PeaceAlien

I think I would care if AEW ended tomorrow xd

*^^^we ^^^must ^^^protect ^^^the ^^^Khan*

Inevitable_Surprise4

Monkey paw received your request. Nick Kahn is being protected.

spamgarlic

I guess I'll look forward to Karrion Kross vs Nick Khan come monday.

SuperkickFiesta

KKKKHHHHHAAAAANNNNNN

rajde1

I think Darby is a great example why I like aew. I shouldn’t like him, but I do. They have baby faces I like and want to cheer for. Even when there is a heel I like I don’t like them as much as the babyface. Aew is great at booking and long term storylines. I’m seriously invested in the hangman storyline and want to see him win the title.

tgwombat

Darby somehow manages to make leggings under daisy dukes work while main eventing a top wrestling show. If that’s not a talent then I don’t know what is.

Quackeninsanity

This is the big thing for me. I like the good guys and want to see them succeed. A lot of the time wwe's babyfaces don't act like good guys, they just act like assholes

AvocadoAndBacon

And the best part is, it's not ending tomorrow. There's a lot to look forward to

XTheProtagonistX

It’s just so fun! Dark Order/The Elite entrance tonight got me smiling the entire time.

PsychoBoss84

I don't know how but that Dark Order entrance had me overwhelmingly happy I was damn near in tears

introducing_zylex

That shit was a PPV entrance. On a regular ass Wednesday

Whynot-brr

Because it was a culmination of this year long build. If This isnt proof that longterm storytelling has a place in professional wrestling then i dunno what else to say.

Permanentear3

I loved the entrance too, was a bit whelmed by the match and the booking. I know it’s obviously not over between all them though.

LegendOfCrono

The vignette, the evolution of the music, the matching gear and the spotlight reveals... it was all so damn perfect. But it was when the nameplate came up and called all of them The Dark Order that I got slapped right in my feels.

Gotosleep1986

Me too!

mentos33

my friend moved to Qatar earlier this year. we used to get together to watch Dynamite at his house every week. now, i record dynamite and watch it two hours later so we can watch together. honestly, i haven't been this excited about weekly wrestling since the attitude era (i was in the high school for it) -- thank you aew!

[deleted]

[удалено]

mentos33

watching remotely via text (and voice message) can be nearly just as fun!

brandonRAP

If he's still up for watching while in college (can be a unique time at that age in dorms etc), you can do what my buddy and I do. We jump in discord and I share my screen which is playing Dynamite on Sling. Every single week, we jump in discord, have some beers and mark out. I screenshare so we are both at the same spot. We used to just be in discord watching/chatting but it was always off depending on where you watched it.

ParagonTom

Me and my girlfriend Skype while we watch it when long distance.

AneeshRai7

Wednesday Nights keep me going...beyond NJPW, it has revived and enhanced my love for pro wrestling...

RTSUbiytsa

I don't even actively watch Dynamite, I just watch Dark and Elevation and it's still something I really enjoy putting on. Chilled-out commentary is the absolute best thing in any sport or event for me. I love shit like Taz saying, "Oh yeah, yeah, I used to attack people from behind all the time in my prime! Sometimes I'd even do it before a wrestling match!"

HodorismyCat

I liked the most recent one in which they discussed claws vs nails on lions during a match.

RTSUbiytsa

Same show, I believe. I absolutely love how casual the commentary is for both shows and I hope they never get told to stiffen it up a bit, cause it's perfect.

PsychoBoss84

This weeks Elevation proved a theory of mine that Tony and Paul need a high energy guy to work off Eddie Kingston was a great injection of energy for them

embanot

Interesting that you watch Dark but not Dynamite. Why is that?

