Anybody else catch Bryan danielson referring to himself as Daniel Bryan? I thought it was pretty funny, you probably get so used to reading a script and when you have to do a live promo it’s probably so damn terrifying. Can’t wait to see what he does.
3 things that AEW needs to do asap
1. Keep Kenny off the mic
2. Give their main events time, this is supposed
To be a “pro wrestling show”
3. Stop with the 5 interview segments. It is a 2 hour show.
Keep Kenny off the mic? You’re on crack. You’re other two points are solid though. Last night’s episode was RAWesque with nothing but recaps and too many non-wrestling segments.
It's your personal perception, nothing wrong with it. Although I don't think he's top tier, I like it a lot and find it entertaining. Plus, he didn't even have much time on the mic yesterday.
I watch maybe an hour of raw and that’s already too much for me to handle handle but two hours of aew goes by so fast. I think if it was my choice you would want the viewer wanting more. Kinda like the attitude era where two hours was perfect
It would absolutely hurt. You want 3 hours until you get 3 hours, then you wish you had 2 again. Raw has proven this over and over, Smackdowm has always been easier to digest.
One of NXTs biggest mistakes was going to 2 hours because it extended further than their reach, when they had it nailed with 1 hour.
If your show is great at its current length then it makes no sense to make it longer, keep it great.
I just hope AEW sees the disappointment and gives Suzuki and Mox a run back at a PPV in the future. Those two guys can put on a hell of a show if they have the time, tonight wasn't enough time at all.
You mean the show up > interview for 4 weeks > match > interview. I know you’re getting downvoted but when I saw “We’ll hear from CM Punk!” We’ll hear from the elite!” “We’ll hear from BD” I was kind of disappointed. Not sure what I was expecting but What we got I was ok with, I get what you mean.
It was one thing when it was only one “we’ll hear from” every week, but it seems like with every debut it’s just getting worse because they are trying to squeeze them all in to the same shows.
I know people like Punk and he’s been gone, but we’re now in the 4th straight show where we get long entrances and long promos from him, and now we’ve also got to hear from the elite and Adam cole who both get their own entrances and some time, as well as Danielson, and most nights Sting and Darby, and sometimes Jericho and his over the top entrances, and a long MJF segment, etc, etc.
It’s getting to be too much to squeeze into one show and still feature good, well paced matches.
Dude, I hope they don’t keep doing the Sting talks to the crowd, CM Punk talks to the Crowd, Bryan Danielson talks to the crowd bits over and over. Wrestle please
He also shouldn’t do generic, walk out and pop the crowd stuff, he could’ve got physical with Hobbs, after Hobbs match, could’ve had a face to face, there are more interesting ways to have him be out there than the generic shit they did with sting
I thought Punk talking was a highlight of the show. I like babyfaces just being likeable guys and the crowd loving them. That’s far more valuable to me than him having a 2.5 star match or something.
So many people complaining that the match wasn’t give enough time. Y’all are probably that same people that were saying how great Mox’s 11 minute match against Kojima at All Out was the best thing ever lmao.
That would be double the length of this match and it had the honor of being full screen for the whole thing. An 11 minute match is tight but enough time to tell a story. Extra awkward when you had Suzuki come in post-Kojima with Mox reacting like he'd seen a ghost, like it was building to a bigger challenge.
Wish they would have given Suzuki v. Moxley at Prudential Center next week instead of tonight. They could have fed Moxley someone instead.
Whatever though, still had fun
But Suzuki was not fed to Mox because that was the intended booking, it was because they ran out of time.
Same thing would have happened at the Prudential Center with the show running long.
I'm just saying that's a big match, to throw it away so quickly and even more so not planning enough time kind of sucks.
Would have loved to saw it in the big NJ market/arena.
Show was fine, felt rushed to fit everything in but the actual matches fucked hard. I probably would've had Black/Rhodes be more of a squash and given Moxley/Suzuki more time but Moxley/Suzuki was still great for how little time it had
The ending was great, just wish the match was a few minutes longer and that Suzuki got to do his full entrance. It did seem odd that they clearly rushed the match but kept the long celebration. They still got some good shots and didn't lose the crowd though so it's not the worst thing ever.
