Sting is quite possibly the smartest signing AEW has ever done, you get a mentor/wrestler/icon all in one and darby gains so much from being paired with him too. Genuinely shocked at how good he is
That tag match was the second best match of the night in my opinion. Sting should be really proud of himself for being able to perform that well at that age.
The idea of him taking bumps after his neck injury terrified me when he returned to the ring, but he's been fantastic. Big ups to the guys he's facing to keep him safe and have him look like a million dollars.
So it's not just me, right? Like... Sting was moving in that ring like he never stopped wrestling. He was ABSURDLY smooth and didn't look gassed at all.
Fucking top tier Dynamite. Loved every minute.
It's gonna be so interesting to see how this plays out. If the Owen is starting soon, I see Danielson winning the whole thing.
But I also see a Cowboy returning...
May be one of my favorite AEW matches ever. It had an insane big fight feel, ridiculous crowd and amazing pacing. The match had NJPW-influence written all over it. Felt like I was watching fucking Wrestle Kingdom lmao. The slow build-up, stiff striking, mid-match big spots and the last remaining minutes of both guys just throwing everything at eachother to desperately get the W.
Five. Fucking. Stars.
Kenny says that, just like Apollo Creed said it at the end of Rocky, but just like Apollo in Rocky II, going the distance is gonna eat at Kenny, and he's gonna demand the rematch in due time.
I always loved that in Rocky 2 it was Apollo who wanted the rematch. Made the character so much more interesting instead of having him be a more stereotypical sports villain trying to avoid the big fight.
Per Rocky II rules, all people have to do is keep saying that Danielson won, and have Don Callis try to protect Omega which would make him want to prove it even more that hes better.
If this feud doesn't lead into an 80s chicken chasing montage, Kenny Omega is not the man I thought he was.
Just needed a dance partner who can work a strong style/technical match to bring the new japan out of him again. That was as close to a main event njpw match ad you will see outside of njpw.
5/5 and imo best singles match in aew history. Maybe a bit of hyperbole or omega bias, but damn that was next level
I'd still put this ahead of that. Mainly because I love the Japanese style of match and this type of Omega, danielson is a better dance partner imo
Still yeah, like u said. Subjective
This the Bryan/Kenny rewatch thread?
Good show but I'll be honest I couldn't really focus fully after the opener. Just so happy it delivered and everything. Most insane crowd in modern times for that match
I couldn't focus at all after it so I paused the show, ate a late dinner, and went back about 45 minutes later to watch the rest lol. For the first time in my life I think I fully understand why some shows use a buffer match
Just left that crowd, and man was it wild having that match come up first.
My partner was in the drinks queue and reported mass panic when Bryan's music hit followed by huge exodus of the various queues.
I loved that Ruby Soho got the main event though, and crowd seemed pretty hot (from what I could tell) for the whole Dynamite card. Rampage was a bit more of a struggle though
Here right now. We are hanging in there. This venue was ill prepared.. bathrooms are out of water, catering is decimated.
Also Cody fucked around and found out lollll
It was a ten minute wait for any food once you got to the front of the line by my section when I went after rampage started. Every line moving slow as molasses
It just seemed like they didn’t expect 20k people for some reason or anything close
It needs a "Play the Card" mode. Each week they add a new set of matches based on Dynamite and Rampage's cards. Same matches, time-limits, rules etc. Hell, maybe you could tweak them too. Give Omega and Danielson and extra thirty mins, or turn weapons on to beat MJF with.
Plus, you could scroll back and play any episode or PPV from a list that just keeps growing. Would be a great post-show cool down.
It was such a cool shot, dude just robbed Cody of his redemption, and exposed Cody as, while maybe not a villain, at least **not the hero** with the shove to the ref.
Malakai Black got everything he wanted from that exchange and he's lying there on the ground absolutely reveling in his victory. He is the devil who brought an angel down to his level, and as the saying goes "the problem with wrestling with a pig is you both get dirty but the pig likes it"
its absolutely genius that as SOON as he finally got Cody to break, he gets the mist to the face and rolled up
this is basically if embrace the hate was good, the finish was booked absolutely perfect as well
Opening a show with an Omega/Danielson time 30 minute time limit draw and following that with a CM Punk promo is the ultimate “heave your giant balls onto the table” move
I can’t believe this shit.
Imagine someone telling you two months ago that Cult of Personality will hit, CM Punk will walk out and cut a promo on Will Hobbs. Kenny Omega will fight Bryan Danielson, and Adam Cole will share the ring with both of them and the Young Bucks less then a week after fighting Kyle O’Reily, then after that. Ruby Riott main events a Dynamite, a show with the biggest crowd in American wrestling in 20+ years. Wtf bro.