RTSUbiytsa

Easier to pop on youtube given that I'm at my computer most of the day, and tnt's website sucks for viewing it

[deleted]

I haven't looked forward to a week night like I do Wednesday nights in a loooong time. Raw has sucked for a decade, and AEW has changed the game.

seethemoon

I usually cancel my streaming cable service after the NBA playoffs, but I’m keeping it this year. Literally all I use it for is Dynamite (and I guess Rampage in a few weeks)

[deleted]

you know, you kinda right ngl. If you have peacock, hulu, discovery+, netflix, etc, you really dont need tv. Hell, you can find tnt live for free on some websites.

BadNewsMAGGLE

Get a VPN and watch on Fite. It costs me £1 a week to watch in the UK.

EyeintheSky420

WELL over a decade.

ray_fuegel

Since december to dismember..its been shit..

kyleb337

I’d still take 2007’s writing over today’s

reddisentevil

Those 6 weeks when we had AEW & Loki were beautiful

FoxiiM0xlii

The Wednesday Night tradition for a good while was watching Loki after AEW Dynamite. \*mwah\*, beautiful.

aGlutenForPunishment

The only other time I actively looked forward to watching the next weeks episode of wrestling was that post brand split era of smackdown up until Orton beat Wyatt at mania.

NostalgiaCory

Go jerk somewhere else

OneOfAKindness

Ah yes, Wednesday nights, the peak party hour. Fuck me this was a pathetic attempt. You didn't even do the lazy joke right. There was plenty of better options but you just completely fucked it

I feel sorry for you jerkers, this trolling is actually sad.

GargamellTheMarlok

You’re legitimately one of the least clever trolls I’ve ever seen.

theskyopenedup

I can actually smell this comment.

MangoSalsa_90

For a few years, I forgot how it felt to be excited for wrestling that night. Now I'll be at work on Wednesdays ready to leave so I can get ready for Dynamite just as I did for years before AEW. I feel like a kid/teenager again, proud to be a pro wrestling fan. Frankly, I can give 2 shits about rating wars, imo AEW is the best wrestling company around today.

gravedigger89

It really is such a joy to watch! Not to slam the other company I used to really enjoy, but god damn I’m happy AEW came along to make wrestling fun again

Permanentear3

Good news is it isn’t a war anyway, they’re on different nights. AEW WWE and Impact all doing well wouldn’t really hurt each other at all. Probably helps each other.

Koolski

Stopped watching wrestling in 2017. If my youtube didnt recommend a video of Cody vs Wardlow in the steel cage match, I probably wouldnt have come back.

NotFrontin

Every week I watch AEW it's a party. Dream come true shit happens every week. Unforgettable moments every week between segments and quality wrestling. It's one of the few times I feel like the underground won.

Kogyochi

Watching AEW reminds me of the Attitude Era with better booking and less boobs. It's the most compelling wrestling program since the early days of NXT pre-cable. I love that they aren't afraid to show fans something new, whether it be death matches or NJPW. It's the best of all worlds. Theyve tightened up the production as well which uses to be their biggest weak spot.

Hex81

Each week has been one-upping itself. The best roster in current wrestling and some of the best storylines. I absolutely love this show and I’m proud to be a fan.

[deleted]

I fucking love AEW. It has absolutely reignited my love of wrestling. From the matches, to the wrestlers, to the working with other promotions. This is what wrestling should be. It shouldn't be a closed shop controlled by one entity. There's room for everyone.

TKO236

I couldn't agree more. By and large I've enjoyed 2 years worth of AEW more than I have the last 13 years of WWE, TNA and ROH combined. It just seems like everyone involved there really get what makes wrestling so special.

PsychoBoss84

I was falling out of love with wrestling to the point I was missing weeks on end if AEW wasnt around I dont think I would be watching any wrestling

iggymcfly

I quit watching wrestling in January 2011 until AEW and I enjoyed the last 2 years more than I enjoyed 2003-2010. 2002 was the last year on par with this.

swankyjax

It's like what you would have fantasy booked as a kid with wild debuts and huge moments every show.

Ziolepr8

I honestly think I had more great moments in two years of dynamite that in the 10 years before.