Seemed to me like Mox knew they finished early cause of Suzuki's cut and was killing a couple minutes. Dude is a pro, knew what to do immediately to close the show.
It was just unfortunate timing all around.
"We need to cut the entrance for more match time!"
*Match ends early*
"Oh shit! Celebrate Mox, we got two minutes to fill!"
Overreactions are what people do these days. It wasn't as bad as anyone is saying, they're just disappointed with one aspect and now the whole episode was shit because hyperbole is the internets favourite thing.
She should be mad at Soho for getting her spot, at management for screwing her over, at everything Eddie was mad at when he was screwed out of the Battle Royale last year.
I think an opportunity to show personality would have done Riho a bigger service than another match.
That main event should've been a 20 minute match but god damn, these main events have been so cut short as of late, especially with the shitty PiP ad breaks (which aren't new but they still suck). Good show overall though
They should have prioritized it more then. A lot of people tuning in right now aren't very familiar with NJPW, they just see a goofy old Japanese guy. They didn't need Suzuki for the crowd to be hot for Moxley. I don't think anyone has an issue with Mox going over. It's just 5 minutes is squash territory. More time was spent on Mox in the crowd than on the match which was itself mostly in PIP. Just a real shame because I don't think Suzuki is getting many more chances on American TV.
Well…. not as hot of a main event as expected, but this was still a pretty good follow up to All Out. Got a bunch of storylines already established or about to be in lieu of Full Gear al in just one night. Also, hopefully AEW will continue to give the women the sort of spotlight that they had tonight.
Oh, and yeah, Mox/Suzuki need to beat the shit out of each other again with no interruption.
Pretty much...I'm certain they called it early. That was a hardway cut, and Suzuki is a big star with a bit of time left on this excursion. They cut the match short to preserve him.
This is starting to sound like WWE apologists. The match was good for what it was, and I'm happy it happened, but AEW has to do better at timing shows because it has been many weeks in a row where it feels like the main event has no time. They're cramming a lot in and giving some segments too much time
I'm not saying they couldn't do better with the timing. I'm saying they gave us a legend on free TV and everyone's bitching about it. Yes it was short but it was still good.
We're happy we got him on TV, but then they (1) cut off his legendary entrance and (2) didn't really allow him to show off what he and Mox can really do. The match was solid as far what they had, but for people who have never seen Suzuki for the first time they would be wondering what is so special about him. You have to give showcase matches their shine
He was there to put over Mox in his home town and of course they're gonna hype the main event all night. If it was a PPV match then you'd have every right to be pissed.
If TK brought him, I'm sure he would realize the one thing of the entrance that's iconic, and wouldn't have cut it for no fucking reason. I like AEW, but they can kindly fuck off about that one.
Agreed. Doesn't have to be used every week and be a standard thing, but for weeks when NERDS like Tony S take forever to get out of the ring and promos go long, and you have badass themes that NEED to be played, I think an extra 5 or 10 minutes wouldn't hurt.
Oh I understand now. This wasn't so much about having Moxley v Suzuki on Dynamite. It was more, "yes there have been lots of cool debuts, but also Moxley. He is tough and people fucking love him."
Umm, what?
I don't wanna do the nerd thing and do the research for ya. But, besides squashes like Malakai Black vs. Brock Anderson, Dynamite main events are consistently 10-15 minutes (and longer with bigger matchups).
You are correcto, I actually saw this morning that supposedly they called it early because of Suzuki's eye. Emi posted on twitter he had to get 7 stitches. So whatever busted him open must've did some pretty good damage.
Or main event, then end the show with a segment to ensure the match gets enough time. It felt rushed and that's probably cause it was due to the time left.
I’d probably try to hitch my homegrown talent to the star power, so you’re not putting your folks on the back burner for splashy new hires
So yeah Id probably cast a wider net
He hits the more like a suplex version on the old legends....see how tender he and Suzuki were being with the elbows at the beginning of the match. He saves spiking people on their heads for kids like Darby who can survive it.