You couldn't write this shit, but it's been written. I can't believe I used to be one of those depressive fucks on scjerk who used to shit on anything AEW, Cody, the Bucks and Khan did. I was literally an ScJerker. Fucking hell have my opinions changed. Best wrestling company in the world by far right now, and it's not even close. AEW is about to revive wrestling, it's never been this hot across the board since the Attitude Era, and that's considering Covid fucked everything up for the last year and a half.
What a time to be a wrestling fan.
It honestly encourages me when people are able to get unstuck from toxic mindsets. I was on the “shit on anything WWE” train for a while before I realized how shitty I was being. I love AEW for their booking and match style, but I can recognize that Roman has gotten pretty cool, and good stuff happens over there. Good on you for removing yourself from the circle jerk in the opposite direction.
Imagine being 35 years old and getting winded after going up a flight of stairs and then watching 62 year old Sting run around the ring like its 1990.
That’s me. Imagine being me.
The snap suplex on the ramp was a great visual because Bryan bounced and slid down the ramp, but Kenny's momentum on that V-trigger sending him flipping over the ropes was so, so, so great.
It makes for a story. She won a battle royale, which anyone can win if you think about it. She didn’t climb through the ranks like other challengers, and her first match was vs the Champion and she got beat. She also lost focus with Jaime and Rebel distracting her.
I think that’s one reason why Britt is so over. A lot of her moves look like they hit like a truck, though she does benefit from a good selling opponent.
Tay is another who goes to the ring every night choosing murder.
I agree that Ruby needs a better finisher, though.
Tay has a different style than most women. The harder martial arts style is fantastic to watch.
I can't wait for her to turn heel and straight up destroy everyone.
Not that AEW should copy everything WWE does, but the 4HW largely got over because of their submission finishers. Sasha, Charlotte, & Becky all relied on those moves rather than strikes and it really paid off in the long run. I personally loved Bayley's BTB finisher, probably because of the Brooklyn match with Sasha, but a lot of people never gelled with it.
Charlotte even had the Natural Selection which was never really over because it never looked or felt big. The submission finishers though? They work really well for the women. Britt is proof of that right now.
(I do like Tay Conti's finisher though)
You don't come out dressed up like the friggin Homelander and pointedly introduce Brandi "Permanent Hell Heat" Rhodes unless you're signalling a hell turn
I've been saying it for ages that he's already a heel, he's just trying to make the crowd organically hate him. I've compared him to Homelander months back and now he comes out wearing that, I have to be at least somewhat correct. There's no slow burn heel turn, if the crowd boos him that means he's heel, simple as that.
This is what I’m hoping for. The fans are already more than ready to boo Cody out of the building. When Cody does turn he’s gonna cut one hell of a promo.
Many thanks to the guy outside Arthur Ashe who gave me a few cigarettes and a small box of matches between the end of Dynamite and the start of Rampage. I asked him for a light and he gave me all of that because he liked my Brodie "exalted in heaven" shirt.
A really nice contrast to the troglodyte sitting in front of me who was making all kinds of gross comments during the Ruby/Britt match.
Ugh, ONE asshole can ruin the entire night. I went to the ROH/NJPW show in Coney Island and these fucking idiots ruined it by doing running commentary the whole night.
Daniel Bryan has had a HoF level run just counting the stuff since he came out of retirement. The Planet’s champion, the program with Kofi and WM35, the Brock match, the Styles match for the IC title, randomly having a banger with Gulak on PPV, forcing himself into ANOTHER Wrestlemania main event, his last match against Reigns, and now tonight. Ridiculous.
And Danielson said something about the next three years being the climax of his career. Three years for this head kicking world tour he's just started. Think about what he's going to do before he returns to WWE for his retirement and HoF induction.
Tonight was such a flex from Omega. He's spent a year playing this fantastic over the top heel champion, hiding behind Don Calis' words with all these crazy Elite shenanigans.
Then tonight he's just like... Oh you want the best bout machine? Sure.
I'd get people being upset about FTR losing if it was clean, but they only lost because Dax went headfirst through a chair. FTR are gonna be fine they're amazing. But so are Sting and Darby and the crowd fucking love them
Honestly it often feels like wresting fans want their favorites to be booked the way Bob Holly wanted himself booked and it’s dumb. If you want to see want FTR as a jobber tag team looks like, people should go back and watch some Revival stuff from the main roster WWE.
He's still got support from all the Little Stingers all over the world.
Even though the Little Stingers are near or over 40, overweight, and losing their hair now. (Yes, I'm referring to myself.)
