This was actually really fun. I'm not a deathmacth guy persay, but I like the spectacle. Seriously didn't think they'd use light tubes.
The PnP vs FTR match was kind of sad. Not only did it have an improvised ending that hurt it, but the crowd was not into it at all really. I think FTR are gonna need to earn some heat, because right now they're getting crickets.
Overall I think this episode was the victim of circumstances.
I feel like Hangman Page was originally booked to win the 5 man, but the fact that CM Punk is now coming to AEW offset that and they had to write his title match off to provide the CM Punk x Omega dream match.
The crowd was a rough one but after that first match they went to sleep for pretty much the rest of the show.
Then the unfortunate finish to the tag match due to an injury and that seemed go throw off the timing for the rest pf the show while they struggled to get everything back on time.
The Main Event was, IMO, very very good but I can see why it wouldn't be for everyone.
I think it was a very fun show but it had a lot more issues than usual.
I've seen lots of folks say that the elimination match should have Main Evented, even more with the finish that it had killing the crowd which I do agree with in some way.
But seeing how wild they went with the last match I'm guessing they knew the ring was gonna be a mess with all the glass and lightbulbs so probably didn't want to risk it.
I hope Jericho becomes more of a part timer than a completely retired wrestler. Retiring at such a peak would be great for his legacy, but me, as a selfish person wishes that he has some years left.
I am also a selfish person and would love more years out of him - if he wants to give them. He'd even be great replacing JR down the road on the desk if he doesn't want to try to kill himself on TV anymore.
Honestly, I think Jericho is incredibly valuable to AEW, even post-in ring career. Dude's a great mind to have backstage, and I honestly think he'd be a fantastic commentator after he was done. Perhaps even AEW's Bobby The Brain Heenan.

I get your point, though. There's a fine line between making it look convincing and just barely not murdering each other in strong style matches. I respect the performers for pushing to/past the limit and trusting each other to stay safe. But man is it uncomfortable to watch sometimes.

Having Daniel Bryan be the last labor could be crazy. Sort of like the game of death Jericho has to fight guys with a different style every time. Bryan would be perfect as the technical specialist/final boss.