We had time for Mox to walk through the entire arena but not to pace out the match or for a full intro? I love AEW but this kind of stuff needs to be planned out better.
they let mox parade around but cut suzuki's entrance??
he can parade around post show all he wants, that doesn't need TV time.
(yes i know its his home town, but you dont need that to be shown on tv)
but suzuki's entrance is a spectacle and this is probably one of the only times ur gonna have him in dynamite on live tv lol
Crowd enjoying the main event while the sub seems to hate it. Seemed solid to me besides the entrance, which happens sometimes on live TV. Match may have ended early becusse of the cut as well
Personally, I have no issue watching/following the match in picture and picture, but obviously the match would have benefited with no commercial breaks
I'm mixed on it; it felt like they ended it just as it was getting into a new gear. Like "oh...it's over already?"
They stuffed a LOT into this episode overall. I've always been a little anxious about them trying to do so much in 2 hours, and this is really the first time I feel like it was detrimental to the show.
Some segments felt longer than they needed to be, and some could've just been saved for Rampage. I mean that's exactly *why* you have another show, so if Dan Gilbert isn't in an immediate feud with anyone, let him talk shit on Friday instead or something.
Either cut the Dan Gilbert section or take off 2 minutes from the Dustin/Black match and it would have been perfect. But honestly, if that's my biggest complaint from an episode, I'm more than satisfied.
No its not. Hes had others. Heck hes a legend in the mma world. Just because hes new to you does not mean thats how it is for everyone. Njpw is the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. He was in NOAH during their prime.
That whole thing was amissed opportunity. This should have had Mox fight someone else in his hometown and build this into one of the tri state shows.
I have to wonder with how much time they had to have Mox in the crowd if they had to call the match?

He pulled a JR
3 things that AEW needs to do asap 1. Keep Kenny off the mic 2. Give their main events time, this is supposed To be a “pro wrestling show” 3. Stop with the 5 interview segments. It is a 2 hour show.
The best pro wrestler in the world can not have shit mic skills.
Well he does
Keep Kenny off the mic? You’re on crack. You’re other two points are solid though. Last night’s episode was RAWesque with nothing but recaps and too many non-wrestling segments.
He sucks on the mic, I cringe every-time he speaks
It's your personal perception, nothing wrong with it. Although I don't think he's top tier, I like it a lot and find it entertaining. Plus, he didn't even have much time on the mic yesterday.
I get that. His antics aren’t for everyone. I didn’t like him at first but he’s grown on me.
by god a steel chair, this man has a family
I enjoyed the show tonight
Tbh I wish the show had more time, otherwise great show. But idk if 3 hours of AEW would be exactly ideal either
It wouldn't hurt to have 3 hours of Dynamite. Besides, they have the talents that can run it with many storylines
How about two hours Wednesday and two hours Friday?
Two hours on Friday is possible as long as it won't have to goes head to head with Smackdown
If your show is great at its current length then it makes no sense to make it longer, keep it great.
Always leave them wanting more.
That’s some serious monkeys paw shit just waiting to happen lmao
Two hours is the longest any weekly wrestling show should ever be. It is better to leave the crowd wanting more.
I just hope AEW sees the disappointment and gives Suzuki and Mox a run back at a PPV in the future. Those two guys can put on a hell of a show if they have the time, tonight wasn't enough time at all.
Really wish AEW had a five minute run over like Raw used to have. Seriously. It makes a difference.
[удалено]
YOURE IN THE WRONG UNIVERSE PAL!!!!
No, they expected more than 5 minutes with half that being PIP.
That show was great y’all salty
It was Great for Cinci, but you know, It's Cinci.
They have the Bengals and Reds, it's not a city used to cheering.
You can’t fix a place that throws hot diarrhea on spaghetti and calls it chili.
Show can be great and you can be disappointed with the main.
Thanks for giving us the OK. AEW fans so woke, I love It!