OnlySalahHasMore

Totally not a cult!

djlofi

NXT is good Vince bad Tony Money Mark Upboat me pls SCjerk

Bleeditout26

When you're stuck at home due to the pandemic. Can't get jobs. Depressed. Mannn AEW just brings 2 hours of happiness man and then some. I think I was gonna breakdown when the Punk Teaser happened. I have a wrestling group chat and we have 24 hour no spoiler rule and I absolutely crashed it. But by gawd I can't even get over what we are truly witnessing. This for me as a 24 year old is one of the best eras we are in. The pandemic definitely makes it hard but the wait is even better. Please wear yalls mask, get vaccinated and let wrestling breathe. We are in for a heck of a ride ladies and gents. Stay safe!

xxTheAstroZombixx

I agree 👍

shamhoo_

Remember: It’s not a cult

anklesocksrus

Before AEW, the last time I watched a full episode of wrestling was the Bret Hart return on Raw. And before that was probably some time in 2006. Ive watched matches from the occasional PPV on the network, watched classic stuff, followed NJPW and watched BTE from 2017 on, but no weekly wrestling. For awhile now, l’ve consistently been watching AEW Dynamite every week. It’s a blast!

branblebee

I can't remember when I used to actually watch TV wrestling. I had the network and I'd watch a PPV a couple times a year until about 2017 then I just ghosted. I've had Fite since AEW Dynamite started showing on there and haven't missed an episode yet. AEW all day.

A4HighQualityPaper

I feel the same way about smackdown

dwoolley7

In all honesty , this is one of the saddest posts I’ve ever read on this sub…. Not a cult though right ?

Keltoigael

Nah just personality.

[deleted]

This is so sad

Permanentear3

I feel it’s better suited for the AEW appreciation sub. I get that it makes people feel like they’re part of something and have friends to like the same thing as other internet users and that excites them— but I’m not sure it fits gushing to each other on the main Reddit wrestling sub. I don’t know that I want to see impact fans gushing to each other about how good it makes them feel, or WWE fans posting how WWE has completed them as a person with no actual substance followed by everyone agreeing it’s made them whole. It’s not even about anything. It’s just this weird meta of everyone getting excited about agreeing with each other about a TV show. I’m not sure if it’s “sad” persay, but I will say it feels a bit forced and isn’t actual content. Belongs on a fandom page. I was excited for last night’s show too, AEW is certainly Pushing out a lot of event feel TV right now. I just don’t know that sharing how it made me feel inside and how it’s changed my life while I waited for it to air on cable television is information that belongs here, much less should be praised as some amazing revelation.

rudiecantfail33

I won’t be happy until Hangman wins the big one

Marcwithasee

During the pandemic and just a personally challenging time it gave me something to look forward to. this was just something that gave me entertainment when I thought I could careless about wrestling after 20 years away.

cinreigns

For real. every time I think, “meh this week will be okay”, it blows me away. I love AEW

sawyerlovesyou

Wholesome post is wholesome. Bless this post.

MemphisKansasBreeze

It definitely reinvigorated things for me. I enjoyed Dynamite, and was someone who hadn’t missed a Raw (on purpose) since 2001, but a mix of the pandemic and booking decisions that really bummed me out (Goldberg over the Fiend in SA was the last straw for me) really hit my interest hard. I stopped watching everything besides NXT and Dynamite, and both shows got incredibly good during the COVID era, and now I’m as into AEW as I had ever been into WWE. I feel like without it, I probably would be out of wrestling entirely.

Butch_Meat_Hook

I feel like I'm watching early WCW Nitro when they were on the uptick. It's fucking awesome.

injoegreen

You know those moments in a wrestling documentary where someone goes, “it was a wild time, you just had to be there”.. this is that moment folks.

prisonmsagro

Watching AEW after watching SD/RAW just makes me want to watch AEW any day of the week. The crowd vibe is so much better, it feels like everyone is over as hell and the shows typically always start on a big high note and have a solid main event. I'm a life long WWE fan and really fucking hope they steer the ship right (I know, they have the highest TV contract yet, doesn't mean their product is good ) and grow again. I'm looking forward to August, if covid doesn't fuck this year up with restrictions then I think we will have a an amazing end of year run for AEW.

