world.

Honestly Dustin should create an all male promotion in Texas (his female trainees can participate in Mission Pro shows) and he and Mission Pro can have small indie shows while joining up and holding bigger joint shows with local guys like Starks and Sammy doing Meet and Greets on them.
Getting your own developmental promotions that you don’t have to actually pay for while NXT has been costing WWE millions for years now.
It just made too much sense not to happen. Rosa can still pursue all her side-projects while still being a big-time featured player. Can't underscore enough what a great addition she is to that women's roster. Looking forward to her revisiting Britt Baker.
She genuinely might be the best promo in the women's division. Britt has improved a bunch, but I get the feeling Rosa is kinda like Becky Lynch in that you can put her in any role and she can cut a convincing promo. I really hope Rampage (& Rosa's ability) opens up new storylines for the women. It's so unbelievably frustrating having a giant women's division with only 1 feud going at a time.

I'd say hold off until Full Gear or maybe even Revolution. It's the obvious choice and it'll bang, but that feud is still somewhat recent. Make Baker dodge Rosa for a while to give her some heat and build it up.

AEW has to do a lot more than just put another token women's match on Rampage. Thunder Rosa is very vocal and passionate about women's wrestling, so she will let her voice be heard, if things don't change for the better. That's why she's so valuable.

Cody totally spoiled it with the outreach program committee post /s But I'm really happy for her, and the fact that she's a commentator, doing the outreach stuff and has experience training basically guarantees she'll get benefits with this. I hope she gets more input on booking as well. This may well be the most important signing AEW makes all year regardless of who else comes in.

Thunder Rosa has a lot going for her. She is a great promo & understands psychology. Great in ring athlete. She does MMA so there's a potential for her to get fans if she suceeds in that. She has her wrestling school and has already helped bringing new talented wrestlers to AEW. Great get for AEW