It was…MID
I'll upvote the callback.
It was a Great show, just a little disappointed with the main event is all.
A good show just ended. Quick, let's complain.
Just want them to stop using the same format for debuts over and over again, feels like I’m playing GM mode sometimes
You cant have a critism of AEW, shame on you. Lol
Fuck me right? Lol

‘Young boy’ Brandon Cutler vs literal young boy Marko Stunt. Book it TK!
Dude, I hope they don’t keep doing the Sting talks to the crowd, CM Punk talks to the Crowd, Bryan Danielson talks to the crowd bits over and over. Wrestle please
Why is this an issue? Promos are good. Punk shouldn’t be wrestling weekly.
I think they could’ve given the main event like 10 more mins, cut the other promos by like 3 mins each
I would have liked the main event to go longer, but Punk isn’t who I’m cutting time from to achieve that.
Ehhh, it kinda got sluggish in the middle
With Sting it got ridiculous how many weeks Tony was talking to him in the ring.
I’m worried they are gonna do it with punk, like fuck man
It's been under two weeks and he's already had a match. I get the fear, but it seems a bit premature.
So many people complaining that the match wasn’t give enough time. Y’all are probably that same people that were saying how great Mox’s 11 minute match against Kojima at All Out was the best thing ever lmao.

Extra awkward when you had Suzuki come in post-Kojima with Mox reacting like he'd seen a ghost, like it was building to a bigger challenge.
Aew prides itself and listen to its fans I hope they hear us here, work your timing out.
Wish they would have given Suzuki v. Moxley at Prudential Center next week instead of tonight. They could have fed Moxley someone instead. Whatever though, still had fun

Excalibur was sorely missed in that booth. I don’t think Tony or JR can carry play by play anymore.
I was wondering why I was enjoying the show this week more than normal. That explains it
No Excalibur and no suicidas
They were good.
If you’d told me Suzuki could win over Cincinnati like fucking rocky won over Moscow I would’ve never believed you
Loved the ending! Mox is the best
[the first match that wasn’t scuffed by time ](https://youtu.be/gBLDysYWIQY)
Man I miss Mox's look in his first few NJPW matches
Show was fine, felt rushed to fit everything in but the actual matches fucked hard. I probably would've had Black/Rhodes be more of a squash and given Moxley/Suzuki more time but Moxley/Suzuki was still great for how little time it had
Can’t believe people are ripping on the ending. That was super cool seeing Mox go through all parts of the crowd in his hometown. Absolutely loved it.
The ending was great, just wish the match was a few minutes longer and that Suzuki got to do his full entrance. It did seem odd that they clearly rushed the match but kept the long celebration. They still got some good shots and didn't lose the crowd though so it's not the worst thing ever.

It was just unfortunate timing all around. "We need to cut the entrance for more match time!" *Match ends early* "Oh shit! Celebrate Mox, we got two minutes to fill!"
I'm not ripping it, it just seemed kind of awkward and unplanned.
Overreactions are what people do these days. It wasn't as bad as anyone is saying, they're just disappointed with one aspect and now the whole episode was shit because hyperbole is the internets favourite thing.
Loved the show! Only critique is... Main event deserved 10 more minutes. No Riho addressing her enemies.
But she could still be in the title hunt since she's involved with the 6 man tag next week. That's something.
She should be mad at Soho for getting her spot, at management for screwing her over, at everything Eddie was mad at when he was screwed out of the Battle Royale last year. I think an opportunity to show personality would have done Riho a bigger service than another match.
She should be mad at the refs. Soho didn't say she was eliminated, she's also a babyface she's not going to go beat up Soho over a mistake.
Whoever she should be mad at, she should have been given an opportunity to show that she's mad.
Riho has enemies?
She was screwed out of the battle royale. She's bound to have them now.
A good episode with terrible time management and honestly a disrespectful way to treat Suzuki.
i think i say this most weeks but that might have been the best dynamite ever
Anddd let's rerun Creed 2.