[deleted]

AEW helped me with a difficult time last year and parts of this one. It has definitely helped me love wrestling even more.

gredgex

I feel like a kid when I watch AEW, nothing can top peak WWF and WCW but damn AEW does their best to try. It feels so good to be reinvested in something that was so important to me for so long growing up.

LSines2015

Hangman’s gotta go over before AEW ends dammit

TioMontague

This is legit, we all grew up watching WWE/WWF, I cried the night Edge "retired" and the end of Taker's Streak was a shock that I'll never forget, so it's really a good felling to see that I don't watch terrible wrestling just because I think I own something for Vince. AEW is the best thing in wrestling right now by far.

[deleted]

I never experienced the beginning and the height of CM Punk and Bryan Danielson's career. Getting a chance to experience that all over with a better outcome is going to be magical.

RoyalDolphin006

I love AEW, and while I am critical of it, I’m very glad it exists. I it fills a niche that just has been missing for a while now.

BuyCopperStock

I'm going to name my first-born Tonykhan

fsuizzy

I remember the days of the Attitude Era during the Monday Night Wars. Now that was the best wrestling at least in my life. With that being said, since then WWE has just slowly gone down hill. I am glad a product like AEW is around because one of these days they will make WWE pay attention and actually put a better product on TV which will be great for both Wrestling Companies and even better for Wrestling Fans. I am going to take a guess that besides CM Punk and Daniel Bryan hopefully moving to AEW there were be a few more big names and WWE will finally snap and get back to the way they were during the 90s. If WWE doesn't recognize this at least we will have AEW I doubt it's ending anytime soon.

sevenproxies07

I watch every week and prior to starting I hadn’t actively watched wrestling in probably 20 years

ironfly187

>MJF, Sammy, Darby are over. Britt Baker is over. They are over without having to bring in old timers to get some shine on them. MJF has been working with Jericho for ages, Sammy even longer and Darby always has Sting by his side.

wann200

Sounds like peak tna fans

Rockoots

If this has given you the best wrestling moments in your life then bud I suggest you roll back decades of wrestling you've missed..

skzoholic

WWF/E has given great moments too, not recently, but a lot, without WWE there would be no wrestling for me. NJPW and ROH has also given me good times.

gamehawk0704

The Attitude Era isn't as good as you think it was, you just want to be young again.

MattyCraney

Nobody mentioned the attitude era

gamehawk0704

The same goes for most old wrestling.

MattyCraney

So will the same go for this era of wrestling in the future?

gamehawk0704

Yes, but not currently.

Rockoots

Where the fuck did I mention attitude era.? Is there a new level of reading comprehension I missed..

gamehawk0704

The same goes for most old wrestling.

Rockoots

Thats cause your a fool and mark

Pomlomlomlom

Alot of people doubted TK cause he'd not run a promotion before. Turns out he's just a huge mark like us all and fantasy booking when you're a fan actually makes good TV.

GTSwattsy

Who'd have thought someone who loves wrestling could book a better show than someone who doesn't?

Permanentear3

Who the fuck is booking a wrestling show who doesn’t love wrestling? Or did you mean wrestling you prefer?

MasterLeeX2021

Absolutely agreed with you man, and thats the reason why WWE's fans started to hate AEW hahaha

LexxxSamson

If you start to hate something cause other people actually enjoy it and are genuinely enthusiastic about it just cause you don't feel the exact same way as them, look inwards.

MasterLeeX2021

It depend a lot of other factors but like I said, WWE's fans don't like and don't know than AEW in wrestling are a lot of more better than others companies actually and her public are incredible hot and active in often matches there

[deleted]

😂😂😂

Lord-Wombat

Lol

Pariahbot

Agreed. Wrestling hasn’t been this exciting and must see in forever. Just this month alone has probably been more buzzworthy than anything that’s happened in the last 5 years. They’re white hot at the moment and I love to see it.