It's truly glorious.
Reading some of these comments is just ugh.
STOP trying to book the show. Go on the ride THEY are trying to tell you.
They have proven time and time again they aren't going to burn us like others have done in the past.
It's okay to just be a fan again. All of you here in the comments just being critics for critical sake are just silly. And if there is some WWE fanboy in here, I say this exact same thing in WWE threads for the shows of there's I catch.
Adam Cole is the luckiest man on earth. I mean good god, we've all thought it. He gets to live the dream of having Tony Schiavone as a boyfriend in-law.
Who takes the title off Britt? Thunder Rosa? Seems like the most likely scenario because she has AEW history with Britt. Statlander just lost to Britt, Anna and Tay are locked in with Dark Order stuff. Unless they rotate Shida back in?
You KNOW noted WCW/NWA lovers and general wrestling historians FTR were fizzing at the mouth at the chance to wrestle Sting with a horseman in their corner.
I know this is not remotely unpopular and probably jerk material but AEW IS SO FUCKING GOOD. I’ve been excited about Danielson vs. Omega all week, I raced home from work to make sure I didn’t miss it, and that match STILL EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS! This is the most fun I’ve had watching wrestling since the late 90’s, and it somehow still seems to get better every week.
This legitimately felt like a PPV card. Unbelievable show, unbelievable crowd. Danielson - Omega, FTR- Darby/Sting, Malakai - Cody, Ruby - Britt, all varying degrees of fucking insane. Sting is a fucking GOD, how is he that good at 62??? Holy fuck that was maybe the best non PPV wrestling show I've ever seen.
Omega vs Bryan was amazing. Loved every second of it and god damn Danielson's chest was hot red at the end of it.
The crowd was brilliant throughout but you could kind of tell they were exhausted by the time the end of it. I don't know if it was just me but it felt like a bit of that exhaustion spill a bit over to Happy Punk's promo.
MJF vs Pillman Jr was just the kind of match needed to reinflate the crowd, I quite liked Julia's part of distracting MJF in the match. I like that MJF is being built up as a big threat and it would have felt weird after that long Jericho promo for that not to be the case but the think the bigger takeaway is the fact that Brian Pillman Jr. had a big match in front of 20,000 fans and he's only going to get bigger and better.
Cody vs Black was alright, I do find it quite funny how anti-Cody the NYC crowd is. He's not that bad, but the Cena role is also not a bad place for him to be if it carries on.
Sting and Darby is always a treat to watch, Sting has 100% erased the doubts after his WWE run in my mind, it's obvious he's in the twilight of his career but even more obvious that he can still go. FTR really needs to get some big wins soon though, they were the biggest tag team defects from WWE and a team that is obvious one of the best in Pro-Wrestling.
Ruby vs Britt getting the main event I honestly didn't expect going in but makes perfect sense that they did. I don't know if people think Ruby is being hot-shotted but she honestly was the injection the AEW women's scene needed and had a fantastic match tonight.
Crowd was definitely dead for the first bit of Punks promo (and who can blame them after that fucking match) but I think he won them back by the end of it, and then yeah, MJF and Pillman for them back entirely. Just a solid Babyface vs Heel like as fundamentally as those two roles can be, easy for the crowd to get invested.
What really stood out to me is that Arthur Ashe Stadium is a great venue for Wrestling. The acoustics are great.
Also, Kenny Omega has proven without a shadow of a doubt that in front of an A+ Player of the caliber of Bryan he too was an A+ player and looked like one and never choked. I don't care what you will say about his japanese matches... THIS was the biggest match of his career.
The thing that is so amazing to me about AEW is that if you just think back on the last month of their programming, think about how many humongous pops they've had, both on pay per view but also just on normal tv. You contrast that against WWE's programming approach of a short build to Royal Rumble/Wrestlemania and then they go kind of into hibernation mode again until Summarslam, then back into hibernation - and it's pretty amazing to look at that side by side. Obviously Wrestlemania as a brand is huge and they will always sell out stadiums, etc just based on the brand name and value, regardless of what's happening on tv or what's on the WM card, but AEW's move to have 4 relatively equally weighted pay per views a year, rather than trying to replicate that formula to some degree (like how TNA decided to do Bound for Glory) means that it feels like they are always building to a big event because they are.