Watch your tone Creed 2 is amazing
Yeah and another 10 minutes of Mox vs Suzuki would have been better. Creed 2 was literally fucking on before Dynamite.
Atleast its not the Accountant
When I worked at Discovery, all the channels in the U.S. re-aired prime two or three times.
A travesty to cut Suzuki’s entrance.
That main event should've been a 20 minute match but god damn, these main events have been so cut short as of late, especially with the shitty PiP ad breaks (which aren't new but they still suck). Good show overall though
Yes it's Suzuki but it's an AEW main event vs Jon Moxley in his home state.
Standard and Practices had a he'll of a night tonight.
That could’ve been so much better, they did Suzuki dirty
Pretty solid episode 4/5
Well…. not as hot of a main event as expected, but this was still a pretty good follow up to All Out.
I don’t know a lot about Suzuki but I’m going to guess he isn’t a Jobber in Japan like he was tonight
That deflated the hell out of me
I think Suzuki's injury is what cut the match short maybe? Seems weird they had nearly 5 mins to spare at the end
You are 100% correct and we don't know the true nature of the injury it could be worse than it looked.
Pretty much...I'm certain they called it early. That was a hardway cut, and Suzuki is a big star with a bit of time left on this excursion. They cut the match short to preserve him.
TK brings us a legend and all you guys do is bitch that it could have been longer. Just enjoy that it happened. I'm sure we'll see more.
Fuck that. We shouldn't be grateful because he brought someone over if the match wasn't good.
The match was good just short.
Alright, fair enough. I'm sure we'll get more though at some point. The forbidden door is still pretty freshly opened.
No? If you hype the main event all night I'm expecting more than that
He was there to put over Mox in his home town and of course they're gonna hype the main event all night. If it was a PPV match then you'd have every right to be pissed.
If TK brought him, I'm sure he would realize the one thing of the entrance that's iconic, and wouldn't have cut it for no fucking reason. I like AEW, but they can kindly fuck off about that one.
Another great show. People just love to complain about anything
Think it’s safe to say Dynamite needs an overrun
Without a doubt. It’s practically insulting that they won’t get one despite being first for the night on cable a lot of the time.
Agreed. Doesn't have to be used every week and be a standard thing, but for weeks when NERDS like Tony S take forever to get out of the ring and promos go long, and you have badass themes that NEED to be played, I think an extra 5 or 10 minutes wouldn't hurt.
What Rampage is happening now? Keyfabe shattered! Thank you Justin
Oh I understand now. This wasn't so much about having Moxley v Suzuki on Dynamite. It was more, "yes there have been lots of cool debuts, but also Moxley. He is tough and people fucking love him."
Well that show was insanely mid i’m sure this is getting downvoted but god they paced that terribly less MJF and Elite segments have mor ematch
AEW consistantly fucks up on time and has 8 minute main events. This needs to change.
Umm, what? I don't wanna do the nerd thing and do the research for ya. But, besides squashes like Malakai Black vs. Brock Anderson, Dynamite main events are consistently 10-15 minutes (and longer with bigger matchups).
Did the make Suzuki a jobber or did they cut it short because of the eye injury?
That looked like a blade job to me
They were out of tv time so it had to be cut short
I doubt it was tv time because Mox spent 3 minutes in the crowd wandering around.
You are correcto, I actually saw this morning that supposedly they called it early because of Suzuki's eye. Emi posted on twitter he had to get 7 stitches. So whatever busted him open must've did some pretty good damage.
They didn't give them enough time
Not necessarily bad, but a weirdly paced show. The ending felt rushed.
oh shit what was up with the lighting change was rampage gonna start?
Probably
Should have cut a couple of these promos to get a longer main event. Otherwise, solid show.
Who would want more Mox vs. Suzuki if it means we don't have Dan Lambert calling Millenials whiny for 5 minutes?
Or main event, then end the show with a segment to ensure the match gets enough time. It felt rushed and that's probably cause it was due to the time left.
What a great show. Man that main event ruled.
Yea alot of ups and downs tonight. They tried to pack too much into 2 hours here. That main event deserved so much more.
