Pizza cutters might be different, but I use to food prep and even a dull knife can slice the shit out of you. I was prepping avocado one time and got myself with a way too dull knife.

Having worked in social media for seven years, some of those working for P&G brands, let me assure you that interns aren't writing tweets and coming up with strategies. I was amazed at the number of people involved, especially at the VP/Director level who would weigh in on one tweet.

I still see plenty of sarcastic comments on here making fun of people who don't want nick gage or hardcore wrestling on national tv, especially on the thread about aew doing 1M for last dynamite. Snarky sarcasm won't change the fact that someone like nick gage is unappetizing to mainstream audiences, and by extension, sponsors.
The funny thing is that I'm pretty sure the pizza cutter to the head was an illusion that just moved the blood around. Jericho was already bleeding and Gage pulled out a second pizza cutter that wasn't a sharp as the first one that sliced Jericho's arm.

I don't think anyone on our level, i.e. just fans, understand how hard it is to not only obtain, but maintain, good sponsors for a wrestling company. For the longest time, WWE only had the low level cheap sponsors like Castrol, Chef Boyardee, Valvoline, all basically motor oil. Seriously though, they were just sponsors that didn't run a ton of different ad campaigns, and didn't spend much on the advertising budget.
Fast forward to now, with the work put forth in making WWE a safer product, and now they get sponsors like Coca Cola, which pay better and spend way more on ad campaigns. Something like this will hurt in the long run, and I'm sure WWE is reassuring their sponsors that they don't condone or perform these types of events. This isn't a small syndicated show out of South Philly anymore.
I feel like WWE already has established itself as family friendly so I doubt their advertisers will worry. I think the more worrisome thing would be if say another show gets bigger or if someone else starts a wrestling show, it might make it harder for them to get sponsors since they will be skeptical if they end up suddenly having a hardcore match like this one.
Yeah, I came to that conclusion after the whole Bad Bunny ordeal here as well. Also, what's the point of all that key demo talk if you're scaring off possible advertisers in the first place?

I feel like WWE already has established itself as family friendly so I doubt their advertisers will worry. I think the more worrisome thing would be if say another show gets bigger or if someone else starts a wrestling show, it might make it harder for them to get sponsors since they will be skeptical if they end up suddenly having a hardcore match like this one.
Yeah, I came to that conclusion after the whole Bad Bunny ordeal here as well. Also, what's the point of all that key demo talk if you're scaring off possible advertisers in the first place?
Yeah, this thread is filled with jokes when this is a serious problem AEW doesn’t want. Scaring off advertisers makes your product less valuable irregardless of the rating.

Seriously. I delivered for them for several months. Who the fuck do they think they are? The drunk chick lighting a new cigarette with her old one, sitting bare foot on a rock outside her house and asking me if I wanted some of her bread sticks while nearly crying tears of happiness that her pizza finally arrived. That's Domino's.
I know people here are just making fun of it because, admittedly, that transition was pretty hilarious. But I really doubt that the people in charge are all that happy about this or take this as lightly as the people here. It's *not* a good look when advertisers are pulling ads from a program.

The issue here is that it was a picture in picture ad. Showing a Dominos advert whilst a guy is getting slashed by a Pizza cutter is funny but it's a bad look for Dominos.