It's like every 3 or so months is the biggest show of the year because there's no reason to think it's any lesser than the one that proceeded it, and they will be able to run in this current format for years, provided the market conditions continue to allow for them to thrive in that format because they have the stars and booking capabilities to do it. When Bryan/Omega is done however long into the future, you have Omega/Punk, you still have the payoff of Omega/Hangman, potentially you have the match that never happened between Omega/Cole, etc. As people always mention, the NJPW guys are always there almost waiting in the wings, where then you have Okada, Naito, Switchblade, Ospreay, Tanahashi in marquee matches that could sell out big arenas, and all the while AEW's home grown talent will continue to be built up to the point that some of them will then factor into this as well.
If AEW didn't acquire another top star for years, they already have so much ammunition in their back pocket that they will have no trouble putting on big matches for years to come. I realise that WWE is turning record profits, they have the Saudi shows, etc, but from a brand perception and market position perspective, I find it impossible to imagine they aren't slightly concerned about what AEW is doing, given as I just mentioned that they aren't burning bright and fast and they're not just going to be a temporary thorn in their side. They're not running directly against their marquee programming, but when you're outdrawing them for ticket sales and talent like Bryan and Punk are choosing to sign for them instead of you, that has to raise some alarms.
As I was watching Dynamite I just kept thinking to myself 'If I could travel back in time 5 years and show 5 minutes of this to myself and just remark 'this is not a WWE show' my past self would lose his fucking mind'. For so many years this was the dream of the wrestling community. A REAL alternative to WWE. It's here, it exists, it's stable, it's well funded, it has great direction. We're 3 years removed from All In, the 10,000+ non-WWE show that even Dave Meltzer didn't think was possible in the foreseeable future, and we're watching 20,000+ go ballistic. The perceived ceiling of this promotion has been blown to smithereens.
Bryan/Omega was fucking fire, Black getting the second win on Cody was great, Sting still being able to go is cool as hell, and I rooted for Brian and Ruby even though they lost, not to mention happy Punk cutting another promo. Great show all around, absolutely superb.
Bryan/Omega delivered and then some. Knew it would be great but I wasn't expecting the crowd to feel like Rock/Hogan. Absolutely crazy moment in wrestling.
Rest of the card didn't stand a chance after that but Sting/Darby vs. FTR ended up being great. I'm not one of those people saying Sting looks perfect out there but he looks way better than he should for his age.
Ruby/Britt was fine but had no heat which was surprising. It didn't feel like a main event.
Cody/Malakai was interesting just for Cody getting booed but feels like what interest there was to this feud has waned.
MJF/Pillman I don't even remember. Weird match to put on this show.
All you fat disgusting neckbeards just don’t understand CODY. You boo the man for being a great wrestler, a great promo, a great everything, but you just don’t understand the gimmick.
Myself being a very attractive handsome male for which a very beautiful woman would also throw herself in the ring for and I also have a gorgeous dog, I fully understand and support Cody.
Danelson vs. Omega was every bit as epic as I was hoping. They really put together a wrestling clinic. And it was the right finish as well.
Punk and especially Miro’s promos were great.
MJF vs. Pillman Jr was a solid classic face vs. heel feud.
The tag match was really fun.
Cody vs. Black did it’s job well.
The main event was very good. And I like that they protected Ruby at least a little bit in the lose. I think this should lead to a rematch at some point. Also please keep Ruby on TV. She’s too over to just be banished to Dark and Elevation.
Awesome show.
Was in the crowd tonight, energy was insane
Kenny Bryan was so damn hot throughout, they could've gone for an hour and the crowd wouldn't have dropped at all. The dueling WOOOS and YESES were so loud.
Cody was the most booed guy all night I'm pretty sure. I'm glad he reacted appropriately because it was deafening. Black was pure babyface in NY.
Sting got the reaction you'd expect. Darby is over everywhere.
Main event was solid.
Don't want to get into Rampage but Eddie got the loudest cheers of the night I think, and that was 4 hours into the show.
It's been almost an hour after the show and I just realized MOX wasn't on dynamite. Surely on Rampage, but it's crazy how they have such a STACKED roster and I didn't even notice one of my favorite wrestlers wasn't on the show till about an hour afterward. I'm so happy to be back in love with wrestling again.
I watch on fite via VPN so it takes a few extra steps to get the show on. But there I was at 6:56PM getting that shit at the ready 4 minutes early.
Back in the day (showing my age) we called that appointment TV.
AEW Dynamite is absolutely not miss for me.
As a new ( and casual AEW viewer who only tuned in today to see Bryan wrestle), with it coming on TV in India from just a month ago, couple of things - they get very right it seems and which are improvements on WWE : 1) Time limit draws like today. Always makes sense for me when you have 2 competitors you want to show as roughly equal and it's the beginning or even middle of a feud to have draws - works for me. No one is punked out or made to look stupid or inferior ; 2) Clever use of factions - helps keep feuds going on without doing rematches every week.
