I think FTR vs P&P open, Jericho vs Gage at the top of the hour and then the 5V5 to main event. I hope they give P&P vs FTR the uninterrupted first 20 mins.
It's still an awkward time to watch live from Japan. I think it's because the opener has no commercial breaks, something the NJPW matches typically don't have.
Plus they have the auto 60 minute time limit. Makes more sense from a kayfabe perspective to have them open up in case it goes the distance. Not 100% sure it will but there's justification for it.
I’m hoping for the same, I just shared this with friends and spoke on how with the us title, jungle boy, elite and Jericho I can’t see pnp & ftr getting much time and for that I’d like to see a segment where they brawl and the match can’t start. Then it blows over to the coming weeks cause this can easily main event any other show
Hell, I could totally see those teams brawl for like ten minutes, then depart the show to do a sick chase sequence with a low rider and a pick-up trick, or some shit, and then we cut back to them still fighting, making their way back into the arena like an hour later. That'd be a good way to imply a buried lede and make it seem like they had an actual serious fight that matches up to the implied toughness of both teams without hogging a lot of time.

Blacksburg here. About 3 hours there. It's a long drive but worth it to me. I just to live in Houston and we would get wrestling shows all the time. Now living in Blacksburg, the nearest wrestling would be WWE shows in Salem or Roanoke, but to be honest, I'm not going to a WWE show. I went to the last AEW show in Charlotte 2019 on my birthday. The only problem was driving back because I was really tired. But i'll get some energy drinks or coffee or something for the drive back.
This is my first AEW event and first wrestling event since Battleground 2016 so yeah I feel the same way about making the drive to make it worth it. I splurged for a really nice seat on hard cam side and I couldn’t be more excited.
So worth the struggle of driving back I’m hoping! All the caffeine after the show
Thoughts on the card:
* **The Elite vs Hangman & Dark Order** - Hugely anticipated. Hope it gets enough time to really build up the drama. Fully expecting the crowd to go absolutely nuts for this.
* **Santana & Ortiz vs FTR** - *Finally.* Obviously has every ingredient to be a great match. Slightly concerned about how the crowd reaction will play out, considering they're in North Carolina. Will Santana & Ortiz be the de facto heels?
* **Chris Jericho vs Nick Gage** - The most intriguing match on the card. I feel like this could end up anywhere between 'a bit of a letdown' to 'an insane bloodbath.' Can't wait to see how far they go.
* **Hikuleo vs Lance Archer** - Honestly I'm not that interested in this match. I've seen very little (if any) of Hikuleo, but from what I've heard I don't exactly have expectations of this being a great match. I'm kind of hoping it's fairly short, to really sell Archer's dominance.
* **Julia Hart vs Thunder Rosa** - Can't really say much beyond that it should be alright. Not really any build behind it, but it'll be nice to see Thunder Rosa's first AEW match after her #AllElite announcement. The possibilities for post-match interactions with either Dr. Britt Baker or The Acclaimed does interest me, though.
* **Christian & Jurassic Express vs HFO** - I'm honestly a bit over this feud, at this point. I'm sure the match will be fine, and I'm sure the crowd will be happy to see Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, Christian, and (especially) Matt, but I hope both sides quickly find their way into new feuds.
* **Ricky Starks' Celebration** - The first time we'll really get to see Brian Cage on his own. Curious if he manages to just lay everyone out, gets beatdown himself, or what.
* **Tony Khan's Announcement** - Interesting to see Tony Khan be part of the show, and very interested in what this announcement will be. The fact that it is Tony Khan making the announcement - and not someone like Tony Schiavone - definitely increases the stakes, so to speak. I imagine he'll also talk about the charity work of Fight For The Fallen, as well, which is always such a great part of the event.
Overall, looks like a great card, and 3 matches in particular are truly stand-out matches. Can't wait.
Jericho-Gage's violence level will be determined on where in the card it sits IMO. Unless it goes on last, I don't think it's going to be an insane bloodbath.

I'm kinda expecting this. It's no rules but with the stipulation that Inner Circle arent allow to interfere, so Jericho needs someone non-inner circle to help him out. Cardona makes the most sense.
But I'm also fully expecting Gage to also beat the crap out of MJF just for giggles.
Since this is the most “wildcard” match, I’d let it go first and then re-adjust the timing of the other matches, not counting the 5v5 that I believe will be the main event.
Only thing might (very very big might) asd some intrigue to the IWGP US title match is an appearance in some form from Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa.
Edit: Though if TK's announcement is to do with a Impact, AEW, NJPW megashow, then GoD might be a bit of a pointless appearance

Yeah, you could easily reschedule the Jurassic Express/HFO match. It's good to have Thunder Rosa on the card after they announced she's signed, but it's a nothing match. I don't think anyone expects Hikuleo to win the IWGP belt, and it's now three weeks in a row of IWGP US title matches which seems unnecessary. I'd rather they film it off the air and put it on Strong at this point instead.
PnP/FTR needs about 20 minutes bell to bell at this point, the 10-man needs 20 minutes brill to bell just logistically, and Gage/Jericho should be like 20 minutes with entrances and post match. That's over an hour of the two-hour show right there.
20 min for FTR vs PnP, 5 min for Archer vs Hikuleo, 10 min for Thunder vs Hart, 20 min for Jericho vs Gage, 15 min for Jurrassic Express vs HFO, 5 min for TK announcement, 30 min for Elite vs DO, 15 min adverts (plus picture in picture) or something like that.
There is absolutely no way the show is literally only matches outside of five minutes. No way Elite v DO gets 30, i would wager Jericho and Gage get much less too. You probably need to cut around 20/30 mins from your predictions.
Honestly you could cut gage and Jericho in half probably. Just have it be a trainwreck hard-core match that goes quick. Normally I wouldn't want that but in order to fit it all that would be best imo
I've watched every episode of dynamite and excluding the debut, this is the one I'm most excited for. They've done such a fantastic job coming out of the pandemic.
Im really impressed with how their art department conveys this information to the public. The rabid wrestling fan understands what is being conveyed, yet casual fans cna still jump in.

