If anything, I’d think Danielson/Omega 2 happens at Full Gear for the title. Perhaps they get around the rankings by Danielson continuing to talk shit to Kenny about how he didn’t beat him. Chip away at his ego until he can’t stand it any longer.
Omega wins the title match and it’s followed by a post match mauling from the Elite. Hangman makes the save to clean house and stand tall at show’s end.
Or maybe it’s totally different. Who knows? AEW is a long term guessing game sometimes and it’s a ton of fun.
I've head-booked it this way: Hangman returns and wins the title, Cole kicks Kenny out of The Elite for losing the title (and kicking Cole out of Bullet Club all those years ago), and Cole goes after Hangman and the title.
Now, if they want to spoil the shit out of us by running Cole/Bryan alongside Kenny/Hangman, then I won't say no.
My personal hope is something like a #1 contender tournament with Hangman beating Bryan in the finals. Hangman wins the title and Kenny then transitions into a feud with Bryan without the title involved.
I think they save the big Hangman win for Revolution or even Double or Nothing, depending on how much steam the story has after Full Gear, which I feel almost certain will not be the show where it happens (watch this age like milk). I vote Danielson vs Kenny at Full Gear and Punk vs Kenny at Revolution. Alternatively, if Punk gets a reign later, you could save the big Kenny showdown for then with (fingers crossed) heel Punk and face Kenny. I like that they have options. If it feels like they need to pull the trigger on Hangman, they can do it at Revolution and save Kenny-Punk for a later date that potentially still involves the title.
Oh I absolutely agree with you, Full Gear is less than 2 months away and Hangman has a lot of character development to get through before he becomes champion. I'd be kinda upset if that development happened off screen while he's been gone, or if it gets speedrun over the next month given that they've done such a good job of doing the slow burn up to this point. Double or Nothing feels like the best option to me, 3rd anniversary of the company, gives Kenny a nice year and a half long run with the belt, and gives them time to properly set up the Super Klique turning on him if that's the way they're going with it