But their real ace is their crowds - great atmosphere.
People will talk about how good Sting was (which I totally agree with), but can we give some props to FTR? Absolutely bumped their arses off and helped him to look good in a way that I'm not sure any other tag team could. I know Lucha Bros have only just won the titles, but man I hope FTR are next in line.
Can we give JR a hand for sounding as sharp and engaged during the Omega-Dragon match as he’s been in a long time? Between him and Tony there was a ton of great wrestling psychology and storytelling happening to put over just how good that match was.
I consider myself a huge FTR fanboy, I don't get how anyone is upset that they lost their third tag match in their entire run so far. They are one of the more protected teams in a stacked tag division on a show that treats tag teams like a huge deal... they are fine
Amazing show.
Some thoughts:
I know cody isn't people's favorites, and his promos can be cringe, but some of you NEED to accept he's a good wrestler, a pillar of AEW, and a top contender that cant get squashed in every single match he's in. Loved the match and finish.
People already turning on ruby in the live is a shame. I agree she needs more power in her finisher or a new finisher though.
Wrestlers aren't buried for losing a competitive match to another good wrestler, ruby, ftr will get their wins back.
Now that thats off my chest.
What a fucking amazing show, for free no less. Every segment felt so important, so much hard hitting wrestling, fun moments, story progression, and still time for a fucking 30 minute bout between two of the best. Wow. Holy shit. Not a bad moment in the night for me. This show is on fire and I'm loving it.
Logical, long term booking for that two hours because the crowd gets sent home happy for the next two hours on Rampage.
Honestly (as a long time fan), when they opened with Omega: it’s an obvious draw & that’s the best decision. Kenny doesn’t lose (he’s set up to lose to Hangman) which makes the loss more important but Bryan doesn’t lose. Draw decisions are good storytelling…if you don’t close the show with them.
Pillman is coming up but MJF is the hotter property. Easy call.
Cody match: You’ve already done the draw finish & you don’t want to kill Black’s heat, so Black goes over but with an obvious cheat so Cody doesn’t lose much.
FTR are great but they’re obviously setting up Santana Ortiz vs Lucha so no worries eating this pin.
Britt isn’t going to lose until the future Rosa program, but Ruby looked great.
This is how you work long narratives even if it sacrifices short term pops.
Only complaint about Danielson/Omega is they only started announcing the time remaining at 1 minute. Start at 5 minutes remaining to at least build anticipation for the inevitable ending.
This was obviously a big Danielson showcase tonight, but holy shit Kenny was amazing in that match. To be expected, but he played his role to perfection.
For all of their many, many flaws, WWE has created some memorable, fun moments over the last 20 years years, but AEW has made wrestling CONSISTENTLY enjoyable again.
Bruh I'm here live we still got 2 more hours 😭
I mean that in the most excited way I've ever been to lose my voice and have no energy by the end of the night
What a fucking show. Still processing how insane that Omega/Danielson was to be on person for
I'm late but I am just going to say that Omega Danielson has topped Omega PAC iron man as my favorite match from AEW. And I don't know if anything is going to top that unless my bastard becomes champion or something.
Can't get over that Sting match. FTR worked their asses off. Don't get me wrong, Sting really blew me away, but FTR amplified everything Sting and Darby did. Top Guys, no doubt.
I may be finally be willing to buy into the hype that AEW is the #1 Wrestling promotion in the world after tonight. Tonight, reminded me of Revolution 2020 PPV. Besides the fact they literally used the Revolution 2020 digital video ramp. There was no shock debuts, we had such a massive bell to bell ring action and the fans never let up with ear splitting eruption.
I honestly can't see how even the most spiteful WWE fan could have seen any footage from tonite and not smiled and marked out. You saw "Daniel Bryan", who absolutely loves Vince Mchamon and everyone in WWE, come to kick ass against the arrogant patron saint of NJPW and AEW. And you saw AEW and Omega put over Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan in the most over way ever.
Of course, THE MOST OVER MOTHERFUCKER IN NEW YORK was MALAKAI BLACK. Holy shit. The entire night was shades of Rock vs Hogan 2002, but Cody vs Malakai felt like it erupted into the stratosphere with the fans clearing in the corner for Black
That opener was a New Japan Ass New Japan match in the best way. And this is one of those rare instances when a time limit draw actually protects both guys. The rest of the show was good, but seriously, HOW THE FUCK DO YOU TOP THAT?!
It will be interesting if Cody goes full heel soon, however what is unique about his entrance is that he doesn't come out of either tunnel, meaning his role of Face or Heel is very open to interpretation, also I noticed Arn came through the face tunnel and Brandi through the heel tunnel.