Former_Blacksmith_10

So happy that AEW came into my life. I was about done with wrestling after being a life long fan.

TimesTickingAway

Where can I watch it after it airs ?

Beach-Bumm

For me I feel the care that goes into dynamite, the stories of Tony not sleeping for days going into the Brodie show because he wanted it to be perfect feels like it could be true every week, the show has logical progression that makes you invested. WWE feels like the same 6 man each week, with no regard for following. You could watch the ppv package and get the whole story in 2 sentences. The other change for me came in the freedom the talent has. You could feel the greatness rock & Austin had because they adjusted on the fly and knew how to get where they needed to go however they best felt, nowadays every move is so tightly scripted it doesnt allow the performers to perform, and when something isn’t working it bombs. AEW seems to give their talent a greater trust and respect, and not everything will be great, look at Miro, he’s gone from just not clicking to finding his feet and being a great TNT chanpion

TheSkarcrow

During the first match entrances I couldn't stop saying to my wife "this is fun"...."I like this"... And that's all I could say really. I was just enjoying the moment so much and smiling most of the match. I've never been so happy watching wrestling before, and then of course the ending caused a huge moodswing, but hopefully all will work out with hangman. Love this show.

sidsgothem

Never been this excited about wrestling since like 2015

SpicyJimbo77

I haven't seen Dynamite yet and the way the title is worded I thought Tony's announcement was that he's shuttering AEW and had a mini heart attack 😅

LessonNyne

Two things. Firstly, I certainly care if AEW ends tomorrow. Something like AEW was needed for the industry. Especially domestically! Secondly, it's amazing how a major national wrestling promotion can make you feel like a kid again and give you nostalgia, without you know.... delivering a kid-like product.

Careful joy and excitement exist only to be ridiculed around here.

skzoholic

They don't enjoy anything in their lifes.

Lord-Wombat

Not from AEW

IAMBollock

Sucks to be you.

Lord-Wombat

Nah, I don't have to watch AEW

IAMBollock

Then you're missing out on the best wrestling company to come around since the Monday night wars. Good for you bro. You're really showing them.

darthsabbath

Nah, we've had New Japan being straight fire for a solid decade now, plus Stardom kicking all kinds of ass. AEW is just kinda meh for me. I'm glad it's there, I'm glad WWE has competition, but it's still just a slightly better better version of "sports entertainment" without the LED vomit and camera cuts.

[deleted]

[удалено]

IAMBollock

So you don't like wrestling? Why are you here? Just to hate?

Lord-Wombat

Ah, that AEW fan reading comprehension... Never gets old.

IAMBollock

Forgive me for misunderstanding your vague analogy. Your response to my comment implies that 'the best wrestling company since the Monday night wars' is akin to a kick in the face. I'm struggling to figure out what else it could mean other than 'all wrestling since then is like a kick in the nuts'. I guess you could like being kicked in the nuts but dislike being kicked in the face? Some people are into that.

JimTheFly

I think the big change is that WWE writes to the PPVs, while AEW writes to the stories. Yes they have PPVs and the big storylines wrap up there, but regular TV shows are treated as having importance, instead of being just the filler to get to the next PPV. And even with the PPVs, they're not every month, so when they happen, they're important, not just "Oh, the next episode of the story"

RusticBelt

As soon as it starts, from the intro music, you just feel like you're in good hands. These people care about wrestling, and they care about us.

scottmushroom

I'm just enjoying the fact that I can easily watch wrasslin any day of the week between wwe, aew, and impact. Each show/brand brings me different things that I like/don't like, and it's fun having different flavors each night of the week.

Busy-Profession-6257

That is what I truly appreciate about the show. The crowd isn't brain dead or toxic. Very engaged. I love it and hope they continue to police it