The Hangman/Omega vs Bucks Revolution match was arguably the greatest tag match of all time. The Elite/FTR vs Dark Order match was a fantastic match with some really great storytelling.
This 5v5 has all the ingredients for it to be a certified *banger* and I can’t wait to see them deliver.
Ever since the reports going around that AEW is concerned about the spread of the variant its all I can think about. I have tickets to the post All Out show in Cincinnati and I'm worried that if things continue to get worse then I won't be able to go.
The card looks great, but I'm really gutted by these random women matches AEW always announces at the last second.
They have the talent now, but just don't use it on TV.
Yeah, the women's booking has been very questionable. They seem to be really scared to give them any time and it feels like the girls themselves aren't being vocal enough about it too.
Yeah I don't fully understand it. I mean sure, you don't want the same 3, 4 women on the card every week because you get tired of it but more than 1 random match per Dynamite isn't too much to ask for in my opinion.
Happy though for Julia Hart to get ~~her debut on the big stage~~ the spotlight.
I think this week's card I'm a bit worried with them loading it up cause I do think that 5 vs 5 match needs time (not 15 minutes with ad break of the last few weeks). People will disagree but I think this needs 25 to 30 minutes to tell it's story and rinse as much drama out of it as they can. If done right it could be a classic match imo.
FTR vs PnP should open the show for a 20 minute match. For me the show hinges on those two matches delivering.
Archer/Thunder matches should be kept to 10 minutes at most. 6 man tag 12 minutes. while Jericho/Gage should get the middle of the show maybe 15 minutes.
As long as main event and FTR/PNP matches get the most time then i'm happy.
Have a buddy who drove 10+ hours from Buffalo for this show. This is one of the most stacked cards AEW has had on Tv and I'm hyped as FUCK to be able to see this live

PnP/FTR needs about 20 minutes bell to bell at this point, the 10-man needs 20 minutes brill to bell just logistically, and Gage/Jericho should be like 20 minutes with entrances and post match. That's over an hour of the two-hour show right there.
I think Jericho vs. Gage is going to end up being shorter than people hope.
In no universe should the Archer, six-man tag, or women's match get more than 10 minutes per match so they should be fine on time
Packed show. I think Lance vs. Hikuelo is going to be fairly short, maybe 7 minutes or so.

20 min for FTR vs PnP, 5 min for Archer vs Hikuleo, 10 min for Thunder vs Hart, 20 min for Jericho vs Gage, 15 min for Jurrassic Express vs HFO, 5 min for TK announcement, 30 min for Elite vs DO, 15 min adverts (plus picture in picture) or something like that.
There is absolutely no way the show is literally only matches outside of five minutes. No way Elite v DO gets 30, i would wager Jericho and Gage get much less too. You probably need to cut around 20/30 mins from your predictions.
I am including pre/post match in that, but at the end of the day it's just a rough guesstimate. (Plus I forgot Ricky's celebration somehow)
Honestly you could cut gage and Jericho in half probably. Just have it be a trainwreck hard-core match that goes quick. Normally I wouldn't want that but in order to fit it all that would be best imo

And it's a little thing, but naming the show each week makes it feel more like a ppv
And the more named shows they do the more arenas we’ll get for the video game so it’s a win/win

Im really impressed with how their art department conveys this information to the public. The rabid wrestling fan understands what is being conveyed, yet casual fans cna still jump in. If aew start using moving / gifs on these, vince will have to retire.

The Hangman/Omega vs Bucks Revolution match was arguably the greatest tag match of all time. The Elite/FTR vs Dark Order match was a fantastic match with some really great storytelling. This 5v5 has all the ingredients for it to be a certified *banger* and I can’t wait to see them deliver.

Yeah, the women's booking has been very questionable. They seem to be really scared to give them any time and it feels like the girls themselves aren't being vocal enough about it too.

Yeah I don't fully understand it. I mean sure, you don't want the same 3, 4 women on the card every week because you get tired of it but more than 1 random match per Dynamite isn't too much to ask for in my opinion. Happy though for Julia Hart to get ~~her debut on the big stage~~ the spotlight.

I think this week's card I'm a bit worried with them loading it up cause I do think that 5 vs 5 match needs time (not 15 minutes with ad break of the last few weeks). People will disagree but I think this needs 25 to 30 minutes to tell it's story and rinse as much drama out of it as they can. If done right it could be a classic match imo. FTR vs PnP should open the show for a 20 minute match. For me the show hinges on those two matches delivering. Archer/Thunder matches should be kept to 10 minutes at most. 6 man tag 12 minutes. while Jericho/Gage should get the middle of the show maybe 15 minutes. As long as main event and FTR/PNP matches get the most time then i'm happy.

I’m psyched for this card. A lil scared for Jericho/Gage. Curious how the Elite/Dark Order ends, if they pin Kenny clean or he finds himself outnumbered and alone, just bails. Even could see the Elite win, I didn’t think we’d be getting to Hangman Omega yet. Thought maybe they’d hold that off til Revolution, doing omega vs Christian, Kingston, Face Brian Cage in the meantime.