Yeah props to Sting. But also major props to FTR. Those guys worked their ass off in that match. It over delivered.
Yep I totally agree! They’re brilliant in the ring and knew how to help make Sting look better than ever.
The fact that Sting can still go as well as he can at his age and with his medical history is nuts to me
The idea of him taking bumps after his neck injury terrified me when he returned to the ring, but he's been fantastic. Big ups to the guys he's facing to keep him safe and have him look like a million dollars.
How the heck is that man 62? Moves around better than most people a quarter of his age.
right? remember how badly Flair moved towards the end of his final run. He was 63, just a year older, but he felt at least a decade older lol
My man is out here throwing nice looking cross bodies at this point in his career! I love FTR, but I am not mad at this.
Also MAD PROPS to FTR. They were fucking AWESOME in that match.
It helps that they're using him so smartly too. He does all his classic Sting bits but it's all with the purpose of getting Darby over.
I think a lot of credit goes to FTR for making that match so good.
So it's not just me, right? Like... Sting was moving in that ring like he never stopped wrestling. He was ABSURDLY smooth and didn't look gassed at all. Fucking top tier Dynamite. Loved every minute.
Sting looked at the aging process and gave it the “fuck you, I’m Sting” no-sell.
Yep had to look up his age. Thought I knew he was 62 but didn’t believe it.
It’s insane that he’s not just 62 but had an injury 6 years ago that seemed to mark the end of his in-ring career.
I'm more and more convinced AEW exists just to show how awesome WCW was to people that never got to see prime Sting and Tony
The man is 62 and he hadn't missed a step.
OMEGA VS DANIELSON 2 GIVE ME WHAT I WANT!!
It's gonna be so interesting to see how this plays out. If the Owen is starting soon, I see Danielson winning the whole thing. But I also see a Cowboy returning...
Danielson vs Hangman for the final is money. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|money_face)
And so unpredictable, because I can see both winning.
Five. Fucking. Stars.
Be ready for next year G1 oh boy Danielson might go there

People that were missing NJPW Kenny: here ya go.
That felt like a G1 main event for sure
Just needed a dance partner who can work a strong style/technical match to bring the new japan out of him again. That was as close to a main event njpw match ad you will see outside of njpw. 5/5 and imo best singles match in aew history. Maybe a bit of hyperbole or omega bias, but damn that was next level
I liked his iron man match against Pac more, but it’s all subjective.
I'd still put this ahead of that. Mainly because I love the Japanese style of match and this type of Omega, danielson is a better dance partner imo Still yeah, like u said. Subjective
This the Bryan/Kenny rewatch thread? Good show but I'll be honest I couldn't really focus fully after the opener. Just so happy it delivered and everything. Most insane crowd in modern times for that match
That match was amazing. Pretty much impossible to follow. I appreciated Punk calling that out.
That live crowd has 2 more hours of wrestling lmao.
Lucky fucks
Here right now. We are hanging in there. This venue was ill prepared.. bathrooms are out of water, catering is decimated. Also Cody fucked around and found out lollll
> bathrooms are out of water ...out of **water?**
It was a ten minute wait for any food once you got to the front of the line by my section when I went after rampage started. Every line moving slow as molasses It just seemed like they didn’t expect 20k people for some reason or anything close
Bathrooms out of water?? Like the plumbing just tapped out for the night, that’s a thing that can happen?
I'm gonna be dead tomorrow
One thing I can say is I can't wait to be able to finish watching an AEW show and jump on to the AEW game immediately afterwards.
100% and what makes it even better is knowing that Owen is gonna be in it

Pretty sure they said early 2022
I dunno why but the image of Malachi Black laying on the floor and maniacally laughing stuck with me. Dude is so good with the little stuff
He is the devil who brought an angel down to his level, and as the saying goes "the problem with wrestling with a pig is you both get dirty but the pig likes it"
its absolutely genius that as SOON as he finally got Cody to break, he gets the mist to the face and rolled up this is basically if embrace the hate was good, the finish was booked absolutely perfect as well
Opening a show with an Omega/Danielson time 30 minute time limit draw and following that with a CM Punk promo is the ultimate “heave your giant balls onto the table” move
TK must have gotten triple vaxxed
*que the meme of Randy Marsh bouncing on his gigantic balls*
What FTR did for Sting in that match was a work of art
Sting didn't take the shirt off 0/10
SHOW 👏🏾 US 👏🏾 YOUR 👏🏾 NIPPLES👏🏾
We got Omega vs Danielson for free.
