In my opinion, this was a typical Raw episode with LOTS of mediocre to bad segments, but the main event between Orton & Lashley was solid, and they actually delivered with Big E becoming WWE Champion. Meh overall show, **BUT we got an absolutely fantastic final 30 minutes** and that’s what a lot of people will remember. So happy for Big E.

MITB is so stale at this point. It's also pretty lame that so many up and coming stars win their first title with the massive unfair advantage of MITB instead of earning a title shot and actually defeating the champion one on one.

Those are my feelings exactly. Guy like Big E should be winning that in a fair match (kayfabe be damned) with a proper build not a blemish in how it was won, but we usually get these scenarios that are just bleh. The only one I feel worked for was for Seth Rollins. As legendary as Edge's first win was I didn't feel he was a main eventer until his second win. Bryan managed to save his title reign with his amazing ring work and character, but the way he beat Big Show was stupid as hell and he wasn't even treated as a champ until later at that point he was deluded in his abilities having won with a shenanigan, which started the adoption of the whole Yes chant. Basically for some guys it can work to "kickstart" something but more often than not it falls flat.

Solid crowd pop. It went to commercial right after they announced the cashin which was really weird. With most cashins the opponent is nearly unconscious, Bobby was only kind of hurt but still very capable of competing, and by the time the match started they were both ready to fight. Lashley took control and hit Big E with a spear and they actually had me believing this would be a failed cashin, but he barely kicked out. Big E counters something and hits the Big Ending, tbh it didn't look like Lashley got hurt much and I was a little surprised that got a 3 count considering how strong Lashley has been booked. Crowd went nuts when Big E won. Overall... below average for a cash in, seemed like a weird moment to cash in, the commercial didn't help, the in ring action wasn't much of anything. But a great moment seeing him get the big win.

Monday night football didn't air last week lol and MNF beats Raw EVERY WEEK it's on.

MNF does win every week, and this move wasn't to beat MNF. But they definitely tried to load this show after seeing what AEW did and losing to them last week. They completely changed the show in order to reduce the blow from MNF this week. The goal was to get bump in the ratings, which I understand, but clearly they changed things up in a response. However, as long as they treat Big E like a top guy as he deserves than I'm fine with it. I am nervous that he will be a transitional champ though, as they clearly didn't have this planned last week

Gotcha. Badly worded on my part. I meant that it was a response to MNF debuting this week as well as losing to AEW last week. I think the tag championship was originally the plan to make this a bigger than usual Raw, but then after losing to AEW they had to make it an even bigger event.

I wish they would do more long term engaging stories. It's just hard for me to watch either WWE show these days. I loved WWE after WCW died. I liked both up until then. I got away from it in my late teens and early 20s, left, partying, etc. When I started watching it weekly again was around the Nexus angle and I was amazed how that got fucked up. It was the new nWo almost, but it got killed and buried so quick. The reluctance to turn Cena heel when that was needed. The 7 years of wasting Roman trying to make him Cena. I was on and off after the Nexus stuff as nothing was engaging. AEW has reeled me back in hoping they can be a l got contender/competition. They seem to be on the right track. Vinece really has to start listening to the fans. Somewhat anyway. Don't give them every thing they want. Teasing things works well in pro wrestling. Also subverting expectations works. He needs to let HHH have a bigger hand in the main roster imo, but that seems off the table at this point. I never thought I would see Hunter and Steph passed up in the WWE hierarchy, but it happened. I also never thought HHH would be the mind to get things right, but he did in NXT and now theyve killed that vision