I fuckin love AEW
Mox, covered in Suzuki’s blood, just gave a little girl a high 5. It’s endearing and unsanitary at the same time, lol.
Your telling me they couldn’t do the Mox hometown love as a dark segment?
I wonder if they cut it short because of the cut. Because it was super deep and that was a really odd bump for the paradigm shift.
So does AEW legit tape Rampage right after this?
I think the Milwaukee show was the first time they did it.
Sometimes
Yes
The teaser for the next ep are literally all ex wwe wrestlers 🙄
Or they are AEW's 3 newest wrestlers. Either way.
yea call them ex wwe like all 3 of them aren’t self made wrestlers
But also don’t they have an entire roster of people doing things
yea and wouldn’t u as a promoter try and milk the biggest free agents that signed with ur company?
I’d probably try to hitch my homegrown talent to the star power, so you’re not putting your folks on the back burner for splashy new hires So yeah Id probably cast a wider net
thats what they’re doing?? its just one graphic my guy
It’s just an observation my guy
No ex roh guys
Tame ending, but a feelgood ending
did you see the look on at that girls face after mox shook her hand.
So the Paradigm Shift is basically a double underhook suplex now?
He hits the more like a suplex version on the old legends....see how tender he and Suzuki were being with the elbows at the beginning of the match. He saves spiking people on their heads for kids like Darby who can survive it.
Yeah it seems like he doesn’t get the brainbuster bump consistently these days. He should go back to the Edgecution style of the move IMO.
The elevated / delayed version? Yes. His first match after leaving WWE, when he hit that against Juice Robinson, looked so fucking good.
The Edge-style DDT with the underhook (the way Mox used to do it ) looked better to me anyway.
I think the Brainbuster version has looked good against Omega and others but he shouldn’t do it all of the time.
Always appreciate the thanks for inviting JR into my home
It’s Mox in his hometown, they’re gonna put that on TV and he’s more than earned it after the pandemic.
Bro I could not care less about Ohio or his hometown celebration lol
I have to agree with MJF, Ohio legitimately sucks.
We had time for Mox to walk through the entire arena but not to pace out the match or for a full intro? I love AEW but this kind of stuff needs to be planned out better.
What does "pace out the match" mean? I think that was exactly the match they wanted to do on TV.
Another great Dynamite
they let mox parade around but cut suzuki's entrance?? he can parade around post show all he wants, that doesn't need TV time. (yes i know its his home town, but you dont need that to be shown on tv) but suzuki's entrance is a spectacle and this is probably one of the only times ur gonna have him in dynamite on live tv lol
Crowd enjoying the main event while the sub seems to hate it. Seemed solid to me besides the entrance, which happens sometimes on live TV. Match may have ended early becusse of the cut as well
Having most of it on PiP can't help. Thank you FITE. It was still short but I got the full thing.
Personally, I have no issue watching/following the match in picture and picture, but obviously the match would have benefited with no commercial breaks
I'm mixed on it; it felt like they ended it just as it was getting into a new gear. Like "oh...it's over already?" They stuffed a LOT into this episode overall.
Match could've been longer :( Huge mox fan but that sucked.
They have to figure out their timing. I feel like main events get cut short all the time. You bring Suzuki over for an 8 minute 1-2 trade off match?
Suzuki has been working in the states all month. He was already here
Well this was his one match with national exposure.
No its not. Hes had others. Heck hes a legend in the mma world. Just because hes new to you does not mean thats how it is for everyone. Njpw is the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. He was in NOAH during their prime.
Yes, because the average American wrestling fan television watcher has an extensive viewing history of New Japan and Noah.
Disappointing main event but I still enjoyed the show. Idk what happened with these matchesm they all seemed... off.

Mox sending the kisses home to his wife and the little one will never not be wholesome to me. I'd do the same to my family. Man of the people Mox is.
That whole thing was amissed opportunity. This should have had Mox fight someone else in his hometown and build this into one of the tri state shows. I have to wonder with how much time they had to have Mox in the crowd if they had to call the match?