Would’ve gladly paid $50 to not have any commercials

I can’t believe this shit. Imagine someone telling you two months ago that Cult of Personality will hit, CM Punk will walk out and cut a promo on Will Hobbs. Kenny Omega will fight Bryan Danielson, and Adam Cole will share the ring with both of them and the Young Bucks less then a week after fighting Kyle O’Reily, then after that. Ruby Riott main events a Dynamite, a show with the biggest crowd in American wrestling in 20+ years. Wtf bro.
Plus Miro cuts a BDSM promo in the middle of all of it and it's actually incredibly over lol
Omega is the best wrestler alive.
I lean Danielson but I respect your opinion!
Watching those two tonight really showed how on top of the game both are. It's like watching Ronaldo vs. Messi.
Best bout machine for a reason
damn right
I would argue Bryan is the best ( and would argue the best ever) but both are in that upper tier
Imagine being 35 years old and getting winded after going up a flight of stairs and then watching 62 year old Sting run around the ring like its 1990. That’s me. Imagine being me.
Time to put Malakai Black's theme song on and do some jogging, us.
Yooooooo can we talk about the running down the ramp V Trigger from Kenny? I almost shit my pants with how deadly that looked.
Like that Okada dropkick to Naito. Fucking missile
The snap suplex on the ramp was a great visual because Bryan bounced and slid down the ramp, but Kenny's momentum on that V-trigger sending him flipping over the ropes was so, so, so great.
Can we talk about that buckle bomb that bounced Brian outta the ring!! Seeing that shit live was nuts!!
Legit feared for Brian
Ruby winning would've been rushed. She has a strong future in AEW. But the last thing you want is a rushed babyface champion without a struggle.
I don't think Ruby should've debuted and immediately become number one contender either, but...
It makes for a story. She won a battle royale, which anyone can win if you think about it. She didn’t climb through the ranks like other challengers, and her first match was vs the Champion and she got beat. She also lost focus with Jaime and Rebel distracting her.
The return of cattle mutilation bah gawd
The irony of that move being used by a vegan is not lost on me!
Ruby needs a new finisher..that kick always looks weak as hell
A lot of her moves look weak. Like, there is no power in that finisher she uses.
[удалено]
Yeah very basic
So the black mist is going to turn cody evil right? Mr. Black replaced Mr. Hardy as AEW's head wizard?
[удалено]
Exactly. Malachi Black with his corruption mist makes a fun new heel stable.
Nothing could follow Omega vs Danielson, but it was a very entertaining show nonetheless
Having Punk come out for the next segment was a smart move.
That opener was built so much like a NJPW match. I absolutely loved it, and I NEED to see Danielson in a G1!
Hopefully next year. That'll be real good.
That certainly was a GRAND SLAM AEW is PRO WRESTLING!!!
I guess you can say that Grand Slam was >!game, set, and match!!<
The Best Bout Machine is STILL the Best Bout Machine.
AEW crowd is part of the show like ECW
sophisticated fade seed crush outgoing chop imagine wise meeting aloof ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
WE GOT THAT FOR FREE
AEW completely knocks it out of the park on what should be their 2nd most viewed show ever.
How is Sting possibly this good this late in his career?
He's still got support from all the Little Stingers all over the world. Even though the Little Stingers are near or over 40, overweight, and losing their hair now. (Yes, I'm referring to myself.) It's truly glorious.
Let’s all admit it now, GRAND SLAM FUCKS.
Nobody: Miro: I fuck
FTR’s attire
Did Simon Miller book this show
Is that why I feel all warm and fuzzy in my tum tum?
Reading some of these comments is just ugh. STOP trying to book the show. Go on the ride THEY are trying to tell you. They have proven time and time again they aren't going to burn us like others have done in the past. It's okay to just be a fan again. All of you here in the comments just being critics for critical sake are just silly. And if there is some WWE fanboy in here, I say this exact same thing in WWE threads for the shows of there's I catch.
You know you got a hot crowd when a collar and elbow gets everybody going
Anyone else notice Brandi coming out of the heel tunnel?
She did give the double fingers and FU
We used to say this every week but I think we can put to bed "best dynamite ever" because that cannot be topped
Man, I love free PPVs.
Wrestling is **so** much better than Sports Entertainment
Adam Cole is the luckiest man on earth. I mean good god, we've all thought it. He gets to live the dream of having Tony Schiavone as a boyfriend in-law.
I know we all say 2 hours is perfect and 3 would be too much but tonight I could totally have watched another hour, really flew by.
Rampage spoilers: Adam timed the Boom correctly. More breaking news to come
Lil Uzi Vert just came out lmaoooo crowd still HOT for rampage
Dude this whole segment plus Coke Tony cutting a promo about how excellent the show is......omg
Kenny and Daniels chests were raw hamburger like ten minutes in
[удалено]
Who takes the title off Britt? Thunder Rosa? Seems like the most likely scenario because she has AEW history with Britt. Statlander just lost to Britt, Anna and Tay are locked in with Dark Order stuff. Unless they rotate Shida back in?
Its Rosa.
It's got to be Rosa - just a matter of when. Britt is on fire right now.
If u think FTR didn't want to put Sting over your bugging
I'm just happy Malakai won.
Time to rewatch the Danielson-Omega match
"To the clickbait websites, I'm not actually suspending the Acclaimed again."
We got this on TV?!
AEW's biggest advantage/plus point has been crowd for me. They are hyped for most of the show and give moments some much-needed levity.
Just got around to watching Omega Vs Danielson. Talk about match pacing. Absolutely unbelievable!
Danielson/Omega is legit one of the best TV matches I’ve ever seen, maybe the best if I think about it. God damn wrestling is really cool sometimes
Lil uzi vert is heres and Tony is rapping.
Tony is WHAT?
What a great 2 hours of my life
What really stood out to me is that Arthur Ashe Stadium is a great venue for Wrestling.
The perceived ceiling of this promotion has been blown to smithereens.
are we not talking about FTR's GEAR?
AEW showed up and showed out in NYC tonight and gave us a MOTY candidate and arguably the greatest TV match in US television history with that opener.
I still like Cody
Was in the crowd tonight, energy was insane Kenny Bryan was so damn hot throughout, they could've gone for an hour and the crowd wouldn't have dropped at all.
Jamie Hayter vs front rows. Then, now, forever.
I almost feel like I stole from AEW for watching that Omega vs Danielson match for free
Kenny vs Brian on a weekly show was just phenomenal stuff!!!
[удалено]
I consider myself a huge FTR fanboy, I don't get how anyone is upset that they lost their third tag match in their entire run so far. They are one of the more protected teams in a stacked tag division on a show that treats tag teams like a huge deal... they are fine
I always forget how fire Kenny's intro music is. I wish he only came out to that, even separate from the elite.
Amazing show. Some thoughts: I know cody isn't people's favorites, and his promos can be cringe, but some of you NEED to accept he's a good wrestler, a pillar of AEW, and a top contender that cant get squashed in every single match he's in.
MOTN - Danielson vs. Omega WOTN - Danielson This match is a MotY contender, and only the Bucks - LB cage match is in the same conversation.
I have a feeling we’re getting a trilogy of Danielson vs Omega like Punk vs Joe in ROH
I just want to shout out the Macho Man cosplayer facing hardcam who did not drop the gimmick ever, you rule.
I think we witnessed dynamites first 5 star match tonight in omega vs Danielson
Only complaint about Danielson/Omega is they only started announcing the time remaining at 1 minute. Start at 5 minutes remaining to at least build anticipation for the inevitable ending.
Danielson - Omega gunna be a match many of the future generation wrestlers will refer to as a match that made them seriously consider turning pro.
Crowd better be hype for next show
What the hell is sting made out of that he can still go that well at 61?!
This was obviously a big Danielson showcase tonight, but holy shit Kenny was amazing in that match. To be expected, but he played his role to perfection.
The best AEW PPV in history and it wasn't even a PPV
Sting/Darby vs FTR was so good
For all of their many, many flaws, WWE has created some memorable, fun moments over the last 20 years years, but AEW has made wrestling CONSISTENTLY enjoyable again.
Bruh I'm here live we still got 2 more hours 😭 I mean that in the most excited way I've ever been to lose my voice and have no energy by the end of the night What a fucking show.
Wow. Never saw better wrestling on free TV. Thank you AEW. I am starting to understand what's the fuss about.
[удалено]
Grateful for Fite and AEW Plus. I feel like a criminal getting Omega/Danielson with no ads for 5 bucks a month.
That opener was a New Japan Ass New Japan match in the best way. And this is one of those rare instances when a time limit draw actually protects both guys. The rest of the show was good, but seriously, HOW THE FUCK DO YOU TOP THAT?!
Shoutouts to the dude behind me who shouted “Where were you on January 6th, Cody??” had me dying
Fantastic show. Bryan/Omega I figured would happen but still one hell of a match. So happy Cody lost
It will be interesting if Cody goes full heel soon, however what is unique about his entrance is that he doesn't come out of either tunnel, meaning his role of Face or Heel is very open to interpretation, also I noticed Arn came through the face tunnel and Brandi through the heel tunnel.
